Erik had never forgotten many images he had witnessed at the camp, as well as the pain he had experienced. One such vision was the sight of a gun being pointed at her; a line up of prisoners being disposed of as if they were garbage. It had been too much to bare and too much to allow happen. He had not had great control over his powers. Even now, he sometimes could not control his emotions causing his surroundings to reflect that lack of control. Had he only been able to save his mother the same way he had saved Magda, things could have been different. But Shaw had murdered her, in the name of science -- as he so often said. So, yes. Magda was right. So many had died at the camps. And Erik planned to avenge those deaths with the murder of a single man: Sebastian Shaw, and all the Nazis he was murdering along the way of his journey to find him. His smile remained when she reacted to her own words. He found nothing wrong with them of course, for the feeling was mutual.
Seeing her, how beautiful she had become, just reminded him of the depth of the beauty she possessed. It was not merely an outward one, it was inner too. Even though she said he looked well, he also knew that it was only his appearance that may have looked well. For inside, he was a very different man. She would soon learn of where his intentions lay; what he had dedicated the past few years of his life doing. His priorities. But not right now. He wanted to rejoice in finding her, trying to prolong how long it would take them to realize that perhaps, their paths were meant to cross but not remain together. He turned his head to look at her, memorizing the way she looked so he could forever capture this moment in his mind. "I never doubted your beauty," he began to tell her, looking forward again at the road ahead of them. "But nor had my mere imagination served you justice." For he had imagined her often. Of how she would look. Where she was. Whether she was well, whether she was . . . he had not let his mind wander to the worst possibility. There had to be some hope left in the world; a reminder of something good that had not ended in tragedy.

Erik watched her. She was saying that she could not, but he did nothing. Said nothing that persuade her. It was not his words that she needed to be prompted with, but rather, the circumstances; the responsibility that was now suddenly thrust upon her. She repeatedly whispered for him to stop them and he looked forward at the advancing men. "No," he stated stubbornly. His voice filled with a strong tone of finality, one that indicated he was not going to change his mind. Nor could she. Everything then began to change. Her voice grew louder, more intense and she began to yell out. Cursing him. Whatever she needed to do, he let her do. Whatever she needed to say, she began to shout it out. And he just stood there, witnessing the scene that was beginning to unfold before them. And then, she began to scream. It was loud, piercing, and almost made Erik want to cover his ears. But instead, he felt the power from it. He embraced it. He closed his eyes, a smile, almost a smirk, formed on his expression as he slightly raised his chin.
This is what he had forced her to unleash. The consequences of it had yet to be determined, but he knew that whatever they were, it would be strong. The aura of such power surrounding them and it was truly exhilarating. When the yelling was over, Magneto waited a few moments before he opened his eyes and saw the scene before him. All the guards were lying on the ground. Incredible. Were they alive? He could see their chests heaving with breath, so they weren't dead. Just temporarily unconscious. Keeping his gaze forward at the scene, he spoke to her. "Good girl," he commended, though she may not be able to hear him. With that, he raised his hands forward, waving them in opposite directions to open up a path; which did just that. The group of guards split into two groups -- as Magneto was able to control them due to the heavy metal they wore. He pushed them against the wall, still leaving them lying on the ground, but now, there was a clear path ahead of them. He bent down to lift her up into his arms, carrying her down the open pathway. When he got to the others, who were also unconscious, he checked to make sure they were all there, before proceeding to carry Lana.
He had known she could do this. He knew she had it within her to dispose of a crowd. All she had needed was the right incentive. With time, she could control that rage within her. After all, it was what he had done in order to gain better control of his powers. She held that potential he had always believed her to. And this was a prime example. Even she could not argue how strong she was. No longer could she disagree with him when he told her she had the ability to eliminate a small army. For she had done so today, and he doubted this would be a memory that ever left her mind. When he reached the exit and looked around. No one else had been alerted. While Magneto was not overly concerned with it, he knew it would be a good time to get the other mutants out. He set her down on the ground next to him and turned to face the building. Unsure of how deep their state of unconsciousness was, he ripped open the metal doors to the facility, knowing it would be easier to get them out if they had more space in their exit. He turned to look at her, and noticed Lana begin to stir. She was awakening. "Best find a way to raise the mutants from unconsciousness. Otherwise, it will be a lot of dead weight to carry," he informed her.

