“Thank you for that. How...how was she? When you saw her last?”Lana could feel touches of his emotions, but not much. Or perhaps she was just feeling the left over of whatever he had touched her with before keeping her out. Either way, she knew that it had not been easy for him to ask. "It's been a while, ya know, since I parted ways with em." The brotherhood. She'd been one of the crew for almost a year, before Magneto got himself locked up. The last time she had saw his sister had been when Lana was walking away from the breakout. Leaving the group hanging, and Magneto still locked up.
Which might not be the best thing to admit to her brother. "Things were tense." She admitted, "Cause he got locked up and they wanted him out. She was taking a big step forward. I got the feeling she was taking charge. Going to lead them herself." Which might have been fine if Lana had a mind to stay. But she wasn't planning to stay and be his weapon, Magneto might have a mind to use her powers to control the crowd, but she hadn't be willing to be his puppet. Not when she could feel the hate, and fear, and chaos of a battle field. "But that, there was some good times. She was training to be stronger. Fight harder. She was . . . . determined." But at what she didn't know.

“No, not exactly. The only children I’m responsible for are the ones enrolled here, at the school.” Huh, she had been sure she could pinpoint the emotions that strong, but apparently she was wrong. "Yea, guessin you got your hands full already." Lana picke dup something else from him, a darker emotion that was begin to build as if the memory was bitter sweet. He blocked her before she could get more then that however. “Actually, I was thinking of when I first met Raven—ah, Mystique, I suppose is what she prefers to go by now. One of the best moments of my life; the first time I knew without a doubt that I wasn’t alone in the world.” Ooohhh! That explained the bittersweet part. Cause it had not ended well.
Lana never really had one of those moments, as mutants had been spoken about and rumored. When her parents had hate toward the idea of mutants, she bailed not wanting them to know what she was. "Like I said, Christmas." She muttered taking that in. He got lucky to find someone, she had been on her own for years before she found another. "They talked about you some, ya know, but not much. It wasn't a topic they enjoyed talking about. I got the feeling she missed you, though . . . . and trust me, I know the feeling of missing someone." It was easy to pick up. She wasn't sure if that would help, or hurt more, but she offered it the same.
Lana didn't make a habit of telling everyone what others felt. It wasn't her job and once you started it became expected. People got bitter. However, in this moment she offered it. She wanted him to know in case he didn't already. Perhaps it would ease something. Perhaps it only made it worse.

"It is not about taking me down," Then what was the point of this? "It is about playing to the strengths your physicality offers." "Not sure if you noticed this, but there anit one for someone like me." She mouthed off, rebelling because she didn't believe she could do it. He was only going to make her look like an idiot and she really didn't want that.
"For instance, you are petite." "Thanks, for the complement," She teased, choosing to take his words that way. "You must then play to strategically impacting your attacker, and moving quickly, for it will be more difficult for you to physically overpower your opponent." Oh bloody hell. Here they go. Ok, she could try. Rolling her shoulders Lana got ready to try--that was until he kept talking. "But if you prefer to learn none of this, then by all means, tell me. I am not forcibly going to offer advice as to how to better protect yourself if you have no interest in it."
"No used to get snippy, old man, I am here aren't I? I am gonna try!" She only hated to fail--especially before someone who sort of wanted to impress. "Just tell me what to do, and I'll do it."

Alright. She could do this! Just think on what she was feeling. The silence. Work on that! Lana tried to feel it, and tried to make it fill her up. It worked for a few seconds, but when he started to get into his memory, it was harder. Her shoulders tensed, and she fought it. Not wanting to let it take over. It was hard though, because happiness wasn't something she normal even tried to block out. What was the point? Who dind't want to be happy? But she had assumed that if she could block this one, then she could block others.
Her hands lifted to cover her ears, though she knew that wasn't the source of where her powers picked up his emotions, it was just an instinctual and unrealized reaction to trying to keep him out. She felt excitement! The thrill of something. Happiness, the sort born of the first light in a darkness. It was the later that was too strong. Lana laughed softly, unable to keep it from affecting her. But the pushed at it, and tried to keep it out.
Until it became too much effort, and she dropped her hands to look over at him. Reaching up she wiped away a tear she had not even known had fallen. "Damn, school teacher." She teased, still grinning from the emotions. "That was like Christmas. You a father or somethin?" Surely a memory that strong was related to something like that?

