Nina breathed through the kiss and felt Martin push her to the bed. His lips moved over her jaw, and down her neck. It felt good! Martin was gentle enough that it didn't frighten her, but aggressive enough that it was a little hot! Moaning as his hand came up over her shirt and cupped her breast, Nina bit her lip. Parting her jean covered leg Nina let him settle there and felt him growing hard through both their jeans. It made her toes curl with a feeling she couldn't explain. While they weren't going to go all the way, knowing that he wanted her was heady!
For a moment she forgot to think---and in the next moment she was thinking too fast! Her father--HER FATHER walked RIGHT in and STORMED into the room! "Gówno!" She hissed, and pushed Martin off! He was already jumping off her and backing away from the bed--making sure the bed was between him and her father. "Papa! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" She yelled, pushing up and moving to stand between the bed and her Dad. As if that would distract him from Martin.

Nina was a little drunk! Which wasn't normal for her! She had decided to sneak off the island and join some of the mutants at a local hang out, and one of them had brought everyone drinks. Then another one had! Since they bought the round the bartender didn't ID everyone, and 17 year old Nina had began drinking! And laughing! And playing around with everyone!
It was fun! She should do this more often! Everyone seemed happier and funnier! Even the goofy guy her sister was "not dating" was funnier! Lorna wasn't around since her and Papa were going to check on some mutants they helped moved, so maybe he was just nicer without her around? Nina picked up the pool stick and laughed as the group they were all with talked about heading to a underground club. Oh! That sounded both shady and fun! Did she want to go? Why was it underground?
She wasn't even playing pool, but the long stick made her feel like she fit in since others were sitting on the table while making plans to walk a few blocks to the club.

Nina walked into the room and took one look at John and her father before running over to the body on the floor. "DID YOU KILL HIM?" Nina asked, checking for a plus and looking up at his face she spoke without thinking. "He was supposed to wait for me to tell you about the baby!I wanted to tell you myself!" Nina stood up and noticed her father's face was changing. A lot. It was her first clue that this might not have been what she thought had happened.
"He was unconscious when I found him." Papa said, and then stared at her. Oh! . . . . . oooohhhhh. . . . . oh. Oh gosh. Oh no. She'd outed herself after keeping this a secret for 2 months. Oh shit. Nina knew that she had been planning to tell her father before her 18 birthday but hadn't found the right time. She had not expected to walk in and find John on the floor--for some reason. She wasn't worried about him. He had a pulse and she'd get him ice for the bump on the head in a moment. Right now, she needed to focus on the other issue. " . . . . Papa . . . . . ummm . . . . . well . . . "
She wasn't a coward but her father was something else. He'd never hurt her, but disappointing him was something she hated doing. Lorna was the wild one. Lorna should be the one knocked up by a random guy when she was 17 and derailing her college career. Nina was the go to the best college on a full academic scholarship and graduate early with high honors as valedictorian type. "I'm pregnant." And he was going to be a grandfather! It seems to universe really wanted this plot to happen! Erik Lehnsherr

Nina stared at the little stick with two pink lines and thought she was goign to be sick again this morning, only this time it was not morning sickness. She was pregnant. It was not only unexpected but coming at the worst of times, and from someone she wasn't ready to spend the rest of her life with. Pyro, or John had been apart of a one night, slightly drunk, slightly rebellious night. She had wanted to cut loose and be wild--but at 17 she wasn't ready to deal with long term results of one night of poor choices.
He was sitting on the bed in her room, while she was in the bathroom silently freaking out in her head, while her body grew cold and numb. Her father alone was going to freak out! She had always been the mature and well behaved daughter! She was not supposed to be the teenage pregnancy daughter! She was turning 18 in three months! She was supposed to be looking at colleges nor bassinets!
Nina put her hands on the sick and took a few long deep breaths. She wanted her mother! She wanted her mother more now then she had in the 11 years since her mother had died. She wanted that soft support she knew her mother would have gave her! Right now she had a father who was going to either kill her or John, a . . . . whatever John was now? Baby Daddy who was more immature then the baby already was! And Lorna . . . . oh gosh Lorna! She already had issues and now her bestie was going to be spending time with the baby and not her and that would set her off!
Wait . . . would John spend time with the baby?? Would he be there for her? Would she be doing this alone?! Nina felt herself starting to panic! Her breathing came faster! Oh gosh! She was a single 17 year old mother! Would he stay? She knew he was out there waiting for an answer, but instead of walking out she sat shakengly in the floor, pulled her knees to her chest and buried her face in her knees to begin crying. This was not the plan for her life!
Yet she knew that she'd die to protect the baby already! Thank Google for this! John Allerdyce