He gave a small, slight smile when she agreed to the location he had proposed. It was all he had to offer. His life did not entail a great deal to offer, not with what his current focus was. She apologized for staring, and she did not need to. For when he'd first laid eyes on her, he could not tear his gaze away. "My name would would have been there, were it not for you." Because she had saved him, in a way that no one else had or ever could. "Come," he said, wanting to speak with her in private, rather than in the middle of the street.
Shaw was not far from his mind, but he would for go this opportunity that may further guide him on his path, if it meant being able to spend time with her. It had been so long. Too long. Standing closely next to her, he began to walk in the general direct of the hotel. He was once again, trying to find the suitable words to say. Trying to think of what words he should prioritize in this moment. "Have you been well?" He asked, finding the question odd in his mind. It was so casual. So, generic. Indicating nothing that their past together entailed. But he supposed, it was a start.

The helicopter ride was silent. He looked outside practically the whole time, his mind playing over recent events, or more specifically, recent discoveries. He knew that he should be relieved that Manicore was destroyed, but how many more industries would be built for the sole purpose of experimenting on mutants? He would be lying if he were to say that was the only thing on his mind. Magda. She was a mutant. After all this time, she had been one of them. And he had not known. Otherwise, he would have protected her and she would not have had to experience more cruelty at the hands of humans. Soon enough, the helicopter descended onto the safehouse where they had all initially convened. "Stay here," he instructed both Magda and Toad. He then got out, watching the other mutants hurry inside, where they would be looked after. He could not stay here with them. He was a wanted man and he would not endanger such a large group of mutants with his presence. But, he had gotten out of the helicopter for one main reason.
Without going inside, he extended his hand, searching and eventually sensing the metal. With his abilities, he pulled it toward it and within seconds, his helmet was sticking to the palm of his extended hand. Lana was standing there, but he did not pay any attention to her, or anyone else really. His job here was done. He placed it on his head -- just in case one particular mutant was attempting to look for him -- and returned to the helicopter, hopping inside, seating himself across from Magda. "To our headquarters," he stated. She would come with him where they could have some time to speak of things, in a private and securely hidden location.

Suddenly all his plans for finding Shaw seemed to be put on hold. Because he wanted to spend time with her. He wanted to know where she had been on all this time; what she had been doing. And hearing her say that it was a long story, made him all the more intrigued. She asked if he was here alone, and whether they could step away to talk. He would like that. He wanted that. Their conversation would not be one that should be had in public. He wanted to sit down with her, really talk to her not engage in casual small talk. Her questions were allowing him to slowly snap out of whatever trance was hindering his ability to speak, and actually answer her questions.
"I am," he told her. And her suggestion to step away somewhere to talk suggested that she was here by herself as well. "I have a room in a hotel not far from here," he told her. Because of his mission, he tended to be rather transient. And that was the way it would have to remain until his mission was complete. "Unless there is another location you would prefer?" Meaning, if she had her own place here or if she was only in town for the memorial. Either way, he did not want to part ways with her. He did not want to reschedule. He wanted to speak to her now, feeling a strong need for her -- a need he had never felt for anyone else.

When he had opened the door, she embraced him and he placed one hand on her back in return. He did not let his expression soften. Though holding her like this, being near her, knowing he could keep her safe, was a relief, he still had not forgiven those who had put her here. When they pulled back she looked at him, silently showing that she was ready to continue. He turned toward the door, making sure she was right near him as they made their way down the hall. Noticing the signs, he read the holding cells for the other prisoners. Though she was the main reason he had come so quickly, he needed to get the other mutants out before he destroyed the place. So instead of immediately going up the stairs, he went toward the holding cells. Upon arriving, he saw the other seven mutants accounted for, and in cages, which conveniently, had metal bars in front of them. In one swift motion, he raised his hand and pulled all the bars off, releasing the mutants. He then turned back toward Magda, and continued to lead them to safety as the other mutants followed. When he had got there however, it was far from safety. Helicopters flew around in the air and more vehicles had come to response to the threat: to him.
He instinctively stood in front of Magda in a protective manner, refusing to let any harm come to her. Fools. They never learned and at the moment, Magneto was not complaining. He moved his hands in the air, causing the helicopters to collide into each other, resulting in an explosion, then doing the same with the cars. He piled up all the vehicles in one massive stack, causing them to crash and burn. Next, came the police. He turned around, facing the facility. It was time that Manicore came to an end. This time, instead of just tearing off the roof, he lifted the entire building waving his hands over to the other side where it crashed on the group of law enforcement, crushing all those that had come to stop them. He looked around, cautiously eying to see if there were any survivors. Another couple of helicopters grabbed his interest. They did not belong to the same law enforcement agency; they were their own. The other mutants rushed toward it and Magneto stayed close to Magda, ensuring that there were more attacks on them. The mutants went in two groups; most inside of one, Magneto, Magda and another couple inside their helicopter. Magneto motioned for toad to take off, and he gave a thumbs up, piloting the aircraft. As they ascended into the air, Magneto looked down at what was once Manicore Industries. This battle was over, but there would be more. Far, far more.

