Mystique was still feeling a bit cautious around the newcomer. She didnt really know what he was thinking right now, this was sure a time when having Charles around could be helpful, knowing his intentions, knowing whether it was safe to trust him. But he seemed to genuinely be okay, and apologetic for his mistake. She felt like she might be able to relax...at least a little.
"Very nice to meet you too" Mystique told him, returning the smile, not being able to help it growing slightly as he said he was a bit envious. She really was proud of her abilities. It made her unique, and while there was a long period of time where being unique was the last thing that she'd ever wish for, there was something empowering about being able to do something no one else could. And she was good at it too. Erik had helped her to see that she really should be proud, and feeling that way wasn't a bad thing either.
She nodded at his question. "Yep, I can look and sound like anyone, at least so far I've been able to. It requires a bit of concentration, but I have pretty good control over it" She told him. "What' about you? You can levitate things?" She asked curiously, having seen the book floating earlier.

Mystique wasn't sure how comfortable she was with the idea of being around others that she didnt trust, and the idea that she didnt have to trust them. She was used to being around Charles, and more recently him, Hank, Erik, she even trusted Darwin and Angel. But Emma, for now at least she had a bad feeling about her. She didnt want her poking around in her mind. Magneto had the helmet to keep her out, but what about her? What did she have? Even her mutant ability wouldn't be much good if her thoughts betrayed her around Emma. She cringed at the thought. But she listened to Erik try to reassure her and tell her that he wouldnt let anyone hurt her. "Promise?" She asked him a bit meekly. She was afraid that maybe she wasn't as valuable to Erik as Emma could be...what if she went after Mystique, but Erik took Emma's side instead?
She was relieved to hear more reassurances from Erik, this time letting her know she was not just a novely to him, and telling her again that he saw her as both beautiful and skillful. Her feelings from him were really growing. He was the only person to every fully accept her, exactly the way she was. She smiled as he told her that anyone who thought she was anything but ravishing was what was wrong with this society. "And you are exactly what is right about society, and the future of it. "
Mystique watched the smile that grew on his lips as she spoke of being in his bed, and watched as he leaned in closer about to kiss her. Her heat began racing and she felt herself catch her breath in anticipation. "Then maybe we should do more than think and talk about it" She told him softly.
As he stood up straighter and told her he was happier than he'd ever been she moved closer to him placing her hand gently on his upper arm as she went beside him. "You deserve to be happy, and have everything you want"

Mystique loved watchin Corin's expression as he saw her change into a version of himself. The disbelief at it all. The awe and curiousity as he took into the information. It wasn't everyday someone ran into themselves. Hell, she'd probably be just as shocked to see someone looking like her running around on the streets. He seemed happy and extended out his hand to her, but then she showed him her true self. Blue. The first word to escape his lips as he really saw what she looked like. Mystique's happiness from seeing his earlier reaction to himself faded and she frowned slightly. She watched as he just stared, confused and stunned. She glanced down at his hand, which was still outstretched, wondering if he'd pull it away not even wanting to touch the blue girl, but he didnt.
Mystique was a bit surprised when he apologized to her. That didnt happen too often, or ever. Not when people saw the real her. It was disgust, outrage and sometimes even anger. But usually they didn't apologize. And to be fair she had surprised him, it wasn't as though he was expecting to see anything that she had just showed him. Shock was a normal reaction. Her frown turned to a light smile as he started over, reintroducing himself. At least the guy seemed nice. Even if he was truly freaked out by her, at least he had enough manners, or at least common sense given their situation here, to not be outright mean to her face.
She extended her hand, shaking his as he introduced himself "Mystique." She introduced herself. "I hope you're not mad about that little trick...I find its easier to show people than tell people what I can do"