He shifted in his chair, and Lana pointed at him with a big exaggerated grin, as if to say 'hey look at you!'. She really dind't know the details of his injury but she was surprised that he could wiggle. Did that mean he worked . . . down under? She oped he was hearing this. Maybe that would get a blush out of him. Either way, she dropped her hand and went back to thinking on his words. “Your mutation deals almost exclusively in emotions, so, rather than focusing on the concrete aspect of a wall or a box, perhaps you should focus more on what you recall from yesterday,” On the emptiness. That was mildly depressing but if she could try to think more on the serenity of being alone rather then the almost uncomfortable silence then maybe he was on to something.
“The relief, the relative silence, the emotional balance you want to achieve. Use those memories and try to calm your mind, first off.” "Alright," She said , drawing back to sit up right, her legs still folded. Resting her wrist over her knees in an classic meditation pose--because how else was she supposed to sit while channeling the inner silence? "If I am gonna do this then you got ta give me more then background, school teacher. Think of something that brings you strong feels. Something happy. That's easy right?" Not every mutant had happy memories but there was still something everyone had that gave them feels. Being free, using their powers for the first time, a friend, something. Rolling her neck once she readied herself for whatever he might send her way.

Why would her powers not be used? "Basic self defense tactics will be most useful," To the others! He had a giant red man, who could NOT look more like the devil if he wanted, he had . . . . others! Mutants who were tall and built stronger then her. Surely this lesson was for their benefit. Yet she could feel him, in her, feel that he was not teasing or joking. He honestly expected her to get up and fight him. Blood-dy-hell.
Taking his hand, she stood up and tried to read more of his emotions. The great part was, there was ALWAYS a flicker of something before anyone attacked. She'd at least not be taken off guard--she hoped. He might be faster, stronger, taller, smarter, meaner, and so many other things but she at least would know the second before he attacked. That was something right? "Come. Allow me to show you an example," "Sure, cause I can clearly take ya down." She said with a bit of scarasim, but was going willingly, and ready to see what he was about to do. Maybe this would be like last time, something that didn't make since until later?

Defend herself? Was he asking her if she could use something besides her powers to defend herself? Lana smiled, a bit boldly too. Yeah, she had some mad skills when it came to that. Tossing her head back, Lana explained; "Yeah, I got me a set of pipes. Someone comes up, I scream, and even without my powers people come to look. Then I just gots to make someone feel the need to step up and protect me." Clearly she was just teasing him, trying to write off what he said since she couldn't do it. Never admit defeat.
What need had she for fighting skills? She was assuming that was what he was asking her. If she could throw down with the boys. Truth was Lana couldn't. She never had the need and honestly, with her size, she knew better then to try. She was half the size of most normal people--you get someone tall and manly and she was doomed. "You got like ninja skills under all that tight control? . . . Cause you don't look the type. I mean, your fit and all, but you got like an i-rather-use-my-powers-then-beat-down air to ya." He seemed too controlled to be able to get down and dirty.

"I said perceived threat," She still wasn't sure what that word meant! "What ev." She brushed it off, "A threat is ah threat." She could see he might not be trying to kill her, but she wasn't going to back down and admit to being wrong. Let him deal with it. "Next time you abruptly take my glass, perhaps you should pause to consider the content of it." She could damn well bet there wasn't going to be a next time! Not even if her life depended on it. Well, maybe that. But nothing else short of it! "If I dumped it in the plant, I bet it would kill it!"
"You should get some rest, Lana," Ugh! How adult of him. Granted, she wasn't a kid either, but adults were always telling kids to go to bed. "I aint tired." She told him, trying not to sound like a put out kid. Her next words helped that a lot. "Where I'm from--" The streets "--You don't sleep a lot. You can't. At night more so. Besides, one of your friends up there is having bad dreams, while two of the others are in working the brass . . . . I came down here to get away from that."
"Why don't you go ta bed? I can stare at your checkers for you."

