KARMA: EXALT | SMITE Karma is just a small point reward system on the site that all members are welcome to participate in!
Basically, if you want to reward a member (i.e they did something nice for you, you liked their post(s), their character, etc) then you can click 'Exalt' and that increases their Karma by 1.
On the flip side, when you click the 'Smite' button, it takes away a Karma point of theirs. Smiting a member is not usually common as it can be extremely discouraging for a member to see their Karma points declining.
When you use the Karma system, you must wait 15 minutes before using it again on either the same member, or a different member.

AU THREAD RULES
AU stands for Alternate Universe. That is, threads that step outside the canon world of the movies. They can be What If scenarios about things that did not happen in the movies or that completely step outside of the canon verse. Some examples of AU Threads:
[the following statements contain spoilers from the movies]
- Deceased Characters: Threads in this board can involve characters that died in the movies, with the 'What If they didn't die' question. For example: What if Darwin didn't die in X-Men First Class.
- Mixing Timelines: Threads in this board can involve the mixing of timelines and characters. For example, what if Emma Frost met Rogue? What if Banshee went to Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters? What if Young Magneto met Storm? Etc.
These are just some of the many examples of what can take place in the AU board. However, all site rules still apply to this board. We ask that you still remain as close to your canon character as you can, despite the AU situation. And be sure to check with members playing characters you hope to involve in your AU plots.
This board can also be used for plots based on future events however it still must be compatible with the movies.
We ask that you please consult with us about any AU plots to ensure that everything remains well mediated and controlled. Either send us a PM, or post a short synopsis of your plot in the first post, just the general plot, we don't need all the specific details.
AU threads are only to be posted in the "AU Threads Board".

LIST OF POWERS Below is a list of powers from the X-men verse. If there is a power you would like your character to have that is not listed below, you must PM the admin and we will discuss it further. If you play a canon from the movies who possess a rare power or one that is crossed off the list, or one that is not on the list, then you do not need to seek admin permission prior to posting your character application. The power is crossed off to protect that canon's originality in their abilities.
We have crossed off the powers which a member, or a couple of characters on the site or show, already have. This is to create a range of diverse powers. If there is a power you would like your character to have that is crossed off the list, feel free to PM us and we will work something out.
If there is a power you would like to have for your mutant but do not see it on the list, please feel free to send us a PM and we can discuss it!

- Red: Require admin approval; must PM admin prior to creating bio
Strikeout: We are currently not accepting any more characters with this power [rare powers that canons posses] that are not from the movies.
Powers - Adoptive Muscle Memory: The power to replicate movements after observation.
Animal Telepathy: Has the ability to telepathically communicate with animals and control thus, potentially them.- Animality: Has some characteristics of an animal. I.e. Viktor/Sabretooth Note: Mutant can not physically change into animal.
Absorption: Ability to absorb and copy other mutant's powers as well as absorb memories and personalities. Adamantium Claws: Mutants who have retractable claws made from this special metal alloy.- Astral Projection The ability to temporarily remove your soul from your body and travel outside of it aka "ghost mode".
- Chaetokinesis: The ability to manipulate hair (i.e. texture, length, strength, growth, etc).
- Electrokinesis: The ability to use electricity mentally and mannipulate it (i.e. charge ball of plasma)
Empathy: The ability to sense and/or manipulate the emotions of other people.Flight: The ability to lift off the ground, to ride air currents, or to fly self propelled through the air. [The mutant with this ability often has wings]- Fluidity: Ability to temporarily change body into a fluid.
- Geokinesis: The ability to manipulate one element of the earth (i.e. sand, stone, rock, lava, dirt, glass, and other minerals).
- Hydrokinesis: The ability to manipulate and control water. [The mutant with this ability can also often breathe underwater].
Ice Creation: The ability to create and manipulate ice.- Illusionist: The ability to create mental illusions on a person.
- Invisibility: The ability to turn invisible.
- Light Manipulation: The ability to manipulate light and flashes.
Magnetokinesis: The ability to control and/or generate electromagnetic fields, giving the user control over any metal. - Malleability: Mutants who's body is malleable and elastic.
Mediokinesis [Accelerated Healing]: The ability to heal almost instantly. - Meta-Plague Manipulation: The ability to ingest and synthesize new plagues without causing harm to oneself and thus, casting various illnesses onto another person,
- Micromorph: The ability to shrink down to a height of four inches.
- Night Vision: Ability to see in the dark and pitch black.
- Phasing: The ability to phase through solid matter without harm.
- Plant Control: Ability to manipulate and control plants.
- Power Cancellation: The ability to temporarily neutralize a mutant's powers so that they are unable to use them.
- Precognition: The ability to see the future.
- Probability Altering: The ability to alter probability fields to create good luck.
- Psiokinesis: The ability to control one's energy.
Pyrokinesis: The ability to manipulate fire. - Sandstorm: Ability to turn into a living sandstorm.
- Sensory: Enhanced senses and ability to sense other mutants.
Shapeshifting: The ability to change appearance and/or body structure. - Shadow Generation: Ability to create and manipulate/control shadows.
- Sonokinesis: The ability to control sound waves either from your own vocal chords or the sound around you. Can also create super sonic screams.
- Spike: Ability to extend spikes from body.
Super Speed: Ability to move at an extremely heightened speed. - Superhuman Strength: The mutant possesses enhanced strength and can strike with superhuman force as well as life massive objects and throw them with ease.
- Technopath: The ability to control technology.
- Telekinesis: The ability to manipulate and control objects with your mind (without physically touching them).

