The mean started moving faster, and Nina could tell something was happening. She stayed on the bed, but watched with careful eyes. The mood grew tense and the men were on edge. Nina didn't move until she saw why. "Papa!" She jumped up and ran to the clear wall, watching as they lead him to her door. Opening it she hushed toward him. "Nina," "Papa!" Nina for the moment didn't think about everything they've said about her father, she only knew that was her father, he was bound by men who hated him! He was doing this for her!
"Restrain her." "NO!" She cried out, and they grabbed her, even as she fought to get to him. "Papa!" Nine fought as she could but their were too many, and the men were too strong for her. "We had a deal!" A deal?! What had he done?! "I don't make deals with terrorists." She stopped fighting and looked at her father. Terrorist. Nina wanted him to deny it, and say it wasn't so. She wanted him to not be what they said. The men pulled her more away from her father, and Nina didn't have it in her fight now. Seeing her father like this hurt! She wanted it to be lie! That he was her loving father and had never done these things.
"Nina!" He screamed and she pulled that the men again, "Papa! No!" "Do something!" Nina kicked and fought as she reached for him. "Papa," She begged, not sure what she was begging for. They hit him and he went down, "NO! PAPA! NO!" Nina fought harder.
The men dragged Nina out of the room, and she tried to go to her father. She even got close enough to touch his face before they dragged her out. Nina screamed his name as she pulled her out. Crying they pulled her out of the room and own dark halls. She noticed that there was no metal anywhere here. How long had they planned this? How long had they planned to trap and hold him. How strong was their hate? Putting her into another cell, Nina fell on the floor crying. Her father had done horrible things. Now the men here were going to make him pay. Even if he had since then shown nothing but peace. Closing her eyes she wished there was some animal here that she could get to help her. Yet the humans had been so careful.

Nina sat on the bed, and pulled her knees up to her chest. Around her were plastic walls, and men running around to quickly make sure their jobs were done. No area of her clear cage was blocked from view--everything she did they could see. She felt exposed and watched, and tried not to look at them. She'd been taken from the store, pulled into a van, and bound on the way here. She knew she'd lost control of her powers in her fear, but the birds that had attacked hadn't been able to stop them.
Nina had tried to fight them, but she couldn't. Her life of protected saftey hadn't taught her to fight. She had brusies everywhere, and her cheek hurt from where she'd fallen in her efforts and scratched it up. Once they had her in here, they left her alone. Wanted nothing to do with her. It took her half an hour to realize they were afriad of her. Or of her father.
The man who had been giving orders walked up and opened the door, letting himself in. "Tell us where he is." Nina looked away, not willing to right him, nor speak to him. "You are aiding and a bedding a terrorist. If you don't--" "He's a wielder!" Nina cut him off, looking up at him but not standing. "My father is a wielder. A farmer. You've got the wrong family! We are peaceful! We've lived here for 17 years and no one even knew we had powers. That should show you we mean no harm!"
They argred a bit more about who her father was before the man grew quite. He told her she didn't know who her father was. Nina told him that she knew who he was, and had no doubts. It seemed to be these words that made them change their mind. A laptop was brought out, and Nina slid away from it. Using the video search on the government site with the phrase 'magneto + Erik Lehnsherr' and videos upon video came up. Nina felt her stomic drop as a video from a trail came up. Guilty. Her father was arrested for killing the president. He said he hadn't done it. She believed him. That was why he was wanted? Because he was running from a crime he didn't do?
Then they showed a video of Paris. He was chancing another trying to kill her. A big blue man ought him, and for a moment, Nina nearly panicked when her father was held under water! Yet he came up. She wasn't sure what had happened, but her father wasn't a violent man! Maybe there was something happening and he had too? Maybe this wasn't even er father!
Then came the video. A baseball stadium. A helmet. Robots fighting. A speech. The video cut off as he pulled the present's vault out of the ground. The laptop was taken . . .
She couldn't think beyond the imagines of her beloved father standing there. She couldn't see how the man in the video had been the one to sing to her. They seemed so different. Tears were on her cheeks as she looked around and realized where she was. Not a cage to keep her in--a trap for her father. They were baiting him, with her. Baiting him because they couldn't find him. Even after all this time. Nina looked up to the man in charge, and knew she was crying. "He's still my father." No matter what had happened she wouldn't give him up. Because as bad as all that looked, it didn't feel like the same man. Yet she knew that the perfect idea of her father was gone. "It doesn't matter. He'll come for you." And that was the worst thing of all.
An hour later, sitting along in her cell, Nina still hadn't come to terms with the idea that her father had done everything they were saying he had done. Curled up and laying on the bed, Nina waited. Torn because on one hand--the father she thought she knew was a man of peace and couldn't break into a place like this and fight this many man--which meant she was here to stay. Or to watch him die.
And on the other--if he was who they said he was . . . . then they were going to need more men, because this was the worst trap ever set.