Lana ignored the first part of his words, as his later ones seemed more important in this moment--as he was stopping the car! She looked behind them, and gritted her teeth as he got out. In hindsight, perhaps she should have kept her mouth shut until the chances of him leaving her on the side of the road were less. "What the hell was that, ah mean, ah feel like I've jus' gone through a years worth of life in one day. I need some air..." He got out of the car! Great! They were clearly just going to have this out now! THIS is why she needed to learn not to trust people! However one fatal flaw with her was she never seemed to learn. Because she made people feel what she wanted, trying to judge what they would do and feel on their on became slightly harder.
"So how many times have you used this power on me, chere? Ah'm not sure ah trust you all of a sudden..." Turning her face away from the smoke, Lana waved the air clear before looking back at him. "Ah want you ta' be honest me now, chere, y'hear?" "You don't have to talk ta me like i'm three. I know what honestly means." She snapped, just annoyed this wasn't going her way.
"Did you coerce me ta do anythin', anythin' at all, since we met back there in th' bar?" Well here was were she decided honestly was over rated. "I got no fightin skills! Look at me! I'm half the size of even short men. My skills are getting others to do my bidding. So yeah, I got in over my head with the human. He had one too many drinks, and that makes it a bitch to control. I needed help, and I send out a wave to everyone in the bar. I didn't pick you out. I made you want to protect me." Among other things she would not admit to right now.
"But to be fair, had I known that you were a mutant, I might 'ave taken my chances with the humans! They get a little rough, throw a punch . . . Mutants blow shite up with a deck of cards and out everyone around them!" Which had started all the running she was trying to avoid! He looked at her with a blank expression, one clearly meant for her to be unable to read--but it wasn't his face she was reading, it was his emotions. And he couldn't hide them. "Look, I could have easily made you my bitch from here to East cost if I wanted. I decided ta trust you. I'm not using my powers on ya now. I was trying ta be honest. If ya gonna be a shite about it then just ditch me at the next town."
He wasn't really being mean about this, in fact compared to a few others he was handling it a bit better, however Lana had learned that no one trusted empathes or telepaths. They were the freaks among the freaks. Not even mutants really trusted them. The only person to ever let their guard down around her was Xavier, and that was because he was in her head and knew when she was toying with him. The only reason she was being a bitch about this was because Lana had learned the way to handle others knowing what she was, was to beat them to it. "And by the way, you can stare at me all ya want with that expression, but I still know what goin on behind it. That part I can't turn off. I've assaulted with everything everyone around me feels since I was a kid. So don't bother."

Clearly she was going to have to step up her game if she wanted to make him blush again. She'd have to think about that later, on how to make him blush. “Before I can expect you to block something out, Lana, I would prefer you have at least a basic grasp on shielding. We’ll focus on setting up your shields today, and then we can go from there.” Right! She could do that! He had told her to sit, so she moved over tot he chair, and hopped into it, folding her legs together at the ankles and leaning forward to rest her elbows on her knees.
“Now, if you would be so kind--" Lana smiled and playfully rolled her eyes at his choice of words. "--as to think back to yesterday, when I put a shield in place around your mind. I tend to describe it as a glass wall, but I have heard of other visualizations employed when others create shields. It all depends on the one who will be maintaining the shield, really.”
“So, think back to yesterday’s demonstration. What is the first thing that comes to mind when you think of the shield?” Ah! Alright. Lana thought back but she could only remember the feeling of it. "I don't know, ya know. It was just like . . . . me. I felt me. I wasn't thinking of glass or anything." She thought another moment, "Relief, and alone at the same time."
Rolling her shoulders, "But yeah, a glass wall works. Lets do that!" She closed her eyes and tried to see it. Or did she think it? Opening them, Lana looked at him. "So like, I can't make a box. Do I try to see it, or just think the words, or what am I doing here?"

