Lorna ignored his words and let the metal grow closer to him. He didn't seem to care that she was a mini-second from attacking him! He didn't seem braced to stop her! He was just going to let her do it! It angered her that he didn't seem to care that she was about to force his hand! Would he even fight back? Would he even stop her?! Lorna let them grow closer, and closer. Until they almost touched him.
Before she knew she couldn't do it. She couldn't hurt him. He was all she had left. Stepping back Lorna let out a frustrated scream, and the metal few away from them--some lodging into the buildings around them, and she hoped none found a person. Though, nor did she look to see if they did. She was bend over, hands on her knees and breathing franticly.
Slowly she stood up to look at her father. He had asked her how. Her vison blurred and she blinked the wetness away--which only made it fall. After wiping away the traitorous wetness, she gluped down a deep breath. "Because I made him sick. I poisoned him." But that wasn't it. It was half truths and almost. "Because I can do more then control then control the metal around me."
"I did it too my step-Dad too. I made it too sick to come at me. If I get around someone that is sick, it's like my body remembers it. It can change it and make it worse. Then, I can give it back to others."

"I am not ashamed of you, Lorna," He said it so casually. "I am not ashamed of you, Lorna," The words kept echoing in her head. "I am not ashamed of you, Lorna," each time she hear the words in his voice they meant more to her then when he called her his family. "I am not ashamed of you, Lorna," She had spent her whole like knowing that her mother and f--step-father were ashamed of her, and hated her powers and now . . . "I am not ashamed of you, Lorna," He just said it. He just came out and said it. And Magneto didn't lie. He never lied, even when they hated it when he didn't. "I am not ashamed of you, Lorna,"
Looking down at her shoes she tried to let them soak in. Tried not to think about what might happen if she did make him ashamed of her. Lorna knew she was a hot mess, and yeah, she wanted to get better but she also didn't know how. She had ended up pushing everyone away and making them hate her. What if she did the same with him? "I am not ashamed of you, Lorna," Failing with him wasn't an option.
"I am not ashamed of you, Lorna," "You'd be the first then." Admitting that wasn't hard, but hearing his words were. Not hard as in a unwanted feeling, but hard as in she wanted them too much. Magneto went on the talk about his family and getting out. "You were alone then? When you got out? How did you not turn out . . . coo-coo for coco puffs?" She asked, honestly wanting to know. "I am not ashamed of you, Lorna," She needed to know his answer. It might be the only thing that let her hear these words again.

Lorna froze and could only stare at him. Her eyes were slightly widened, and her lips parted in a almost jaw dropped reaction. He called her his family. Magneto. Thought. of. Her. Like. His. Family. It was one thing to think of him as her family, and know that they were--but hearing that he did too was heavy, and powerful. Blinking a few times, she recovered as best as she could. Nodding slowly, Lorna tried to shrug but the heavy knowledge made it more of a twitch. "Yeah, cool." She whispered with her voice cracking. "Mine too. My family I mean."
"I mean, mine's not dead but they might as well be." Clearing her through again, she inhaled deeply. It helped her recover more. Sitting up more, but keeping her legs crossed she let the silence hang for a moment after that. "So am I like . . . allowed to tell people that I'm your kid, then?" She wanted it to be open knowledge. She wanted everyone to know. "Did any of your other family live? Or are still alive? Or were you the only one to make it out of the concentration camp?"

He would not? Lorna stood there breathing deeply, as she stared at him. He was refusing to fight her. To hurt her. Looking over at the weapons made of metal that she had circling them she knew she would have to make the first move. Force his hand. "I'll make you." She threatened.
Reaching up to wipe her face she moved a step closer and had the metal grow still as it slowly narrowed in toward him. "Stop me." She asked him again, needing to feel the anger, and hurt to help her escape the pain inside. Needing to be able to focus on anything but the crazy that was at war inside her. The pain to distract her from her pain.
Taking another step closer she held up her hands, knowing that if he didn't call her bluff soon, she would either have to do it . . . or admit she couldn't. She'd have to face herself and that would be worse. She needed to make him. "I put Pyro in that bed. I nearly killed him. So stop me! Before I do it to you."

Lorna watched him as he hid the tattoo on his arm. Seven. While she had been in a camp or anything, it made her think they had the same pattern for their early years. She had a good life until she began showing powers. Her Mom hadn't been the most attentive, but she hadn't hated her. It suddenly had gotten bad.
He told her his family died. She imagined that meant they hadn't died naturally but had been killed. From what little she knew about places like that, it wouldn't have been a easy death. He looked at her, and she straightened her shoulders a little. He then added on that they had not all died. "Some of them lived?" She asked, wondering about the family he had out there. "Why are they not here?" Did they not approve? Were they human?!
She knew that everyone here had human parents, or at least one human parent. They were common enough now that they could begin finding others like them but before this, it had been more rare. Maybe he had a brother or sister. Maybe they were human. "Are they the ones in the locket?" She knew they weren't. She already decided the pictures were of dead people, but he had skipped that question and she was still trying to get answers.