If they travel? Where would they go? "Were would go?" She asked, watching him chop. Pap said she would need to talk to people, like she did her chickens. "Papa!" She said laughing as if he was funny, and answered in Polish, "The chickens do not speak in English!" Laughing Nina looked at Mati and stroked the feathers.
Pap asked her why the chickens did not like the chop. Nina looked down at Enri and asked in English, "Erni, Why do you not like Papa's chops?" After a moment of silently staring at the chicken Nina looked at her Papa. "Papa! Have your chop-ed Enri's friend?" She asked in Polish very surprised! Nina didn't like to eat meat though sometimes Mama made her. She always ate extra vegtibles instead! Pausing she looked to Mati then at Papa.

"I do want to be warm tonight." She said back to him in English. Looking at Erni she patted the ground beside her, "Come sit, Erni." And she was pleased that her chicken walked over to sit where she asked. Looking up she found Mati. "Come sit, Mati" Nina patted the other side of her. The chicken picked it's head up and ran over to sit where she patted. "Stay here while Papa chops!" She told them both.
She looked up at her Papa and watched as he chopped a few more. "Papa, why must I practice English? No one talks it here." She didn't mind, but she still questioned it. When she went to town with Mama no one said anything in English, they only spoke Polish.

"Papa," Nina said watching her friend try to stop her Papa from chopping the wood. Papa tried to shoo it away, and Nina had laughed but then she grew serious. "You are frightening the chicken." Her voice was almost like it was when her parents were fussing. Mimicking their tone of fussing. But she meant it too.
Erni looked at her and then her Papa. "He does no like it when you chop." Nina picked up some seed that she was feeding the animals and Erni walked over to eat it from her hand. She was speaking in English to practice, but her English was a little slow as she thought about each word. "Do you have to chop?"

Nina pulled back at his words and smiled up at him, the complement from her father--the man her mother had loved for years--warmed her to her core. "Thank you for that," she whispered, loving that he thought so and not even sure what he meant by it. But it made her feel close to her mother. Like her mother still was her in her heart.
"I am also my father's daughter." Nina explained looking at him. "I . . . I lied outside, and I am sorry for it but I didn't want to do this out there. My name isn't Eisenhardt. My mother gave me my father's name." Nina took a deep breath and smiled up at him. "You see, she tried to find you but never could. So she named me Nina Edie Lehnsherr . . . after my father." And there, it was said! The reason she'd came to see him and hide her name for a few moments! The reason she came to find him after eight years from loosing her mother. Not to tell him about her mother but to meet him. To find her father. To learn about her family.
She held her hands out, as if presenting herself before dropping them back down and waiting for his reaction. "I'm your daughter."

There was fear in his reaction at first. Fear of his powers that took the table, and of what might happen next. But when he turned to look at the photos, Nina could see the tears on his face. And in that instant the fear was replaced with love! Someone understood! Someone finally understood what it meant to live in a world without her mother in it! The reassurance that she needed that her father did love her mother, and it had not been one sided came up in her! Nina jumped forward and wrapped her arms around his middle, holding tightly to Magneto. She too had tears on her cheeks for both her loss, and for his! Nina buried her face into his chest and held tightly.
Her father was morning her mother, and she couldn't help but to find it sad and hopeful all in the same moment. Ever fear she had about coming here rested. This was the right thing! This was were she was meant to go! She needed the hug, and she felt that he did as well. That they could both use the healing touch. For him it was a stranger, but for Nina it was the first time she'd hugged her father, and the emotion of remembering her mother and hugged her father bubbled up as she cried softly into his shirt. Stupid pointless things crossed her mind in that moment. His smell, his strength, the reminder that his man had saved her mother--the idea that she was finally home after eight years was trying to find her place.