"I did not," She smiled, and squared her shoulder, clearly filled with an abundance of self pride. She'd learned to control it. Even if it was once, she had known to hold it in without the need to manually stop and think about it. She'd controlled it! "It seems you are learning to control your powers in the height of your fear," "Cause I got serious skills, old man!" She teased, biting her lip and doing a little dance with her shoulders.
"Well done, Lana," Maybe he did know a thing or two about controlling her powers. Maybe she ought to pay more attention rather then just show up and play along. She had assumed that it would take forever with him just throwing knives at her but LOOK! Clearly she was just good at this! "For tonight proves that even under the most unexpected of perceived attacks, you have the capability of controlling your powers, despite your emotionally distressed state." "I don't understand half of what you say." She muttered, and waved it off, "But if yer calling you trying to poison me not an attack then you're clearly too used to poisoning yourself."

“And that will be something that will never change, I’m afraid, no matter how good at shielding you become,” Well that sucked. “I’ve been shielding since I was a child and even I can’t block out everything. There will always be a low hum, a muffled roar, a little like hearing the ocean from a distance.” Even that much would be an improvement to what she currently had to deal with. Which was a constant effort to not react to everything she felt--because she felt everything.
"Arn't we the losers of the mutant world." She teased, finding it unfair that they could never turn off their powers while others had something cool they could do. Rolling her shoulders, she looked at him, waiting to find out what he'd get her to do. "You gonna like, think something naughty and make me block it out?" She teased, just to keep the playing feel somewhere that wasn't built on self pity. "Or I can make you feel something naughty." She wiggled her fingers at him in a teasing mockery.

“Lana, I sincerely apologize for what Erik has apparently seen fit to put you through. He’s a rather straightforward sort of person, and apparently incapable of realizing that training mutants with psionic abilities is nothing like training those with more physical abilities.” She remained surprised while sitting there, even when he moved to the other side of the desk. She wasn't too mad at 'Erik' for the knives, even if it wasn't the best. It worked. She had managed not to project her own emotions out when feeling out of control. He gave her that. Taught her that. Still, she wasn't going to counter anything Xavier said right now.
“I have put in place a few low-level shields around this room, just in case something where to happen." What? Lana looked at the walls. How did he put shields around the room? Just how strong was he?! "Kay?" She said to show she was following, even though the shielding idea was odd to her.
He wanted her out there with him, so Lana put down the food and moved to stand before him. “since our primary goal is to get you into proper shielding, we’ll begin with the basics. How good are you at separating your own emotions from those around you?” Tricky. "Depends. When it's one or two, I can manage easy. That dinning hall of yours--ain't gonna happen." Crowds were a weakness. "I can show you!"
Moving forward she reached out to touch his hand, only pausing a second to give him a chance to pull away. Her fingers curled around his thumb, so that she wasn't keeping him there if he pulled away. Then she closed her eyes and shared what she could with him. It all mixed together, what she felt, the little she could get from him, and when she pushed out even the some of the dinning hall. She wasn't just aware of their feelings, she felt them too. With each emotion there was a spike in the chemicals that flushed the body, they filled her too.
Then she pulled in, only thinking about herself, and tuning out the rest. They were still there, on the edges, but her emotions took over more. Pulling back from Xavier and dropping his hand, Lana stood back. "I can tell what I got going on, but they're still there. In the background. I can't turn that off."

“Lovely offer, Lana, I’m sure, but you and I both know you’d find such a position utterly untenable,” He had chuckled at her words, but their was no adorable blush. Damn. She'd have to try harder, if only to get an emotional blush from him. “As for the paperwork...this may be a school for mutants but that does not mean that we are above the law. So, regrettably, paperwork. A wholly boring and tedious process, I’ll admit, but a necessary one in order to keep this place up and running.” Human laws. Lana couldn't help but to recall how the Brotherhood had taught her the difference. Humans obeyed human laws, Mutants obeyed their own laws . . . and according to Magneto, humans had too many rules. While she might not agree with Magneto's war time antics, she figured he was right about some bits.
Xavier put his pen down, “Well then, Lana, are you ready to begin?” Training. "Yeah," She said off offhandedly, before picking up some of the food to take with her wherever they were going. Magneto had trained her outside ad away from everyone else. "So whot you gonna do ta me?" She hoped it wasn't knives. As much as they worked, it had been a trail by fire that she hadn't completely enjoyed. "You got a helmet? Cause he needed one. Or you just gonna shield me out?"

