Nina sat on the bed, and pulled her knees up to her chest. Around her were plastic walls, and men running around to quickly make sure their jobs were done. No area of her clear cage was blocked from view--everything she did they could see. She felt exposed and watched, and tried not to look at them. She'd been taken from the store, pulled into a van, and bound on the way here. She knew she'd lost control of her powers in her fear, but the birds that had attacked hadn't been able to stop them.
Nina had tried to fight them, but she couldn't. Her life of protected saftey hadn't taught her to fight. She had brusies everywhere, and her cheek hurt from where she'd fallen in her efforts and scratched it up. Once they had her in here, they left her alone. Wanted nothing to do with her. It took her half an hour to realize they were afriad of her. Or of her father.
The man who had been giving orders walked up and opened the door, letting himself in. "Tell us where he is." Nina looked away, not willing to right him, nor speak to him. "You are aiding and a bedding a terrorist. If you don't--" "He's a wielder!" Nina cut him off, looking up at him but not standing. "My father is a wielder. A farmer. You've got the wrong family! We are peaceful! We've lived here for 17 years and no one even knew we had powers. That should show you we mean no harm!"
They argred a bit more about who her father was before the man grew quite. He told her she didn't know who her father was. Nina told him that she knew who he was, and had no doubts. It seemed to be these words that made them change their mind. A laptop was brought out, and Nina slid away from it. Using the video search on the government site with the phrase 'magneto + Erik Lehnsherr' and videos upon video came up. Nina felt her stomic drop as a video from a trail came up. Guilty. Her father was arrested for killing the president. He said he hadn't done it. She believed him. That was why he was wanted? Because he was running from a crime he didn't do?
Then they showed a video of Paris. He was chancing another trying to kill her. A big blue man ought him, and for a moment, Nina nearly panicked when her father was held under water! Yet he came up. She wasn't sure what had happened, but her father wasn't a violent man! Maybe there was something happening and he had too? Maybe this wasn't even er father!
Then came the video. A baseball stadium. A helmet. Robots fighting. A speech. The video cut off as he pulled the present's vault out of the ground. The laptop was taken . . .
She couldn't think beyond the imagines of her beloved father standing there. She couldn't see how the man in the video had been the one to sing to her. They seemed so different. Tears were on her cheeks as she looked around and realized where she was. Not a cage to keep her in--a trap for her father. They were baiting him, with her. Baiting him because they couldn't find him. Even after all this time. Nina looked up to the man in charge, and knew she was crying. "He's still my father." No matter what had happened she wouldn't give him up. Because as bad as all that looked, it didn't feel like the same man. Yet she knew that the perfect idea of her father was gone. "It doesn't matter. He'll come for you." And that was the worst thing of all.
An hour later, sitting along in her cell, Nina still hadn't come to terms with the idea that her father had done everything they were saying he had done. Curled up and laying on the bed, Nina waited. Torn because on one hand--the father she thought she knew was a man of peace and couldn't break into a place like this and fight this many man--which meant she was here to stay. Or to watch him die.
And on the other--if he was who they said he was . . . . then they were going to need more men, because this was the worst trap ever set.

Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION Erik returned from his job just like any other day . . . but today, was not like the norm. When he got home, Magda had given him the news. Worried, frantic, and rightfully so. Nina had been taken. It had been very calculated as they had taken her for one specific reason: to lure him in. Erik wouldn't hesitate for an instant. Both he and Magda had always known that if anything were to happen, that Nina would be their priority to keep safe. This, was no exception. He assured her he would get her out, and told her to get a few bags ready. If all went well, Magda and Nina would be fine.
But, Erik did not trust the situation. He had a horrible feeling about this, yet that would hardly stop him. He did not want to go in with an army. He wanted his daughter free so she wouldn't have to live under this scrutiny of who her father was. She, like him when he was a boy, had been taken because of who she was; taken, because of something she -- just like he -- had no control over. The cycle needed to end.
He made his way to the elaborate facility, taking a slow breath, closing his eyes for a brief moment. How easy it would be to bring the entire building to the ground. To kill those who dared take his daughter. But, his priority was getting Nina out safely. No matter the cost. After living a life of non violence for over 15 years, he was going to at least try a peaceful alternative. For the sake of his family. He began to approach the door, guns pointed at him, but he held his hands up. Ironic. Since him raising his hands was probably the most threatening thing he could do. But he wanted show them that he had nothing on him.
"My name is Erik Lehnsherr," he announced. The guards hurrying over, shouting at him to get down on the ground. Erik complied as he fell onto his knees. They were keeping a distance, eyeing the empty space around him as if to assess what his plan was. Right now, he held no elaborate plan. He was known for his histrionics in the past but right now, his intentions were clear. Organic. He just wanted his daughter safe. A man came out -- one who Erik presumed was in charge of this place. Erik looked up at him. To be at the mercy of homo sapiens was causing him more disgust than he could say, but they had one of the most precious things to him. And he didn't want to resort to violence.
"I will come willingly," he told him. "I will not fight. No one will get hurt." Erik had never lied before, and he had no intention of starting now. "Just, let her go. She has nothing to do with this." She didn't know. Yet, the crippling fear that they had discovered she was a mutant, or would keep her as leverage, was not far from his mind. But the man looked into Erik's eyes and nodded. Erik felt some relief in the response.
"Search him, and then restrain him." As promised, he didn't struggle as they pushed him to the ground to see if he had any metal on him. When they were satisfied that he didn't, they pulled out the plastic ties which were tightened around his wrists. His pain threshold was high enough that he didn't flinch. Wounds of the heart far exceeded any physical wound. He moved along with the hoard of men, leading them into the building and towards what he presumed would be his holding cell.
That, was when he saw Nina. Part of him wanted to fight against those who tightly held his arms, but he had promised not to struggle. And, the sight of her distracted him. She had scratches on her face and bruises over her body. What had they done to her?! When the door to the holding cell -- clearly specifically designed for him -- was opened, he was pushed inside.
"Nina," he breathed in relief, trying to hold back the anger of seeing her in this state. He would have taken advantage of saying more, but the words of the man in charge instantly silenced him. "Restrain her." Erik sharply turned his head to look at him, and that was when he began to struggle. "We had a deal!" A few people rushed in with needles in their hands. It didn't take a genius to figure out what it was. Pushing the sedatives into him, Erik almost instantly felt the results, but struggled to stay conscious. He could still see the man staring at him, despite the vision slightly blurring.
"I don't make deals with terrorists." Erik felt that suppressed rage start to surface as his eyes went to the sight of his daughter. "Nina!" The all too familiar scene, triggering him. Memories of his past rushing through his mind and provoking his rage. Just as watching helplessly when his mother was pulled from him, he now watched his daughter being torn from him. Both at the hands of humans. Everything outside the plastic walls began to shake -- anything with metal -- as Erik fought the sedatives, fought to move closer to his daughter.
"Do something!" He heard someone yell. One was already getting ready to pull down the concrete barrier to isolate the room from the rest of the building, but everything was moving too slow, and Erik's anger was becoming too great. And as if to complete the parallel, he felt something strike him hard against his head, causing him to fall to the ground and the last image, being his daughter taken away, before darkness consumed him.

The mean started moving faster, and Nina could tell something was happening. She stayed on the bed, but watched with careful eyes. The mood grew tense and the men were on edge. Nina didn't move until she saw why. "Papa!" She jumped up and ran to the clear wall, watching as they lead him to her door. Opening it she hushed toward him. "Nina," "Papa!" Nina for the moment didn't think about everything they've said about her father, she only knew that was her father, he was bound by men who hated him! He was doing this for her!
"Restrain her." "NO!" She cried out, and they grabbed her, even as she fought to get to him. "Papa!" Nine fought as she could but their were too many, and the men were too strong for her. "We had a deal!" A deal?! What had he done?! "I don't make deals with terrorists." She stopped fighting and looked at her father. Terrorist. Nina wanted him to deny it, and say it wasn't so. She wanted him to not be what they said. The men pulled her more away from her father, and Nina didn't have it in her fight now. Seeing her father like this hurt! She wanted it to be lie! That he was her loving father and had never done these things.
"Nina!" He screamed and she pulled that the men again, "Papa! No!" "Do something!" Nina kicked and fought as she reached for him. "Papa," She begged, not sure what she was begging for. They hit him and he went down, "NO! PAPA! NO!" Nina fought harder.
The men dragged Nina out of the room, and she tried to go to her father. She even got close enough to touch his face before they dragged her out. Nina screamed his name as she pulled her out. Crying they pulled her out of the room and own dark halls. She noticed that there was no metal anywhere here. How long had they planned this? How long had they planned to trap and hold him. How strong was their hate? Putting her into another cell, Nina fell on the floor crying. Her father had done horrible things. Now the men here were going to make him pay. Even if he had since then shown nothing but peace. Closing her eyes she wished there was some animal here that she could get to help her. Yet the humans had been so careful.

Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION Erik felt himself being pulled back to the conscious world. Part of him hoped it had just been a horrible nightmare. That he would wake up in bed, next to his wife with Nina sleeping soundly in the next room. But the second he opened his eyes, he knew this was not the case. The restraints still pulled his hands back, the cold hard ground numbing his body. They hadn't come to change him or reposition him. Most likely, due to the fear of him waking up.
And despite some people's best efforts of ridding themselves of metal, there were times when even the smallest bit, was forgettable. A filling in ones tooth, a wedding band . . . small things that were easy to miss. But currently, none of those were options for no one else was here. His face flinched as he tried to sit up, his head throbbing from where he had been struck, and the slight drowsiness as the sedatives weened out of his system.
The purpose of coming here had not been forgotten, and that was why he couldn't waste a single moment. He managed to sit up on his knees, still on the ground, looking at his surroundings. Plastic and concrete. This had been planned for some time. How long did they know he was in Poland for? Such questions would have to wait; he needed to find Nina and get her out of here. But just as his objective was not forgotten, neither was the betrayal of their deal, nor the marks on her face. Erik now knew that peaceful means were no longer an option. What had he said once? Peace was never an option. This, just further proved that. With his hands still tied behind his back, he sat on his knees and flattered his palms as best he could in this position. He couldn't touch the ground, but he just needed to focus. Closing his eyes, he steadied his breathing. The rage was there.
But he had not forgotten his friend's words. The power that could be unleashed. Erik had not done anything of this magnitude in quite some time, but if there was ever a time . . . it was now. He slipped deep into focus, concentration. The structure of this building had been re done, concrete covering it but it had not started that way. There was metal, deep under the core. Trying to access that though, was what would take majority of his strength, especially with his still groggy state. His hands shook a little, trembling, as he felt that attraction of metal. Yes. It was there. He could feel it. Under the core of the concrete, he just needed to pull it out.
Attempting to block our the time constraints, the magnitude of what was at stake, Erik continued to focus. That point of serenity and rage. Soon enough, it was not just his hands that were trembling, but rather, the very ground he knelt upon. Yes. Closer. Much closer. His breathing slightly strained, the vibrations of the ground felt beneath him. It was almost within reach. With each breath, each pull, he finally felt the ground crack beneath him and it wasn't long until it broke completely.
The mix of debris and plastic crumbled and flew behind him as a long piece of metal broke through the surface. It was just the first piece he would pull from the structure to make it collapse onto the ground. And right now, it was all he needed. He broke off a small piece, using the tip of it to break the restraints. The moment he did, his eyes opened and behind them, was no longer Henryk Gurzsky. It wasn't even Erik Lehnsherr. It was Magneto.

Nina felt the build shake a little, and she lifted her face from where she had been hiding it in her knees after a few hours of being in the dark room alone. Standing she put her hand on the wall and looked around. Earthquake? In Poland!? NOW?! Something was happening. She could feel the build tremble--and then it stopped.
She stood there still for a moment, then yelling outside her door happened. Dropping her hand she turned to stand and stare defiantly at whoever came through the door. The man in charge, the one who's name she didn't know, came in and yelled in Polish for her to come. She tried to fight it, but he pulled her into the hall. FINALLY, she got a good kick in, and began running down the hall but he grabbed her by her waist and pulled her into him. Lifting a weapon to her head, he told her not to move, and began pulling her down the hall.
Even with the plastic gun there, she tried to grab onto the walls and tried to fight his hold. She'd heard the stories of what had happened to her parents--not the details but the stories. She didn't know what would happen but she planned to fight every step of the way. The man twisted so she was slammed against the wall, and dizziness broke out around her. Her vision danced as she room drew dark and light. She knew she wouldn't faint, but it made fighting hard. When they got to a door he froze, and wasn't sure why. Yet he held her there, waiting for something. When she could stand, he put her on her own feet, and stood behind her. "Don't move." he ordered, and she realized then he wasn't planning to use her for testing.
She was a shield. Something was coming.

Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION This, was all he needed. He turned around, his hand motioning forward so that the metal bar pierced the plastic and concrete. He then pulled his hand back and to the side, prompting the bar to rip apart the material that barricaded him. Any barrier between him and his daughter would be destroyed. Stepping out, he could hear the footsteps echoing down the hall, but he just kept walking forward.
"FREEZE!" One of them shouted, plastic guns with what Magneto assumed to be rubber bullets inside pointed at him with a handful of men. "I think we're quite past that," Magneto answer. He flicked his hand and a piece of the metal from the bar broke out, quickly creating a circular motion with his hand so that the metal shaped into a circle. Just in time for it to serve as a shield that blocked all the bullets as they echoed in the hallway. When it finally stopped, Magneto slowly lowered the shield to look directly at the armed men. "My turn." Waving the metal bar so that it cut into two, Magneto pushed his hands forward as they pierced each man, spearing them before both bars struck the wall, the men dangling from each of them.
Magneto didn't waste any time looking at what he did. Instead, he lowered his hand to the ground, ripping up another bar that caused the building to tremble again. And another one. The structure's stability was slowly declining, and Magneto would watch it all crumble to the floor. He made his way down the hall, the two metal bars on either side of him, flying in the air and eliminating any threat that came before him. When he got to a new set of doors, the man sitting there behind a monitor looked at him, clearly not even bothering to reach for his gun as Magneto aimed one of the bars at his throat.
"Where is she?" He asked, far too composed for how he felt. "I don't . . . I don't know!" Magneto flicked his hand so that the metal pressed into the man's leg, the sound of his pain filling the otherwise empty halls. "TWO FLOORS UP!" He shouted. "Now was that so hard." Magneto pulled apart the doors, creating a large passage for him before the metal bar pulled out of the man's leg, and went straight into his heart. The mutant didn't even turn around to look. Didn't even flinch.
The part of him that had been suppressed for so long was finally unleahsed, and it was with a raging fury. He made his way to the designated area, leaving no survivors. Showing no mercy. Just as they had not shown his family. Until finally, he reached the area he had been searching for. Pulling apart the door, there he saw it: Nina, with a gun pointed at her head from the man. She looked disoriented, and Magneto didn't even want to think about what they had done to her. He only knew that he was going to make them pay. "Don't move! Or I swear I'll shoot her!" Magneto had tried with them; he had surrendered, made a deal, tried to get her out. But they had not listened. They never did.
The man started to move backwards, as Magneto stood still, but his demeanour was different. There was that confidence he had once worn; that look of superiority. Was the man really trying to strike a deal with him now? Don't move, or he would shoot. "I don't make deals with terrorists." For who was the true terrorist here. With that, Magneto jerked his hand forward, the bar striking the man's hand prompting him to drop the gun, and get pushed back and pinned against the wall. Magneto stepped towards the man, stoic, yet a look of grave seriousness on his face.
"ALl of this could have been avoided," He told him. "But you made your choice. You chose this." And it had resulted in his grim fate. The man struggled to pull out the metal bar but it was well wedged into his hand, and Magneto had no intention of loosening it for him. Turning, he moved towards Nina, his hand going to arm to gently hold it. "Nina, are you alright?" He asked, his other hand going to her cheek, looking directly into her eyes to see how coherent she was.

The doors where pulled open, and Nina watched as her father--her father!--walked through them. He looked different. Gone was the softness that he had always had about him. Now he was . . . stoic. More like the man they pained him as. She realized this was why they were afraid. Tears rolled down her cheek--and then something flew past her at such speeds and the hands on her were gone!
Letting out a little scream, Nina didn't turn around--not wanting to see what happened. Was he dead? She stumbled to the side and rested on the wall while tears rolled down her cheek. She wanted to go home! She wanted this nightmare to be over and for her father to tell her it was lies! That this wasn't really him.
Someone touched her and she jumped, turning her head to look at who but the room spun. Hearing her father's voice, and familiar hand on her cheek, Nina began crying; switching so that she was leaning into him instead. No matter what he was, he was still her father. The man who raised and loved her. Looking slowly back toward the other man she saw him there with his bloody hand, and she began shaking as she cried, seeing real violence for the first time. She turned to burry her face into her father's chest and hold on to him.

Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION As Nina leaned into him, burying her face into his chest, he wrapped his arms around her, closing his eyes for a moment. This was precisely what he wanted to protect her from. Being taken. The violence. Everything. It was as if his greatest fear had come true. While he knew that eventually, he would be exposed, he never would have imagined it would happen like this. And he hated that it did. It only fuelled his anger at those who provoked the situation. Kissing the top of her head, he drew back a little so that he could look into his daughter's eyes. "We have to go," he told her in a low voice.
Helping her to her feet, he kept his arm around her as they began to exit the room, the man's voice echoing behind them, claiming that he wouldn't get away with this. Magneto didn't even dignify him with a response, or a look. He just kept moving forward. Now that he had his daughter, he didn't need to spend any more time in this place. He led her out of the building, glancing around and pulling the nearest van towards them. "Get inside," he instructed her, waving his hand so that the door opened. He paused, turning around to face the building, thinking of the silent vow he made.
He closed his eyes to concentrate, his hands extended on either side of him as he slightly moved them up. The metal beams that held the building up began to break apart, causing the concrete to do the same and in turn, collapsing the building as it turned into rubble. The homo sapiens had made their choice, and they had paid the price of it. Looking at his work for only a second, he turned to get inside of the car. The keys in the glove compartment was only for appearance, as he could move the car forward with his powers, so although he held the keys, he just pushed his hand forward and allowed the van to speed off upon the open road. They needed to get to Magda before anyone else did.

Nina walked out with her father, and he pulled a van toward them. She had no idea how strong his powers were. She wasn't sure how she felt right now, and the emotions were too many to sort out.Once she was in, he turned from her. She looked as he used his powers to shake and crumble the build. Nina lifted her knees to the seat and covered her face. All the lives in there. She wasn't sure how she felt. Wasn't sure what to think. Were they dangerous? Yes. Had her father seen what dangerous men could do before? Yes. But knowing it, and seeing her father kill everyone in there as he brought the building was shook her.
They began driving, and she used shaking hands to pull on the seat belt. Then she wrapped both hands around it, holding on more for emotional support rather then the physical need to hold anything. "Where is Mama?" She whispered, the first thing she'd spoken after a long silent bout int he car. Her mother. What had happened to her? In the torment of everything she wanted her mother. Which was a little odd, because her whole life she always ran to her Papa. Ran to him when she was happy, when she was hurt, when she was scared, and when she was afraid. She still wanted him! Wanted him to hold her and promise everything would be alright.
And yet . . . she was conflicted too. How many things didn't she know about him? How many things had he protect her from? Was he what they said?

Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION Truth be told, Erik didn't know what to say in this moment. He had always hoped that if she was to find out everything about his past, it would be of his own accord, his own terms. To be exposed to it like this . . . so violently, so traumatically, was something he'd always hoped to avoid. But alas, he could not change what had happened. He could only live in the moment. She asked about her mother and Erik knew that was his next massive concern. He had bought them a little time, but he didn't doubt that they had informed others that they had him prisoner. That they had his daughter.
More would be on the way, and it was why they needed to get Magda, and then get out of Poland as quickly as possible. Their family was no longer safe here. "She's at the house." Home. Which, was no longer their home. Then again, home was where they all were, together. "We'll pick her up and then we must leave." Which, he figured Nina already knew by now. Allowing the car to move forward, he turned to look at Nina, noticing the scratches and bruises. "What did they do to you?" His asked, his voice slightly softer, the rage still underlying but . . . they were dead. And his tone held composure. After living the life he had, he was able to detach the emotion from his voice. Just, not from his actions.