Nina's mother had never found a forever love, but she'd fond a forever home. And put her love into that and her daughter. "She had me," Nina explained a lot with so few words. No husband. No other family. A sad smile on her lips, because even after eight years she missed her mother. Missed her dearly. She liked that her father seemed affected by her mother. Her mother had been so affected by him for years, and Nina had oped that he loved her too. His voice and tone hinted he might! Which was also sad. That they'd loved each other and hadn't been together.
"She's . . " Nina began and hesitated. "We were in Italy when the flu went through. The big one that made the news." It had been one of the new strands and doctors had struggled with fighting it. A lot of people had died before getting the correct treatment. "She never recovered. She died eight years go." Nina's voice was soft, and sad. Yet she said it without crying to trembling. She had her mother's strength to her. Just as she had had her heart. "I'm sorry to tell you." She added on after a moment.
She gave him a moment to hear the news before softly stepping closer and going on. "She spoke of you often. I know she missed you. It was how I knew about you. Know so much about you." Because Magda wanted Nina to feel like she knew her father. "I didn't know how to find you until now." Which was why she'd waited eight years for this. Reaching into her bag she pulled out a photo of her and her mother, taken not long before the big flu came. She held it out to him. Her mother was smiling so brightly and happy. They both were. Nina had always thought she favored her mother, but her mother always said she had her father's eyes.

Nina ran so hard that she could feel her body screaming at her! Metal and debris tossed mindlessly around everywhere. Everyone was running to get the professor, but she had one goal. Magneto. Nina ducked down as the fight to get to the professor happened over her head. The one with metal wings flew over her, and Nina's eyes changed colors for a moment before a large amount of birds began to land and pull on his wings. Not the small ones either, but the largest of the local birds.
Pushing up she ran toward the metal sphere that held him protected. She had to duck and roll once to keep her head on her shoulders, but then she pushed up and ran again! Nina had to reach him! She had to save him from himself! For her mother, for herself, and apparently the whole world!
Nina had known all her life who her father was, but after her mother died and she'd gone to find her father she hadn't been able to tell him the truth. Scared for his reaction. Scared at what other's said he was since it didn't match the man her mother knew. So instead, Nina had joined the school. Now, while everyone was trying to save their leader, she was trying to save her father.
Some metal knocked her off her climb up to him, and she grabbed a hold of the makeshift ground! Nina pulled herself up and began again. The closer she got the less debris that was flying everywhere. Once she was close enough she froze. What to say? What could she do to change the mind of the man she'd met only once before? "Please!" She yelled out trying to get his attention, "You don't want to do this!" Erik Lehnsherr

She didn't want to be here. She missed her home and wanted her Mama. Here in America there was too many people and everything was so far away. It took forever to get here and everything was so different. She'd never been around a lot of people and this school was so filled with everyone moving around and bouncing around. It was so busy that she clung to her father, not wanting to talk to anyone. She missed her Mama, and knew that she would never see her again.
Her father put her down, and she didn't want to let him go. She wan't ready to be put down and not be held, but she didn't say anything. Her Daddy kissed her and said sorry. Nina blinked up at him. She wanted him to pick her back up and take her back home. She looked back at the room and then turned to her Daddy and stepped back into his arms to hold his neck.