(hope this fits, if not let me know, i can change it)
Raven was sitting at one of the tables off to the side of the bar by herself. Charles had left a little while ago, he ahd a paper to finish for one of his classes and was headed to the library. She still couldnt believe that soon he'd be a professor. She was lonely here without him but didnt want to go back only to be just as bored at the mansion. She had a basket full of fries in front of her that she was picking at when a waitress brought over a drink ordered for her by one fo the guys at the bar. She held it up and smiled in thanks to him. While she liked the thought that someone thought she was pretty, she knew it was just a rouse. She was sitting here looking like any other normal blond haired college aged student. If he saw her blue skin and red hair he'd probably have gone running in the opposite direction instead of buying her a drink.
Raven looked over towards the door as she saw a young girl coming in who seemed to be hiding behind a hood and sunglasses. Raven looked at her curiously for a moment, noticing the paleness of her skin. She found herself watching this girl from across the bar as she ordere her water. Raven didnt even really realize how much attention she was paying to the girl until she heard the commotion the other customer was causing. Then were the words that made Raven's skin call *aren't human* and *freak show*. She had heard things that enough as a child. The girl had to be like her, another mutant. Raven sprang up from her seat and walked with determination across the croweded restaurant. She walked right up to them and put herself between the girl and the men. "You leave her alone, she's with me. And I wouldn't call anyone a freak show with the way that you look and act. Miss a few phases of evolution? Go back to the stone age creep." She told him wth a look that dared any of them to continue to give the girl trouble.

"Emma...I dont trust her yet either" Mystique told him as he mentioned having her on their side now. Yes, Mystique had gone with him to break her out of the prison cell, but they had fought against her not so long ago. She was with Shaw. It made her uneasy. The idea of her having powers like Charles scared her too. Charles had promised he would never read Raven's mind, and she trusted him to keep that promise. But she was worried Emma might try getting in there, she didn't want to know what she could do. She nodded as Erik agreed that Hank would take care of Charles. It was her only consolation about the situation right now. Sure Charles had the money for any medical expenses he might need, but she knew he needed a friend watching out for him too. Hank was a good friend.
Mystique frowned as he told her she disappointed him and called him Raven. From anyone else she would have seen it as an interchangable use of her name. But she knew from him he was saying it to make a point to her. "I didnt...I'm sorry. " She said knowing he was disappointed and feeling as if she were a puppy who had just been scolded. "I dont want to just be a novelty that wears off...and I also don't want to just be like your sister" She said knowing that's what happened with Charles, he never shared her feelings, he never could feel anything for her the way she truly looked. She wondered if that was always in the back of his mind when she was in her human form too.
If her blue skin could have blushed as he mentioned her being in his bed it would have. She remembered that moment perfectly, and the kiss they shared. He was the only one to ever call her beautiful in that form. And at the time she believed him, but she wondered if more exposure to it would change his mind. "You know what I was thinking when I was in your bed...and I'm still thinking about it now. She looked at him with a seductive glint in her eye. She wanted more than anything to be desireable to him. "But you never answered me...are you happy"

It took more self control for Mystique to not laugh when he dropped all the books to the floor then it took concetration for her to stay in Erik's form. Not that she wanted to laugh out of a mocking nature, that wasn't it at all, but she thought it was cute that she surprised him that much. She really hadn't meant to surprise him that much, and she saw how awkwardly he seemed after the display. It made her feel a little bad for tricking him now.
"That's good, the more you practice, the more you learn to control who you truly are and what you can really do" She told him, still as Erik, before changing in front of him, this time to look like Corin.
"I was just practicing too" She told him enjoying his reaction as he got to see and hear himself say the same phrase. She knew she had shown off enough. She was tempted to change into the human form she had grown so accustomed to when she was with Charles, but she knew that wasn't who she was anymore. She was here so she didnt have to hide. And if anyone couldn't accept that, they shouldnt be here. She then allowed herself to change into her true, blue form. She hoped the apprehension and fear wasn't evident in her eyes as she did so. It was easy and fun to show others how she could copy them, but they usually didnt expect that this was underneath. She was always afraid of seeing fear or disgust on the person's face as they did see it.

