Xavier put his fingers to his temple, and Lana made a joke of "That's not your noise." Before falling silent. Because she could feel him doing something. Inside her head. Slowly the chaos of a building full of pre-teen and teenagers on whatever mood swings they were hitting at the moment were fading away. The torment of emotions disconnected from her, and then there was a silence. One she had never felt before. It was almost unnerving. This quietness inside her. Instead of the contrast effort to ignore the others there was nothing. . . . and it almost made her feel empty. Alone. Which almost made her feel a panic.
Yet at the same time, she felt something else. Something akin to peace after years of living with knowing everything someone was feeling. Never once had she been able to turn it off. There never had been a moment when she'd not felt at least a handful of other people. Awoke from their nightmares. Cried from their heartbreak. Laughed at a joke she was took far away to hear. Now, tell me, Lana: what do you feel? Her eye moved to his, before lowering again while trying to absorb everything. "stop." She said softly, before speaking it louder in her mind 'Stop!'
Moving a few steps over she put her hand on the wall to bare herself from the emotions she was feeling at the silence inside her, and when the emotions came back, Lana turned so her back rested on the wall. Sliding down to sit there, she drew up her knees, and was silent for a moment. When she could speak again over the everything she had felt, Lana looked back up at Xavier, and felt sure for the first time since leaving the Brotherhood. "I want to stay and learn." To block it out, to use her powers better. "I'll do whatever you want of me."

"To be hones' wit' you chere, ah don't know the sciencey-stuff behind what's going on wit' me. Which is actually somethin' ah'd like to find out," So he didn't a lot about his powers. "Yeah, well I aint no scientist but maybe I can help with that. If I can't then I know a guy who can." Lana was the first to admit that knowlage was power--the more you knew about any given situation the better you could predict and play it to fit you. That included someone's powers. Her own, his own, whomever was around her. Like for her, she knew that her powers worked best one on one, and that while she could make someone feel something, what they did with that emotion was up to them. It was why she'd learned the art of the con from early on. You could stay the right thing, smile a pretty smile, and then give them a cocktail of just the right emotions and -most- the time they magically agreed with her.
Playing off her size, and the fact that she was a girl, made men the easiest targets for her. . . . . at least when they've not been drinking. "A job, huh? So, what is it exactly that you do? A purdy little thing like you in a smelly little bar like that, seems there's more ta you than meets the eye, petite." Bonus points to him for not assuming she was a hooker. If one more person assumed that was what she was, then she was going to give them a cocktail of emotions to make them cry for their mother for a week. "Think of me as a rich man's personal shopper for things no on the market." Thief for hire.
"Oh you are huh? Well, Gambit was headin' west, but for some reason, all of a sudden ah feel like I was headin' the wrong direction. Maybe east is where ah should be headin'..?" Did he refer to himself in third person? Lana turned and adjusted herself int he seat so that she leaned on the door, with her elbow propped on the window and her fingers in her hair, so she could watch him. She didn't look surprised at his sudden wish to go east. That had been her goal all along, after all. "Well, ah could tag along wit' you? Ah mean, you could do with the ride right? An' definitely the company?" Lana didn't know how to drive, which was why she always needed a ride. "Would you really?" She smiled slowly as if he made her happy, while slowly turning up his emotions to make him feel pleased at the sight. "You really are a gentleman, aren't ya?"
"If you plan to travel with me, then maybe along the way we can see about figuring the science of your powers." The hell if she knew anything about science but she wanted to know what he could do. She'd been trained by two very powerful mutants, and had watched them work with others--how hard could it be?

OH WOW! Congrats! You guys are great! I played your music this afternoon while doing the wash! My brother is in a band too! He works as a radio host on our college campus right now. I was in a orchestra in my first few years of high school, but haven't played anything since. I am not musically talented. I am also sadly lacking in my knowlage of popular songs/bands as Erik Lehnsherr will tell you. He teases me endlessly when I find a song like 5 years old and think it's new because I just heard it.
Best of luck with your music! *dances*

I wanted to be a writer! I even tried my hand at it a few times, but I start off great, but then get stuck and give up. November used to be the month I lived for (nanowrimo). Now I just post.
If you could have any pet (no matter the money, space, or time needed to care for it) what would it be?

