Lorna had lived with her mom, so therefore she knew a lot about her personally. Which pills she liked, which shampoo she favored. She also knew a lot about her not-Dad (who was being referred to as not-Dad now that she had a Dad). What she didn't know was a lot about her Dad. Since the week she'd found out about her Dadneto, Lorna had been in a state of euphoria and a state of anxiety of not knowing what he intended to do with this knowledge. Anxiety made her do things sometimes that nuro-normal people didn't do!
Like walk into his place while he was out and not-so-subtly look around. At first it was just the surface things. What he kept sitting out. His hats. Trying on a few Lorna found one she liked and kept it on. She walked over to the closest and open it but there wasn't too much in there to make her keep digging. She opened and closed a few drawers, then moved on to something more exciting.
There was a chest with this helmet and some other mementos. She was looking through them trying to place why each was important. Why he might decide this was what he wanted to hold on to, but not keep out in sight. There was a necklace in it, and Lorna pulled it out. Using her powers t open it and look at the picture inside. "Who are you?" She muttered, leaving it floating there while her hands dug in more.

Humans were stupid, but they did okish things sometimes. Cheese-its were one of the more okish things they did. Though Lorna pretended that a mutant had thought of the adult version of goldfish. The square cheesy snack was her jam right now. Between her and Pyro she didn't know who ate more of them. This box however she was protecting with her life. No one--and she meant NO ONE--was going to eat them. Magneto had brought them for her from the mainland.
A box of snacks shouldn't mean to much too her, but it did. Lorna had grown up in a home that she was both negated and abused in. Having someone buy her something, even this small, hadn't been something she was used too. It affected her more then she had wanted to admit.
A white hair kid popped up and she walked up behind him, ready to defend the island while Dadneto was away--Magneto might not be ready for anyone to call him Dad but Lorna wasn't exactly asking person. She was officially at the rank of Disney princess for something. Here on the island they didn't bother hiding, but anyone not known brought attention so others were looking at the new guy too. Lorna spoke first. "Are ya lost?" She asked, her voice more dead pan than rude. More ironic since most people didn't just 'stumble' on the island. She knew he wasn't lost.

Math? Really? Lorna tried to keep her 'that's boring' reaction in her head but she wasn't quite used to holding it back. For her, she'd dropped out of school early on so thankfully she'd never needed a tutor or a math teacher. "That sounds . . . . . fun," Dread pan sarcasm might as well be her middle name. This guy seemed nice though, which fit into this idea of the school being 'upper class'. Not that only upper class was nice, but he was nice to someone he didn't know that had just walked into this place un-invited. If he had done that at her house everyone would be standing and watching and no one would be offering drinking.
They'd be questioning the crap out of him. "Suuure," She said unsure of that was a trick or him being honest. "A drink sounds good." He also asked about how she'd heard of the place and Lorna paused trying to think of what name to drop. On one hand Magneto had spoken about the school and it's purpose. On the other she had heard about it from a former student--Pyro. Either name might spark reactions around here. Since she knew how Magneto might get a reaction she decided to play around with the other name, "Pyro. He used to go here before he jumped ship and joined the dark side." Dark side being a star wars reference, not because she thought they were really the bad side.

Ignoring the begining of everything he said, Lorna only foucsed on what she wanted too. He had mouthed off but they both were used too that and expected it. They never got upset with mouthing off. So she just stood there not really moving while he added on. "I'm just going to meet a friend in the city," Ugh, she wasn't feeling the city tonight. "And no, you can't come." WHY NOT! Now she was damn well going! How dare he not let her come! What the hell was his issue!
You see this?" she asked while holding up her hand and the green plasma twisted around her fingers as a bit of metal came up and shook between them. "This s my bull shit detector. It shakes at bull shit." Dropping it Lorna looked at him. "We both know I am your only friend." WHICH was why she wanted to know what he was really doing in the city. She wanted to know how that he was really up too. "What are you really up too??" She demanded, her tone slightly annoyed.

Lorna, aka Polaris, was working on building her street cred with the people here, and she was doing alright. Her powers were very easy to use, and her temper made a lot of the others listen up so they didn't have to go head to head with her. Not that there weren't some where that could take her down, there were, but she was working on building her place here and wasn't going to challenge them. Right now at least. One things Lorna was in charge of was helping the newbs get buckled in. She didn't like it, but it gave her a chance to make her authority known--and she liked that.
Which is why when the pimple came up to her and spoke she gave a sarcastic "Oh good. You know your colors. I as worried but I'm glad to see you only look like a idiot." Turning she put her hands on her hips and tilted her head with a sarcastic smile. Most were put off by her amusing comments (as they don't find her amusing). "So play nice before I give you a bed near the out house." They didn't have out houses, but what newbs didn't know that.

