'Cause with the all that has happenedThe government couldn't find him, how was she supposed to? She'd found the hiding place for a group of mutants, and knew that some of Erik's followers came by sometimes to try to talk them into fighting. So Magda went often and brought them food. She asked only they tell 'Magneto' that she was asking to see him. It took weeks before they started accepting the food, and months more before she thought they were giving the message to the followers who came around. Persistence would be key, but she didn't want to wait years!
Finally one of them said to come on Friday. So on Friday she was there. She knew it could be a trap, but she came. She was here for Nina. Her daughter. Her daughter who was starting to show some powers thanks to her father. Nina's father being Magda's old lover--the man she still loved--the man she still wanted---and the man everyone wanted. For he was the world's most wanted man. And now, she was going to have to tell him that he was not only a father but that he'd missed 7 years of his daughter's life. Yes, she was scared. The Erik she knew was one of honor, and she had to believe he still was. That he would not take Nina from her.
'Wait here' she was told, and so she did. Magda didn't normally carry a bag but this time she did. It had things in it she might need. Photos. Memories. Nina was safe for now, with a trusted friend. Right now they were using Magda's name and not Erik's but Nina's legal last name was her fathers. Which was why she was here.

Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION There were secret mutant shelters developing for those who had no where else to go. Those who had been outcast, hunted, or just plain scared to be out in the open. Magneto tried to frequent them as much as he could, but considering his current position . . . it wasn't always easy. He had fellow members of the Brotherhood who recruited on his behalf where he could not be present, and for the most part, it worked. They usually came with at least a couple mutants who were sick and tired of living in fear. While Magneto had not recently engaged in any more grand spectacles, didn't mean he was just willing to forget the fight for mutant rights. He just knew that he had to pick his battles. And they had to be well thought and calculated.
Currently, he was on his way to one place of refuge in particular. One of his fellow Brotherhood mutants had told him of a woman who persistently asks for him. He spoke of how she brings food for the others, and there was an assumption that she was a mutant. What she could possibly want with Magneto, he was uncertain. For it was not the Brotherhood she wished to join, otherwise, she would have gone with those mutants who did the recruiting. No, this was something else. Magneto intended to find out when he went to one shelter to make an appearance and recruit. But first, he would meet with her. He could not linger long in one place, it would arouse suspicion. He also knew that this could be a trap . . . but he was unphased. He was not scared of the authorities, and he refused to get locked up again for another decade of his life.
He was clad in black clothes, with a hat and sunglasses. It helped conceal his appearance, especially at night time. Making his way through a side entrance into the shelter, one of the mutants led him to the room where he had told the woman to wait. They had no further information. No name. No reason. Just, that she had brought food and been asking for him. Magneto waved the door open as he stepped inside and when he did, he froze. Suddenly, it was all clear and not clear at all. "Leave us," he said, not looking away from the Magda as he spoke to the other mutant.
He could practically feel his hesitancy but did not question it as he left and Magneto slightly jerked his head so that the door shut behind the other mutant. He then proceeded to take off his glasses, still staring at the woman before him, wondering if he had even forgotten to breathe in this moment. It had been so long since he had seen her and . . . this felt bitter sweet. "What are you doing here?" He questioned. His voice was not angry or short, but held the composed, stoic tone that he had spend an entirety using. Perhaps more composed now that he held stronger confidence and ability in his mutant powers.

'Cause with the all that has happened
The opened and then . . . there he was! Erik! Like he'd walked out of the TV and before her. He'd always been strong, but now there was an authority and . . . . something else to him. He didn't look different, but he LOOKED different. In the way he stood, and held himself. In the way he wore his clothes and hair. Handsome as ever, but so different.
"Erik," she whispered his name, trying to believe that he was really here. Before her. Where did one begin when you had a world to explain? "Hello," she said, trying to give her mind a moment to catch up with what was happening. With all she had to say . . . the man she'd loved and lost 7 year ago.
What was she doing here. Yes he had asked that before she spoke but it was like her mind needed time to think on the answer, even though she'd spent years practicing the speech in her head. How'd she'd tell him and what she'd do. "I came to ask for your help. I didn't have anyone else I could turn too." She explained, walking slowly toward him.

Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION She called him Erik. While it was not surprising, it was a name he had not been called recently. Everyone knew that was his name, but he had become more known as Magneto. Yet, hearing her call him by his name given at birth was not . . . unwelcome. Because she knew him as Erik. She knew the true him, from when he was a child, to now. Further inquiry entered his mind when she began to say that she needed his help.
Normally, he would not so quickly appeal to a human, unsure of what their true motivations were. But Magda, was different. Perhaps the only exception to his perception of most humans, if not all. If she said she needed his help, he would be there for her. He noticed she drew nearer, eyes still locked onto her. "You took a great risking meeting me," he added on. If the authorities even caught wind that she knew him . . . he feared what they would do with that information to draw him out. "What is it you need my help with?" He asked in the same tone of voice but underlying, there was a genuine concern there, for her.

'Cause with the all that has happened
Magda knew that the risk of telling him was great, but right now Nina needed the protection that only Magneto could offer her. Erik could protect her in ways that Magda could not. Which meant she had to be honest with him, here in this place. It wasn't the ideal spot but this was the idle world. "Erik, I've looked for you for years." She needed him to believe that, and her voice came out in a bit of a plea. "Please believe me when I say I wasn't trying to hold this from you." She explained carefully, knowing what family meant to them both after loosing everything. She hope that hadn't changed.
"After I left . . . I found out I was pregnant." She dove deep, just saying the words in a soft voice to ease the shock she knew this would be. Stepping forward she grabbed his hand. "You have a daughter." Her fingers held tight, needing to touch him for both herself and himself. Would he hate her? She'd tried to find him, but maybe she should have tried harder? Maybe she never should have left? "Nina. Her name is Nina."
But it didn't end there. Nina had her father's family name, and was a mutant who's powers ran off her emotions. Which meant she was noticed. Noticed and the connection of her name grew attention. Magda had left, and began looking for a safe place. She'd almost taken Nina to the school she'd heard about. Yet she had tried this first.

Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION Years. So whatever she needed help with, she had needed that help for years. He was well aware that he was not one who was easy to find, and purposely kept it that way. She had never lied to him, yet he began to feel a strange sense of nervousness. For whatever she was saying, she was building up to it and . . . something in her tone was a bit unsettling. As if she was pleading for understanding. And then it began. Pregnant. Daughter. Nina. Magneto's mind spun as he tried to processing everything she was saying. He had a daughter. They had a daughter. Named Nina. Who would be . . . seven years old by now.
For that was when they had parted ways. The emotions were too great, and in his overwhelmed state, in his sudden state of worry and anger at the thought of something happening to her, he pulled his hand away from her, and turned his back. He was not the same Erik . . . he was Magneto. Yet, she always brought out the humanity in him. His gesture not a rejection of her touch, but the fear of crumbling before her when he was still in a place where he had to stay composed. Closing his eyes, taking a slow breath, he turned around, the concern of her earlier words stating that she needed his help. Something was wrong.
"Is she alright?" She wasn't with Magda, and he knew that could be for a slew of reasons. He took a few more steps towards her, the distance unnecessary but he knew his mind was racing. She may be a mutant. What if they found her? What if they used her as they did so many others for experimental purposes? "Magda, is she alright?" It was all he could think of, the random pieces of metal around them; tin cans, a garbage bin, whatever was around, starting to rattle from the anger that harm may have come to her. He may not have known she even existed two seconds ago but family, was incredibly important to him.

'Cause with the all that has happenedHe pulled away, and then he turned his back to her. Magda felt her heart break a little at the pain he must feel, and for her own. Erik had never turned from her and now he had. She wanted to reach for him but no longer felt he wanted such a comfort from her. After a moment he turned and walked toward her a new emotion in his tone--and the metal around her began to make sounds as it shook. Magda glanced at it before looking back at him.
She ever feared him, but she feared what he might do. "She is well." Magda said softly, knowing he could turn from her touch again but needing to ease this . . . this anger that was in him. Was he so upset with her? Did he hate her own. "Erik, she is safe for now." But would not remain so.
"Nina has your family name," Magda explained, "And she is a mutant. When the two things were connected there were men in suits who asked questions. We left." She reached her hand out to touch his arm. "She needs you now. To be kept safe she needs to be with you. . . . and to help her learn to control her powers like you do." Nina needed Erik, and she needed Magneto--one to love her and one to protect her future.

Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION She is well. She was safe. The words were enough to slowly cause the rattling to cease, and his emotions to get back into check. But, he did not miss the latter part of her statement: that Nina was safe . . . for now. He remained silent as Magda further explained. Nina had his last name. The thought would have honoured him, and perhaps it still did a little, but he was all too aware of the repercussions of that. That his name was one that caused red flags to be raised. Caused people to ask questions, and they apparently already had. His earlier thoughts had been proved correct. She was a mutant. And they had already found her.
Magneto worked to process everything, trying to take it all in. He was fully aware that the humans would use this to their advantage. And if they lay a single finger upon his daughter . . . he would kill them all. This time, with her touch, he did not pull away. He took it in, as it helped him remain calm in the wake of all this newly discovered information. The last 2 minutes with Magda, had changed his life. "I will not let any harm come to her," he promised. "Or you." Just because Magda was a human, didn't mean she was safe with them. They knew that Erik and her had been together, even if the extent of their relationship was unknown.
"It's not safe for either of you," he added on. His daughter was a mutant. Had these circumstances not been so grim -- the danger they were placed in -- Magneto would ask all he possibly could about her. But hopefully, there would be time for that. Though Magda had said that Nina needed to be with him . . . he was not even considering the possibility that Magda would not be with either of them. Though, belatedly, the hypocrisy was starting to seep in. And suddenly, the realization that the safest place for Nina, may not be the safest place for Magda.
"There is a place where The Brotherhood live. Still kept hidden from the authorities." A secret location. "You will both be safe there." Because he would make sure of it. "But we have to leave, now." He had already been here too long and now with his wife and daughter on the run . . . he wasn't about to take any more risks.

'Cause with the all that has happenedHe seemed to calm some, and the metal no longer shook. Magda glanced at it and then back at him, glad he no longer pulled from her, but she knew it could just be his need to ask about her daughter. She wanted how what was happening in his complex mind. He was once easy to read, but now she found it hard. It left her unsure about what he planned.
"No, we are not safe. It was why I came to you," she agreed, knowing that she cared little for her own safety if it meant her daughter was safe. She never even considered that the mutants would harm her here. Maybe it was foolish but Magda had yet to realize that there was hate brewing on both sides.
"I can get Nina and meet you anywhere." He couldn't be seen in public, but with now her face wasn't known. She could get Nina to him safely. Yet she felt the need to warn him ahead of him. "I should give you warning, I have always been honest with her. She knows you are her father, and she knows that you did not know she was alive. She does not know about everyhting that has happened." She would only know he was her father--not he was a wanted man. She wouldn't fully know everything about him. Magda had protect Nina from that.

Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION The thought of leaving her and letting her get Nina on her own was . . . unsettling. But he also knew it was probably safer than him going around in public. It would only further endanger Nina and Magda in a way that was unnecessary right now. But he couldn't ask her to meet here, for it may put the other mutants in danger as well. He listened to Magda explain that she had told Nina about him. The revelation . . . touched him. Honoured him. Just as Magda giving her his last name did. He wasn't sure how his daughter would see him. And had the circumstances not been so intense, he would have been dwelling on such concerns and uncertainty. He would have felt nervous meeting her.
But right now, he set aside such things and thought only rationally. Thought only of getting them to a safe place. "There is a park nearby," he told her. Walking distance from here, as he assumed it was not far for Magda since she had come here on her own. "Meet me there." There would be no recruiting tonight. He would have to send back the other mutants to return to the headquarters. His priority were Nina and Magda. He paused for a moment, knowing that this had to be said. "Thank you. For telling me. And for, telling her of me." Of explaining that he had not abandoned her. Of even mentioning his name, when he would have understood if she didn't. She had never been afraid of him, but even now, the fact that she wasn't . . . still meant a great deal to him.

