The last time Erik had seen Charles and the others was right before he flew from the scene -- literally, flew. It had been a rather intense incident between them all. His plan had failed, although ultimately, he supposed they had all been somewhat victorious if they did indeed successfully alter the future and thus, prevented the extinction of mutant kind. It had not been long at all since that day; the one that had marked Magneto one of the most wanted men in the world. As if he wasn't a fugitive before, this truly solidified it. It was perhaps why, even in the secure location of the school, Erik wore sunglasses and a hat to conceal his appearance. He was watching from afar, seeing that the school was reopening. Good. Charles was embracing his powers once more and doing something good with them, rather than returning to a recluse, hiding from the world. He was proud of him for that at least, but even still, Magneto could not go to the school. He was unsure where he and Charles had stood, and he was not going to satisfy that uncertainty today.
Perhaps he had just come to see if they had succeeded; to ensure that mutants were still alive in the future. Once again, they could not be sure of this but if what Logan had said was true, and that it was truly Mystique's action of killing Trask that had sparked everything -- something that she had changed -- then perhaps there was some hope for their future after all. But that did not mean Magneto would not stop fighting. If anything, he was more motivated now than before. Despite all his efforts, humans had won and this truth devastated Magneto. It only proved that he needed to fight harder and more diligently against the threat of humans. What other choice did they have? His Brotherhood was growing, especially after his rather public and televised speech, appealing to other mutants to join him in this war. To know that there were others willing to fight for mutant rights, was rather reassuring. Still. It did not mean that his mind did not go to Charles, or even Mystique at times. The two mutants that he had and would always care for despite how separately their paths went. It seemed to be a repeat of history, for all those he cared for seemed to take a different path from him, or perhaps it was he who took a drastically alternate path. He could not regret it. But he still often thought about it.Tag Mystique

It was for the best that Mystique not go inside, even though she had been standing outside of the school for about an hour now. Maybe more, actually..she lost track of time somewhere. She was filled with pride as she gazed over the mansion that she used to call home.. back when she was Raven Darkholme. Charles was finally reaching his potential.. grasping his destiny. She always said that he was destined for great things.. It made her feel good to know she was right.
This was her way of saying goodbye. At least for now. Sure, she could have gone in there and said something all cryptic as one of his new students, or she could have just gone in there herself.. but it was best, for now, that she just stay away. The two of them knew that one day they were going to have to part ways. Now was the time. She couldn't keep moving in and out of his life forever. It would be confusing. However, she knew that this wouldn't be the final goodbye for Charles Xavier. She'd be back one day. For now, she needed to be on her own. Find her own way. Take care of things that she had been suppressing for a longtime. Perhaps she'd go visit Germany...
As she walked off, she too was in a disguise. She didn't disguise herself as anyone else. It would be too obvious. She did however wear a black hat with a large black rim, and a black trench coat to hide her blue body that was dark enough to blend in with the night. As she walked, she noticed another figure standing not too far away from the school. Her heart started to race..she hoped it wasn't someone who would recognize her. Keeping her head down, she started to walk faster, trying to move behind the man without saying a word. Perhaps he wouldn't notice....

Magneto was pulled from his thoughts when he heard someone not too far. He immediately turned his head to see a dark figure, slinking away. A lurker in the night. The first thought that entered Magneto's mind was of a slightly protective nature, thinking that it was a spy and they had found the location of a save haven for mutants. But just as quickly as the thought formed, it was dismissed, for the return of Charles' powers meant that he would be able to detect such a threat. Still, it peaked Magneto's curiosity as to who this was. He took a few steps toward them before they were able to get too far, and it was either luck or fate that had allowed him to catch a glimpse of the stranger's eyes. They were eyes that he would never forget; ones that he had always thought were so striking and beautifully vibrant. And realizing that she was in her true form, allowed him easily decide which name to refer to her as. "Mystique?" He questioned, his voice calm and composed, yet there was an ever so slight hint of surprise in it.
Upon his recognition of her, he took a few steps toward her, unsure if his presence would make her stop or make her flee faster. He could have asked her what she was doing here, but the question could just as easily be returned to him. Something told him they were here for the same reason. Still, he took the opportunity to walk closer to her still, aware that their last encounter was far from a pleasant one. Despite the dramatics of it, he held no resentment toward her. Not for the fact that she had thwarted his plans, and not for the fact that she shot him in the neck and knocked him out. If anything, he was rather proud that she remained strong and determined. Even if he strongly opposed what she was trying to do. "It is good to see you," he answered, truly meaning his words. He was glad to see that she appeared well and unharmed . . . well, perhaps apart from where he had shot her in the leg. He was now standing directly behind her to see if she would turn to face him. If she did not, then he knew she refused to speak to him. If she did, then perhaps they were indeed capable of having a somewhat civil conversation.

