In the time since Lana and Erik had begun speaking again, they had formed a truce of sorts. Neither tried to kill each other, but they weren't exactly trusting of each other either. Which was why when she overheard this newest plan, she went to confront him and find out what was happening. However, she arrived late to the play and entered the room just as one mutant opened up a portal! "Shite," She muttered, knowing that anything could happen with Erik there alone! Too much information could either get him off on a spree or send him on an ego trip.
With that thought in mind--or in truth no thought in mind--she ran past the others and followed Erik though the portal that would lead them to the future. If she was honest to herself, she also wanted to know how it all ended. If you knew that you could do so much with it. While she wasn't willing to fight the fight, nor she did want to raise children in a world where they were hunted and used in lab tests. She needed to know everything was going to be alright--and she trusted Erik to come back with plans, but she wanted to know the truth, now how he wished to tell it.

Erik knew that this was extremely dangerous. But he needed to do it. It was necessary if he was going to change the current state for mutants for the better. He needed to see what the future held in store for them. Not wanting Charles to discover what he was doing or try to stop him, Magneto wore his helmet, not even considering taking it off during the travel. The mutant he had sought out explained himself again, giving Magneto all the conditions as well as cautions of doing this. It was clear that the mutant was nervous, but Magneto had managed to convince him of the just cause, and that he would be a part of fighting for justice for mutants. With that, he leaped through the time portal, which would take him to the new millennium. The moment he arrived, he was in some sort of abandoned warehouse.
He lay on the ground, needing several moments to collect himself. He had been warned that traveling through this portal would be excruciatingly painful, and that his powers would be temporarily weakened because of the his body's physical weakness. He remained on the cold ground for a few more moments, before forcing himself to rise to his feet. He was about to pull his helmet off, when he spun around to see that someone else had leaped through the portal as well. And who that person was, made Erik wish he could push her back in. While the two of them were not quite enemies, they were not allies either. She had made it clear where she stood. And Erik did not want her to be here for her views and methods were drastically different from his. "What the hell are you doing here?" He demanded, not yelling, but his voice stern, clearly displeased at her presence.

She landed on her back, legs flalling around in the air as she rolled to her knees and looked around. Bloody hell it worked. Erik snapped at her, something about doing something here; but she couldn't quite make herself hear him. Her gaze looking around trying to connect the dots with where she was. As Lana reached her feet, her knees buckled and she stumbled but pushed right back up and looked over at him.
What had he asked. Yes! Right! Doing here. What was she. "Stuff." She answered in a shaken voice. Then shook her head. "I uh, I wanted to go too. Needed to see if you were right all along. I wanted to know for sure." Half truth, half lie. Looking around she tried to take note of anything familiar. "You know where we are?"

Stuff. What a wonderfully detailed answer, Erik thought rather sarcastically in his mind. She then elaborate, saying that she wished to witness if he was right. "This is none of your concern, Lana." Why should she come all this way just to see if he was right? It was different for him. He was a leader of freedom fighters: of the Brotherhood. He needed to see what the future entailed so that he could direct their focus at the appropriate and most effective targets. She was just here to come along for the ride. Which was completely unnecessary. But what could he do. The portal was gone. She was stuck here for as long as he was, because she couldn't exactly stay here in the future. "New York," he answered plainly, as he continued to collect himself so that he wasn't feeling disoriented or in pain.
Stuff."Do what you wish here, Lana. But do not get in my way." He didn't want her intervening. He didn't want her trying to have fun and mess around with him, or anyone else here -- including him in the future, who he was planning on seeking out. For who better to give him advice, than himself. With those words, he went began to walk toward the exit. He paused at the door, taking his helmet off and tucking it into a bag he had brought along. With that done, he stepped outside to experience the futuristic world.

"Look at me! It's so tiny, how can I get in your way?" She said while following him toward the exit. She watched him remove his helmet and almost let him walk out the door--but instead jumped for them and closed them back so they were both kept inside. "Ok, maybe I am gonna get in your way here for just a minute."
"You can't just walk out there! We don't know anything about the future!" Letting the doors go, she tried to feel his emotions better while she talked so she would know if he had any doubts about this. "Either you've won your mutant vs human war, and everyone is living under your control--or you've lost." Or there was no war, and everyone was just walking around. "If you've lost, walking out there with no plan! . . . maybe we should stick together until we know for sure."