Something has simple as being held, was so unknown yo Lorna that she wasn't sure how to react after. Her positive interactions with people were limited to her last half of her young life, and even then she didn't go out of her way to earn more. Yet even knowing she was a mess, he'd stayed and held her. Since she'd met him, and even more after she found out he was her father, Lorna had been sensitive to his attention. She never got it from her mother, and she wanted it all from him. Yet she hadn't thought about it like this. Hadn't imagined emotional attention.
Pulling back she finally let him go, and slid back a few inches so she wasn't in his face. He had said that her step-Dad had been her past, and she got it. Forget about her past and kick the future's ass. But it didn't feel finished. He might not be here, but he was HERE. Always would. Taking a deep breath she nodded, and tried to say something. Lorna just didn't know what to say. "Yeah, I know." It wasn't dismissive, but it wasn't quite an agreement.
"I know it's stupid to let him get in my head. I just happens. Some Dads suck." Mostly when she was thinking too much. Or tired. Or upset about something. She expected it some nights. She hadn't expected Magneto to come into her room and catch her. Had it been almost anyone else she'd had freaked out and thrown a punch. "You had a kid, right?" She asked. Well, technology he still had a kid, but she didn't know how much he thought of her that way and she wasn't pushing it since the answer had the potential to hurt like a dumb bitch. "You sing to her?"

Lorna gave a half sarcastic half amused two syllable laugh before rolling her eyes at her first comment--and then e pushed back and told her to get out! Little punk better count his stars that she was wiping his gross ass sweat! "Lay back down and stop being a bitch before you get worked up!" The doctor had his hands full and like hell she was risking him not getting better. If he had someone to make sure he got better then he wouldn't be one of the ones to kick it because they were weak.
It took her a minute but she realized that he was trying not to get her sick. She liked it, but wasn't going to admit it. If she admitted it and he stopped then she was the dumb bitch who got too attached. "I don't get sick. Different sickness go around here all the time. Have you ever noticed me get sick once? I'm a rock!" More like she was a mutant, and her powers protected her. But no one knew that. She wasn't about to share a sharing and caring circle so she wasn't about to tell him now. If he got scared and bolted then she'd have no one. "You you wiggle too much and get a fervor again, I'm going to sell your shit on Ebay. Take a nap, rest up. You're going to need it. If you your fevor don't come back tonight then you're out of the woods the doc said, so I now I have to sit here all night. You can thank me any time!" No one told her to sit here. She'd put her self here and refused to leave.

Imagine if they could see her now? Lorna wondered what they'd think, but she had a pretty good idea. Her mother wouldn't care. She'd just be glad that she didn't have to deal with the hot mess her daughter had become. And her step-Dad. Lorna was glad it was dark, and how she really felt couldn't really be seen too well. She had the power to kill him--and make it look natural. Yet the idea of seeing him again made it hard to breathe. It was stupid, but she wouldn't ever admit to being to afraid of him still.
Lorna didn't look at him until he began talking about his Mom. Scared of him. She could see that. Coward ass human freaking out because she had a super human son. What a bitch. His family pretended like he wasn't there. Yeah, she got that. She got how you could want to be in a normal family as a kid, and turn into them. Weren't they a pair? Two birds of a feather and whatever that saying was.
That was when she realized that Pyro had once said something about siblings. Damn it, what had he said? One? Two? A dozen? Lorna knew they were human. That had to suck! At least she was an only kid and never had to see her parents accept and love someone else. His whole family treated him like that. "She sounds like a weak ass bitch." Lorna said, but she also knew that if he was anything like her then--she was still his Mom. He might still want her to love him. Just like Lorna still wanted her Mom to show up one day with regrets. "It's their loss," She used his words back at him. "Let them have their Brady Bunch family. You're ten times more bad ass then they will ever be."
In a rare Lorna moment, she was thinking about someone besides herself, and to make the moment even rarer she kept speaking to him. "Humans will never get us. We're a problem and they just want it solved and to forget about us. &^%$ them!"

Ugh! They were the worst words he could have spoken to her right now. "I heard you talking in your sleep." She did what now?! What the hell had she even said!? Lorna had been working on using a cloth to clean up a headlight she'd found, and wanted to turn into a lamp, when he said it. She licked her lips to stall, and slowly looked up at him. "Did you now?" She asked sarcastically, already deflecting.
She didn't know she talked in her sleep, but she did know her dreams were crazy. Sometimes it was as weird as being naked in class, to the nightmarish flashbacks to getting beaten while being helpless. Sometimes they were nice, but most of the time they were twisted up things happening from the days before, or what was coming up. "And did you enjoy you're freak show?" She asked, trying to brush it off since she had no idea what she had said. What had she dreamed last night? Something about him and her having to run this place and no one obeying them, so she ended up running around like a kid and getting upset that no one would listen. Shit. That was't one of the better ones.