He kept coming closer, and his words kept getting under her skin. He asked if she was trying to hurt him, or herself. It was the truth so plainly spoken before her, and she hated the way it didn't make sense when he said it allowed. It had been so clear in her head. Now everything was muddy.
Magneto took another step toward her and she reached out her hand, using her powers to give the metal on his clothing a slight push to keep him back--though she knew that it was pointless. He was stronger, and she hadn't pushed very hard. Dropping the metal around her, she took a half step back. Turning from him Lorna looked around, for an exit or escape, before turning back to face him. He was so close now.
Lowering her voice, Lorna sounded defeated. "I want you to hurt me." She admitted, before holding out her hand and making the metal began circling them both. Maybe hurting her body would stop the hurting in her body. It would over power it, and she could move on from it. Her green eyes narrowed at her father, and green smoke like plasma danced around her fingers. She didn't want to fight him, or hurt him. She wanted him to attack first and end this.

Talk about it? Please. She was the crazy bitch that everyone already hated. Her secondary power was growing stronger, and she had nearly killed the only person on Earth that willingly picked her to be his friend. Pryo was a bat shit as she was sometimes and she knew this wouldn't go unanswered. If someone had nearly killed her she would want blood too. It was all she knew how to do. The only way to protect herself. Be the biggest dog in the fight, or you were in for a world of hurt.
"I don't need to talk." What good did talking do? It changed nothing. In her heighten state of panic and fear, and more emotions then she could handle--she was forgetting that talking to him did make things easier. Helped her move from reacting to things like a kid to handling herself better. Right now she only could think about hurting someone--or maybe letting them hurt her. "I need to be stopped." Before she hurt someone she lov--liked. Before she killed someone she didn't want to live without.

His reply wasn't exactly one she was ready for. After a childhood of being ignored, having her hero offer her a seat made her hesitate. More from shock he wanted to talk to her. Lorna moved to take the seat he offered, not missing hos he moved his chair so effortlessly. Goals.
She used her hands to lift her hips so she could cross her legs under her, and lean her elbows on her knees. A relaxed, but slightly eager, mannerism. While Lorna was street smart--she lacked book smarts, yet she knew what Auschwitz and concentration camps were. Though not the full details. "How old were you?" She asked in a tone that was very un-Lorna. Gone was the sarcasm and thinly veiled anger at the world.
His other words filtered in as well. He had a family. She had more family? Were they human or mutants like them? "What happened to your family?" Could she meet them one day? Would he let her? Would they even want to know her? What id they hated her?

There was two things Lorna didn't do. That she rather die then do. Apologize and cry. Both were humilating and she refused to anything that made her weak. Today . . .
Today she did both . . .
Her undoing had began months before, when her only friend (and the only person on the planet who seemed to openly enjoy being around her) had found out about her . . . other . . . powers. It had been the only time she'd said please since she was a kid. 'Please don't tell'. And he hadn't. She wasn't stupid. She knew that if anyone but Pryo learned of her other power the 'hate and fear' they hid would turn into the open hate and fear. Her personality already did that enough--knowing she could build a plague tailored to make them sick and die would make them kick her out. Which was what happened with Pryo.
Lorna sat by Pyro's bed side for days while waiting to find out if he would live for not. He had been her best--and well only--friend for almost 9 years now. Out of everyone on this planet, he was one of the last--and well only--people she didn't want to hurt on this planet. In fact there might only be two people. After what felt like years, but in truth had only been days, his fever broke and he started to come around. At that Lorna left his bed side, not able to look at her friend. Pyro knew about the powers, and was the only one on Earth who did. After he opened his eyes she apologized, "I'm so sorry," and left before he could tell her to F-off or try to set her on fire or something--or worse, tell her they were done.
She stubbled outside, her hands shaking. Fumbling over to the side of the makeshift building she fell against it. Feeling something cold on her cheek, she reached up and touched it. Tears. Pushing from the ground she began running. She wanted to hurt someone, to make her hurting stop. She wanted to tear someone's world apart so they hate for for that and not for almost killing her friend. She wanted . . . she wanted . . . She wanted to stop feeling.
As she moved, she saw Erik Lehnsherr walking between buildings. She was strong with her powers. She knew he would be one of the few here on the island that could stop her. She wanted to be stopped. Her eyes blurred, and she blinked back tears. She would not cry now! Her fingers turned green and she began staking the metal around her. He could stop her. She needed to be stopped.
He was her father.
She couldn't do it. She couldn't attack him. Dropping the metal she stood there. Knowing he saw her. Not knowing what to do now.