The voice that spoke to her couldn't be mistaken. Especially when he called her Mystique. Currently, there weren't many people who would willingly refer to her by that name. "Magneto," She spoke, pivoting to look at him. Yes, their last encounter was a rather unpleasant one, but she wasn't going to let that put a wedge between them. He shot her, she shot him.. bygones. "It's nice to see you too. I didn't think i'd see you again after," she started, but she didn't finish that line of thought. It would have just led to topics that she was sure neither wanted to bring up at the current moment. "Well.. I'm glad you're here."
She looked toward the school, and exhaled softly. "You're watching him too, aren't you?" Magneto and Charles would always likely worry about each other. They were good friends, and they would always be that way, more than likely, no matter what happened. "I worry about him sometimes.. and then I come here, and remember exactly why I don't have to worry anymore." A small smile tugged at the corner of her lips.
After a moment of pausing, she looked up at Magneto and that smile was still there. "I worry about you, too. Don't think for a moment that you're never in my thoughts...because you are. No matter what we've been through." She clutched her trench coat, pulling it tighter around her body. "I guess i'm not so good at being stealthy tonight. Maybe I wanted someone to find me..."

He heard the way she said his name, the familiarity of it causing him to give an ever so slight smile, even more in place as she seemed to be genuine in her words. It was good to see him as well? He had feared never crossing paths with her again. And the worst part of it was that her reasons were completely understandable. He had no one to blame . . . other than humans. The fault for everything seemed to lay at their feet. "That makes two of us," he admitted, not about to lie about the mutual unexpected reunion between them. She then made reference as to his reason of being here. She knew him well. His eyes followed hers to the school, looking at it as it would prove to be a safe haven for many mutants who were threatened by humans. Or perhaps were just looking for a sense of belonging. He listened to her words as she explained how she worried for him. That could easily be understood. For her and Charles were close. And he knew that Charles blamed him for taking her away. But what had Magneto done? Given her the confidence to be herself? There was much that Magneto would take the blame for, but not this. For it dismissed Raven's own intelligence and independence, to say that she was naive enough to go off with him. That was so far from the truth.
It wasn't until she spoke of how she worried for him too that he averted his gaze from the school to her. He couldn't help but feel a bit surprised by this. And, well, relieved. To know that their bond had not entirely be severed. To know that she seemed to understand why he had done -- or attempted to do -- what he had. One life to save many. But that did not mean it hadn't been difficult. It had. To aim the gun at her, to consider a world without her. The thought alone had pained him, and he knew he would forever live with that pain had he been successful in his attempt. "Just as we, worry for you," he told her, sincerely returning the sentiment. He knew Charles worried for her. One of the first things he had asked her when they had a calm conversation, was how Raven was. When was the last he had seen her. They were so used to being with her; Charles for the majority of her life; Magneto for that year they were together. That didn't mean that Magneto thought her as anything less than independent. For the 10 years he had been imprisoned, she had been continuing to fight for the cause. And he had been so very proud of her, even if he didn't know the extent of what she had been doing. He only wished that their reunion after a decade had been more pleasant, for he had greatly missed her. "Your understanding of a difficult situation is greatly appreciated, Mystique," he told her honestly. For she could have just as easily turned away from him, bitter and angry that he had been so ready to kill her. "Because, do not think for a moment that the decision I made was by any means an easy one." It hadn't been. He'd been dreading have to aim the gun at her and pull the trigger. At least something good had come from Charles' plans being successful over Erik's. She spoke of how perhaps she had wanted someone to find her. "Even in the darkest of nights, you are unmistakable." His words were spoken as if it were more of a compliment rather than an insult. He was merely explaining how he had found her . . . as she was able to find him when searching him out. The train station was a clear example of that. "Was it Charles that you were hoping to be found by?" He asked, wondering if she had come here to see him more than just afar. "He seems to be well," Magneto continued, unsure if she knew about Charles, previous condition. "You should go to him. I am certain he will be thrilled to see you," he encouraged. Despite Mystique's decision to join Magneto, her and Charles' bond could never be truly severed. And Magneto was aware of that. Though he did not see it as a competition for her attention. He merely was encouraging her to see her brother if she so desired to, by giving her the reassurance that Charles would be excited to see her . . . if he didn't already know she was here.