“Just a simple demonstration of what I mean by ‘glass wall.’ All I will do is create a temporary glass wall between you and the rest of the world,” "You gonna put me in a box?" She teased, but there was still an underlying nervousness to her words. She didn't know what to expect from this. “I won’t cut you off from your powers, but I will place a degree of separation between you and the minds around you.” Which explained some of what to expect but it didn't ease her nerves any. Nodding, Lana tried to relax--however her powers of emotional control dind't work on herself. She she was left feeling what she couldn't help.
“It’s nothing that should cause you any harm or stress, though if you feel at all uncomfortable please inform me immediately and I will stop.” "Right." She agreed, growing less talkative while waiting for this to happen. They were in a hallway now, but she had not looked away from him to take in her surroundings. Instead she took an inventory of what she could feel--the emotions. Someone was homesick, but there was a light feeling touching it suggesting they weren't sad about it. There was another one that was stressed, and focused. Another one rolling through many emotions, and all of which Lana could connected to having a crush on someone and trying to talk to them. There were more too. She could feel all the kids here. Staying in a building with them was going to be hell if this training didn't work. "I'm ready. Wiggle ya fingers or twitch ya noise." She joked, as if they were the key to making his powers work.

Lana noticed the shaking, and she tried not to drawl attention to the fact that she noticed. However, that did not mean her guard did not go up, and her powers were at the ready. There was still a few tricks that she rarely showed anyone, because in their world, others not knowing what she could do meant they weren't ready when she used her powers to hilt. "Aah guess ah could throw one of these liddle t'ings, but that'd jus' be a waste'a good tabacca." What? She had been distracted by his shaking, but as he was stopping and getting control she looked up at what he was doing. Rolling her eyes, she leaned back on her door.
"You wanna smoke, chere?" "If I wanted ta die early, I could 'ave stayed at the bar." She muttered as her own reply before looking back at the road behind them. "Well, truth is, an' in case you haven't kinda' guessed already..." He pointed at her with that lit smelly thing, and she ignored it when she took a real good look at his eyes for the first time. Shite, what was he? "I'm a mutant and, well... Basically, ah can make things go bang." Oh really? The sarcastic thought came as she moved forward, to take his cigarette and toss it out his window, before grabbing his hat and fanning it around to clear the air. "Really? You're a mutant?" She asked with a load of sarcasm dripping from her, "I hadn't noticed."
Though his answer made her wonder if he even knew all he could do? She had always just thought her powers were limited to reading and pushing some control out. She had learned otherwise in her short stayed with two different teachers. Just as she had also learned to play her cards close to her chest. "And what about you, huh? You got some strange ability ta' make people angry or somethin'?" "Yeah, I make people go 'ahhhh'." She said it just like he had said 'I make things go bomb'.
"Do you even know whot you can do?" She asked, trying to find out if he was being vague or if he just didn't know. "Or why your eyes are like that? Cause see, I've never met a mutant who could only turn out one trick." She tossed his hat back at him, since she was done clearing the air.
"So what's yer name anyway, petite. My real name's Remy. Remy LeBeau." So Gambit was a mutant name. She'd had one of them back in the day when she ran with the brotherhood, but had opted not to use it when not working to make her harder to find. "Lana Kane."
"I was out here for a job, but that went south when the idiot had one too many back at the bar." She explained, while reaching out with her powers to give him a shot of eagerness right as she said her next line so he would think he wanted to go too. "Now I am going to head back east."

“I’m twenty-eight,” Not as old as Magneto, but shite! it was older then she wanted to be when she figured all this out. She could feel the slight shift in his emotions when he answered, and could read that easy enough. You had to apply some logic to people when trying to figure things out. When he said his age there was a shift, so clearly he thought himself old, or there was something else attached to his age.
Age wasn't so important to her, not when she'd been on her own for so long. She had felt the emotions of her parents when they spoke about being anti-mutant. Lana had left shortly after so she'd never have to feel what they would feel should they find out. To her, age was more about how one acted; and in that respect Xavier was older. At least when he was serious. When he had laughed at her he had seemed younger, but in the other times he seemed older then he was. Even in his emotions. At least to her.
“Would you perhaps care for a demonstration?” "A whot?" She asked, coming out of her thoughts, and trying to figure out what he meant. A demonstration? "Yeah?" Lana asked more then agreed out right. She was game, even if she had no idea what he was about to do. She knew she could show other's her powers so maybe he could too? The few times that she had let others feel the chaos that she felt they had been left in an confused emotional state, and rocked either back or fell to their knees. With that in mind, she braced for whatever he was about to hit her with.

