Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION Not all trips were once that Magneto could clearly communicate to Magada. The risk of communication often far too great. He was a wanted man, after all. And the last thing he wanted was for her to be put in a position where he could not protect her. Which, had been part of his thinking in taking their relationship to another step. The desire for her to know how much he loved her. How much he valued her.
He did not fail to recognize the irony -- as did many others -- for she was human. Yet, as Erik had so often thought before, she held a power that was far greater than any other mutant he knew. So tonight, he would ask her. Having just arrived at her tea shop, it was late, and he was well aware that she was most likely asleep. With a wave of his hand, he unlocked the door, further using his abilities to cease the chimes from going off and locking it behind him. He did not want to wake her -- yet.
He then proceeded to prepare a tray of tea and a small plate of a couple of desserts he had brought along for tonight. Hardly touching any of the items involved in the display, for it was quieter to use his powers where he could. The tray held a teacup with a bag inside, a small bowl of sugar cubes, and a little server of milk. It was also decorated with flower petals -- something else that he had picked up -- and a small bouquet in the middle contained by a vase. And inside the vase, was a small velvet box.
Not one that was immediately noticeable, perhaps not at all until the flowers were removed from it. But then, Magda was highly perceptive. There was a good chance she would indeed notice if looking closely. He had crafted a ring for her, having made it himself which, was obviously through his mutant abilities. He knew her. She was not one who valued money and riches. Nor was he. They had both come from humble beginnings and learned the value of love above all else.
Once everything was prepared, Magneto waved his hand to unlock the next door that concealed a flight of stairs, ascending to her living quarters. The tray floated behind him, as he nonchalantly walked through her home, ensuring to remain quiet which, was something he only fully realized the success of when he entered her room as she was still fast asleep. He gently set the tray on the beside table and sat on the edge of the bed, the side that she was on. The dip had not awoken her, though he was unsure if it began to lull her out of sleep.
If that hadn't his next actions certainly would. Of all the things he should feel guilty for in his life, in this moment, the most prominent one was waking her from a restful sleep. With one of his hands resting on one side of her, he moved his other hand to the other side, to brace himself up as he leaned down and over to her ear, so that he would not place any weight on top of her body. Once his lips were close enough, he whispered. "I'm here, my love."

'Cause with the all that has happenedMagda felt the bed dip, but it didn't fully awake her. What did was a soft rumble of a voice whispering things to her. "I'm here, my love." She smiled softly, blinking awake while her hands moved to touch him. What a wonderful surprise! "Erik!" She whispered, still waking up. He felt warm and welcome. She wanted him to come to bed with her, so they could stay here all night. Before she could ask it if him, Magda noticed the scent of tea and flowers. Turning to follow her noise she smiled. "Erik, they are beautiful!"
Pushing to sit up, Magda pulled her legs over his, so she half sat on his lap. "You spoil me," she teased, moving to kiss him in a lingering and slow kiss. Magda wasn't a woman who expected grand gestures or the finest of everything. She liked Earthly things, and actions of meaning. His thoughtfulness to bring her tea and flowers meant more to her then any gem he could bring her. To her, actions always spoke of love more then money ever could. "I love you."
She wanted to look at the flowers and find a pretty place for them, but in a moment. Right now she wanted to just welcome him. It didn't bother her that he let himself in. To Magda, this is where she wanted him, so why did it matter how he got here. However, she loved the change to tease him. "I clearly will need to get wooden chimes." Smiling at her jest, as they both knew she never would. Besides--it would stop him anyway.

Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION Erik smiled at her reaction, always glad to be able to make her smile. He knew how much she gave up for him; the risk being with him put her under. And yet, he was going to ask her to take it to a whole other stage. This entire arrangement was not something he took for granted, nor lacked appreciation of when it came to all Magda was willing to do for them. For their relationship.
"Not nearly enough," he commented in regards to him spoiling her. While she somewhat sat on his lap, he moved her so that she was properly in it, breathing into the slow kiss that followed. His arms wrapped around her as she spoke the words he could never hear enough. "And I love you." Never had he thought he was capable of love: to love and be loved. To feel the joy and feelings of completion that went along with it. He smiled with amusement at her tease of getting wooden chimes.
"Where's the fun in that?" He asked her with a tease in return. "I wouldn't be able to surprise you in quite the same way," he added on, leaning towards her for another kiss, this one lighter. How comfortable things were between them. The thought of her becoming his wife made his heart swell and despite his calm composure, he could not help but feel nervous about her answer. "I don't make it quite as good as you do," he added once their lips parted, referring to the tea. "But I'm learning. I have a good teacher." Her, of course.

'Cause with the all that has happenedWho needed tea when one had kisses? "I wouldn't be able to surprise you in quite the same way," And his were very good. "True, and I am enjoying this so much. Your logic wins again," She teased, as he began talking about the tea. "I don't make it quite as good as you do, but I'm learning. I have a good teacher." She laughed at his words, knowing who he meant.
Moving, she left his lap in order to reach for the tea. If he made it, then she would pour it. As she reach for the cups and noticed something in the vase. "Erik, there is something in here." She said, as if he might not know. Lifting the flowers out and smelled the before sitting them carefully on the side and lifting the vase to pull the box out.
It took her moment to realize it was 'a box' and not just a box. Sitting the vase down slowly she turned back to him. Magda knew who he was, and who she was. She had been grateful to be apart of his life for as long as he'd let her. Yet, because she was human and he was leading the fight to protect his people she knew that it sometimes put him in difficult places. Now as she held this little box she began to hope for more. Not just love--for she knew she held his heart--but more. Looking down from his face she looked at the box and slowly opened it as her heart swelled and beat harder! There was a ring! Looking back up at him she knew there was surprise on her face, and so many more emotions--and none of them were bad.

Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION Erik remained silent the entire time, even when she told him there was something inside the vase. He wasn't going to spoil the surprise for he could see it on her face. He just watched her softly, feeling his own heart beat in anticipation as those final moments before the reveal drew nearer and nearer. He was savouring each moment, until she looked at him. Allowing their gaze to hold for a few seconds, he began to move closer to her. Why not be traditional in this moment. He moved to one knee, taking her hand that did not hold the box in between both his hands, looking directly up at her, his next words spoken in their native tongue. "I once lost sight of us, and almost lost you because of it." Not in death, but in distance. He had once chosen his mission over her.
"I won't make that mistake again." Never again. He would not place his mission above her. "I love you Magda." More than he could truly express in words. "You have shown me what true happiness is, and I want to dedicate my life, to showing you the same." For she had show him, what it was to be happy. What it could feel like. "If you will let me." For he full well knew what he was asking of her. He reached for the ring, pulling it out of the box. He knew he could use his powers but he wanted to feel everything in this moment. "Will you grant me the honour, of becoming my wife?"

'Cause with the all that has happened"I once lost sight of us, and almost lost you because of it." He spoke to her in Polish, and her heart swelled even more for it. "I won't make that mistake again." Magda felt her eyes pick, as he knelled and and shew knew here this was going! He was going to propose! She was human and he had strong feelings on what it meant to be mutant--and he loved her any how! "I love you Magda."
"You have shown me what true happiness is, and I want to dedicate my life, to showing you the same." Erik had always been so honest, that she'd never doubted his words. So when he said them they meant more to her then the ring--they meant the world to her. "If you will let me." She'd let him! She'd beg him for the chance if needed! "Will you grant me the honor, of becoming my wife?" Wife! Magda knew she was smiling, and knew her answer right away. She was human, and she worried that her being human would interfere with his grand plans to protect his race--but Erik didn't seem to think it would. "I love you," She told him moving to wrap her arms around him. "Yes!" A thousand times yes. A thousand times she would do this! She knew the dangers of being with him. She knew the risks and even knowing the risks she would marry him because he was worth it! They'd been on this path since they were children. Now they'd walk the path together.

Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION He felt like he could breathe again as soon as she said yes. And just with that simple word, his heart burst with happiness, more than he ever thought possible. Despite all the risk, there was no hesitation in her voice. No uncertainty.
He returned the gesture, wrapping his own arms around her and allowing himself to just bask in this moment; one that had seemed only possible in a dream. But now, it was reality. He had once lost his family and this began the formation of another. Beyond the Brotherhood. "I love you too," he said quietly, but sincerely. The words heard due to their close proximity. He drew back only to slip the ring upon her finger and looked at it briefly, before looking at her, and leaning forward to close the distance between their lips, and seal the pending union that was now committed to happen.

'Cause with the all that has happenedMagda was so happy! This was truly everything she wanted! His as her family! While she had long thought of him as her family, his asking her to marry him made them family in a different way! It was no longer about what they had in stolen nights, and days together--but they would be building a life together! "Did you make this?" She asked, knowing he must have, and loving the fact that this ring was made with his hands for her! Magda didn't hold materials as important, but emotional value--and this one was high. She knew the moment it was on her, that she'd die with this ring on. She'd keep it there for the rest of her days.
Magda lifted her hands to cup his cheeks as she looked into his eyes--no longer caring if the tea grew cold. It was not the tea that she wanted but him. "You have truly surprised me." She told him, referencing his tease about not being able to surprise her if she made wooden chimes. She loved him, and embraced his powers. Had never sought to hold him back expect for when she feared for his life while hunting Shaw. Madga had worries that one day her humanness would come between them, but this eased that fear. He wanted her forever. And she would follow him anywhere!

Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION He smiled with pride when she asked him if he had made the ring. He had shaped the metal and added the diamond to it. "I did," he told her, having crafted it with her in mind. Her style, The size. The inscription on the inside that had My love in their native tongue of Polish. He could not shower her with gifts and riches but he also knew that such things were of little value to either of them. It was each other. Love. That was what held the utmost importance. And he hoped this gesture demonstrated that.
"Fit for perfection." Her. He held her hand in his own, holding it to his lips to kiss the back of it before she looked into his eyes, telling him that he had truly surprised her. Good. He had wanted to. He wanted this to be a special moment. Not because of any dire circumstance surrounding them. Only because he loved her and wanted to be with for the rest of his life. "Does this mean you will fully reconsider the wooden chimes?" He asked, a teasing gleam of amusement in his eyes as his lips curved into a wider smile. He knew she had been joking about that, but he couldn't help but tease and just add to the seeming perfection of this moment.

'Cause with the all that has happened"I did," She had assumed he did, knowing him and his powers. It amazed her that he was able to take something so unyielding and expertly shape and mold it without effort. Magda had always been slightly in awe of his abilities, or magik as she once called it. Knowing he made the effort to make a ring for her, rather then buying one, made her in awe of him too. "It's wonderful!" She told him, meaning it.
"Fit for perfection." "Yes you are," She teased him, meaning that he was perfect for her. He kissed her hand and she leaned forward to kiss his lips after. "Does this mean you will fully reconsider the wooden chimes?" Would she/ Magda pretended to think for a moment, as her hands moved over his shoulders. "Perhaps." Though they both knew she never would. Her little shop had slowly had more and more metal things added too it, both to make her think of him and because if anyone came looking for him--he had everything he needed to protect himself. Because she'd give up this place in a second if it meant he was safe.
Moving to rest her forehead to his, Magda just sat there smiling for a moment before looking up at him again. Her face was still happy, but there was a seriousness too it this time as well. Her words were chosen with care--not for fear of upsetting him, but for the need to make sure he knew she wasn't doubting in them, but explaining her feelings. "I had wondered if . . . since I was human, if that would one day come between us." Because he believed in his race, and she knew how he felt. "You never made me think it would because of you, but I wondered if it would." He others he worked with hadn't been so pleased about her being human. Some had. Many had not.

Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION Erik let out a slight sound of amusement as she turned his words around to describe him rather than her, any further teasing remark silenced by her lips. A welcome distraction. The teasing words just adding to the wonderful moment. But as she looked at him, there was an expression there that had him aware that the subject she was going to bring up, was one a bit more serious than this light hearted fun. And so it was, but a necessary topic at that.
He gave a small nod in understanding. He knew others questioned it; questioned her intentions. Warned him. Perhaps even saw his affections as hypocritical. His hatred for humans suddenly stilled, or perhaps she was the exception to everything. The one light that was provided in all this dark, cruel world. "I never would have left you because you were human." He wanted her to know that. That if something had come between them, it would not have been because she was human and he was a mutant.
"So no matter what, I won't let it come between us." Meaning, the others could say what they wished to say, but Erik would not leave her again. She would be his wife, and he her husband. A solidified union that he had no intention of ever breaking and he hoped she knew that. "My love for you is stronger than any other feelings I have towards humankind." His love for Magda, far stronger than any hatred.

'Cause with the all that has happenedHe nodded in understanding, and Magda's heart grew a little. Erik always seemed to understand more then what she said. She was greatful for it, and wanted him to know that she not only supported his cause, but had no intention of holding him back. Someone had to speak for the ones who were hunted, someone had to speak for the ones who couldn't. No one had spoke up for her family. No one had spoke up for his. Never again. "I have never felt anything but loved by you." He had always made her feel loved, even when he was hunting down Shaw. Yet she knew that choosing to love her, didn't make things easier for him all the time. "I want you to know I will not hold you back, or ask you to stop. That I believe in your cause as much as you." Because she'd seen the affects before. "You're an amazing man, Erik Lehnsherr," She smiled, letting the conversation lighten now that she'd made sure he understood that she was here for him. That she wouldn't ask him to choose sides, or slow down. When he hunted Shaw in vengeance she had feared for his life going down a dark road--now he was fighting and injustice and wasn't alone. The world needed him. She was just glad she got this part of him!

Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION It warmed Erik's heart to know that. That she felt nothing but loved by him. He knew that his mission might appear otherwise, but the fact that she knew he loved her, meant a great deal. Especially considering he had once chosen his mission over her. This time, she was trusting him not to do the same thing over and he hoped that by marrying her, it solidified that fact. He softly smiled, overwhelmed with the emotion that her words swelled his heart with.
What could he possibly say in such moments where she made him feel like he had a soul once again? Where he felt loved, and could love? Where there was proof that there was good and kindness in this world that held so much darkness? No. There was not a great deal he could say that could truly convey all that he felt, and all that she made him feel. "I know," he said in a low voice. He wanted her to know that just as she was trusting him, he trusted her. Emphatically. "You give my cause more meaning." Because he had a family to hold on to.
Ironic that she was a human was not lost on him, and he knew others did not quite like that fact . . . but it didn't matter to him. She was his family, in a different way than his mutant brothers and sisters were. "I love you Magda Eisenhardt," he reiterated. "Far more than words can say," he added on, leaning forward to kiss her again. Leaning back he remained close, wanting to savour this moment forever. "I don't want to wait long," he added, referring to when they could get married. Besides, it wasn't as if they could have a huge, grand event.

He told her that he loved her, and that he didn't want to wait. She smiled, feeling that way too! "I can be ready tonight," Magda joked, knowing that he didn't mean quite that fast. "Or any time, on any day you'd like." She imagined that it would take a few weeks to get everything ready for a small wedding, but when your heart is in the work--and her's was! Though, she wanted to tease him about calling her Magda Eisenhardt . "So you can practice calling me Magda Lehnsherr now," She was teasing him about her name, since he had called her by her family name; and Magda planned to take his after the wedding. he liked teasing him, and this happy feeling! He loved her and wanted to marry her! Her hand rested on his cheek as she smiled into his face. Magda Lehnsherr! They were going to be married!

Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION Tonight. Wouldn't that be wonderful. But Erik knew there were certain things they had to prepare, and while it would be an intimate event . . . there was still one other person he wished to tell. "The sooner, the better," he agreed. Any day, hopefully within the next week or so. There was no sense in prolonging it. Though when she spoke of changing her name . . . Erik paused, unsure how to tell her that she couldn't, without disappointing her.
Perhaps it was inevitable, but it certainly wasn't something he wanted to do on the night they were engaged. He slightly smiled with her hand on his cheek, his own wrapped around her. "Magda," he began to say, not about to lie or let her continue to get her hopes up about something like this. "It would not be safe for you to take my name." Any affiliation with him would not be safe. Ironic, since he was asking her to be his wife . . . but that was different. Changing her name would be far too obvious, and it just took one person recognizing it, to tear everything that they had built, apart.

'Cause with the all that has happenedShe could tell by the way he said her name, that this wasn't what he wanted to say in this moment. "Magda," he began in an tone that gave her pause. "It would not be safe for you to take my name." Not safe from the others like her, he meant. She knew that he was a wanted man, but the first night they had remet as adults he had explain to her why that was so. That he had not killed the man he was said to have killed, that he'd spent 10 years in solitary confinement while watching others get tested and killed. He had been broken out to stop another mutant from assassinating someone, and when he learned of the plot to used robot hunters to hunt and kill mutants he had taken action.
Then he tried to protect mutants. Not he sought to protect her.
"Erik, I am proud of you." She began softly, wanting to make sure he understood that she wasn't going to hide that she loved him. "You are a good and honorable man. I am not afraid of them." Her fingers brushed back his hair as she spoke to him. "I want to take your name. I would be proud to take your name. I know they are looking for you, but I would follow you anywhere." And she meant it. She'd give up this shop if he asked it and follow him to wherever he needed to work from. Setting deeper on his lap, she opened her legs to better balance over him, and to settle with her hips against his. "You are worth any risk." All of the risks.

Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION Her words made his heart swell with emotion. With honour. To hear she felt that way about him. Her devotion. Her loyalty. It meant the world to him, just as she did. His arms accommodated her position, arms wrapped around her lower back as he looked at her with a soft expression, taking in her words. To hear anyone tell him he was worth the risk . . . a sentiment from someone he loved and who loved him. "You flatter me," he said with a light tease, a playfulness, but genuinely meaning it too. "But I won't risk you," he told her softly. The fact that she was willing to take his name despite the risks it posed, was enough for him. "I won't place you in any further danger." Like being with him was. But he loved her far too much to imagine a life without her and hoped that by proposing, it helped express and solidify that. "You honour me," he said, returning the words. "And I am forever grateful for that." For her words. He leaned forward to lightly kiss her lips, their current positions quite comfortable and so Erik couldn't resist a flirtatious tease with his words that came next. "Though I'm not entirely sure how to properly thank you for it," playful suggestiveness in his tone of voice.

'Cause with the all that has happenedHe told her that she was flattering him, but she knew she wasn't. He was fighting for his people in a way that no one had fought for her's until it was too late. He was standing up to the people who would ruin them, and she knew that wasn't an easy thing to do. She couldn't do it, she didn't have that emotional power in her. He did. He could. She loved that about him.
He continued by saying he wouldn't risk her, and she knew that it wasn't fair to be disappointed. The amazing man she loved more then anything in this world had just asked her to spend the rest of her life sharing it with him, and a name wasn't something worth getting disappointed over--but she was. She hated not taking his name. She wanted that. Maybe it was old fashioned of her, but she wanted it very much. It was apart of her culture, and his. Family names were so important to their cultures, and to not be able to take her husband's because a government didn't believe he was trying to save someone and decided he was evil was upsetting.
He teased her and she smiled slowly at first, pulling herself back into this moment. Pressing her forehead to his, Magda teased him back. "Really? Do you need some instruction then?" Her hand moved to his, lifting it up to touch her cheek, and hold it there and she leaned her face into it.