He could not stop staring at her. He could not let his eyes look away for even a moment, for he feared she would somehow disappear. She told him that she had been looking for him, and he wished he could have sworn the same. Swore that he'd been spending every moment of every day looking for her. Instead, it had been Shaw that he was hunting. What he could promise her was that his mind was never fully vacant of her. Of the time they shared together, however dark and grim the circumstances were, he would always cherish her company in whatever form it had come. He knew it was dangerous to let himself feel anything but hatred, yet he couldn't help it. Not when it came to her. He slowly raised a hand to her cheek, allowing it to rest there for a few moments before lowering it once more.
He didn't know what to say. Still, after making himself known to her, he was at a loss for words. She was far better at expressing himself vocally than he was right now, though the emotions he saw in her face, the tears in her eyes, made it clear that she too was still processing their reunion. "Where have you been?" He asked, not even sure what specifically he meant by that question. He hadn't been actively looking for her as much as he should have been, yet he also meant just . . . he didn't even know. Where was she living? What had she been doing all this time? Why hadn't he sought her out sooner? Would he have been able to find her? So many questions, and yet none of them seemed overly relevant right now. What mattered was that she was here, in his presence; they were reunited.

Magneto was experiencing a whole new level of rage. One that could only compare to the hate he felt for Shaw for all those years before he'd killed him. This time, it was not about avenging the death of someone he loved. He was about punishing those who had hurt someone he loved. She was still alive, and he was going to ensure it stayed that way. Magneto stood outside the facility, the anger so strong inside of him, that he was not thinking what the most strategic action to take was. His main priority was getting her out, and would go through any means necessary to do so. And he was going to make sure that every homo sapien here tonight, saw his face as the last image their eyes beheld before they died at his hands. He began to walk toward the building, raising his hands and pulled away the fence with such force, that it immediately alerted the guards standing there. "What the-" What, they weren't expecting him? Magneto took their guns from them with his powers, and immediately fired three rounds in each of their heads. Ordinarily, he would prolong the moment a little longer, let the bullets linger in the air, build the fear in them, but not today. He wanted them to die.
He continued to walk forward, more men rushing out at the sound of gunshots as the massive spotlight on the guard tower was pointed toward him. He could sense the sniper's weapons pointed toward him. He stood there, right in the spotlight. Good. They could see them. Raising his hands once again, he raised the vehicles parked in the lot, and threw them toward each guard tower with immense force. More men rushed out. But at this point, they seemed to realize that their weapons were useless, for they finally recognized who he was. He didn't have time for their pedestrian antics. He didn't move, not as a compliance to their commands which stated just that, but rather, so that he could eliminate each and every one of them. He took a deep breath and raised his hands once more. This time, he focused his energy onto the top portion of the building. Feeling a slight tremble in his body by the amount of force he was using, he directed his strength into ripping it off the building. All the armed guards in front of him grew distracted, their heads raising to see the part of the building, floating in the air. Magneto, guiding it with his hands, then slammed it to the ground, crushing all those who were in its path, which was most of the men who were trying to stop him. He then walked forward, on the way, pulling two guns from the corpse's of random guards. He positioned each gun on either side of him, floating in the air and moving alongside him as he walked.
Instead of traditionally opening the doors, he pulled them apart, destroying them to grant him entrance. With every guard who tried to stop him, they were greeted with bullets from the guns next to him. He did not flinch. Did not stop walking. The only time he broke his gaze to what was ahead of him, was to read the signs of where the labs were. They would be held there, he knew it. And if she was not there, then he would rip apart the rest of this building to find her. As he made his way down the stairs, he continued shooting when necessary, and eventually let the guns drop when they ran out of bullets. He reached the lower level of the facility, seeing the lab doors. He, once again, pulled them apart, sending the pieces of metal flying to the side. That was when he saw them, and more importantly, her. She was in a glass box and the humans in the room were clearly preparing to experiment on her. He felt that all too familiar fury surface once more. Deciding to create some irony, he forced the metal scalpel that one of the humans clutched, into their throat, causing them to die instantly. He then motioned for the examining board to be thrust forward, pinning one of the scientists against the wall, once again, resulting in death, for Magneto did not plan to spare any of them.
The third one attempted to make a run for it, and Magneto simply used the metal in the clipboard that he was holding on to, rip from his hand and slice his throat. He did not give the deceased a second glance. Instead, he walked up to the glass box where Magda was being held. He placed his hand on the glass for a moment, a glimpse of sadness in his eyes for seeing her in this state. It however, only lasted a few moments. He moved his hand to where the keyhole was and tore it off, while also ripping the door of the glass cage off its hinges. He extended his hand for her to take, seeing her in an entirely new light. While he knew he always loved her, that love was not turned into a deeper one . . . because she was a mutant.