Mystique knew that Erik have found someone else like them. She was surprised really that he had done it so easily even without having Charles and cerebro to help them find the others. She knew now that she really needed to stop underestimating Magneto. When he put his mind to something, he got it done. It was something she admired about him. But this new guy, Raven wasn't so sure about yet. She had yet to meet him, but Erik had told her he was on their side. He was for their cause. She knew if he was going to be staying here with them, she wanted to get to know him, see for herself what he was like.
Mystique walked down the hallways to the room that she was told the newcomer had chose. Corin? Was that his name? She wondered if he'd take on a more mutant name like the rest of them. She was happy that Erik had seemed pleased with the nickname she had given him. Magneto. It sounded so powerful and commanding, just like him, so it suited him well.
Before approaching Corin's room, Mystique changed her form to look like Erik. She could at least show the new boy what she could do. She smirked to herself before walking up and knocking lightly on the already open door. I trust you find our accomodations to your satisfaction?" She said, her voice a perfect mimic of Erik's.

Mystique nodded as she listened to Erik. She was glad to hear him say how he'd never force anyone to stay. Not that she was intending to leave, but it was always reassuring to here the side she had chosen was being reasonable about things. She was a bit surprised when he said he wouldn't stop recruiting. "But how are you going to find them? They've spent their life trying to go undiscovered, without cerebro..."
She let her sentence hang, knowing they both would know how difficult things would be now. Especially if Magneto was trying to get other mutants, she really didnt know where he would find them. Sure if they looked like her it might be easy, but even if they did, they'd probably be in hiding. When he told her she was far from horrible she smiled more sincerely, thinking that he really did believe that and wasn's just saying it to make her feel better. "Hank will take care of him...he'll watch out for him now" She said knowing he was too caring to leave the professors side.
Raven nodded as he mentioned that Charles would want her to be happy. She knew that it was true. But she wondered if Charles ever would have considered her happiness would have been to go with someone else. She never would have thought so herself. She had always hoped someday Charles would see her as more than a friend, more than family. He did love her but not the way she wanted, he loved her like a sister, and she had resigned herself to that fact. But was she happy now? That was the question.
"I think I will be" She told him truthfully. "I don't want to hide...I don't want to be ashamed of who I am, what I can do or what I look like any longer...its exhausting." She paused a moment, before asking him. "But are you okay with having to look at a blue skinned freak every day? " Even more than whether he'd accept her fully she had another question for him, much more important. "Are you happy?"

"Maybe they have the same cause as us, but loyalty...half of them were fighting against us not too long ago, who's to say they won't just find someone else to follow first chance they get?" She knew she probably looked like a hypocrite to Erik right now. Standing their preaching about loyalty and jumping ship when had she really done all that much different when she left Charles? She agreed with him on a lot of points, that at least they were all here now because they believed the same thing, but she didnt believe they'd have her back. But Erik was different. He was someone she believed.
Mystique hoped that her newfound trust in Erik, or Magneto, or whatever he would decide to go by now wasn't misplaced. He seemed to really understand her. More than that, he didnt think she should be ashamed of who she was. It wasn't that Charles didnt accept her being a mutant, of course he did. But not like Erik had. Erik took her the way she was, without putting forth effort to hide, to blend in. Charles was always more comfortable with her using her skills to fit in, and to make those around her comfotable.
"I guess I'm pretty transparent to you" She said with a smile as he questioned what was troubling her knowing something was wrong. "It's Charles...I just feel like he has to hate me right now for leaving. I feel like I turned my back on him when he really needed when practically all my life he's taken care of me. Am I a horrible person?"

Raven sat in the kitchen by the counter, leaning against it slightly. A glass off water sat in front of her, her blue finger simply tracing the edge of the glass, not really focusing on it too much, her mind too lost in thought over the events that had recently transpired. A month ago, she never would have imagined things would have ended up this way. She never woudl have believed someone if they told her that she'd have left Charles, or that he'd have been paralyzed like that; he was always so strong. She lowered her head slightly at the thought, poor Charles, he didnt deserve any of that.
Mystique let out a sigh, bringing the glass up to her lips and taking a small sip. She felt uneasy, but she knew in her heart that this was what she wanted, this is what she believed in. But then why did she feel so guilty? Why did she feel like she had just betrayed her only family. Charles had told her to go with Erik, he knew her heart as well as she did, he had practically given her his blessing. But deep in her heart she still felt like he must be hating her right now for abandoning him. They grew up together and now she wondered when she'd ever see him again.
Her concentration was broken as she heard Erik's voice as he entered the kitchen. It startled her though she tried not to react as if it had. She wasn't used to letting her guard down, and in a new place among new people like this, it surprised her that she hadn't been aware of his presense sooner. She turned to face him with a small smile. She felt comfortable with him, but still a bit nervous as well.
"Of course, its beautiful here"Mystique told him, knowing it was true, but also knowing she wouldn't have been able to come up with any kind of accomodations close to this. She paused a moment, listening to see if anyone else was nearby. "Do you really trust... "She was about to say them, but realized he really didnt have a reason to trust her either so changed her words "everyone here?"