He called them 'social creatures' and Lana raised her eye brows. He made them seem like something off one of them animal documentaries, but he didn't make it seem like a bad thing. He was even trying to point out how they were like humans--something the Brotherhood had frowned upon. Lana had come to believe they were better the humans, and she still felt that way. Apart of her even believed someone had to stand up for them, or the humans would begin to kill them off one by one. Yet she wasn't willing to be that person. Her powers hindered it, and she wasn't willing to die for a cause she only half believed in. It was why she left Magneto int he prison to rot, and the others hanging high and dry mid escape attempt.
“Thank you for your concern, but I shield near constantly,” Bloody hell that sounded tiring. To have to constantly be doing that. It again made her wonder at how strong he was. “As such, it isn’t as draining as you may think, at least not for me, and it’s become reflex, second nature.” Either he read her mind or he had been planning to say that, but either way he'd answered her question. So it cost him little now. "How old are you?" She blurted out, trying to see how long he'd been doing this. 'Years' had all he hinted too, but she wondered how long he'd been doing these things for.
“Though, I wouldn’t quite recommend how I learned to shield; it was all quite sudden, something of a sink-or-swim sort of situation, with an equal chance of both success and failure,” How else would she learn then? Magneto had thrown knifes at her head. "You gonna make me read a how to book?" She teased, trying to get an idea about how he would train her.
“For you, I would recommend beginning by envisioning a wall between your and the world around you. A glass wall, preferably; the goal is to make crowds more tolerable not to isolate yourself from the world, after all. It will take time to perfect and strengthen, but I’ve found visualization to be a rather effective tool.”
A glass wall? Like a window? Ok. A window. Lana thought about a window, and tried to even think about it between them but her imagination really was limited because it almost felt silly. Did she think about a window or a sheet of glass? Did she think about the words to a real glass? She could feel him now, and still feel him even while thinking about glass. Was she feeling him because she was trying to see if she could or was she just not shielding herself?
What ev. "I will work on that." She said dismissively, not sure how this would work for her. His powers were different, so why would the same things work? "Maybe when I got less on me mind."

He told her that she wasn't screwed up but really, how could he know that? Had he seen so many mutants that he just knew how to fix them or was he just a glass half full type? He even explained a bit about his own powers, telling her that he sometimes did not know his own thoughts from others. Alright, she could see that. How he might understand her powers because of his own. Maybe he could help her. Try to sort this out, and learn to get a stronger grip on what she was dealing with.
Pausing at something he said, it took her an extra second before she stepped into the lift. "Wait, shielding?" She asked looking over at him. "You sayin' I could shield others out?" How did that even begin to work?! If she could block out then she could find it easier to be in more control while in crowds--something she avoided because of that very reason. Turning so she was facing him while the lift moved, Lana tried to see how honest it was since she couldn't feel him emotions.
"How'd you learn to block others out?" She had the feeling that his training would not be throwing a knife at her head, but she could see why Magneto's training worked. He make her feel the fear enough to deal with it. She still wasn't fond of that training, but it had helped it. She could respect that. It did leave the question of how he would train her. "And Just so ya know, I wont try to dig too deep again. If ya know, it's hard to keep up or somethin'."