GENERAL RESPECT | 1 | Be kind, courteous, and respectful to other members on the site. If you have a difference of opinion, or if someone does something that upsets you, contact us rather than handling it yourself. Do not harass, attack, or offend any other members.

POSITIVE | 2 | We are a positive, inclusive, bash free board. Please do not fill the site with angry comments, rants, or any sort of negativity. This is to ensure the board remains a positive, safe and fun place for everyone!

NO PLAGIARISM | 3 | We have a zero tolerance policy for plagiarism if any kind. This includes copying and paste your bio information directly from another site, taking other people's graphics without credit, and so on.

CANON BASED | 4 | We ask that you remember that this is based on a Canon plot and with that in mind, remain as consistent with it as possible. You can find out more in the "X-Men Database" board.

GETTING STARTED BIO TEMPLATE | 1 | We have a standard template that must be completely filled out if you are applying for a character. Please do not change anything and follow the specific requirements in each field. If you are stuck on a section, don't hesitate to send us a PM and we will help you the best we can.

CHARACTERS | 2 | We will be accepting both canon characters as well as made up characters. Please ensure you conform them to properly fit into the plot of this role play. Any characters that were in the comic books, but not in the movies are considered Made Up Characters.
|
COMIC CHARACTERS | 3 | You are permitted to make characters from the comic books that were not in the movies. However, please just ensure that they fit into and are consistent with the move verse realm as well as follow our guidelines on the site (i.e. canon permission for familial relationships, power limitations, etc).
|
CROSSOVERS
| 4 | Because this is primarily an X-Men role play, we ask that there are no crossovers. For example: bringing in other Marvel characters (i.e. Steve Rogers, Ironman, etc) in this role play. You can use these face claims for different characters however please be consistent with the movies.
|
SKILL LIMITATION | 5 | Please do not have your character excel at everything. Add limitations to him or her to keep a fair balance on the site. With that mind, we do require a 2 power limitation as well as a weakness to go along with it. Please also keep in mind that the strongest mutants are those displayed in the movies (i.e. Charles, Magneto, Jean, Wolverine).

MIRROR PLOTS | 6 | Please do not mirror canon plots with other canons and OCs. For instance: having your character open a mutant school. Canon plots are unique and we do not want to take away from that originality or what makes them special. Please think of unique storylines and characters so that they do not mirror that of the characters from the movies or the events that took place!
|
ADMIN APPROVAL | 7 | You must wait for your bio to be approved before you can post in the role play, as well as the the plots and plans board, and the graphic requests section. You will receive a PM once your bio has been approved.
|
WIP BIOS | 8 | You are permitted to post WIP (Work In Progress) bios. However, if it is not complete after 7 days of being posted, then the bio will be taken down If it was for a canon character, then we may ask that you wait for a certain amount of time before reapplying.