She was already getting in his way. She was trying to lecture him about being better prepared for the future, about staying together . . . but he had all the knowledge he needed. After the visit from Logan, he knew what the future held, or would have held. He'd been right all along: there had been an inevitable war. But he was not going to tell Lana that. They had changed the course of the future, so he was unsure what was happening in this current time. But he did not feel the need to prolong his exposure to it.
"If you want to stay with me, then fine. But as I said before, do not get in my way. And do not use your abilities to attempt to control me." He did not have his helmet on right now, but that didn't mean he trusted her. "Give me your word." Because that was the only way that he was going to agree to them staying together. He had planned to come here on his own, and that was what he'd prepared for. Suddenly, she was here. Which changed things but not too much. He still sought out the same thing. He merely had someone he had to take along with him now.

"I can't control people with my powers. Especially when they are aware of what I am doing." Lana reminded him, "However, I swear I will not do anything to to you . . . YOU you." She made sure she was clear, "If you future you has gone bat shite crazy and tried to murder you--" Would that be murder or suicide? "--then I make no such promises to him."
She stepped from his way, and waited for him to open the doors. She didn't know what she expected. "Do you want to make a bet on if they have flying cars, or robot maids?" She asked, watching him and the doors.

She stated that she could not control people, particularly when they knew what she was doing. Magneto lacked that much faith in her. Especially as she went on to say that if his future self threatened him, then she would use her abilities. "I do not need you to protect me," he stated bluntly. He was not afraid or concerned that his future self would harm him. He would know. Magneto may not know what he looks like in the future, but future Magneto would surely recall what he looked like when younger. "You will not use your abilities on either of us. Not me, nor the future me." It was not a request or a question. If she intended to stay with him, then she would abide by his conditions. Otherwise, they would part ways now.
As he stood by the doors, preparing himself, she commented on a possible bet: flying cars or robot maids. Magneto, once again, found himself fighting to roll his eyes. They were clearly not here for the same reason and obviously had different priorities. So he ignored her question. Instead, he pushed open the doors with his abilities, and stepped out into the bright sunlight. He paused for a moment, looking around and noticing how drastically different the city was. Massively tall buildings, packed streets, even people's attire was completely different. Luckily, he had dressed well enough to blend in. He put his sunglasses on, and looked down both sides of the street. Using what judgment he could, he picked to go left. This was definitely not the 70s any more.

"What ev." She said, using her old street lingo instead of the words she had learned form him, in order to better ignore his words. She had no intention of obeying him blindly. If she felt they were in danger, then she was going to act according--this was why she wasn't in his brotherhood. She was a on her own.
As they walked away from the warehouse she began to notice people walking around. "Disappointing," She muttered, "It seems everyone forgot how to dress." But they had other things to worry about, so as they walked she began thinking--out loud. "You going to be an old man. What if you have kids? What if your daughter hits on you? What if my daughter hits on you? . . . . Don't hit on my daughter!" She said and smacked his arm, as if she was mad at him doing it.
Then she asked the important ones. "What if you're an old man with a house and a mortgage and two point five kids who hates you, with a dog that barks all night?" Translated too 'what if you hate your life?'

While it did not come as any surprise to Magneto that Lana was going on about his potential daughter making an advance, or him making an advance on her daughter, or whatever else she was prattling on about, it made Magneto no more tolerant of it. For he was not here for such trivialities. When she hit his arm he briefly glanced at her for her reaction had come from an entirely hypothetical situation that she was making up the more she spoke. ["I can not fully express how little concern I have for your life in this time." Because he was not here for that. And he was not going to digress from his purpose of coming.
Her next question however was one regarding his current life here. The way she had described it purposely sounding unappealing to Magneto. But then, that had been the point. Perhaps it could have been suited for Erik had he not been placed in the concentration camp when he was young. But not Magneto. And he was confident that the choices he made up to this day, would not steer him toward the life that Lana had suggested. "That will not be my life," he stated confidently. Nothing could have changed that much. "Why, is that the life you wish to have for yourself?" He asked, wondering if she wanted to be the kind to settle, have a family, and apparently, a non stop barking canine friend. She had after all, assumed that she was going to have a daughter, so it seemed that kids was something in the realm of possibility or desire for her.

"You might start caring, I might be yer only friend." That would be a sad picture, if she was his only friend. Which she doubted, but saying it was just her way of talking and deflecting her feelings of unsure when it came to her life now, and his lack of care for it. "Yes." Well, "No." Yeah. "I don't know. Be pretty sad if I was still alone and no family. I rather hope I have at least someone. If not kids and a life that wasn't spent like I do now."
What about him? "What of you . . . Erik." Not Magneto, because she was asking about his personal life, rather then his history driven anger toward the humans. "Would you be sad if you learned your alone? Like you'd fought the good fight all your life, but then what? Who'd you share it with? No one? That girl? What you hope to see here?"