Nina pulled on her socks all by herself, and then got up off the floor. She patted her feet out of her room and down the steps to find Papa. He was in his study, reading something when she found him. Smiling, she ran over and climbed in his lap, sliding under the book and betwen the book and his chest. Smiling up at him she giggled, "Papa, it's time for bed!" Papa tucking her in was her favorite! He hadn't been home the last few nights because he had been helping their neighbors finish working on the house.
Which meant that tonight she wanted Papa to tuck her in! Nina was already dressed for bed, but she needed help braiding her hair and then she wanted Papa to sing to her or read her a book! Holding up her brush she smiled at him, knowing Mama normally did her hair but she'd missed Papa this week so she wanted him to do it!
Papa teased her, and put his book aside. Turning her to sit in his lap while he brushed her hair. Nina talked about her new friend Nokk, which was a horse that the neighbors had. Nokk was happy to talk to her and one day she wanted to ride him! "Papa, will you sing to me?" and because Papa always sang to her, she smiled as he sang to her now, while braiding her hair for bed.

Nina pulled back from the hug but left her hands on his arms, while she tried to take in his words. She believed them, but she didn't believe in them. She knew he wanted peace, and that he wished there was another way--yet she knew in her heart that there was. These people were but a handful in the world. Some snakes were poisonous but they didn't hate and kill all snakes because of it. Most were good. Afraid but good.
She had been raised to believe in the good, and she had to keep believing in it. That humans were like her mother, and would not all be this way. "I know you have seen more hate and fear then anyone," She knew that he had been taken as a kid and put int he camps. She hadn't known it was like it was until just now, but she also knew that he had been arrested before for things he hadn't done. "But there are still good people. I have to believe the kids I grew up with would stand up for me even if they knew about me. We can make a difference by helping remove the fear people see. Like we my animals friends. Violence will only give them more to fear, Papa." Her words were soft, not an argument but explaining her point of view, and asking him to see it differently. She loved him, and trusted him more then anyone. She simply didn't agree with him.

Nina was 10 years old and really starting to understand and get a hold of her powers. She lived in Poland, and had all her life. She knew that her parents had had her while in the states, but had moved to their homeland when she was only a year old. It left her understanding the importance of having both languages, Polish and English. Which meant when she spoke to the animals she spoke in both Polish and English.
Hearing the sound of a car, Nina ran around the house to see if it was her Papa. He was at work today, and it wasn't time for him. Slowing her run she saw she didn't know the car. The sun was on the windshield so she couldn't see who was in it. Still, Nina walked closer as she had never known anything besides peace. She knew about stranger danger but had never had to experience it. Her parents had kept her safe for her whole life here in Poland with animals as her friends. She had friends with the neighbor's kids too, but she liked the animals better. They had better adventures to tell! TAG: Mystique

He hugged her back, and Nina closed her eyes to hold him toward her. Wanting to ease the pain as he talked about his mother. She couldn't imagine loosing her mother, and in such a manner that shaped your whole life. Having her killed to make you do something. When he pulled away she looked up at him, looking into his eyes and trying to see if he was ok, after telling her more about his life then she had ever heard from that time period.
He told her they had to fight. "I know," she told him, but knew that her idea of fighting wasn't what he thought it would be. For Nina, fighting was educating, and helping the world understand and see these things as her mother did--wonderful and cool things! How much they could do to make the world a better place. How this would happen to more and more people as the generations went on. For her father, it was something else. "But I don't think it has to be with violence." Nina's voice was soft, and almost quite as she said it.

Still sitting on the bed, in Papa's lap, Nina kept looking around. Home is where her family was, but Mama wasn't here! She wanted to be with Mama AND Papa. She knew Mama wasn't coming back, but she still wanted it. She didn't like this place, and wanted t be somewhere better. Too many people was here every time they walked out of the room someone wanted to make her feel better by talking to her. She just wanted to be away from it all.
"Will we stay here?" She asked, wondering what was going to happen. Nina wanted to know what was happening. Ever since Mama died they had kept going and going and she didn't know what was happening. Is this their home now or would they move again?