Her mother. He spoke of her mother too, and she knew that he cost him, in the same way it cost her. They both missed her, but it was not her father who had gotten her mother killed. It was her inexperience and lack of control. She didn't have either now. "One day I might need to stand and fight, but I will not know how." She told him, not in an angry way, but in a strong soft voice. "I will never have seen it. Is it not better to let me learn with you by my side then to wait for the next time something happens and I am useless?" They both knew that one day the humans could come. Even her mother had known it if the stories she'd heard where even half true.
"My mother fought for mutants, my father does too. Yet you hide me here, in fear that I will hurt. I am not afraid! I want to help in more ways then making soup and tea!" She didn't mean it in a negative way to her mother but more a need to be be more then she was now. Her father's hostess in a way. She wasn't going to be happy taking are of everyone forever. "I'm an adult. I made my own choices. My choice is to go with you, and to help our people." It was a quite sort of strong in her voice. Not a rebellious or angry tone. She wasn't temperamental, but soft in her words. Yet under that softness was steel. Her mind was made, and she was going to try to do this.

Nina wondered what he'd say or do once she gave her mother's name. She was a little surprised that he gave into her request, but so glad he did! The others looked displeased but she followed him as he lead them to the building he had floated out of. How was it that her mother used to describe his powers? Magik. Like magik.
She watched him use it to open the door, and with wide eyes she watched it close again behind them. He didn't look at her right away, so she used the change to look around his home. Or what she assumed to be his home. She looked for signs of love or family or anything soft. Trying to see what sort of man he was and life he lived. She turned slowly around to take in the whole room as she looked up and down over it. When she came back to look at him, he was looking at her. Nina smiled at him, and tried to find the words that she'd traveled thousands of miles to say. "Thank you," she told him for allowing her to come here and talk to him.
Nina took a deep breath, and gave a nervous chuckle. "I've come so far and now that I see you . . . " She smiled again and pushed her hair back. "I . . . . I grew up on stories about you."

"You are as much part of the Brotherhood as anyone else," Excatly! "And we all have different roles to play within it." Yes!! Her's could be the first wave! She could help with her powers and save the lives of others! Nina had long thought of her mother's death as her fault when she lost control, and using them to save others was the best way to honor her mother! To undone the guilt! "I trust you emphatically. Which is why I need you to stay here to look after the others in my absence." No!!!!
"You are not going." For a moment Nina almost gave in. It wasn't like she defied her father and never openly! She wasn't Lorna! It was why she came here to push going and not just climbed on the plane! "I am not a child anymore, Papa. I want to be able to help people, and save people. I need to be there. I need to be out there helping." She needed this, and she tried to explain before she would try to rebel. It was who she was. Something she'd gotten from her mother. "I can't stay on this island forever hiding from the world. I need to be apart of the fight." For her and for her mother. Something she could never say to her father without hurting him. Yet she wanted him to understand.

Nina watched as he looked to the other girl and shook his head. Had she missed something? Were they talking to each other in their heads? Or did they just know each other well? She hadn't thought before but . . . what if he had another family? What if she was about to ruin everything? What if he had everything he wanted and he didn't want to know? Her mother said that he was a good man, and Nina had to believe that he was. She had to believe that the man her mother loved until her dying day was a man of honor and would not turn her away. That this was the right thing to do.
She shifted from one foot to the other, clearly nervous. Her eyes went to the other girls before back to her---her father's face. How did she tell him now? How did she get him along after his refusal? She didn't want to tell him here with everyone watching. Nina looked around at everyone once more before turning to Magneto. "My name is Nina Eisenhardt." She explained, and watched his face for any reaction. "I am Magda Eisenhardt's daughter." There it was. Not the full truth but the base of it. The foundation of what she needed to tell him. That her mother loved him, and that she was here to find out of she could love him too. If she had a place with ehr father or even if they could be a family. He was all she had in this world in the terms of blood. And after so many stories she wanted to meet the man. "I came to talk to you."

Yes we! Nina knew he knew exactly what she meant! "Papa, you know what I am talking about!" She told him, ignoring his question. "I am apart of the brotherhood, and I want to do my part!" She gestured to her clothes and then to her boots! They were thicker and flat; clearly meant to work in and run around the woods in. She was dressed to impressed! To impress him!! To make her look like the others! She was dressed like Lorna!
Nina repeated what she said before. "If i go into the woods, I can have the wall attacked and they will move toward it to try and protected it. Then you can go in without getting over whelmed! You know the risk of them using non-mental weapons is growing. I can be there to help!" She would be there! No can! Can was asking. "I will be there to help! I'm on the team. I am going!" . . . . she just needed him to let her.