Lorna dug her heel into the ground, and found her leg moving a little from the edginess she felt, but she wasn't about to admit it. "Yeah, I wouldn't tell me either." She said, her tone sarcastic, but held a flat almost bitterness undertone. She knew that she was screwed up. Sometimes knowing it hurt, sometimes it was just matter of fact. "I didn't really inherit the whole--" she waved her hand at his stillness (both in body and words) "--statue-ness."
Pushing to stand up she left his hat on her head--fully planning to keep it now--and folded her hands over her chest. "I wasn't looking for anything." Which was true, sort of. She had wanted to get to know him. "I was just looking." Learning what she could about him. Her father.
Which left her with wondering what he'd do with her now. So far she'd learned he liked hats, and kept a locket of people she didn't know. Since she didn't know them, she imagined they were dead. People didn't hide lockets of people they were still alive. Deciding she was already dug her own grave, Lorna figured she might as well cover it to0. "You're Polish or something right? That's were you got your numbers on your arm from." The first part she had meant to ask, but the later part had just came out. Shifting her weight she tried to back step a little. "I was curious."

Lorna didn't exactly go out of her way to impress people, deciding instead that if she held them all at a distance then they were both safer. However, after learning her hero was her father she was . . . trying. And while she might be bad at it, she was--for the first time in her life--making an effort and working toward not being . . . well, not being the angry teenager she was.
Which was why, on this special day, she had asked him to come over. It was the biggest step she had made--making him food. Rejection wouldn't sit well with her, and he was already looking hesitant. "Don't be stubborn. Try it!" She just managed to say without it sounding like a snap. Today of all days this had to go right. They hadn't exactly ever bonded over small talk but today was her birthday. She knew he didn't know that, and Lorna didn't really plan to tell him. However, for the first time since her hair began to turn green and her powers shown up--she was celebrating it. Sort of.
Lorna watched him, waiting for him to try it. The meal wasn't special. She needed something simple to make in order to not screw it up. AND since she hadn't know how to boil water before this week, she's made the same meal 3 times in order to make sure she could. It was as much effort as she had put in to anything in her whole life. Thankfully all she had really had to do was open a can of Spaghetti-Os, heat it up and add in something called basil.

Lorna's [hone went off and she sat on the floor with her back resting on the wall and glared at it. Not many people texted her first so she knew it was a reply. Without looking she could already imagine what it would say. She wasn't trained enough, or her temper wasn't battle ready. She wasn't enough. That was the bottle line. She wasn't enough.
The green plasma formed on her finger tips as her phone floated to her. It was about need. That was all she read before she squeeze her phone in her hand and used her powers to fling things around in her room. He didn't need her! He didn't need her by his side! She screamed and kicked her leg. It took her a few minutes to reply. She felt angry, and hurt, and like she was that weak useless kid back in her mother's house. She wanted to hurt him back, but knew words didn't hurt him. I get it. I don't need you either. she told him, before throwing her phone again. Her hands shook, and she looked down at them. She hated knowing he had this power over her. She hated anyone having it.

Polaris was a BAMF and she knew it. She'd been raised during the 'no one knew what mutants were' generation. Her mother tried to ignore her and pretend she hadn't given birth to a green hair freak. Her step-father had the bright idea that he could beat the devil out of her--because that was were her powers came from. She'd ran away when she was too young to be on her own and stumbled upon the Hellfire club. Their leader Shaw was dead but one of his followers still believed in the idea of mutants being the next evolution. If they wanted to survive they needed to get ride of the humans, the weaker bloodline, and rise to power. It was a heady thought.
After the years Polaris trained and built up her power. She was strong, and eventually stronger then anyone at the club. It wasn't long before she took over. While the old leaders had sought to breed their thinking into everyone but not take radical action--Polaris wasn't so lazy. She believed. She would seek power the only way she knew how to get it--by force. It wasn't long before she found more like minded friends to surround herself with. One of which, Pyro, because her second and best friend. Their maniacal chaoticness made them a force that the humans couldn't deal with.
The new mutant president might want peace, and acceptance, but Polaris knew the truth. If a woman who had given birth to her, nursed her as a baby, and loved her at first couldn't accept her---the humans would never. They might pretend while the mutants made their lives easier. But once they begin to see mutants taking the jobs they wanted, and the lives they felt they should have had . . . . then the mutants would want her.
Her most recent adventure into human submission was when she and her followers attacked a hospital that a doctor worked at. He had once worked on 'the cure' and they knew he wouldn't stop. You didn't stop people like that. You killed them. So that was what they did.

