Her natural appearance, when relaxed and not focused on maintaining one of her shifts, is unusal to many. She has blue skin that appears a bit scaly, yellow eyes and bright red hair that she keeps slicked back and cut a little above shoulder length. Because of her ability to change her appearance at a whim, she often doesn’t wear any clothes at all when in her natural blue form, especially after joining up with Erik who encouraged her to be herself. Because of her ability to shape shift, she is able to alter and rejuvenate her body’s cells, and slow her aging dramatically.

.:Personality:. Raven is very intelligent, and an excellent fighter. She’s very independent and has been since a child, only able to trust herself for a long time. She’s also insecure at times about her looks, as her natural appearance is very different than most. Although insecure, she’s also not afraid of using the power of seduction to manipulate those around her if necessary. She is also very loyal, when she does trust someone, they have her loyalty until they prove unworthy of it.
.:Powers/Abilities:. Shapeshifting. Mystique can manipulate the cells of her body to take on the appearance of other humans, animals or objects. She is also extremely flexible and an expert fighter. When she takes on another mutants appearance, she does not however obtain their powers, only their physical appearance.

Raven met Charles when the two were children. She snuck into his kitchen to steal some food, being hungry and tried to pass herself off as his mother when he walked in. Charles was able to tell it wasn’t her, and Raven revealed herself. Charles was the first person she met who wasn’t afraid of her when seeing her true self. He told her she could stay with him, which she did.
Raven and Charles were close all growing up, into their early adulthood. She even helped him form the original X-Men team. The team which at the time included Magneto, helped avert the Cuban missle crisis, as well as the Hellfire club’s attempt to take over the world. Erik told her that humans would never accept mutants and the team split. Raven who had found more acceptance of her physical self from Erik went with him and helped him form the Brotherhood of Mutants.
After Erik was arrested for the assassination of John F Kennedy, Raven was left on her own. She briefly traveled to Vietnam to help other mutants escape a military facility. She would be reunited with both Erik and Charles in the future.
Sample Post
Mystique walked into CIA headquarters in Washington DC. The amount of security would make even an innocent person sweat, but Raven had a smirk on her lips. Or rather, on the lips of the agent who she had assumed the form of. To any outsider looking in, she was not the blue skinned, red haired mutant freak the rest of the world normally saw her as. But instead she was a middle aged, slightly balding agent with a bit of a potbelly starting. She pulled at the tie around her neck a bit uncomfortably, but also knowing it was a tick of the agents (who she had studied earlier in the day to assume the correct mannerisms).
Mystique placed a briefcase full of blank papers on the conveyer belt to be x-rayed before walking through the metal detector. She didn’t need to sneak in a gun. If she ran into a problem, these humans wouldn’t stand a chance, she could snap their necks and have them wondering who did it before they realized anything. The security officer ahead of her waved her through the checkpoint and she retrieved her suitcase. "Thank you" She stated simply to them. Now it was just a matter of getting the files they needed, or rather removing evidence these people had been collecting on mutants.