She answered him, and asked if he knew her, and all he could do was stare at her, dumbfounded. He knew he should say something, answer her, but he was too much in shock. It was her. He knew it. He could feel it. He took his sunglasses off, and for the first time in years, since he had left the camp, he let an emotion apart from anger and hate, slip into his eyes and expression. How long it had been since he had seen her. He had hoped that she made it out alive, not knowing if she'd made it to safety amidst all the chaos. But she had. And, she was beautiful. Far more beautiful than Erik could have ever envisioned her to be. She had been his savior during a time where he believed there was nothing to live for. Though now he lived for vengeance, seeing her reminded him what else, who else he had lived for.
He took a few steps toward her, realizing that he was just standing there, staring, he needed to snap out of it and expose himself. He opened his mouth to speak and at first, no sound came out. But he had to let it. He may never get this chance again. "It's me," he said in a low voice, still trying to process who was standing before him. Knowing that his words could be far too general, he needed to further explain. "Erik," he finished, finally making himself known. He didn't need to glance at her numbers again, for he could feel it in his heart; one that suddenly held another emotion, apart from vengeance.

Magneto looked at Lana as she began to explain a bit more about the facility and those who were trapped inside of her. Eight. That was eight too many mutants who were taken. Forty guards was not so bad, easily manageable. When she finished explaining that part of it, she began to hold up the pictures of the captured mutants and simultaenously say their names. He looked at each one, starting with the first, the second, the third, and . . . it was when she got to the fourth that Erik paused. He stared at the picture and could hardly believe what -- or who -- he saw there. Magda. No. That was a mistake. She . . . was not a mutant. She was a homo sapien. Why on earth would they take a human to experiment on? Magneto knew that was not the right question to ask, for he knew the answer quite plain and simple: they wouldn't. Which meant, that she was a mutant.
That she had abilities. That . . . they had her because of that. He felt a surge of rage begin to consume every fiber of his being. A slight tremble, as the surrounding metal began to shake. Whatever shock he felt at this discovery was currently -- and perhaps temporarily -- replaced by the anger and infuriation he felt for those who had taken her. He was going to pay them pay. Every single one of them.Without a word of explanation -- or even acquiring of his helmet -- he walked right past Lana, right past the rest of the mutants, and left. There was no longer a strategy. No longer an emphasis on strength in numbers. He would not waste another second. Not with this new piece of information which had evidently changed everything. They had her. Because she was a mutant. The former piece of information was quicker to process in his mind, and once it was dealt with, he would start properly absorbing the latter revelation.

