Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION Magneto knew this wasn't going to be an easy conversation given Lorna's . . . personality. But he had to have it well before she would inevitably meet Magda. Lorna was a part of his life; a big part of it. "I do not get involved in your and Pyro's games." For lack of a better word. Pyro and Lorna always seemed to have this little pranks going on and Magneto wasn't about to take part in it, wanting that to be known considering Lorna's question of him being paid to say this.
"You know me well enough to know that I don't do anything at random," he responded calmly. Magneto was often meticulous when it came to planning; calculated. And getting married was not something he would leap into. For some time, he never even thought he would get married. But Magda had changed that. She changed quite a bit. Though he knew that the shock was fair; Magneto's past with Magda wasn't exactly common knowledge. And he had not even gotten to the part of revealing that Magda was not a mutant. Though he couldn't help but think of something else Lorna had said; that he had decided to do this all on his own. "Should I have consulted you first?" He asked both rhetorically and perhaps with a bit of genuine curiousity.

Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION Erik had been reading a book in the study, engrossed in the material but the sudden cry from his wife immediately broke him from it. He leaped out of the chair and raced upstairs, nearly colliding into her as she held Anya. She told him to check on Nina and Erik questioned nothing. He raced to her room, throwing open the door and putting on the light. There was no one. No one other than Nina who stirred in her sleep. Erik thoroughly checked the room, every corner, every possible space that someone could be in. He looked out the window, but was still not satisfied. Assured that the room was clear however, he motioned for Magda to come in.
"Wait here," he instructed, closing the door behind him. Erik was not satisfied with simply checking one room; he needed to check the entire house. For this, was perhaps his worst nightmare. That he would be found and it would pose a threat to his family. Having been on the run for all those years had put him on edge . . . but also made him all too aware of his surroundings. The years spent here, caused that heightened awareness to slowly ebb as his body and mind relaxed into this peaceful lifestyle. But, moments such as these, caused it all to come flooding back. He checked the entirety of the house, sparing no corner unchecked.
He stepped outside, walking around the house before standing incredibly still, taking in every sound. Every detail. Despite the darkness, he listened for the quietest of footsteps. The slightest rustle. Half already planning out an escape route for them. But, there was no one. And he made sure of that. When he was certain, he made his way back into the house, closing and locking the door behind him. Moving up the stairs he returned to Nina's room where he saw his two daughters and a still shaking Magda. "What did you see?" He asked calmly as he approached Magda, putting an arm around her in attempt to comfort her from her state.

Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION He took in her words and while he appreciated them, they were . . . bittersweet. She reminded him of so much about his past, and perhaps was the only one that drew better memories than any other reminders. He tried to keep his emotions contained, but just as lying was futile when it came to Magda, so was suppressing how he felt. Still, he held his stoic nature and looked at her, letting her words absorb in the form of comfort within him.
"Thank you," he said appreciatively when she spoke of how he was always welcome here. She was right about that though. For while he knew his fellow mutants brothers and sisters were 'family', no one came as close to it as Magda . . . and she was not even a mutant. Which was not something he even considered a barrier in this battle against humanity.
"Perhaps you're right," he began to tell her. "You too, were the closest I had to family since my childhood." Since his parents. "Perhaps, if things had been different . . ." He took another sip of his tea, a small smile on his lips, thinking fondly of the time they had together despite the way it ended. The circumstances had not been ideal, just as these ones were not either. And he would not put her through that again.

Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION Erik continued to quietly listen as Magda explained that Selene had only known cause Magda had said something. It still didn't quite make sense as to why it was causing Magda to react this way but as she went on, as she reached for his hand, it started to come together. Selene thought she was a mutant. Erik just looked at Magda, letting his mind process this information. Surely, Selene would not say it unless she absolutely believed it to be true. Selene was a telepath; she could see inside of people's minds, and that gave her more credibility to make such a claim than most. And yet, rationality sunk in. Magda was older than most mutants who's powers manifested as a young age.
Yet . . . Erik was far from an expert when it came to genetic mutation. He did his research, he did the science . . . but he knew there was so much more that he didn't understand. That no one understood. So he just looked at her, knowing that it had been some time since she had told him, since he had said something. Could it really be truly? Was she a mutant with the gift of precognition? They had yet to encounter anyone with such a gift . . . yet the shock of it all was causing Erik to remain quiet. His mind still absorbing the information while it spun with so many questions at the same time. "What exactly did she say?" He needed to know all the information before knowing how to proceed. His other hand went on top of hers that held his, in reassurance. That . . . if she truly was a mutant, then they would figure it out together. After all, it was a good thing. A very good thing.

Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION Erik was following along as Magda was telling him all that had happened. None of it seemed out of the ordinary but there was something that was very clearly upsetting -- or scaring -- Magda. Which one it was, he wasn't entirely certain. Knowing that everyone was alright -- physically at least -- reassured him that he didn't have to go and check on things. That he could stay here and calm down his wife from whatever was troubling her.
Magda spoke of how she knew that Lorna was about to get angry and well, that wasn't entirely a surprise since Lorna getting angry was a common occurrence. But there was clearly more to it, revealed when Magda said that it was what happened afterwards. Erik made sure not to interrupt, or dismiss her feelings about it. It took a great deal to bring Magda to this level and he intended to find out exactly what had caused this upset of emotion. Fortunately, they were sitting. "What happened after?" He asked softly, not asking or commenting on anything else so that she could get it all out in one go. The questions or remarks would certainly come afterwards.

Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION Life in Geonsha was fairly peaceful; more peaceful than Erik ever thought he would be capable of living. The island was truly turning into a home; a mutant nation. Strong. Isolated. And growing more with the population of those who wished to live in a mutant sanctuary, free of the threat of humans. They were established here and Erik had grand plan for this place. To turn what was now a quaint island into a self sustaining city. It would take time, but they were well on track. Today however, he spent mostly with his youngest daughter, Anya. He took her out to explore the area, Nina joining them for a little while until she went off to play with a friend. A human friend.
That was something else that Magneto had wanted for his family; for Nina. To not be cut off from others like her and here, she wasn't. She didn't have to hide her gifts. And soon enough Anya's would manifest too. Having returned not long ago, Erik had put Anya down for a nap, and he was cleaning up the dishes from lunch, when he heard Magda burst in. He immediately went to the door but she was already up the stairs, and then frantically rushed down. Concern immediately filled Erik, but he remained calm. His hands hand to either side of her, resting on her upper arms to gently hold her. "Magda," he said calmly, softly. "What is it?" A threat? Had someone done something? Surely humans had not come onto their land? Whatever it was, Erik intended to resolve it, immediately.

Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION He loved hearing that. Them baking, doing a puzzle . . . he only wished he could be a part of it. But he would make up for that later. For now, his attentions were on his beautiful wife. Later, he would ask they baked. Later, he would ask what sort of letters she answered. Right now, he solely focusing on Magda. And she was making it rather easy to distract him as she placed kisses along his skin. Closing his eyes to bask in the sensation of her touch, one hand slid up her back, her teasing words causing his lips to curve into a smile.
"I'm not sure . . . " He said with playful uncertainty. Slowly, each button from her blouse began to open itself, the smile remaining in place. It certainly helped that they were made from metal. His hands moved to where her shirt was tucked into her skirt and pulled it out so that the remaining buttons could be undone. He leaned forward, pressing his lips against her ear. "But I have an idea or two," he added in the same tone of voice, lips moving to the side of her neck and with her shirt now hanging open, his hands went to the front and slowly pulled it off, kissing her now exposed shoulders.

Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION Magneto silently walked with his wife, passing security to which he gave a nod to, before waving his hand to open the door and letting it shut behind them once they were both on the other side of it. He smiled when Magda wrapped her arms around his neck, each hand going to either side of her waist. "That has yet to be determined," he teased in return. She asked him if he had a good day and he knew there was only one best response to that.
"It's certainly better now," he told her. His favourite moments of the day was time spent with his family. When in town, he always made it a point to tuck Nina in, regardless of what was happening at the time. And these moments he shared with Magda were far too precious and fewer than he liked. He wrapped his own arms around her, holding her close to him, soft affection in his gaze upon her. "How was your and Nina's day?" He loved hearing about it; about what they did, how they spent their time. Having initially moved here was a huge culture shock but slowly, Nina adapted. As did Magda.

Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION While there was a tease in her voice, Erik never failed to recognize just how much Magda supported him. She was with him while he was at the camp -- as much as she could be. She was with him through part of his hunt for Shaw. She was with him when he was one of the most wanted men. She was with him when they had to go into hiding. And she was with him now. Standing by his side for the betterment of mutants, and ultimately, their family. For Erik did not want their daughter growing up in a world where mutants were hunted and feared.
Magda had been with him every step of the way and he did feel a sort of guilt, that he couldn't dedicate more time to her. She understood, but his love for her made him feel as such. He closed his eyes as he felt the softness of her lips against his, opening them when she pulled away from the embrace. That look in her eyes enticing. "Wherever he is, he'd be a fool to be far from your side," he said with a smile, returning the playful tease though meaning the words all the same. His eyes went to hers when she started undoing his buttons.
This was something else he sorely missed being here: the privacy of a home. This place was massive, and security was everywhere. He couldn't just lift her up in his arms and carry her to bed. Well, he supposed he could but it wouldn't be without eyes on a camera and passerbys watching. Somehow, it seemed to take away from that intimacy when there was an audience involved. He leaned forward to kiss her again, this time a little more deeply, as if adding a silent promise in compliance to her words. "Lead the way," he told her, practically against her lips.

Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION This was not at all how Erik had envisioned his life. He'd once thought that the camps had drastically changed his path and he was right. But, he never thought that with each decision, each event . . . he would eventually follow a path that would lead him to a presidency. It was controversial of course, but the mutant public spoke louder than the fulfilment of tradition. His presidency changed the very fabrics of the nation and it was about time too. While this was hardly a desired position for Magneto, it was a necessary one. The only one that would allow them to implement change, and create a better future for mutants. For his daughter.
And his hope was that it would not be limited only to this country, but countries around the world. Which was precisely why he was on the phone at the late hour. Mutants were not limited to one nation; they existed all over the world and he longed for the day where they would feel safe living where they did. Reaching the eventual conclusion of the conversation, Erik hung the the phone and no sooner, felt a familiar pair of arms around him. He smiled, titling his head down a little so that he could lightly kiss her arm before touching it with his hand. "You're up late," he told her softly.

Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION Family. The answer was not a simple yes or no. While his current mission arguably did not hold the same toxicity as his previous one . . . whether he was meant to have a family or not was questionable. He was one of the most wanted men in the world. Having a family would only endanger them too. "Then I hope for that for you," he told her genuinely. He knew that in a different life, under different circumstances . . . they would have made it.
They would have been that family, had a family. But things had not worked out as such yet, here he found himself in her company yet again. As he had asked her and she'd answered. He knew it only fair for him to answer her question. "I supposed I've always wanted one." The natural path he was believed to have set on when he was a boy. But the camps had changed everything; broken so many hopes and dreams. "But circumstances don't exactly make it easy," he said with a slight smile, taking a sip of his tea. It was an honest answer, the only kind he knew how to give to Magda.

Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION Magneto had returned from the city sooner than expected. What was believed to be a two day job turned out to only be a one day one . . . and it resulted in more mutants seeking sanctuary. Seeking isolation. Once he helped them to get settled, he made his way to see his daughter. He had bought her a few things from the city and wanted to drop them off to her -- as well as see her. Despite the hour being late, he figured he could just go in quietly and leave them for her. Ensure that all was well. Waving his hand, the door opened as he quietly entered, setting the bag of things on the table. That was when he heard a sound: it sounded as if something had been knocked over and concern immediately filled him.
He had assumed she was sleeping and with the sound coming from her bedroom . . . well, Erik could never be too sure. He made his way there, waving his hand once again so that the door flew open and the sight was there before him. A sight that he wished he had not seen. There was NIna . . . and there was a boy on top of her. They both abruptly stopped as then young man scrambled off from his position on top of her. Clothes were on. Good. That was very good. But Magneto just stood there in the threshold of the door, staring at them both but particularly the boy. The boy who touched his daughter.

Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION They were safe. Both Nina and Magda were safe. That was all that mattered. Magda told him that she would wake a sleeping Nina and Erik was torn over wanting to see her, and being ashamed to. Just as he felt the same looking at his wife now. How could he explain it? How could he vocalize it? He was fully aware that he would need to for it would not take her long to figure out the lacking use of his powers . . . powers that once were. But, how to say it when Erik wasn't even sure his mind had come to terms with it yet.
He numbly followed her inside, listening though the words belatedly processing in his mind. "As I did both of you." He missed them as well, of course he did. It was why he was here. Why he had come back despite the difficulty he knew this would post on his family; the difficulty he would pose on it. Perhaps it was selfish of him to return a burden but his family was everything to him. It was all he had left in this world.

Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION Yes. He wanted this too, knowing the way it had affected his family. A family once happy, so full of love . . . now left to deal with the aftermath of such horrific actions. It made Erik wonder just how many others were suffering in this way too. But right now, his priority was his own family: Magda and Nina. She told him that she was afraid that this wasn't real, and he could most certainly understand that. The first night that the signs had appeared, he had not dared to even consider it possible. But, he knew it. He could feel it.
"I have never to you before, Magda," he told her, looking into her eyes. "So trust me when I say, this is real. I wouldn't even dare breathe a word of it if it wasn't." His own acknowledgement of the repercussions should this not be the case. Of course he was afraid that his powers may not be what they once were. But, all he could do right now was train and work to realize his potential. He gave a slight smile at her words of him being stronger than anyone thought he was. Strength that he had derived from her in so many instances.
He closed his eyes as she kissed him, basking in the sensation before she pulled away and he opened his eyes, prepared to answer her question. "You have given me time and your patience this far," he told her softly. "I still need both." Time. Patience. She had been more than patient with him, but he selfishly would ask for more of it still. Only this time, it was with a renewed hope. "If you can give that to me," he requested, not demanded.

Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION Erik knew it was a difficult thing to understand, just as it was difficult to explain. How he could sense metal. How he could feel the magnetism. How he was able to pull it out from places where he didn't even have to see it. "Not quite," he answered, though wasn't overly disappointed by this fact. It reminded him of his early years in life, where he was trying to control his abilities and it was the rage that had brought it out.
It started small, but the camps had been what really made it come out in ways he'd not thought possible. This however, was different. With the knowledge he had, the training he had already undergone . . . he surely would be able to train himself more quickly and efficiently so that he could regain full control of his abilities. "I don't yet have the same control I had before." Yes, being the operative word. "But it's a start. This, is a start." He glanced at his hand pressed against her chest before meeting her gaze once more. A hand that he thought to be useless for so long, until now.
Where he could once again utilize it with his mutant powers. "No, it did not." And it felt damn good to know that even after their multiple syringes and repeated torturous acts inflicted upon him . . . they had still not won. And Magneto would be sure they knew that. But, all in good time. "One's mutants abilities are stronger than anything they can create." And this, was clear proof of that. It did however make him wonder, how many more people they had used this on. How many more people had suffered at their hands.

Tag: Lana Kane Note: Better layout coming soon! Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION There was a lot riding on the safety of their President. He was one of their kind, a mutant. And in turn, could prove to be a very strong ally for mutant kind. The only issue was, it was not public knowledge . . . not yet. While Erik had no intention of 'outing' him, he did hope to one day appeal to him. But it was rumours of an assassination that brought Magneto here today. To Dallas.
He had some time before the appearance, and knew that lurking around may arouse suspicion. So instead, he found a diner and made his way inside, seating himself and pulling out a newspaper. When the waitress greeted him, Erik looked at her and gave a small, polite smile. "Please," he said, turning the mug over onto the saucer that accompanied it. He would wait until she left before reading the news. It was a good distraction from the magnitude of what could possibly happen. What Erik was determined to stop.

Tag: Lana Kane Note: Better layout coming soon! Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION Erik was deep in the wooded area of the island, thick with threes when the news reached him. Their invited guest had arrived. He was mapping out the area with a couple of other mutants, wanting to expand the land they could live on, maximizing their resources. While they would venture to the city, Magneto's goal for Genosha was to made it a mutant nation, self sustaining and independent from any need of the American government. This was their land and they would make it thrive. Plans of expanding liveable areas was put on hold as he made his way back to the main area.
Selene said that she was waiting for him and Magneto thanked her before entering the designated area. It had been years since he'd seen Lana and they'd always had an . . . amicable dynamic between them. He glanced at Lorna, noticing her expression had relaxed a little -- a rather unusual thing for her -- but with Lana present in the room, it was no surprise. "Thank you," he said to her, prompting Lorna to leave the room as Erik turned his attentions to Lana. "It's good to see you, Lana," he told her sincerely. She had given them word of mutants who sought refuge and a safe place, isolated by a homo sapien controlled society. She was an ally to them, and so, he would treat her as such. "Welcome to Genosha."