Character Basics
.:Name of Character:. Raven Darkholme
.:Species:. Mutant

Appearance
.:Physical Appearance:. Mystique has a shapeshifting ability that allows her to take on the physical appearance, as well as the voice, of anyone she chooses. Her natural appearance, when relaxed and not focused on maintaining one of her shifts, is unusal to many. She has blue skin that appears a bit scaly, yellow eyes and bright red hair that she keeps slicked back and cut a little above shoulder length. Because of her ability to change her appearance at a whim, she often doesn’t wear any clothes at all when in her natural blue form, especially after joining up with Erik who encouraged her to be herself. Because of her ability to shape shift, she is able to alter and rejuvenate her body’s cells, and slow her aging dramatically.
.:Height:.5’9”
.:Portrayed by:. Jennifer Lawrence, Rebecca Romijn, Morgan Lily Personality .:Personality:. Raven is very intelligent, and an excellent fighter. She’s very independent and has been since a child, only able to trust herself for a long time. She’s also insecure at times about her looks, as her natural appearance is very different than most. Although insecure, she’s also not afraid of using the power of seduction to manipulate those around her if necessary. She is also very loyal, when she does trust someone, they have her loyalty until they prove unworthy of it. .:Powers/Abilities:. Shapeshifting. Mystique can manipulate the cells of her body to take on the appearance of other humans, animals or objects. She is also extremely flexible and an expert fighter. When she takes on another mutants appearance, she does not however obtain their powers, only their physical appearance. History .:Birthplace:.unknown .:Family:.none .:Occupation:. Magneto’s second in command in the Brotherhood .:Current Location of Residence:.unknown .:History:. Raven met Charles when the two were children. She snuck into his kitchen to steal some food, being hungry and tried to pass herself off as his mother when he walked in. Charles was able to tell it wasn’t her, and Raven revealed herself. Charles was the first person she met who wasn’t afraid of her when seeing her true self. He told her she could stay with him, which she did. Raven and Charles were close all growing up, into their early adulthood. She even helped him form the original X-Men team. The team which at the time included Magneto, helped avert the Cuban missle crisis, as well as the Hellfire club’s attempt to take over the world. Erik told her that humans would never accept mutants and the team split. Raven who had found more acceptance of her physical self from Erik went with him and helped him form the Brotherhood of Mutants. After Erik was arrested for the assassination of John F Kennedy, Raven was left on her own. She briefly traveled to Vietnam to help other mutants escape a military facility. She would be reunited with both Erik and Charles in the future. Sample Post Mystique walked into CIA headquarters in Washington DC. The amount of security would make even an innocent person sweat, but Raven had a smirk on her lips. Or rather, on the lips of the agent who she had assumed the form of. To any outsider looking in, she was not the blue skinned, red haired mutant freak the rest of the world normally saw her as. But instead she was a middle aged, slightly balding agent with a bit of a potbelly starting. She pulled at the tie around her neck a bit uncomfortably, but also knowing it was a tick of the agents (who she had studied earlier in the day to assume the correct mannerisms).
Mystique placed a briefcase full of blank papers on the conveyer belt to be x-rayed before walking through the metal detector. She didn’t need to sneak in a gun. If she ran into a problem, these humans wouldn’t stand a chance, she could snap their necks and have them wondering who did it before they realized anything. The security officer ahead of her waved her through the checkpoint and she retrieved her suitcase. "Thank you" She stated simply to them. Now it was just a matter of getting the files they needed, or rather removing evidence these people had been collecting on mutants.