The three of them had such complicated relationships between them. Still, however, she wasn't surprised that the two of them both thought of her, and worried for her safety. "I know." She spoke in a tone that was just above a whisper. "So the two of you have seen each other, then?" It wasn't that she was afraid of being near the two of them.. or that she felt embarrassed in any way.. but she wasn't sure where her place was right now, and so she felt that she should keep her distance.
When he asked who she wanted to be found by, she gently shrugged her shoulders. "I'm not sure, actually. More than likely, Charles... I opened my mind for a brief moment, but then I realized that it's not time yet." This went along with his next comment. To go to him. She gave him a small smile and shook her head. "Not yet. Soon, though... I promise. Especially now that I found you." She paused, and shoved her hands in her pockets. "Would you like to take a walk? If we keep hovering around here, it's going to end up being a big reunion that I don't think any of us are ready for right now." She teased, managing a small smile.

She questioned as to whether they had seen each other and Erik lamented in how they had departed from one another's company. Having such conflicting views and mindsets. But alas, he could not change that. He firmly believed in what he fought for, just as Charles had his own views and ideals. "Not since Paris," he admitted to her. He had left then, and not see his friend. Not directly anyway. This was the first time he had even come to see the school since they had left for the mission in Cuba. He looked at her as she spoke of how she had opened his mind to him for a moment, with the hopes that he would perhaps find her. But that, and her later words, revealed that she was not yet ready to confront him. That was understandable. The two of them together, pulling Mystique in such different directions. . . he could understand how overwhelming it may be for her. But he also knew that she was her own woman, who made her own decisions. Her refusal to listen to them had proved that. Erik had gone with Charles, Logan, and Hank to help convince her not to do something, because they knew of the strong bond he and Mystique had. But even Magneto could not sway her mind. It indeed did show her strong will.
"Whenever you are ready. The time will come," he stated, aware that Paris would not be the last time she saw Charles . . . if that indeed had been their most recent encounter. After all, it was not that long ago. Her words of having found him raised slight curiosity in him, yet he did not question it's meaning for he grew distracted with her offer to walk with her. She was quite right about her reasoning for remaining here, for Magneto did not wear his helmet. Charles may already even know they were here, and sensed their reluctance in making that known. He would never make the mistake of underestimating Charles Xavier. He also recognized the fact that she was offering her company, meaning she was willing to stay in his. Something he wished to take advantage of. "That is for the best," he stated. For neither of them, perhaps not even Charles, were prepared to see them all. He hadn't even been prepared to see Mystique, but he did not regret his encounter with her now. He was rather willing to embrace it. He turned, slowly moving in the opposite direction of the school, indicating that he was quite willing to go for a walk with her. It would allow them a chance to speak about things, for they had a great deal to discuss. "Where are you remaining these days?" He asked, unable to help but question her whereabouts. The world was a dangerous place, and he wanted to make sure she was staying somewhere safe since it wasn't with him, and it wasn't with Charles.