Thus far, Erik was not having much luck. He had not overheard anything, nor was there anyone here whom he could find useful information from. And he was looking at as much as he could, and listening as intently as he could. Seeing the range of reactions from former prisoners and those who lost loved ones was truly tragic, but that was not why he was here. The revenge was foremost in his mind and clouded any devastation or sadness that he felt. When Shaw was dead, perhaps he would experience the other emotions that were currently being suppressed. As he continued to weave through the crowd, he just so happened to glance at someone passing him, and his gaze just so happened to rest on the number tattooed on her arm. Every prisoner from the camps had a number on their arm, for they were branded with it upon entry of the camp. It was what the digits of the numbers were that caused him to suddenly freeze. It seemed that fate did not bring him here to find out information on Shaw. No. Fate had an entirely different plan.
He turned around, seeing the back of her head and realizing that he was losing her in the crowd. He quickly began to make it way through it, lightly pushing his way through, trying not to lose sight of her. Could it truly be her? Was she really here? He would never forget that number. For every day that he saw her, for all those years, he had memorized it. And surely, he was not seeing things. His mind was not that far gone that he would be hallucinating. His urgency to see if it was really her became greater and he pushed through the crowd more desperately, and continued to do so until he was right behind her and they had a little space around them. He didn't even know what to say. He could only see the back of her head, and she was walking away. So he had to say something. Anything. If this truly was her, he couldn't lose her again. And there was only one way to assure that. "Magda."

Magneto was a wanted man by practically every law enforcement agency. But with mutants, he was not a fugitive. After his televised speech, several had wanted to band with him; join with him. Erik knew what the future would have held in store, and just because they stopped this one particular threat, did not mean there wouldn't be more. It would be endless, until they stood up against all of them and proved that they were superior by being the dominant race. He was currently speaking with a few of the others, having gotten word that more mutants had been captured by Manicore. This time, they were taken to the actual facility rather than a temporary one. Magneto had a basic idea of where it was, but there would still need to be a great deal of planning involved.
If they were to go on this mission, they would need a strategy, and he had a number of those willing to go on this mission. They had apparently received a list of mutants who were captured, and Magneto was waiting to see it so that he could take into account how many were taken. Time was of the essence as well, for he did not want to get there too late. Who knew how long the homo sapiens would wait until they commenced their cruel experimentation. One thing was for sure though, when Magneto arrived at the facility, he was going to destroy ever last bit of research that Manicore had, whether it was their own or taken from Trask. He knew they would not be the last to experiment on mutants, but next time -- hopefully -- he would have a little more of a head start. Tag Lana and then Magda

Today was a memorial for all those who had died in the war, particularly those in the concentration camps. Erik was going no only to join in the collective mourning, but also, to find out more about Shaw. Since the moment he was released, he was consumed with vengeance. He was fixated on finding Shaw, and killing him. The man had killed his mother, tortured him, and murdered countless other people. He deserved nothing less than death. As Erik made his way to the gathering, he glanced down at the coin in the palm of his hand, something he kept to this day as a reminder. Not that he needed a physical reminder for it was permanently burned in his memory. Never the less, he clutched it tightly, tucking it back into his pocket as he raised his eyes to see the large crowd. They were all here for the same purpose, but one that differed from his own.
He did not get in the core of the crowd. He stood in the back, his eyes scanning over the people who were here. While there were painful memories embedded in his mind, there was also another person's name who was always there. It had not been forgotten, and he doubted he would ever let it slip from his mind. It was all he held on to; for during his time in the camp, she was his strength and the only thing that had kept him going. But alas, the world was filled with far too much hate and evil to allow himself such hope of seeing her. Which was why he was more focused on Shaw. On looking to see if the man would be mentioned by anyone, known by anyone. He began to walk around, still staying away from the center of the gathering, and just eying the large group of people, his ears attentively listening to various conversations of those he passed by.

She was already getting in his way. She was trying to lecture him about being better prepared for the future, about staying together . . . but he had all the knowledge he needed. After the visit from Logan, he knew what the future held, or would have held. He'd been right all along: there had been an inevitable war. But he was not going to tell Lana that. They had changed the course of the future, so he was unsure what was happening in this current time. But he did not feel the need to prolong his exposure to it.
"If you want to stay with me, then fine. But as I said before, do not get in my way. And do not use your abilities to attempt to control me." He did not have his helmet on right now, but that didn't mean he trusted her. "Give me your word." Because that was the only way that he was going to agree to them staying together. He had planned to come here on his own, and that was what he'd prepared for. Suddenly, she was here. Which changed things but not too much. He still sought out the same thing. He merely had someone he had to take along with him now.

