As Bobby spoke, recollection set in. The cure. That was what they had been fighting against. And, unsuccessfully from the sounds of it. When Bobby spoke of Jean, it just added the other element of the battle that ensued between mutants and humans. And even then, between mutants. A civil war amongst them. X-Men versus Brotherhood. Was there even a clear winner? They had lost Xavier and . . . Magneto? Bobby referred to him but didn't say anything about his whereabouts. Pyro supposed that so long as Magneto was alive, so was the Brotherhood. And in turn . . . John would have somewhere to go. Because, he sure as hell couldn't stay here. "How many made it off?" He asked, trying to be as nonchalant as he could but truth was, he cared. Despite whatever cold exterior he put up, he did care. He had made a snide remark about Charles death but had been quickly put into place.
Yes. He was concerned about the well being of the others he had bonded with and . . . though he would never admit it, not even to himself, there was an undeniable comfort to see Bobby. And knowing that he was near, meant Pyro was in a safe place. At least for the time being. But when he added on that he had been the one to bring him here . . . Pyro turned his head away from the other mutant. He remembered. He remembered exactly what had happened. "From headbutting me to saving me." Despite Pyro's aggressive actions towards Bobby, he knew that he wouldn't have actually been able to kill him. Clearly, the feeling was mutual. Taking a risk to look at the other while he said his next words, Pyro turned to hold the other's gaze, still working to keep his tone casual. "Why'd you do it?" Why did he save him?

Pyro smirked with amusement when Bobby warned him that Scott might just murder him with a death glare. He could see that. Scott seemed to be the kind of person who would glare, and potentially give a long winded lecture about responsibility. Wouldn't be the first time he'd heard it. "Good thing I can't actually see his eyes then," John said sarcastically, though not without truth. The man wore protective gear due to his mutation. Saved Pyro the need to make eye contact when talking to him. "Either that, or he'll just kill me with boredom from one of his lectures." A vocalization of his earlier thoughts of how mundane and tedious it was to hear the teachers giving them a talk. Listening to that was in itself, punishment enough.
When Bobby agreed, Pyro grinned, clearly not about to let his friend get back to studying so quickly but would say whatever he could to appease him. "Yeah alright." Clear disinterest in his tone when it came to the topic of studying; whether it was Bobby or John. Truth was, Pyro was bored. And Bobby was the person he was closest with in the entire school. Perhaps, in his entire life. He found himself wanting to spend more time in his company which, often caused confusion amongst others considering their contrasting personalities. But, as the saying goes . . . opposites attract. And there was something attracting John to Bobby's company indeed. The depth of it, was still unknown. Or perhaps, just unspoken. John couldn't help but chuckle at his friend's reaction, taking the offered bottle in his hand.
"Well, you're officially part of the crime so you'll be going down with me," he said teasingly, as he took a rather large swig of the drink. Swallowing it, he features slightly twisted, feeling the burn of it but it felt pretty damn good. "You need to lighten up anyway," he continued to tease. "Let loose a little. There's more to life than school and studying." With that, Pyro casually slid to the side on the desk, 'accidentally' -- but really purposefully -- knocking Bobby's books and notes to the ground. He glanced at them and looked back at Bobby with a feigned innocent expression, a slight shrug of shoulders and a look as if to say Whoops though there was not an ounce of remorse that went along with it. The hint of mischief remained on his face as he took another large drink, before offering the bottle back to Bobby.

Pyro watched the mutant fly into view as the others deplaned. He looked over the woman as she commented on the crowd. "You're not anything special," he told her. Just because they weren't going to have a fight, didn't mean he was going to be all warm and welcoming. "We'd do this for anyone who's an outsider." Which, was exactly what she was. All mutants were welcome, but that didn't mean they were instantly trusting of them. The Brotherhood was in place here for a reason; to protect the other civilians of Genosha.
It was exactly why they didn't like people from the outside, but because they had known she was coming . . . they were well prepared. Pyro watched the other mutants come out of the aircraft, some new mutants to reside, others were Brotherhood who had originally gone. Magneto said a few words to the crowd before going to help the new arrivals settle into their new home. Which meant, Pyro was stuck with babysitting duty. "If you're staying here you can go with the others," he told her. But he didn't see her bring any bags or belongings. So either she didn't have any, or she wasn't staying.

John's smile was unwavering. Hell, he was even a bit smug that he had swiped it from the kitchen. "Yup," he answered proudly, looking at the bottle with a grin before making his way to Bobby's desk. Once there, he closed his books and pushed them to the side while responding to Bobby's next words. "Let him," he said uncaring of the consequences from Scott. There weren't exactly any professors here that John particularly liked. Scott was low on the list indeed. Too strict. Too disciplinary. And well, Pyro didn't do well with that kind of authority.
He turned to look back at his friend, pulling out the switch blade from his pocket to cut the wrapper from the top. "What are they gonna do, expel me?" He asked sarcastically. Expelling students wasn't exactly the norm here. Especially since some of the mutants didn't have anywhere else to go. Pyro hated to admit that he was one of those people. Peeling the wrapper off, he hopped up on the desk, sitting on the edge of it and opening the cap. "Here, I'll even let you have the first drink," he said, holding out the bottle to Bobby, as if he wasn't going to take no for an answer. In this opinion, he was helping his friend out by taking the edge off; taking a break from all this stress of studying.

This place was already looking a hell of a lot better than the school. He had tried, but just couldn't do it anymore. He needed the freedom. Needed the ability to use his powers when he wanted and how he wanted. He just . . . needed to get away from everyone at that place, and very specific people too. Genosha, seemed like the best alternative. The Brotherhood biews were something he could certainly get behind and intended to. For the first time in his life, he felt as if he was somewhere he belonged. He only hoped that it lasted, and he would not find the same . . . challenges here, that he found at Xavier's. It seemed promising though, and after chatting with Magneto, it gave Pyro even more hope that he could settle here. He would be trained with the Brotherhood, serve as a makeshift military for the island. They would after all need to prepare for outside threats, as Magneto pointed out. Right now however, he was going to be given a small "tour" of the place.
By someone named Polaris, or as someone else had pointed out: the girl with the green hair. She was easy enough to find, even though Pyro didn't need a babysitter. She was outside in the main area so he just casually walked up to her, not really caring if she showed him around or not. He just . . . knew he should follow what was suggested. Unlike Xavier's, this was not one place he wanted to so quickly get kicked out of. "Unless there's someone else around here with green hair, I take it you're Polaris. You're supposed to show me around." He wasn't asking, or telling. Merely, relaying the message of what she was supposed to do. But Pyro knew all too well that one didn't always follow the rules or expectations. That a person didn't always do what was told, and life tended to be more exciting that way.

Pyro made a face at her seemingly intelligent words, clearly unimpressed or unphased by them. "People also say to mind your own business," he retorted, not bothering to think of anything overly smart to say back. He was still getting over the fact that she'd scared him half to death. And in some weird way, was trying to avoid her, not even sure how to explain where he was going. Lorna was his closest friend here, but that also made it . . . weird. "Out," he answered bluntly, knowing that trying to step around her wasn't going to work -- even though he did try and failed.
His answer was insufficient; she didn't even have to point that out. "I'm just going to meet a friend in the city," he admitted, making it sound as non chalant as possible. "And no, you can't come." Before she asked. It wasn't as if he was going to a club, or to a mission or anything like that. If he was, she would forever be his first choice to bring . . . then again, they often teamed up anyway. But his time, he was going solo, and for good reason.