Papa came over to her, and bent down so he could be as tall as she was. Nina smiled at him when he did, and her Papa asked about if only animals talked to her. What a silly question! "You are talking to me now Papa!" She told him with a laugh. Papa had not answered her about hearing Erni's words but she knew Mama couldn't hear Erni. Could Papa not heard Erni either?
Nina rested her hand on his knee since he was bent down before her, and kept talking. "But when Erni talks he don't use his mouth. But I still hear him. You have to use your mouth." She asked, picking up on how he couldn't hear them. Nina liked talking to her friends, and was glad she could. She knew that other people laughed when she told them she liked playing with her friends. They never made her feel bad about it, but they thought her cute and funny--sometimes Nina wondered if they thought she was telling a fib.

Nina watched her father, waiting for an answer to her question. "As you know, you're mother and I were both in the concentration camps," It was the last thing she expected him to say. Yes, she knew about her parent's time at the camps, and she'd learned history enough to know that it was horrible. Unspeaking things had been done in the idea of a master race. Yet in her protect little corner of the world, it seemed something that had happened 'in history' more then to her parents. "It was . . . We were . . . " He couldn't even look at her at first, as her father struggled for her words.
"People were tortured, experimented on, killed, for things beyond their control. For just existing." People. He'd gone from 'we were' to 'people were'. Nina was a smart girl. She took after her father like that, picking things up with ease. She could fill in the blanks of what that meant--they were. He was. tortured. experimented on. Saw others killed? Nina swallowed hard as she tried to imagine her father there, and struggled. Her normally s happy father in a place of death and darkness? His voice grew stronger, and Nina felt some of the turmoil of hearing her father's past there--but not enough. He spoke of it happening again, and this time to mutants. Her kind. His kind. "I wanted to be a part of creating a world where our kind did not have to live in constant fear. To break the cycle of genocide." She had to believe there was a better way to do it then this. That there was something besides fighting violence with violence, and fear with more fear.
Yet for now, Nina stepped forward and embraced her father. Hugged him to ease the hurt he had to be feeling right now. It was the most he'd ever said about his time there, and she knew that was hard on him. She wanted to help make it easier to talk about. She knew that they still had a lot to talk about, and that she was realizing her views were very different from her parents. She knew this conversation would hard, but before they could continue it, she wanted to hug her father. Wanted to make things better for him and what he suffered. "Is that what you meant when you said they took your mother away?" She asked in almost a whisper.

The cold was settling in to Nina's fingers as she tried to adjust to what her father was telling her. Hunting and hunting the other mutant had been needed? Killing one to save te mutant race? She didn't understand, but he had called it a mistake.
"And the stadium? You circled the American white house and tried to kill the people in charge? You said they were trying to hurt mutants, but I still don't understand why you . . . . Why you?" She asked, still willing to listen but having her eyes opened about her father. WHY him? Why had he done this. How had he gotten so deep into a fight?
This was the man who had raised her? Her mother said listen with an open heart. Her mother had stood by him then? How had she done that? She felt as if she was missing something. As if there was a a reason that her mind had trouble seeing. She had all the puzzle peaces but they didn't make a picture.

Nina's body felt burned even though it looked fine. A mutant that they found in the resistance had the power to manipulate time, which had allowed her to do on this mission. She had four days before they would bring her back to see if anything had changed. Four days to change the world. Four days to save her mother, and father.
Years in the future, the world had become unrecognizable from this place. Where she was from, it was a darker world--and here . . . it looked . . . . so different.
Breathing slowly in and out, Nina took in the world around her. She had a lot too do, and knew it would take her some time to even find her father. Yet, she still stood there surprised it worked. She'd just gone back in time. Thankfully she knew where her father was at. The US. Now Nina just needed to figure out how to get close to him. It wouldn't get easy to get close to a horseman without cause. Yet, if she could turn him now, then she could change the future and help save her mother. Save a lot of mothers, and fathers. Erik Lehnsherr was the strongest horseman, so the beginning had to come from him.