'Cause with the all that has happened
"There is a park nearby," Magda wondered why the park, and if it was a safe place for him. "Meet me there." Her brows bent. She didn't like the plan where it was so open but she trusted him. Why else would she had come to him. Erik, or Magneto, was known for his ability to stay away from the law. She needed that now. For Nina. Everything she did, was for Nina now. It was never easy to admit that you couldn't protect your child on your own. Yet she couldn't. Magda knew little of fighting back, and hiding from governments.
He paused and looked at her, and Magda hesitated before walking out. "Thank you. For telling me. And for, telling her of me." She took the risk and reached for his hand, giving it a squeeze before walking past him to the door. Once at the door she paused there and looked back. She almost asked him then, so many things. Her lips even parted, but then closed slowly. "I'll be there in 20 minutes." She promised, before walking out.
Magda hurried to Nina, and picked up their bags. She thanked the friend who watched Nina, and then quickly took her daughter toward the park. "Nina," Magda said, and then explained to her daughter that they were going away for a while. That a lot might happen but Magda would be with her every step of the way. Stopping by the entrance of the park, Magda bent down to her knees and took a moment to tell her daughter that she had found her father. They would be staying with him for a while. While she was talking to Nina, Magda saw the darken windows of the black vans driving by. They were close. "We need to hurry," she whispered, pulling Nina behind her.

Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION In those 20 minutes, Magneto made the necessary arrangements. He informed his fellow Brotherhood mutants who had come with him of the plan, and when everything was set in motion, he went to the park to wait. He remained unseen in the shadows, standing by the entrance so he could see who was entering. His eyes keen of his surroundings until he saw Magda and a small child. He froze for a moment, his mind so consumed with getting them to safety, that he had not even though about the first moments in which he would meet his daughter. He only snapped back into the reality of the moment when he saw in the not so far distance, two black vans. They screeched to a halt, and that was when Magneto knew the risk of what was going to happen next.
The authorities may not take any more chances when it came to Magda. They could have been following her this entire time, though he knew that the second she asked for his help and went with him, she too may become a fugitive. Magneto stepped out into the clearing, holding out his hand in front of him which caused the vans to immediately stop. Even in the height of his anger at what these people could have done to Magda and Nina, he also knew that he did not wish for his daughter to see him kill as her first impression of him. He closed his eyes, feeling more than seeing the metal that filled the vans. The stupidity of homo sapiens. They may have rubber bullets, but they could not escape the makings of a car as it required metal. Magneto jerked his hand into a clenched fist, pulling out the wires in each car that created the connections through the radio so that they could not call anyone else.
Slightly flicking his hand, he tightened the strap of the belts, forcing those inside to stay in place, squeezing it tight enough to cause discomfort. Once both vehicles were secure, Erik's other hand extended, behind him as he turned his head. Slowly, a helicopter began to descend. The other Brotherhood members were in the pilot's seat but to remain inconspicuous, Erik controlled it so that the propellers would remain still and not bring unwanted attention from the noise. He gently landed it, then turning to Magda and . . . Nina. He wanted to look at her, really look at her, but there was no time. "Let's go," he instructed, motioning for them to go inside first so that the made sure that the situation was secure before he would join them.

'Cause with the all that has happenedMagda pulled Nina too her, as they moved quickly in to the park. There was a commotion happening behind her but Magda had one focus--Erik. He would protect their daughter, even if she had to stay and slow the police down. She would do it in order to protect Nina. Nina was her reason for living right now, and she would die to protect her.
As they got to Erik, Magda looked up at a helicopter--but subtle, but maybe that is what worked. Her hiding hadn't worked. Nina hugged tightly to her mother, and then Magda noticed the birds. Everywhere they were coming from, all kinds and all sizes as she begin filling the park. "Nina!" Magda said, "Nina we can't!" She knew Nina had no control over it, but she knew that she had to try to make her. Looking up at Erik she begged him with her face. They needed to leave now!
Nina was tall for a seven year old, but Magda lifted her up and put her in the helicopter. Turning to look at Erik she waited for him, not planning to leave if that wasn't his plan. She stared at him and reached her hand out. Magneto did things differently then Erik, she thought, but she wasn't sure who he was more of now. The man the TV hated or the man she loved. Who was he more of?

Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION As Magneto secured the park, the birds began to fill the area. He looked around, aware of how unnatural this was . . . and that was when he heard Magda's voice. He glanced at the two of them, suddenly realizing that this was part of her power. The details, he was uncertain of. But he could take a couple of guesses as to what her abilities entailed. Once she was in the helicopter. he noticed Magda reach her hand out to him. Waiting for him. The simple gesture held so much meaning, and he could not resist taking her hand.
Helping her into the helicopter first, he stepped in after wards, his foot still on the outer panel so that he could see the ground and ensure there were no more vehicles. "Hang on tight," he instructed both of them. He held his hand out before quickly lifting it in an upward motion, causing the helicopter to soar up before pushing forward. They needed the headstart without the noise of the propellers. When he was satisfied with the distance, he eased the machine, allowing the mutants in the pilot seat to take over so that he could bring his attention to Magda and . . . their daughter. "Are you both alright?" He questioned, talking to them both but his eyes locked on Nina. She was, so beautiful. A daughter he never knew of. And a daughter he now had.

'Cause with the all that has happenedIt had been a long time since anyone had helped Magda do anything, and feeling Erik's hands on her as he helped her inside . . . .
She felt them rise up without the blades turning, and then move forward. She knew that he was stronger then he had used to be, but seeing it and knowing felt different. He had a smooth control, and before--when they'd met--he had just been learning.
Magda hugged Nina to her as she sat int he back and held on. Nina's face buried into her mother's side. Once the blades were on, Erik looked back at them and asked if they were ok. Magda nodded, "Yes," she admitted, "Thank you!" She knew he'd had done without the thank you, but she wasn't the type to not say it. "They'd been getting closer for weeks." Today had been the closest, but today Erik had been there. It wasn't lost on Magda that he's gotten them away without violence. She was grateful for that.
Magda knew that Erik and Nina needed to meet formally, but she was giving Nina a moment to calm down. To have her first words with her father peaceful ones. Looking down at Nina, Magda pulled her to face herself, "You're safe, Chav, You're safe." The words were Polish, and Nina nodded, hugging her mother. Magda held her tightly as she looked at Erik. After a long hug, Magda pulled Nina back and spoke in English though a bit slower so she could keep up. "Nina, there is someone I want you to meet." They both turned to look at Erik.

Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION Erik loathed those who dared come after Magda and a child. It proved that they would stop at nothing. They could attack yet if reciprocated, mutants were deemed as criminals. The double standard sickening but . . . he knew now was not the time to get into the politics of the situation. They had a safe haven for a reason. "They won't again," he assured her, confidently.
He wouldn't let them come near either of them at all. He would be prepared, and they would regret the day they tried to get to Magda or Nina again. But now that the threat was temporarily gone, Erik wanted to focus on the moment. The incredible moment where he would meet his daughter. Though, he didn't even know how to react around her. He just watched her, a soft smile forming on his lips as he leaned forward a little without his presence too intrusive. "Hello, Nina," he greeted in Polish, extending his hand out to her. Looking at Magda, the light expression remained. "She's beautiful." Just like her mother.

'Cause with the all that has happenedErik held his hand out to Nina, and Magda's heart swelled up. Nina looked at her Mama and then back at Erik. She reached her little fingers out to touch his fingers and shake them, It wasn't a hand shake so much as her holding his hand a little. Nina didn't let go right away, just held on to his fingers with her own.
"She is," Magda agreed, watching father and daughter touch for the first time. She knew that it had to be hard for them both--Erik having just found out he had a child that he'd missed so many years with, and Nina meeting the father she'd only heard about for her whole life. "Nina, love, do you know who this is?" Magda asked, whispering over the sounds of the helicopter. Nina nodded, still holding his hand but not speaking.
Magda spoke to her daughter in Polish, wanting Erik to know that he could speak in their native language to his daughter as well. "He is going to keep us safe now." Magda told her. Nina looked up at her, "No more running?" She asked. Magda shook her head, "No more running. You're safe now. You're going to be safe now." A promise. Nina looked back at Erik, still holding his hand. Her grip tighten on his, but she didn't talk right away. Magda knew she was overwhelmed but was glad that Nina was willing to hold his hand.