Erik felt her calm down which in turn, allowed him to keep his own emotions in check. "It is not about stopping the fear, but rather, controlling it," he explained to her. People got scared. Mutants got scared. It was natural. It was what they did when in that state of fear that mattered. Magneto had found that place within his mind to control his powers; it was no longer anger that caused him to unleash his uncontrolled abilities.
He had full capability of using his powers, regardless of his emotional and mental state. The only time when it grew slightly more difficult, was when he was physically drained. "What runs through your mind and heart when you experience fear?" He asked. "What emotions? What thoughts?" To understand what to have her channel, he needed to know how she felt and what thoughts or memories fled through her brain. He knew for him, it was that feeling between rage and serenity, but that was just him. Everyone was different.

Her answer didn't come as a surprise. Had she still been with The Brotherhood, she would have been protected. They would have known about this far sooner and been able to stop it before it ever got to this level. "This should prove you wrong." Because she was not alone, despite his previous actions. Because obviously he cared, otherwise he wouldn't be here. He didn't expect this to regain her loyalty; he did not expect her to join him. He merely was showing her how a mutant helps a fellow mutant; and that was not done by fleeing when it became dangerous. Though, the lesson he had for her was not yet over. When she took his hand he helped her from the box and turned toward the door, though paused before moving any further.
"The other mutants are weakened because of the sedatives they were given." To keep them under control and contained. "Any moment now, a group of at least three dozen armed men are going to block our exit, and round up the other mutants, including the ones who came here with me." Why was he explaining this to her? He did not answer his own question as they made their way through the hall and sure enough, they were greeted with approximately the number of men he had predicted. Behind them, were the mutants. They had not managed to escape, and Magneto was not surprised. While he would not let any of them die, he was not going to do anything right now. "Don't move!" One of the humans demanded. Magneto complied, but not because he was told to, but because it was part of the plan. "Go ahead," he urged her. "It is your turn." For her to stand up, and fight against a common threat.

Erik could feel that fear and panic from her, for he was not wearing his helmet today. And he had not done so intentionally. His reaction to fear and panic however was not to lash out and become overly evident of it. It often resorted to a deeper anger within him. He knew what she was doing, and she needed to control herself. "I am not going to hurt you!" He snapped, his tone sharper than usually because of the emotions she was filling him with, for they reflected her own. "If you can not control your abilities, then you will get hurt." The responsibility was on her right now.
"I have a dagger pointed at you, and you are causing me to fill with dangerous emotions that can easily make me lose control of my own abilities." He was stopping the dagger for now, but if she continued to fill him with such feelings because she lacked control, then he could not guarantee that he would not react by letting the dagger slip more forward. He let the dagger fall to the ground, just to be on the safe side because she was making him feel far too many unsafe emotions right now. "Your powers are dangerous to yourself when you have no control over them. For you can not predict how another will react. When you lose your composure, your opposer will too." And that would only add to the danger she was already in to have caused her to react that way.

Manicore. This was Magneto's latest focus. They seemed to be continuing what Trask Industries had been attempting to do. And Magneto would not let them do so at the expense of mutants. This time, he would be better prepared for their attacks. He was not confined in a prison. He had a group of mutants who were willing to fight alongside him. So in the following days, since his visit to the shelter, he had been gathering information. Doing his research. They had a facility where they were planning on performing more dangerous and experimental tests on mutants. But it wasn't just about destroying the lab in which they worked. It was about destroying all of Trask Industries research. So that they had no starting point. So that if they wished to experiment, they would have to start from the beginning and Magneto wouldn't let them get very far. He had been collecting such information when word got out that Manicore had made their first attack: they had taken mutants from the shelter that Magneto had just been at not too long ago. This immediately made him prepare to get them out. He could not waste a moment. He had a fairly good idea of where they were being held. A few more mutants joined him, having friends that had been taken. While Magneto was receiving a list of names, one in particular peaked his interest. Lana. Well wasn't that ironic. He gathered the mutants with him, delivered a speech for morale, and went over the strategy. It would not be a massive army approaching the holding area. About ten mutants were captured. If they were wise about who went where, using their abilities to add to that strategy, then it would not be difficult to get them out.
When everything was ready and the plan was prepared, they set out on their mission. Thankfully, Magneto's research had proved to be effective. They found the facility the mutants were being held in and Magneto led the line, going to where majority of them were. As each guard was taken down quite effortlessly, Magneto's searched the prisoners for Lana. She was not here. One of the mutants said that they had taken her to a separate area: because she was the first to be tested. Erik told them to ensure no one was left behind, and he went to find her. Much to his delight, the facility was mostly made with metal. So each barrier he came across -- be it a guard or a locked door -- he could overcome it effortlessly. Finally, he got to a room, seeing her in what appeared to be a glass box. No matter. He looked at her from the other side for a moment before walking up to it, directly in front of the box she was being held in. He then raised his hand to motion for one of the sharp tools on the tray near the examining board, to start cutting a circle around the glass. When it was deep enough, he moved the cutting tool to the center, penetrated the circle and pulled out the glass. It was big enough for her to easily step out of. He extended his hand to her to help her out. "What did you realize when you woke up today?" He asked her, his words in reference to their last conversation. Did she still believe that mutants weren't as strong as humans? Did she still not see the world for what it was? Unjust, dangerous, and oppressive.