“Come right in, Lana,” She let the door shut as she began walking into the office. “Feel free to take a seat; I just have one tiny thing to finish up and then we can begin. I hope you slept well?” "Well enough." She'd not awoken once all night. A locked door, and not having to watch your back did wonders for a night's sleep. When she was out there, she slept light and ready to move if she had too. Here she didn't known that no one could sneak up on her with the door locked. "Did you?"
Finding a plate of food in the room, Lana moved over toward, it and took it with her. Putting it on the desk beside where he sat. Then she walked around to the chairs before his desk and pulled it so that she too was sitting at the desk; beside him. Plopping down in the seat, Lana picked the food up and begin to eat it. "A mutant who can do about anything with his mind . . . . doing paper work." She teased, and looked over at him, eyes brows raised in amusement. Did he not find it mindlessly boring. "You should have a sexy secretary who dies that for you. I can play dress up if you want?" She was teasing him again, testing to see if yesterday was a fluke or if he could still blush. In truth she wouldn't be caught dead doing something so plain.

Post by Lana Kane on Aug 9, 2014 16:39:01 GMT
We'll begin your training tomorrow, following lunch, Lana, who had only just began to drift to sleep, pushed her head up from the bed and looked around. Be sure to rest up; we need you as alert as possible if we want any degree of success. "That's no annoying at all." She muttered, reaching for one of the pillows and burring her head under it. Reaching out with her own mind, she stretched it further then was naturally comfortable until she found the emotions she knew to be his. Taking a hold of them quickly she sent him a short, 3 second burst of 'giddy glee' mixed with 'excitement'. That alone could be her reply, and she could only hope he understood that while the emotions were pure she held a bit of sassy in the reply.
When she next opened her eyes, it was because of an emotion hitting her. It felt like slight panic, but amused at it as well. Her fist gripped the pillow for a moment while she adjusted to it, before looking around. Her shoulders tensed, for a second before her mind caught up to where she was and how she'd gotten here. Groaning she closed her eyes again. She was at a school! Bloody hell, just the though was enough to make her want to run away. Yet the memory of yesterday and the silence she had felt kept her in place.
What time was it anyway? Pushing her head from under her pillow she looked for a clock. Finding one beside the bed, Lana blinked a few times while looking at it. 12:30. She rolled over and stretched before she picked up on that it was light out--not dark. It was noon. "Oh shite!" She understood the emotion now, of amused and slight panic. She was late for lunch. Trying to climb from the bed, Lana became entangled in the sheets and ended up rolling right off the edge. Pushing from the floor she hurried to a door that she hoped lead to the wash room. "Dammit." Making a mental note to start watching her language while at the school, she spun around to keep looking.
It was half an hour later by the time she was fully dressed and standing in a hall a bit away from the dinning hall. She wasn't even close enough to hear the students, but she could feel the crowd. Feel the chaos of so many emotions in one place and thanks to many of them being younger they were all over the place. Highs. Lowers. switching between. Romantic, hurtful, fearful, gleeful, so very very many. "The hell with that." Lana muttered, before turning and going to find Xavier's office. She'd eat later, alone, rather then step into that crowd. How the hell did he block that?!
Turning down one halls she came to a dead end. Sighing deeply she went down another only to find an exit. "I need a bloody map." She turned again and finally found something looking familiar. Following a path she finally found the front door, before using that to trace her steps back to the office. Pushing it open, without knocking, Lana stood there a second looking in before reaching over to knock on the now open door.