At home. They were going home! She wanted to be safe inside her home, with her parents. Her feet where still up on the seat, and she still held on, as she wanted out the window trying to see where they were. So close. This had all happened to close to home! Silent tears fell over her cheeks as she realized they might not be safe at home.
What had they done to her. Nina didn't look at him for a moment, her feet pulling tighter to her body. Without thinking about her actions she was trying to make herself smaller, to hide from everything she was suddenly faced with. They'd not tested on her or anything. They'd just made her watch videos of her father and how different he was. She'd watched him do horrible things, and had seen how they blamed him for assassinating the president.
She said nothing for a long moment not sure she was ready to ask him about the past. "They just kept me in a room." She told him, her normal talkative self not coming out. She was silent for another moment. "They knew you'd come." And what that might mean. They'd been ready for him. She decided then that once they got home she'd talk to him then. When they could sit and talk. She'd ask him about the videos, and the hate, and the stadium, and the trail. She'd ask him about Pairs and the others.

Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION Erik wanted to feel relief at that, but who knows what that entailed. What they may have said to her. What they did to her. Had they experimented her while she was not conscious? He hadn't the faintest idea, but figured they would eventually talk about it. Right now, there was that tension, undoubtedly part of it due to the fact that he had just killed everyone in that entire building. She spoke of how they had known he would come and . . . well, it was true.
His family was everything to him, but he didn't know where to go from here. Not so much physically, but psychologically. They had unleashed Magneto and he wondered if things would ever be the same for their family. "I'm sorry Nina," he said sincerely, knowing that it would not make everything better, but had to say it. "I never wanted any of this to happen." To her, to Magda. To his family. He had once lost all that he loved, and was terrified of the same thing happening. He thought being Henryk was what it took to protect them . . . but apparently, he needed to be Magneto to do so.

He was sorry. Nina knew that was true. No matter who he used to be, and what they had shown her she knew her father. She knew he loved her, and that he had put in years of protecting and raising her. She knew that he would always put her first no matter what it cost him. She knew that he would be there for her no matter what she did. For her mother, whom she loved. Her human mother that he loved. She knew that.
Just as she knew that he had loved Poland, and their home. That he had put everything into building that home. Chopped wood, and worked years as a wielder in hot and tiring conditions to support his family. He had build friends and a live here and he'd lived it happily. She knew these were true! She knew them in her heart, and while she might have been in shock today, that belief hadn't changed. His words were a reminder of that, and while they were small--small and simple words, they were big words too. He never wanted anything like this to touch her. This she knew!
Trusting in his powers, and in him, Nina hit her seat belt button and it popped out; and she launched herself into his lap and arms! She hugged him tightly to her and just let him hold her.
Because in the end . . . she knew she loved him, too. He almost died for her. And there was nothing worse in her mind then that.

Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION He heard more than saw the seatbelt, and immediately welcomed her into his arms when she climbed into them. He held her close, taking advantage of the fact that she couldn't see his face as he felt a tear roll down his cheek. He hated that this would be her life. He hated that he couldn't even let his family go for she was a mutant, and she too would be hunted for it. He hated that no matter what, they would always be in danger in this society. "I love you so much," he told her, kissing the side of her head. Whatever she now thought of him, he needed her to know at least that. The most important thing of all: that he loved her.
As the house neared he raised a hand to stop the car, and open the door. "Let's go," he told her, hearing Magda come outside. He wanted for Nina to step out before taking a moment to regain his composure. Their life here as the Gurzsky family was over, and now, they needed to start again. Taking a deep breath and stepping out of the car, he saw that Magda had packed the bags, as he had requested. Walking up to her, he took hold of the bags. "We have to leave," he told her, knowing she would understand.

Nina held on to her father the whole way home! He told her that he loved and she wanted to say it back but the emotion made it hard to speak in this moment. She just hugged him tighter, hoping he knew that she loved him too--more then anything in this world she loved him and her mother.
Once they were home, she jumped out and rant to her mother, hugging her tightly too! She clung to her and Magda held tightly. Her Dad took the bags and Nina looked at them and then the house. Apart of her had known they were too close to home but--knowing and KNOWING were so different! She had so many animal friends, and memories in this place that she didn't want to leave it. She left her parents there, and walked in--knowing that they didn't have time but she still walked to walk the halls once more. Walking to her room Nina knew that this was her last moment here. She hated it! She didn't want to leave her home!
Grabbing a picture by the bed she turned to walk out. It wasn't that the picture was irreplaceable, it was that she wanted to pick something she kept. Once she was out there she looked toward the woods and told the animals they could have the garden as she walked toward her parents. Giving them a shaken nod, Nina followed them to the car.

Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION Erik took the moment to quickly explain to Magda what had happened, knowing that the details would come out later. Their daughter was not severely harmed, though he knew there was damage deeper than the physical. He then quickly changed his clothes, whatever he needed to do to briefly change his appearance. Putting on a pair of sunglasses he packed the car, and made his way into the driver's seat, waiting for his wife and daughter.
Once they got in, he drove. There was a safe house he knew about, as he had prepared in the event that something like this would happen and knew he needed a back up. The car ride was quiet for the most part, and their fake passports helped them pass the border. All Erik cared about was getting his family to a safer place than they were right now.
They only stopped for quick rests and food, losing track of time or for how long he'd been driving. They didn't need to stop for gas, thanks to his powers, but they did eventually get to the safe house. "Wait here," he instructed, getting out of the car so that he could search the vicinity and make sure that no one else were here.

They drove for long that it almost became easier to think. Easier to feel. Nina stared out the window until Poland disappeared, and then she curled up in her seat and closed her eyes. Before she did however she watched her mother touch her father's shoulder and giving him comfort. Her human mother, giving her father who appently hated all humans comfort. How true were their words?
Once they were there, Papa told her to wait here. She looked at her mother for a moment before following him inside. "Nina! Nina, wait!" Magda called out, but Nina followed in. She didn't know how to fight but she wasn't going to be over protected anymore. She wasn't even sure what had made her follow him, but her mother got out and followed too, clearly thinking to stop Nina.
Once she was in, she looked around trying to take in where she was. How did her father know to come here? Another puzzle piece pointed to his past being true. At least partly true. She came to rest next to her father, her mother coming in behind them. "Where are we?"

Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION Erik turned when he heard someone hurry inside. Nina. His heart nearly stopped for a moment out of fear. Out of the way she rushed inside, a place that was not secure. While he knew that these events would forever change her, to see that change now . . . and the repercussions, made his heart ache for the life of peace he could not give his family. He looked as Magda also entered, having clearly followed Nina inside. Turning, he looked back at the space in front of him, at nothing in particular while Nina's question filled the air.
"It's a safe house, in Russia." They wouldn't be safe for long, just long enough to plan the next move. He was used to hiding, and knew to be extra cautious with his family at stake. "You should rest," he told her quietly, turning to quickly get the bags from the car. Waving his hand, he moved the van behind the house. They were in the middle of no where, but the less that was visible, the better. Once everything seemed secure outside, he returned inside the house, knowing that soon enough, he would need to talk to Nina about . . . well, everything.

Her father went out to make sure they were safe, and her mother began walking around trying to move things around while talking to Nina about how things would be alright. Magda would pass by and touch Nina every now and then as if she couldn't not. Looking back at the door Nina thought about going out there but then turned back to the room. There she paused as her mother watched her. "Sorry?" Nina said in Polish, thinking she missed something her mother had said. Magda smiled "Go talk to him. Listen with your heart open." Magda kissed her forehead and Nina hugged her tightly.
Walking out to her father as he moved the van around back, Nina stood behind him. "Can we go for a walk, Papa?" She asked, knowing they were in the middle of no where, and thinking that meant they would be safe. "We wont go far." She wanted to walk and think, not just sit and not be able to do nothing. Besides, she knew they should stay near her mother. The family was stronger together.

Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION Erik looked to Nina when she came outside, and asked him to go for a walk. The fact that she was willing to; the fact that she was wanting to talk . . . meant the world to him. After everything she had been through. Part of him wanted to tell her to rest. That they could talk about it tomorrow. But, the other part of him, knew that he owed her this. And after all, it was often difficult to say no to his beloved daughter.
"Just around the house," he told her in agreement. He wasn't about to stray them too far, nor leave Magda unprotected. As he began the first step, waiting for her to move with him, he thought of what to say. Where to begin. How to begin. "I know you must have a lot of questions," he began, for as he previously accepted, he was well aware he owed her that much.