"You in luck, Gambit has one hell of a ride waitin' right over..." For once tonight she was in luck! He looked around and Lana looked back at the doors knowing her lie would only give them seconds. "Ah ha, there it is," Good! "You are gonna like dis ride, chere. C'mon!" If it got them away from here quickly then she'd be impressed! Lana's steps were smaller then his, so she had to run quickly to keep up; but in this moment she didn't care. Faster was better.
Gambit opened the door for her and she raised her eyes brows even while climbing in. It had been almost ten years since anyone did something like that and never had it been in the middle of a chase. The men came out and it took them only a second to find them in the car. "Ah know, ah'll just drive!" "Just get us out of here!" Before the mob caught up. Lana held out her hand while he was driving, and took away what anger she could--though with a mob like this it took effort. Once they were away it would only come back, and the humans would know what she did; so at best it was a head start.
Once they were a distance away, she dropped her hand. Damn it. Everything she'd worked for these last few weeks went away with that human. He had been the key to getting to the exhibit she was going to steal and sell for a pretty penny. Turning she looked at this Gambit. Really looked at him for the first time. He was younger then her, by a good few years. His accent said not a city boy, but she couldn't place it. His clothing however said an whole other story. "They're gonna follow, so I hope you drive as fancy as you talk." Not that it was fancy, but she picked up the few French words mixed in the English. "Unless you got something besides a card you can throw at em."
Lana turned to look down the center of the car and out the back, waiting for signs they were following. By the time the anger kicked in and they shook it off, with luck they'd bee a few streets away and a hard trail to pick up. "What do you do anyway?" She might as well learn what they had to work with. "How'd you make the card do that?"

“Now, Lana, he was a perfectly nice young man,” She grinned and shrugged, even chuckled lightly; clearly amused with herself. “In fact, you may encounter him again. His cousin is one of my students, correct?” If she was even still here, "Then I can just make him happy again?" She asked as more of a teasing suggestion, still unsure where he stood with her using her powers to control the humans aspect. Lana had the feeling that saying 'he was only a human' wouldn't be seen as something to get approval here.
Lana nodded as he told her to follow him, and fell into step beside him. Thanks to her lack of height she was about the same height as he was sitting. “Now, if I may ask, what—other than shielding—are you most interested in learning with regards to your powers?” What did she want to know? Huh. Hmm. "I met Magneto about a year before he got himself locked up." She began to explain, "I only really knew how ta control people, read people too. But when I panicked, or got scared I lost control. Made everyone feel it. Built up a few angry mobs back in the day." She said it with a joke, but that lost of control had nearly gotten her killed a few times. "I didn't even know I could get control til he showed me."
"Threw a knife at me head! Right 'ere!" She pointed to her face, as she told Xavier about her training with Erik. Magneto had though the best way to teach her control was scaring her to death until she managed to control the fear. "I though he was gonna kill me, but after a while I begin to get it."
And the point of the story, "So I don't really know what I want ta learn. I don't' know what else I can do. Have ya ever met anyone like me? Someone who is so screwed up we can't even turn our powers off? It's like . . . . Everyone's always there in a way. I have to stop and think, Is this me, or is this someone's else mood I'm getting? I have to dig myself out of everyone else." Which went back to her not liking to hurt others. Because their fear, their desperation to live--she felt it. The sadness, the panic, the fear . . . so much fear. Feeling death was the worst. It was why she could never be a weapon.

It was rare someone called her out of her mimicking, and Lana had to fight her own smile at the headmaster calling her on her antics. Thankfully, no one had ever gotten annoyed as of yet with her. Which was good, because she wanted to fit in, and mimicking was one way she felt like she did. That and you never knew when you had to have this information handy! Her reply began with a teasing double meaning, before it ended with her jumping slightly when she recalled something important."I think I would love to see your dormitories--Oh shite!" She pushed from the chair, "One second!"
Lana had all but forgotten the man who she'd made give her a ride. Pushing past the doors, Lana went back to where he was waiting. "I've decided ta stay. You can go north alone." She told him, while he looked confused. 'What?' "I have a craving for education, so I will stay. Have a good day!" She waved at him and turned to walk away, sending him an amused feeling to cover the confused one. She made a few steps before turning and admitting, "Thank you," And then walking back to Charles.
When she walked back into the office she smiled sheepishly, knowing he'd know she used her powers. "I had to ditch the human before he caught on." She explained, not knowing how he felt about her using her powers this way. She was sure there would be rules, as even the Brotherhood had rules. "So, the dormitories, yeah?"