“For God’s sake, Lana, there are children nearby,” Her face split into a cheshire cat grin at his reaction. It was such a delirious reaction, and one she planned to enjoy again. She had not picked up any feelings of him wanting to take her up on the offer, and that was fine--but his blush and clear surprise at her words were ones she would enjoy over, and over again if she had her way. “And besides, my dear,” Lana leaned on the door jam while watching him, “I fear, for the moment at least, you are my student. It would be highly improper.” That was the point.
She debated on trying to think dirty things but decided not to press her luck on her first day. “I’ll leave you to settle in for the moment. If you require anything, please do not hesitate to ask and I will do my upmost to accommodate. Enjoy your bath, Lana.” Really now? "I did ask, and you turned me down." She teased, "You just let me know when ya ready to train me. Just call me down to your office, and I can be the naughty school girl and you the strict headmaster." She teased, meaning none of the words that came out of her mouth this time. She had not even planned to stay them, only wanted to feel the fluttered? emotions that hit him the first time.
Leaning back into her room, she looked down the hall and saw a teenaged boy watching them. Winking his way, she turned and walking into her room, letting Xavier be the one to handle that one. The first thing she did was lock her door. Old habits. It had her feel protected. Safer. As she walked into the room, she pulled off her coat, dropping it to the floor. Followed by her over shirt, and the tee-shirt under that, so she only wore the tank top, shirt and leggings. Pulling off her knee high boots, she left them as part of her trail too until she reach the bed, and dropped down into it, face first. The bath could wait. She knew it was best to sleep while she could.

He gave her a look, and Lana grinned, grateful for the return of whatever had been between them. The lighter joking air that didn't let things get too deep. That would come later with her training, so she didn't really need it now. “There are a few you should adhere to, yes,” His words only made her grin turn to a chuckle, as they continued down the hall. Of course there were rules. It was a school after all. “Mostly those involve meal times and lights-out--" Lights out? Really?
"--and as you are beyond the age of our standard curriculum, you are not required to attend classes unless you wish to. I will work with you when I am not teaching, however.” So he was a teacher too. What did they even teach in this school?
“We try to keep meals as regular as possible here, so breakfast is at seven every morning in the dining hall—I’ll show you where that is—lunch is noon, and dinner is at five p.m., both also located in the dining hall. Lights out is observed at nine p.m.” . . . seven in the morning . . . . . lights out at nine . . . . right. There was two rules she was going to break on her first day. "You're uh morning person, aren't ya?" Magneto had been the same way. He had drug her out of bed before noon on more then one occasion for 'training' and she'd struggled to get their on time. On the streets it was the nights you had to be awake for. She wasn't used to this AM stuff. "I'll see ya at lunch then," She joked, "Or whenever ya get of school."
“Feel free to pick a room, Lana. There are about five rooms here that are currently unoccupied, so you do have something of a selection. Oh, also, do you have any belongings in your previous location that you’d like brought here?” Lifting her hand she tugged on her shirt's collar and then shrugged, letting her actions speak for it's self. It was easier not to have people pity you when you gave a sarcastic gesture. The second you opened you mouth and said 'I don't own anything' you could FEEL the emotions drop to pity. She was even now waiting for it from him. "That one." She pointed to the door most away from the others. Not that the little space would do anything for her or her powers--crowds were hell, and teenagers were the worst--but she'd take what space she could get.
Walking into the room, she paused by the door and first checked to see if it locked. Then looked inside it. "oh shite," She muttered under her breath at the size of the room. Bigger then she'd had before other then the brotherhood's brief stay at one of Shaw's old places. Running forward she jumped on the bed bouncing a few times before hopping off. Oh how the rich lived. Such spender! One day she'd have something like this. Not a school but a big house. Away from everyone. "Not bad, school teacher!"
Walking back to the door, Lana looked at Xavier. "Yeah, you know . . thanks for this." She shrugged as if it wasn't a big deal, though to her it was. "What ev." Another shrug. And then to remove the awkward feeling of feeling the need to thank someone for their kindness, she decided to turn the table. See if she could tease him and make him blush. Though he was sort of hot, even if he said yes, she wouldn't make him turn the lights off. "I think I am going to have a bath. Care to join me?" Leaning forward she whispered, "Or is that against yer rules?" Or did he even work down there?