Nina knew that she shouldn't expect him to live up to her grand ideas of what she thought meeting her father would be like but she also didn't want it to be like this. Out in the open where they were watched...and maybe glared at by his friends. She wanted to be embraced here! She should have baked something! Brought something for them to eat! THAT would have soften this!
"I'd rather not say here." She admitted, smiling up at him, trying to show him she meant no harm. She wanted to step closer but was afraid too. The idea that he might step away was scary to her. She'd build him up so much in her head. She wanted to make this a good thing for them both! Lifting her purse a little higher on her shoulder she tried in Polish again. "It's important." She added on, hoping that by using his language of Polish that he would know they were kindred spirits! That he could trust her! Nina pushed back her hair, and bounced on her toes once.

He spoke back in English and asked her what she was doing here. That was both the easy answer and the hard answer. She was here for him! She glanced around at everyone staring at her. The one with spiky hair and the one with green hair even whispering to each other while staring at her. She couldn't do it here. She needed to talk to him alone before telling him what she'd come here to say. "I'm here to stay a while. I hear all mutants are welcome?" She asked, smiling up at him.
Yet that wasn't the only reason. She was here to meet HIM, not because he was the leader of this group of. . . . very scary goth looking people--but because she was the daughter of Magda and Erik. His daughter. And she knew he didn't know. "And to talk to you!" She said a little too excitedly. "Can I talk to you in private?" She asked, looking around again and then smiling hopefully up at him.
She hoped that he'd say yes. Nina bit her lip while waiting for his answer, and trying not to bounce with excitement. Her Dad was here! She was face to face with the man she'd only heard about and see on the TV!! And he was . . . So much bigger in person!

Nina knew what was happening, and she wanted to help. She was 23 now, and she could darn well help save their race! She was strong, and clever! She had been training for YEARS! She wanted to do it---but her father said no. Always no. This time she wasn't going to take a no for an answer.
Nina 'suited up' in the all black the others wore and zipped up her leather jacket so it formed a fitted look on her. Her hair hung loose like her mother often wore hers. Walking up to her Dad's door she knocked once before pushing it open and walking in. Don't ask permission! Easy! . . . not easy, but she'd do it!
"When we get there I can move toward the west side of the compound and create a distraction. That will help you get in and get the others out without too much trouble." She explained, not addressing the fact that she'd not be given permission to go. Erik Lehnsherr

"Heart, don't fail me now," Singing had always calmed Nina. It was why she'd come to America; to sing. "Courage, don't desert me!" And she was good at it. She'd sang in New York and San Francisco! She'd even opened a few local shows. Not enough that her name was known outside of the circles in the music industry, but enough that it made her proud of herself and what she'd done in a short time. "Don't turn back now that we're here. People always say life is full of choices. No one ever mentions fear . . . " Looking back she watched the boat that took her out to the island disappearing. No turning back now.
Turning she began walking toward the center (Please! Let this be toward the center and not her getting lost somewhere!) As she did, Nina looked up and saw birds. Smiling Nina used her powers and one came down to land on her hand. After a short conversation she began taking the directions the bird gave her.
Nina's shoes were once to clean until she began the walk. Once she entered the clearing she begin to notice that she might have over dressed for the place. People began staring at her as she walked toward the center of the clearing. Her clothes were neat and clean. Very unlike her mother, who always dressed in well worn clothes. It was one of the few ways they had been different before her mother died.
Nina came to a stop there in the center and wondered if she should walk up to one of them. She smiled brightly at them, but then it faded as they didn't smile back. Then she saw it--or more accurately, him. Magneto. Her smile came back for one second, and she inhaled deeply; before everything came back to her mind and she grew nervous. He floated down from the tower like building behind him, and approached her.
She felt her belly twist and flop as he grew closer, and knew her eyes were wide. Here he comes. "Hello," she greeted when he was close enough, and while she meant to do it in English, it came out in Polish. Her language. Her mother's language. . . . her father's language of birth. She repeated it again in English, though her accent stayed. "Hi." Erik Lehnsherr