ROLE PLAY THIRD PERSON | 1 | All posts must be written in third person (he, she, they), not first person (I, me, my).
|
POST LENGTH | 2 | We ask that each post be a minimum of two paragraphs long. Please make sure to give enough to reply to so that the person you are role playing with does not feel inconvenienced. |
POSTING MINIMUM | 3 | We ask for a minimum of 2 posts per week! This is to keep plots moving and maintain some activity. We of course understand that Real Life can get in the way so please feel free to contact us if you have any concerns about this! |
CHARACTER LIMIT | 4 | While we do not have a limit as to how many characters you can play we ask that you take only as many as you can handle. |
STANDARD | 5 | Members are required to stay as close to their canon characters as possible. Once your bio is approved you are not permitted to edit anything major in it without the admin's approval. |
NO GOD MODDING | 6 | Do not control any other character apart from your own (i.e. making them say or do something in your post that they did not do in their own). Also, be respectful of the way they portray that character; do not pressure them to engage in plots that go against their preference of how they see their character act or think. |
AU PLOTS | 7 | We do have an AU (alternate universe) board. This is for threads that step outside the canon verse of the plot. This involves romantic relationships that are not canon, or 'What If' scenarios that could have changed the course of the plot (i.e what if a character didn't die). Further more, events that took place in the old X-Men trilogy are also considered AUs as the timeline was altered due to Days of Future Past. |
AWAY NOTICE | 8 | If you are going to be away, you must post a notice. Furthermore, when posting an away notice then you must have a return date in that notice. If you are going to be absent for more than two weeks, please speak to a staff members. |
INACTIVE ACCOUNTS | 9 | If your account has not been signed into for over two weeks without an absence notice, then the character will be opened/archived. |
HAVE FUN! | 10 | Role Playing is a fun activity where we can delve into the minds of our favorite characters! The site is meant to be a place where we can all write and enjoy other member's writing as well! |
GRAPHICS USERNAME | 1 | The name of your username should be the name of your character (either their mutant name, or their actual name). Please do not register with a username of a character that you do not intend to play (i.e. registering with Wolverine if you do not intend to write as him). This is to avoid confusion. Once you are approved, you will have the opportunity to select a unique posting color that your username will be changed to.
|
FACE CLAIM | 2 | Everyone must have a face claim for their character, represented by a real life celebrity. This means no anime or animated/comic images permitted. If your character has 2 face claims in the movies (i.e. a younger version and an older version) then you can list both face claims.
|
ICON | 3 | Your icon should be an image of the character you are playing. The maximum size permitted is 150 pixels x 150 pixels. This will also be the image that appears on the forum when you are online.
|
AVATAR | 4 | Your avatar is an image that should also be a picture or a gif of your character. The dimensions for this are 250 x 400 pixels.
|
SIGNATURE | 5 | Your signature/banner should be an image of the character you are playing. The maximum size permitted is a width of 600 pixels and a height of 300 pixels. This is to ensure that the board does not get stretched by an image that is too large.
|
CUSTOM TITLE | 6 | Your custom title can only be changed by the admin and it will be the name of your character's alias/nickname (i.e. Rogue, Magneto, etc). If your character is a Homo Sapien, then you can select what you would like your custom title text to say.
|
POSTING LAYOUTS | 7 | Some members have chosen to have posting layouts for their role play posts. This is not by any means mandatory for members to have! If you would like one, and need help customizing it, feel free to reach and we can help as best we can.

CREDITING GRAPHICS | 8 | If someone else has made your signature and/or avatar, you must add a line of credit stating the person who made it.
|
CHAT BOX CHAT CONTENT | 1 | The chat box is a great place to meet other members and even plan threads. With that said, please do not rant, complain, bash, or post negative messages of any kind. As well, do not pressure members to post, or pressure the admins to approve your bio. We also ask that you not post extremely personal information about you, as your private life is just that: private. Please keep in mind that this a public place to talk and thus, require that everyone feel comfortable with the conversation taking place in it.

DISCRETION | 2 | Any conversation between a member and the admin is private. Do not post it or talk about it in the CB. If there is something we need to discuss with you privately, we will do so via PM. We require that you not talk about these issues in a public place for all members to see.

ADVERTISING | 3 | Absolutely no advertising in the Chat Box! There is a board for you all to post links to other sites. Please do not post links to other forums or discuss other role play forums in detail.

IN CHARACTER CHAT | 4 | The IC [In Character] Chat Box is located at the bottom of the forum. This is a place to muse as your character and does not necessarily follow any specific plot. It is a great place for all sorts of in character shenanigans and fun.