“While I am ‘in your head,’ Ms. Kane, I do try to refrain from doing more than skimming the surface,” Skimming the surface. Her lips moved as she thought the words over in her head. This was the surface? He wasn't trying?! What happened when he tried? “I will admit my recent history may have made me overly cautious, and I sincerely apologize if I’ve offered you any offense.” Recent history. Looking down at the desk she wondered if he meant what happened to make him need the chair. Lana didn't know the whole story, Magneto and Mystique never spoke of it. The others had said some, but at the time she had not cared to hear the whole story about someone she didn't think she'd ever meet.
“--regardless of their socioeconomic statuses.” Their what? Clearly this is why Magneto and him where friends. They both talked so pretty. So far above her head. “I would do my upmost to aid you in furthering your abilities. Personally, I’m very glad you’ve no desire to bring harm to others—I think we stand to get along swimmingly,” Upmost. Swimmingly. As he kept talking, Lana walked back to the chair and sat down, crossing her legs and managing to do so almost graceful. She had learned to blend in and mimic others. Some of her time in the brotherhood had been spent mimicking Magneto. She could talk like one of the big boys!
“As for getting around shields, I will do my best to teach you both how to get through them and how to utilize them for your own protection. There are some shields not even I can get through, such as Erik’s helmet, or perhaps even Emma’s diamond form.” Not the helmet. Shite, that skill would have come in handy if he ever escaped. Still it didn't appear he was getting out any time soon, so why worry about it. "This sounds like a lovely opportunity for me to explore my powers and build a greater understanding of them." She answered, copying his accent almost perfectly. "I think it sounds just swimming!" Was that how that was used?
"Please do call me, Lana, as I plan to do my upmost to assure we become friends." Lana wasn't sure about the friends part, but it sounded pretty. She was still wary of what he could what from her. Magneto had saw her as a weapon of sorts sometimes, and tried to train her and push her into the fight more then she could with her powers. What did this one want? Everyone wanted something.

He called himself Gambit. Lana wasn't sure what sort of name that was but American's never failed to surprise with her many things, so she dind't think too much in to. Had she, then she might have picked up on it as a warning--He was a mutant. Instead she just kept feeding him the emotions she needed to in order to make sure he'd let no harm come to her. It was working too, he kept her close, make sure she was near and he was between the human and herself. Then . . . . things went south.
Gambit pulled a out a card. Really? A card? THIS was his weapon of choice? However, then it turned pink, and Lana realized what she missed earlier. He was a mutant too. THAT was the hindrance of being a empath and not a telepath--You got blind sided! "Shite," She whispered, more annoyed then surprised while watching it flair up and then he throw it--"OOOOHHHHH SHITE!" The card made the human end up over the bar counter, Lana jerked in a panicked sort of surprise for a moment, no longer annoyed but taken aback at what he could do . . . . and apparently so where the humans!
The mood of the room shifted, and began to grow anger. Frightened. It build to rage and anticipation. There was an eagerness that didn't mix well into the angry mob. The emotions of the room choked her for a moment, locking her up until Gambit pulled her toward the door. By the time they reached it she was able to tune out her powers enough to move more easily. Shite, though, this was getting out of hand! She had wanted to avoid the running and screaming tonight.
"Okay chere, any ideas here?!" Lana turned from where she was watching the men in the bar to see why he'd stopped. "Well, this is just not my night!" Pushing forward so she was between the bikers and Gambit, Lana held up her hands and pushed as much fear into them as she could without it backfiring into her. The bikers moved back quickly, parting from the door; their faces pale, and eyes wide. Turning she grabbed Gambit's jacket and pulled him toward the door. Lana was aware that she wasn't physically strong enough to actually pull him forward so she only hoped he would run himself.
Once outside she saw more bikers but they'd not noticed the chaos of the bar yet. Pushing more tears to her cheeks she ran toward them yelling with a voice full of fear, "Help! Please! They're fightin' mutants in the bar!" She told them, pushing urency and rage into them. They jumped from their bikes and ran to help their friends. Turning she looked at Gambit. Her voice was urent, but lacking the fear she'd just used when talking tot he bikers, clearing making the change from when she stopped pretending with him. "Please tell me ya drove here!" Cause she wasn't going to be able to out run a mob. Not in these shoes!

