Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION It had been a few months now since they'd moved to Genosha, but today marked a very special day. And, one that was not the easiest to bare. This nation of mutants was growing well. More and more people were coming, and the island was developing into a functioning town. With crops being harvested, people building homes, and of course, the Brotherhood of mutants training to protect the citizens of Genosha. But today, marked a day well before that.
Today, was the one year anniversary of Anya's death. The loss of their unborn child still effected them, even if they found ways to distract their minds. Even though they still had their beautiful Nina. The loss of a child was never easy to endure. Erik knew that all too well when he believed both his daughter and wife -- as well as their unborn baby -- were all dead. Tonight, there also just so happened to be a party of sorts, where everyone decided to get together and celebrate the first full harvest. Food was offered, goods and . . . drink. A lot of drink. Which was how he supposed Magda had gotten to this state.
It was not as if the anniversary of Anya's death was well known fact, and being the ones who governed this nation, their presence was required. But as he watched Magda, he saw how increasingly difficult the night was getting. Especially when it was announced that one of their residents was expecting a baby. A baby that would be -- so far -- the first mutant born on Genosha. The painful realization that it would have been Anya. Perhaps that was what had tipped Magda over to no longer being able to cope . . . or the fact that she was simply not used to drinking and had merely a few, but enough for Magneto to quickly see the effects.
He made his way over to her, searching the crowd for Nina. She was playing with her friend -- a non animal friend -- and the parents assured him that they would look after her. Glancing around for Selene, she gave him a nod in understanding. Fortunately when it came to telepaths, no words were needed. And he trusted Selene to looked after their daughter. Right now, he needed to look after his wife. Telling a couple of people that she was unwell, he kept an arm around Magda and led her back to their home, helping her to keep her footing and stay grounded with each step forward towards their home. "We're almost there," he assured her in a low voice, using his powers to wave open the door and intended to do the same thing once they were through, to close it.

'Cause with the all that has happened
Magda was drunk. Not a little drunk, but very, very drunk. She'd enjoyed over drinking very rarely in her life, but they'd always been on occasions of joy. never one so hurtful. Never on the memory of her lost daughter. It didn't help that on the night she was remembering her daughter, that others were celebrating theirs. No one remembered her daughter. No one but her and Erik.
Erik helped her up, and she stumbled slightly, forced to cling on to him while they walked. Magda felt the ground move under her feet, or maybe her feet didn't know how to find the ground anymore. Looking up at Erik she smiled for the first time tonight. "I see two of you." She whispered to him. "My night just got better." At the moment her mind couldn't seem to realize that there was no two Eriks, but one. That she could no longer focus and see straight.
I think that we both know the way that the story ends