He smiled, and Lana could feel his emotions just enough to know that it was an honest one and not a false one. “I’m glad to hear that, Lana. You have such a great deal of untapped potential, and I’m quite certain that you will prove to be nothing less than fantastic.” She'd been told of her potential before, and the words had come with honestly, but an slightly eager self serving one--or so she would learn later. This one . . . this one was not touching any emotions that could be connected to an motive other then what he had already promised her. Help.
And no one had called her fantastic before.
He shifted in his wheelchair and leaned forward, holding out his hand to her. Lana looked at her, aware that she hated to appear weak. It's why she didn't cry before others--even now when she was over whelmed. She never let others help her. Yet his emotions were so purely good that she wanted to let him. “Now, shall we continue on and get you settled in?” And she feared she'd only end up a disappointment to him, because that was how she always ended up.
Reaching up she took his head, but did most the work of standing herself, using his hand as more symbolic then her need of aid. "Lead the way, school teacher." She joked, trying not to let on what all this was doing to her, even though apart of her was aware he might already know. "I'm your student now."
Clearing her voice with a muted cough, Lana spoke again. "So, you got rules at this school I should know about? Besides don't hurt the little brats?" She called them little brats but it wasn't spoken in an unfriendly way. More of a tease really.

"You know a guy, huh? Some kind'a mutant scientist, ah 'ssume?" Lana chuckled at that, starting to feel at ease her own self, now that it was seeming they were out of danger and that this mutant wasn't a threat to her. In fact she was looking forward to helping him with his powers. Being the teacher this time rather then the student. She wasn't sure what the hell she was going to do with him but how hard can it be to teach someone? "He's a school teacher." She told him, knowing that wasn't really what Charles Xavier was. "And he's one of us." Lana hadn't stayed with him, because while she believe the world of mutants needed him, she also felt the hate humans had for their kind and knew that something was building--and she wasn't going to fight on either side.
Xavier. Magneto. Both had offered her a place in their homes, and on their teams. Only one of them had honestly wanted to help her, and the other had saw her as a weapon they could wield. In the end, she'd left them both. If Erik ever saw her again, she knew he'd kill her for betraying him. Xavier however, she had left him on better terms. She could go back there if she needed, but she tried not to need any thing from anyone.
"Well, ah mahself happen to be a kind of, how did you put it, personal shopper. You ever heard'a the Thieves Guild?" His words pulled her out of her head, and Lana raised her eye brows. "I 'ave." She admitted, "And you're not the first bloke who has thrown their name at me while trying to be impressive." Though most you could tell where lying. It had been some name they'd over heard, or crossed and they wanted her to think they were bad ass. "Let me guess. You're one of em?" It would be easy enough to tell. Let them get on a job and he could prove his skills. "Never met em personally though. Just heard whispers."
"So where is it that we're actually headin' then, petite?" "East." "You got some friends somewhere that we're gonna hit up?" "Don't have friends." Other then the school teacher, and Jay; but she would protect both their secrets with her life. She would not take anyone to the school either. She'd ask Xavier first, let him make contact. "East is where the clients are. Clients are where the money is."
"As long as you can help me stay cool, then there shouldn't be any, you know, accidents." Time to be honest. "I can help you stay any way I want, love." Reaching out with her mind she made him feel sadness, then let it burst into a euphoric glow that almost mimicked the aftermath of great sex, followed by fear, that quickly twisted into a joy so great it would erase the negative feelings she'd made him feel. Then she pulled back, and let go of his emotions--all of them. No longer making him feel eager to go East, or connected to her.
Time for honestly. A little trust. Worst case she just make him her bitch again. "I can do more then anger." She admitted, holding up her hands to make sure he knew she meant no harm. She was also reading his untouched emotions very carefully to make sure he wasn't about to get angry and blow her up. "You want science? I can control everyone's emotions because I can control the chemicals that make you feel things. Endorphins. Adrenaline. There's like a million others, and I don't know their names. But I can feel everything you're feelin' and I can make ya feel anything I want. I can't however, make you do anything. I control feelings, your actions are yer own."