“The only stipulation I have is that he or she refrain from harming the children.” "I aint gonna hurt no kids, cross mi heart." He had said that a few times, so she was willing to bet he meant it, and was making sure in a non-violent way that she understood that. "You're in my head. You should be able to see that. I don't hurt people. It's why I left the others." Because they did hurt others. "I can feel what everyone around me is feeling. I can't turn it off. That makes hurting others a bit like self harm for me."
He called Magneto Erik, which told her a lot, and she wasn't sure who Raven was, but if Magneto was Erik then she was willing to be she could guess who Raven was. Mutant names. They all went by them in the brotherhood. She had known Magneto as Erik first, but she had not called him that long. She had been playing with his head when they meant, but then when he caught on he'd tried to assassinate her with her belt.
“Years of practice, it would seem. One of the first things a telepath tends to hear when they reveal their mutation is something to the effect of ‘Stay out of my head.’” Lana thought back and realized she had never demanded he stay out of her head. Should she? "Yeah, I get it. It's something I've heard a few times too. Thought I'm not really in their head. Just playing with their moods." “I’ve had years to develop my shielding techniques, Ms. Kane. Though, I can teach you how to construct your own, if you would be interested?” Years?! UGH! Years?!
Wait! Was he offering her to stay here? Lana's eyes traveled over the room once again. To go from the streets to this was . . . and step and half. "You offerin' ta let me stay here? . . . I aint got any money." So she couldn't pay him for her stay, but she wanted it. Wanting to know how to be stronger. "You teach me to get around shields?" Like a helmet? "Just ta be clear, I aint waning ta learn to hurt anyone, but when I left the Brotherhood, I sort of left them hanging. I rather know to protect my self, yea? You would do that?"

Someone approached, and Lana didn't look at his way, too focused in the moment with making sure the M word never dropped. Once one drunk yelled mutant, the witch hunt began, and then it was running, and all sorts of other annoying bits. 'You don't understand.' The man told whoever had walked up to aid her, 'She'd in my head!' "I am NOT in your head, mate, a fact I am rather grateful for in this moment!" That was one thing she was unable to do--get into someone's head. At least with her powers. Lana had learned early on that she could do it with her humanly ways though.
She didn't have the mutant power to make someone do anything, but she could make them feel things, and if you batted your eyes, or shook your hips right as you were making people feel the right things . . . well, they'd do just about anything for you. It was also why she never to rarely ever used emotions like fear, and hate on people. They could react either way, cowards would run, but others would take their fear and become violent.
"Let me go!" She pulled at her arm again, but he only shook his head. 'No, your in my head! I think you're one of them--' He go no further before she slammed her boot into his knee, and brought it down on his toe. He yelped in pain and she was able to jerk her arm free and stumble into the man who came to help her. Looking at him for the first time she noticed two very important things--First was his size. Shite the kid was big. That worked for her right now!
Looking into his face she used her powers to make him feel protective, which in truth was a bit of a cocktail mix of adrenaline, the smallest spike of attachment, or a fond emotion upon seeing her, and another tiny dash of fear. "You're not going to let him hurt me, are you?" She asked, putting the idea into his head that he had to protect her. "I want to leave now. Will you take me out of here?" Before the drunk finally got the M word out.
Yet she was a bit too late, because right then the drunken human drove toward her, finding his anger amidst his drunken confusion. 'You bitch!'

“No, Ms. Kane, you are perfectly welcome here, regardless of your recent history.” Her history? So he was still in her head. While keeping her out of his. This was something she really needed to learn. “Former Brotherhood member or not, so long as you refrain from doing the students any harm, you will always have a place here for as long as you may require.” Bloody hell he really was like how the others said he was. She had thought they were making stuff up and telling tall tales. "You'd take in your enemies?" Though to be fair, she hadn't really been his enemy. She had only assumed because she was because of how it was 'them vs us' on the other side.
"Former being the key word, yeah. When he got locked up, I decided it was time ta find my own way," He being Magneto. She thought back to the one prison attempt the group had made, and the chaos of emotions she had felt. Being over whelmed, and seeing they would not succeed, Lana had left the group hanging, abandoning them in their fight. She was willing to bet they weren't thinking fondly of her right now. "Sort of laying low from them right now."
But that was beside the point. Taking a few steps forward she paused to think a second before deciding the best way to keep him from knowing her actions was to not think about them too much. So she walked back tot he desk and stood before it. "How you do that thing ta keep me out?" Other then Magneto with his helmet, no one kept her out before. . . . She didn't quite like it. Wanted a way around it.