Lorna, or Polaris around here from most people, was doing many jobs. Her powers made it easy to be a strong pair hands--or well would be hands if she actually lifted anything with them. In truth she was just using her powers here and there to hep make need jobs go faster. Since training with Magneto she was growing more and more in control of her powers. She was finding it easier to move small things with detail--like nails--and accuracy. Which was harder then big things, and she wasn't sure why but she was getting damn good!
Today she was helping the peeps building some of the non metal houses. Even these wooden houses needed a lot of metal work. While she hadn't broken a sweat a break was still welcome. She didn't like to work all day, and part of her much rather spend it training and working to fight--though it had been pointed out to her that these were the only needed jobs right now. There was also---"FUCK!" She yelled as water splashed all over her!
"ARE YOU A MORON?" Lorna snapped, and stepped back as she shook her shirt! UGH! Looking up at him she glared, and wanted to throw something at his head! Taking a few slow breaths she stood up tall and narrowed her eyes at him. Was he even going to apologize?! "Enjoying the show, asshole?" Wet shirt and decent boobs. Yeah, she bet the quite little perv was.

Lorna could have taken the cash and disappeared, or hell, she didn't even have to disappear--what was the guy gonna do? Come at her for it? She knew that with her powers that wasn't going to be much of a fight. Though if he found out she was a freak then she'd have to leave town again. Since she wanted more money, and this was a easy job however, she came back with his share of the money and would exchange it for more.
She didn't take drugs. Lorna wasn't a smart kid but she knew she wasn't the most stable emotionally. Her issues plus her powers plus drugs that made her loopy? Yeah, she didn't need a high school degree to know that math was dumb.
Walking to the ally she slowed her step when she noticed more people lurking back a ways. They didn't look like the cops. Stopping a bit further then normal she tossed the cash to the guy. "Toss me the shit, so I can get out of here." She said clearly angry that he had others here.

She could play nice! She was playing nice right now! Lorna wasn't cheating at pool, and she was actually trying to not make the guy (whatever his name was) look like an idiot. She knew Pyro liked him, and she was trying not make an ass of herself. Pyro was her friend, and she reacted badly that once she walked in on them. She wasn't even jealous of the sex--just the idea that if he fell in love then he might leave her. She didn't like being alone. She wasn't ready to be alone again.
That was before the boy toy started pouting and then demanding to talk. She knew Pyro liked him, but she didn't like him. Not just because he took up time with her friend but because she wanted someone who was better for him. She knew of his past, and she wanted someone who wasn't as needy as her. Someone better then this guy. Someone who made him happy--and that didn't mind her being there all the time.
Lorna propped the pool stick on the ground and turned to look at them. She wasn't stupid. She knew were this was going. "Might as well say what you gonna say." she snapped out.

Huh, maybe they had more in common then some thought. Lorna wasn't really used to seeing him sarcastic so it kind of made her smile at little. Look at that, maybe she wasn't born with it. "Thanks it's my Dads." She said and then mentally braced herself. She hadn't ever referred to him as her father before, not without warning and in such a casual context. She didn't really know how he would react. Bracing herself didn't mean she looked away though, as she wasn't a coward.
Until he out right asked her what she was doing though, Lorna wasn't going to offer up the information. So instead she just pretended that this was a normal conversation. "You got a hat thing? Cause you have a lot of hats. This was really retro." She pointed to the one on her head. Picking up the helmet she used her powers to float it from one hand to the other casually fidgeting with it. And since she didn't really expect him to reply about the hats she kept going, her voice curious but not guilty. Which in a way summed Lorna up. She had never learned to be sorry for what she did since breathing had been one of the reasons her Not-Dad had used to beat her. "Who's in the picture?" She asked, "The people in the locket." The photos looked old.

One moment she was there with the necklace floating before her and the next she felt it tugged away from a force stronger then what her powers were using to hold it up. "Shit," she jumped in surprise and her knee slammed into the chest, knocking the helmet to the side and the kid closing. OW! Turning she sat on the closed chest and turned to look at HIM. Her father by blood and mentor by choice. She knew she should look guilty and try to talk her way out of this but Lorna didn't admit guilt and she didn't back down from a fight. Even if it was a mental one.
"You snuck up on me!" She accused, without any heat to her voice. The hat had tilted on her head, and she sat there rubbing her knees (which didn't hurt too much) while looking up at him. Clearly the people in the necklace were important. She had two choices: admit she was snooping and tell him she just wanted to know him--or ignore it. It did't take but 2 seconds to commit to plan B. Ignoring it. "Did you get the farm land planned? I found the fencing stuff, and can put it up tomorrow." Yeah, that was the right move!