Blackmail. Would he really blackmail her? Lorna hadn't told anyone about her other power, and now Pyro knew. So here they were staring at each other, while trying to figure out where this would go next. He had power of her now, because she had asked him not to tell anyone. He hadn't replied yet and the silence made her uneasy. Lorna could store sicknesses in her. The common cold, cancer, the flu, other stronger biological weapons in a way. Then when she touched someone she would give them that sickness in a range of intensities.
She'd had to use it when there had been no metal around to quickly use and her and Pyro were trying to fight their way out of a government holding cell together. They were walking back (she could have left him there but she was walking with him) and asked him not to tell. Mutants didn't often fear other mutant powers, but everyone knew she was an unstable bitch. She didn't want everyone thinking every cold they got was because she was screwing with them.
She had a home for the first in . . . well, maybe her whole life. The could destroy her here. They might even ask her to leave. Magneto was starting to trust her, and she wanted to stay! So Lorna had stopped walking and asked him out right if he was going to keep her secret.

Lorna sat in the watch tower by herself. She was propped up on the rail, and looking out in the distance. A flannel blanket was around her shoulders, but it wasn't that chilly. It still gave her some comfort. Pyro should have been here, but after her dramtic trashing of his place last night, she kinda owed him so she was covering for him while he met up with his boy toy again. Sharing was hard, but Lorna was trying. She might not have reacted that way had she not been blindsided that night.
Her phone was floating around her hands mindlessly as she thought about how he had wanted to be there more then here. She tried to remind herself that he wasn't picking. He could like spending time with more then one person. After a few hours of this she took her phone from the air and typed a text out. I hate being alone. I was alone my whole childhood. Mom didn't want me. Step-Dad didn't want me. I don't want to be alone. It was more then she'd ever said allowed, but it was the truth. She didn't mean alone up here, she meant . . . she didn't want to loose her friend. Sorry I trashed your place. I can fix it.

She knew it was ironic that her hair and powers were green and the emotion she had the most trouble with was jealously. Maybe she was fated to be this bitch who was going to spend her life alone because she drove everyone else away! But her implusitvness was something she'd always struggled with. She'd tried to curb it but there were times that it was harder then others. Like now!
She wanted to be by her father's side. She wanted him to love her! She wanted him to be proud of her and favor her! BUT WHO DID HE TAKE? SELENE! HE TOOK HER! Magneto was going to the mainland to talk to government people about mutant right and he took HER and not Polaris! NOT even them both! JUST HER! Lorna picked up something in her room and threw it at the wall before throwing her body on the bed. Lorna had a lot of mental health troubles, and many of them stemmed from her childhood. Neglected and abused, she wasn't the most stable person. She had tried to read self help books, and WANTED to get better. Training with Magneto had helped a lot, but there were still times when she felt like a mess.
Picking up her phone she sent a text, Hope you had fun. Then dropped her phone on the bed. Then picked it up and threw it across the room! He would know she wasn't meaning it honestly. As soon as she sent it she hated herself. Kicking the bed with her feet she used her powers to bring the phone back but it wouldn't let her delete it. Growling in anger she threw it again, this time it ht the wall. The screen cracked. "@&%$!!!!"

Lorna sat on the curb, her arms covered in black ash and her hair a wild mess, while she tiredly stared at the wreckage. Pyro, her best friend, sat beside her in equal exhaustion. They had one job, and one rule. Magneto had said "do not make a spectacle of things". And this . . . this was a spectacle. She turned to look at Pyro about to blame him for this but then noticed her hair was slightly smoking. Pulling ti around to her she patted it out and then glared at him. While he might not have started it, the fire was defiantly his fault!
Her phone went all and she took a deep breath. Oh, he was going to be pissed. Pulling it out Lorna looked at it. Was everyone ok? Looking up at the firemen still putting out the fire in the stage she looked down at her phone. No one is dead. While she guessed was a small miracle. She sent another, NOT MY FAULT! They were trying to get people to out their kids and put them on a regertsy! I tore up the paper and they started pushing and a riot broke out and then the stage caught fire! And then the police showed up in riot gear! No one figured out we were mutants though. Which was why she was still sitting here. She knew they hadn't started the fire but Pyro had made sure it came out big enough to make everyone run in fear, and the list burned.
Moving to look at Pyro she nudged him. "Milkshakes?" He nodded and they got up to walk to get milkshakes before heading back home.