That . . . wasn't . . . good . . .
Alcohol. It ruined everything! Shite! Here she was, just trying to do something simple, and what happened? The bloody human had to have one too many, and start thinking! 'It doesn't make any sense.' He said, shaking his head. This was going south and fast. It was easy to control a sober man's emotions. It was child's play. Yet give them some drinks, and let the emotions get unstable and pron to swinging and it was chaos. "I'll be goin' to the loo while you think that over, love." She told him, sliding off the bar stool and planning her escape.
However, he had something else in mind. Grabbing her arm, he kept talking. 'How did you talk me into driving so far out here?' Lana turned her head to look at him, "I said please, and you were a gentleman . . . unlike now." And she'd made him feel everything from eagerness to lust, to anticipation. 'I have a family!' "That's not my problem, mate." 'What did you do to me?!' He was picking up on it. That it wasn't normal. With mutants being known now, it would not be long before he made the connection.
Bloody effing hell! This would ruin everything! He could have walked her right in! "Sorry, love, but this is gonna hurt you a lot more then me." She told him, before her face turned to one of fear, and panic; even going as far as to have tears show themselves. "Please! No!" She pulled at his arm, and screamed her words, drawling the attention of everyone in the bar. "Don't hurt me!"
Lana wasn't a fighter, but she was damn good at making others fight for her. And right now, the fact that she was only five feet, and so small, while screaming for the man to not hurt her . . . she could feel the mood in the room shift. Many were not pleased and it would only take a moment for one or two to come to her aid.

One moment she was just finding something good, something she wanted to explore with her powers, and the next she pushed out of his head. Apologies, Ms. Kane, but I must ask you to refrain from attempting to access my darker emotions. Reaching up she rubbed her temple while glaring at him. How did he do that? And more importantly, how did she get around it? "Could have just asked, mate" She grumbled while trying to fit a way around whatever he was doing to block her. She wasn't trying too hard, because apart of her was beginning to understand he was a bit stronger then her, and pissing him off might be a quick way to not getting out of here.
“And as for this place, officially it’s a school.” A school for mutants? That sounded vaguely familiar. Why did it sound familiar? “Not all of the mutants here are here as students,” A safe haven and a school? Oh shite! Lana sat up better and stopped trying to get around his block for a moment. Her eyes fell to the desk as if she was trying to imagine what was behind it. Would be be in a wheelchair?
Standing, Lana walked closer tot he desk and leaned over to look just enough, before standing back up straight and looking at his fave. "You Xavier?" She asked, one part surprised, and the rest she wasn't sure what she felt, but it wasn't good. Her eyes moved around the room, taking in where she was quite by mistake.
Would he hurt her because she was--or had been--with the Brotherhood? Back when she'd been 'Darklit' more then Lana. She hadn't stayed with them long (as she found out quickly her powers didn't belong in a battleground), but during the year she had heard of him. Magento's friend, Mystique's brother. He wasn't exactly against them but they'd always spoken as if he would stop them if he could. Staking a few steps backwards, Lana began inching toward the door, "Ya know, maybe I shouldn't be here."

He laughed, but as she wasn't trying to funny Lana didn't join him. The few schools she'd gone to before running away had all been ones filled with hateful adults. Old, grumpy, and never really caring. Yet she was using her powers on this on--just to read him--and she could tell he was different. “No, Ms. Kane, I can assure you that I’m not quite that old yet. I estimate I’m only perhaps ten or so years older than you are,” How'd he known that? Bloody 'ell! Was he still in her head? Cause she could play that game too.
“Now, might I ask what exactly brought you here? You seemed rather surprised to find other mutants here, so I suppose you aren’t here for the school?” Walking forward, Lana took a seat in one of the chairs across from his desk, and fell into it, crossing her legs and tossing her hair back as she lifted her chin. Something about him thinking her a student.
"I'm a little old for school." He knew her age, he should know that. Lana pushed deeper with her powers, trying to see what emotions he might try to hide from the world. Things he might feel but not act on. Wanting to keep him amused too, she used her powers to make him feel like laughing, even though she was digging through his darker emotions. "I was trying ta catch a ride north. He had to stop here, so I did too." Her accent was thicker then she planned just then, but using her powers to dig often made her not think of every word that came out of her lips. "Whot is this place?"