Erik could once again, easily understand her distrust for Emma. For a mutant to be able to get inside your head, know your thoughts, and you unable to do the same could be slightly intimidating. It was why Magneto wore the helmet. To protect him from not only Charles, but her as well. And whatever other psychological and mental powers other mutants had. Emma was a bit of a wild card. Having broken her out of her holding cell, she may have felt obligated to join -- despite the fact that Erik would not have forced her. From what he could tell of her so far, she would remain loyal and he would continue to assume that unless she did something to prove otherwise. "You do not have to," he assured her. "She knows what will happen to her if she crosses us. She knows what I can do to her." There was a difference between leaving The Brotherhood, and betraying the Brotherhood. His mind went to his and Charles' interrogation of her. She was more protected in her diamond form, but also more vulnerable should he be able to wrap some metal around her: she was literally breakable. "I will not let her harm you, nor anyone else here." That was a promise he could easily and sincerely make to Mystique. He could not expect everyone to suddenly trust each other, but he required a certain degree of loyalty from them all.
She apologized and Erik immediately felt the disappointment diminish. He never wanted her to think less of herself because of how she looked in her true form. The world had brought her down; had told her she was hideous. And that, was precisely why it needed to be changed. She spoke of how she did not want to just be a temporary novelty, that she didn't want to be like his sister. He could understand where that came from: Charles. Charles failed to see the true beauty in her, hence the reason she was forced to take on a form that made her look like a homo sapien. "You, Mystique, are a novelty that will never fade in beauty nor exceptional skill." He paused for a moment, slightly smiling, his tone strongly sincere for he was genuine in what he told her. He would never lie, especially not about this.
"You are indeed ravishing. And anyone who believes otherwise are precisely what is wrong with this society." Why this society needed to be changed. So no, she was not his sister. Far from it. And he would never look at her in that way. She addressed the night she was in his bed, and it caused his smile to slightly grow. Leaning forward as if to kiss her, he paused before their lips would have otherwise touched. "Perhaps merely thinking about it is inadequate. It leaves something to be desired." With that rather unsubtle insinuation, her next question caused him to stand properly again, no longer close to her that would indicate a suggestive nature. "I am happier than I have ever been," he told her. Because Shaw was dead. Because he had embraced his power. Because he no longer had to hide who he was. Because he had found purpose and direction in his life. He knew what he was meant to do, and with the help of his fellow Brotherhood mutants, they would create a world for mutants.

Stuff. What a wonderfully detailed answer, Erik thought rather sarcastically in his mind. She then elaborate, saying that she wished to witness if he was right. "This is none of your concern, Lana." Why should she come all this way just to see if he was right? It was different for him. He was a leader of freedom fighters: of the Brotherhood. He needed to see what the future entailed so that he could direct their focus at the appropriate and most effective targets. She was just here to come along for the ride. Which was completely unnecessary. But what could he do. The portal was gone. She was stuck here for as long as he was, because she couldn't exactly stay here in the future. "New York," he answered plainly, as he continued to collect himself so that he wasn't feeling disoriented or in pain.
Stuff."Do what you wish here, Lana. But do not get in my way." He didn't want her intervening. He didn't want her trying to have fun and mess around with him, or anyone else here -- including him in the future, who he was planning on seeking out. For who better to give him advice, than himself. With those words, he went began to walk toward the exit. He paused at the door, taking his helmet off and tucking it into a bag he had brought along. With that done, he stepped outside to experience the futuristic world.