Maybe he wasn't drunk enough. "What do you remember about your mother?" Maybe he was too drunk. Lorna reached over and took the drink from Pyro's hand and dropped it the long way to the ground. They were sitting on a water tower, with their legs dangling over the edge. She hadn't thought they had been drinking that much but if he was asking her about her mother then too little was too much. She reached between them and took a handful of cheese its, planning to ignore the question.
After a very long silent few minutes she spoke up, not even sure why she was answering. "I remembered wanting her to love me. I remember her ignoring me. I remember her looking at me and making this face . . . like I knew it meant she was tired of looking at me." She tossed her own drink to the ground, letting ti shatter all over the pavement below. If she was walking then it was too much too. "She used pills to deal with whatever was in her head, and bobbed between too high to care, and too tired of dealing with me to care. I remember her watching my step-dad hit me and she just didn't care. She didn't blink. She didn't like it, she didn't hate it. She just didn't care."
She didn't look at him, moving her arms to rest on the arm rail that was in front of her. "What about you?"

Lorna's powers were different from her father's. Magneto had the power to control metal. He felt it. He could find it. Lorna controlled the magnetic fields, which meant she didn't feel the metal, she could only manipulate it. It was why she hadn't felt the metal coming her way before it hit her in her in the back and stabbed through her to come out of her chest. Ironic, that metal would be what killed her, after all she'd done with it in her life.
They were fighting at one of the secretly owned mutant testing sites. They were supposed to be illegal, but somehow they kept popping up. This was was testing on children, and they had gone in hot to take it down. Seeing the wall of sorviners from mutants they'd killed in testing, Magneto had gotten angry and . . . well, Lorna should have known better then to try to stay sot close to him. She was more worried with being there by his side then what was happening around her. So when she stepped up, she got caught in the cross fire.
At first the metal held her there, but using her powers she moved it out of her. That seemed like a smart idea, but then the blood started coming faster, and her body grew cold. Her knees buckled, as she fell to the ground. She thought it should have hurt more, but she acutely didn't feel too much pain. She must be in shock. It was hard to breath, but other then that she didn't feel too much. Not fear or sadness, not pain.

The doctor was about to get a face full of metal. Folding her arms over her chest she ground her feet and refused to move. "You're going to get sick!" the doctor growled at her, but he didn't look scary with his face and hands covered with a mask and gloves to protect him. Lorna however wore nothing for protection. She had a hidden power. One she didn't use often, and no one knew about. Lorna didn't get sick, she made people sick. Which meant when people got sick she always (very secretly) wondered if it was her making them that way. "I'll risk it." She snapped back at him. "Why do you even care!" Why indeed. Lorna wasn't the soft touchy feely one. People got sick, whatever. But this sickness was taking out a lot of the mutants here and everyone knew that some might not make it. A hazard of living here meant meds weren't close by. They had to make do. "Just do your job and stop bitchin' at me!" She snapped back.
The doctor huffed and walked always. Lorna finally relaxed her stance and turned to walk toward one bed. Pyro had gotten sick too, and while Lorna felt worry for one of the first times in her life that she might actually lose someone. Sitting by the bed she picked up the rag of cold water and put it on his forehead. "If you die, I am gonna to kill you." She muttered to him, but her tone wasn't angry. It was worried. She wished she could do more then copy the sickness, and pull it out of him. She hated the idea that this could have been her. She didn't know this sickness, but who knew what she did in her sleep when the nightmares came. This was why she told no one. Not Pyro. No Magneto. This was on her. Tossing the rag away, Lorna touched his cheek softly to see if he felt any cooler.

"So stupid." She muttered as she kept looking for her friend. They had watch duty tonight and he was supposed to be there but he was late. Which meant that she was going to be late because Lorna didn't like to do things alone. Walking up to his door she waved her hand to let herself in and stomped toward the bed room. If he was freakin' sleeping while she was out here in the middle of the night looking for him then he would be hearing her bitch about all night long! He better be dying!
She got to the bedroom door and again just waved her hand to open it--the power of having most of this place metal meant she had a great deal of control here. Magneto had pulled most of this stuff up from the ocean around them and the people here had turned it into life. Walking into the room she found John knelling between some dude's legs and going to town.
"THIS IS WHY YOU'RE LATE!" She screamed, anger exploded in and she screamed a angry scream as everything int he bedroom moved back from her! "GET YOUR ASS DRESSED!" turning she stormed out of the room, and stood there. She grabbed something off of the table and threw it, then threw something else. Screaming again everything in the room once again moved away from her! She knew she was jealous and hurt. She even knew why and it pissed her off even more! She didn't want John in her bed.
But a boyfriend meant she was't going to be his favorite person any more. He'd eventually pick him over her. Everyone always picked someone else over her. They always left. "GET OUT HERE!" She yelled, wanting to go to watch where he HAD to spend time with her. "DRESSED!" Part of her wanted to tell him off and tell him she'd take watch and he could stay here and be freaky! Push him away before he could leave. Yet part of her didn't want to be alone. She hated being alone.
