The lost and forgotten, they look to you still. The world was a dark place, and it seemed only to get darker. The horrors of her childhood had come back to her adulthood in an new and frightening way. Now it was all humans who were hunted and hurt. Apocalypse, a mutant who they said was from ancient Egypt, had taken over the world using powerful mutants to force everyone to bend to his will. It had been years since then, and Magda had become a silent part of the human resistance. She had once helped mutants hide from humans; and now she was helping humans hide from mutants.
Magda used her little tea shop as the front for a place the hunted could hide. By keeping her head low she had yet to be caught or forced to work else where. She knew how to keep her self unnoticed. Her people had done it for the years building up to the camps. Now she was using all the old tricks and patterns her parents had before they were executed. She felt an angry hate toward the mutants that were doing this. Sometimes, she had to help the good mutants hide from the overlords as well. They kept her secret, and in return helped her get some supplies to help the humans disappear if needed.
Cleaning up the shop, she wiped down the tables. Folded up the table clothes, and put them in the closet so they could be switched out for different patterns tomorrow. It was then that she noticed the ones gathering outside. Her heart beat a little faster, but she continued to clean, pretending that this was normal. One used their powers to break open the door! Magda let out a scream and backed up! "What are you doing?!" She asked, her voice filled with fear and panic! The mutants swarmed in and grabbed her arms. Magda pulled at them but they were stronger! "PLEASE!" She begged as they dragged her out into the street! All the other windows were dark--she knew they would be. No one would draw attention to themselves by watching. They would pretend nothing was happening outside. She pulled harder and went to the ground, and they were trying to drag her up. She was not about to go willingly. She'd fight until the death before she gave up like she had as a child!
God help the outcasts, or nobody will.

Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION It was confirmed. They had gotten word of a woman hiding others in what appeared to be a tea shop. It functioned as such, but apparently, she was offering sanctuary to others. To fugitives, apparently. Magneto told the others going on the raid that he would join them once it was for certain, as he did not wish to waste his time on trivialities. But it did require his attention, and so he made his way on the darkened streets, others hurriedly clearing his path.
As one of the horsemen, most people grew afraid, even if they were innocent of any crime. The woman was pulled onto the street, and he he could hear her pleading. The voice, striking a chord of familiarity. It wasn't until he stood in front of her, though some distance between them, with her on her knees upon the ground . . . that he recognized it. He paused for only a second, though it felt like far longer than that. He knew her. He knew her too well. They did not need the mutants they had to detect other mutants and differentiate which ones were humans and which were not. No. She was most certainly human.
Magneto knew he was not the same man he had been before. Or, perhaps he was. Perhaps this was who he always meant to be. A societal construct of humanity's hatred of those that were different. It started at the camps, and transformed him into something far darker. All but for a brief period in his life. But, that felt like an eternity ago. Just as was his relationship with the woman before him. He looked at her, gaze void of emotion. Remaining the same stoic presence he often held, more so in this time when it was required. "Magda Eisenhardt." His knowledge of her name could be explained by having looked into who she was before raiding the shop . . . but really, his knowledge of her extended far deeper. And, here she was caught harbouring people she should not be.

The lost and forgotten, they look to you still. Her knees hit the ground and she saw the shoes of the man she was put down before. She hesitated there, looking down while her fear and anger shook inside her body. Tilting her face up she looked up to see---Erik. For a moment, she was frozen in surprise. For a moment she thought she was safe, and that once again everything would be alright. The moment was fleeting and short--lasting only a second perhaps. During that second however, it was enough that the following second was filled with a disappointment she'd not felt in years.
Blinking she felt the renewed tears in her eyes. He said her name, but he was what she'd always feared he'd come. The driven man who sought only one goal at any cost to him. Then it was his hunt for a sole man; and now it was this. This persecution of another race because he thought another one was better. Magda knew what he was now. Everyone knew. The four horsemen were known throughout the world. Their rule was unquestioned, and fear through the land.
And now, she was kneeling at his feet, like she had been forced to do in the camps. Even though he said her name, Magda said nothing. The shock of being here, like this with-out of all people-him. Her breaking was heavy but slowly, while her hair fell haphazardly around her face and over her shoulders. Erik. The most powerful horseman. Her old lover. What did one even say? Seconds passed by after he said her name, and she keeled there only staring up at him.
God help the outcasts, or nobody will.

Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION She didn't say anything. Yet, what was there to say? She had been harbouring fugitives or those who were hiding for whatever reason, and with this very public display of it . . . it was impossible to ignore. Deep down, he hated this. To have to see Magda and do this. But the world was a different place. There was no light in this darkness. No sanctuary in this prison. The world had succumbed to those most powerful, and the aftermath was the new reality.
"Take her," Magneto demanded. "Search the shop. Take away anyone found there." With those orders he turned and walked away, not waiting to watch them take Magda and lock her up for her crimes. He was meant to deal with it, and truth be told . . . he didn't know how he was going to deal with the current situation. It would be the next day when he would go to see her. They had taken her to one of the holding facilities. A prison almost. Each cell designed to contain those who were guilty of something. All made of metal -- which was no coincidence.
Magneto knew he would have to have a conversation with her, and so made his way down the hall, waving his hand to the door of the small room as he nodded for the guard to leave. As he stepped inside, the door shut behind him. "You should not have done it," he told her. Meaning, she should not have been hiding fugitives. She could have gone on with her tea shop, and instead, she wound up here. Imprisoned. Most likely facing execution for her crimes.

The lost and forgotten, they look to you still. She didn't know what she expected from this moment, but his words so cold and detached weren't even int he relem of what she'd assumed. "Take her," Magda felt as if the ground shifted even though she was still kneeling. "Search the shop. Take away anyone found there." NO! Magda jumped up, even as Erik walked away and tried to fight their hold! "Stop!" She screamed, "Don't hurt them!" She fought and kicked and yelled--but to no good end.
She was taken to a cell, and left there. It was all mental, and while cleaner then the last one she had been in as a child--it felt little different. She refused to speak to anyone, or even sit on anything but the floor. No natural light shone in, but she knew what would come. They'd take her life and make her an example of what standing up to them did. The door opened, and her eyes turned to watch him walk in. Closing them, she looked away for a moment as tears of regret stung them but didn't fall. For a moment she thought of a happy memory of Erik smiling down at her in bed, as her fingers brushed his cheek. It was so many years ago. It was so different from this world.
"You should not have done it," Opening them she looked up at him, not standing to greet him. "When they came for you mother, did you not wish someone would hide her?" Magda asked him, not bothering with a hello, or even asking him what he was thinking. He would know she thought him like the men who had taken her mother and his mother in the camps. And from what everything she'd seen--he was.
God help the outcasts, or nobody will.

Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION Magda had been one of the few -- if not only -- person he had physically told of what had happened to his mother. And even if he had not, she could have easily assumed his mother's fate, considering where the two of them had first met. But no. Magda knew it was a way to appeal to him; to remind him, to have him emphathize with those that were now persecuted. Perhaps the former version of himself would have. Perhaps Erik would have. But not the mutant he was now; not this darker version of himself. Of Magneto.
"And they too would have ended up dead." Just like my mother. The unspoken but implied words. But speaking of his mother, was not why he was here. The world was at war; and mutants were at the forefront. "But it was after all, humans who had taken her," he reminded. An inferior race, that had started his hatred against them. "Are you aware of what the punishment is for your actions?" Apocalypse was far from merciful in such cases.

The lost and forgotten, they look to you still. They would be dead too. Like his mother. Like she knew she would be eventually. Even Erik wouldn't cross the demon that was taking over the world. No. not Erik. Magneto. They took names and costumes like children on hollow's eve. She would have understood the need seek out their own identity in a world that outcasted them, but she felt they used them now to hide from their own humanity.
Humans took her. "She was human, Erik." Magda said, still refusing to look his way. "Humans killing humans. Humans killing mutants, mutants killing humans. Mutants killing mutants. It will never end." A tear feel over her cheek but she refused to wipe it away. Taking a deep breath, she continued with her voice soft and sad, but unwavering. "I spent my childhood in a place like this for being what I am. I always knew it could happen again if no one spoke up for the weak. I sore to myself that I would never stay silent and not speak out from it happening again."
Finally she looked at him, "Have you come to do it then? Have you come to do 'his' bidding?" Pushing to a stand and walked closer, with her chin in the air. Had it been anyone but him she would not have dared but he was breaking her heart and she wanted him to know it. She didn't hide her tears, or pain, but she didn't let her voice or eyes waver. "Shaw would have been proud of the man you are today. It was everything he wanted you to be." She knew that would hurt. She knew it would hurt him but maybe hearing it before she died would seep into the man he once was. Maybe having that thought in his head would fester and one day he would see who he had become--before it was too late. "Your mother would ashamed." If he hadn't planned to kill her before, her words might seal her fate. She knew him well enough to know they were aimed at his heart. She just didn't know if they would find it.
God help the outcasts, or nobody will.