Although a group reunion definitely wasn't in order, Mystique couldn't deny that she was happy to see Magneto. Even though they had an incredibly checkered past that would put a chess board to shame, she still seemed to come back to the two that it all started with. Charles and Erik. She was a little disappointed that Charles and Magneto hadn't seen or spoken to each other since Paris, but perhaps, right now, that was for the best. There would be time for it later. It would happen one day.
As the two of them walked, Magneto inquired where she had been living. It was too simple of a question. "Everywhere, really. To be honest, I'm sick of smelling like hotel shampoo." She had been roaming from state to state, even country to country when she could. "I've been searching out others, like us. I've come across quite a few actually. They're all just looking for somewhere to call home. Where people accept them. Of course I tried to convince them to have faith in their abilities. But there were some that were merely children. I spoke to them about Charles's school, which is fine as they'll be safe.. but there must be something more. Somewhere safe they can go without being told to hide. As much as I love Charles, he really seems to enjoy staying in the dark."
After a pause of silence for him to speak, if he chose to do so, she spoke up again. "I haven't been hiding." She wanted to make sure that he knew that. He told her once to never hide..and she promised she wouldn't. "I've merely been staying under the radar to plan my next move." Her eyes lifted to his face as she kept in step with him. "I should tell you.. I'm not upset that you shot me. I knew that you had to do it. I know I was thinking out of impulse, and anger. Something that I shouldn't have done. You were right to do what you had done." Charles would have been far too easy on her. Tough love is what she had needed. Otherwise she would have just found Trask and killed him. She would have done everything wrong.
"Anyway." She cleared her throat. "What have you been doing, Magneto? Recruiting for the cause?"

She told him that she had been staying in a hotel, and even he knew that she deserved far better than that. He knew what such a life was like though. He had lived it from the moment he escaped from the camps, to having met Charles and the others. Going from hotel to hotel, not having that stability. While Magneto was unsure he would ever have a stable life -- he appeared to be destined for a more transient one -- home could often be found with others. And this was perhaps the first time ever since she had met Charles, that Mystique had lived such a lifestyle. He remained silent, thoughtful over her words as he processed them. She went on to say what she had been doing, and he slightly raised his chin with pride, for he was proud of her. She could have just as easily remained in hiding as a recluse, refusing to face others. But no. She still took necessary steps towards creating a more accepting society for mutantkind. Offering Charles' school as a safe haven was indeed a good idea, for the Brotherhood was not exactly a safe haven. It was reserved for those who wished to fight in this war, while Xavier's school provided them a place to hide from the world.
Which was precisely why Raven had left Charles to begin with; because she no longer wanted to hide. No sooner had he thought of those words, that she spoke them, causing him to look at her with a slight smile. "You have been acting wisely, in all aspects," he told her. Not hiding, but being discreet. Not selfishly ignoring mutants, but embracing and encouraging them. "I wish I could say such a place existed," he told her. "But society still has not accepted us. And until they do, mutants have only two choices: to hide or to fight." Two radically contrasting options, but Magneto knew which one he would stay determined to do. "You have been doing the right thing, Mystique," he told her, not wanting her to think he held doubt in that. "I am proud of you." That she was not cowering away when it could be so easy to do so. She chose the harder path; the path of justice. That, and of course he was proud of her for not hiding. He believed her as well, knowing that if she was hiding, he would not have found her tonight in her natural form. She would camouflaged in the guise of a human.
Her next words almost caused him to cease walking, but instead, he just turned to look at her. She stated that she was not upset, that she understood she had to do it, that she had been acting out of impulse and anger. And that she should not have done what she attempted to do. To hear such words, further swelled him with pride for her. As she was looking at the situation beyond a personal attack, and realizing that he had done what he believed to be right at the time. "I too acted in haste," he admitted to her. He had been involved in the plan by Charles and Logan, because they knew Mystique would listen to Erik. But he had seen an opportunity to target her, disallowing the possibility of her from ever killing Trask . . . and he had taken advantage of it. His actions too had their repercussions, for shooting her had caused them to collect her blood, and give them part of the final piece they needed to perfect the Sentinels. "Perhaps if I had attempted to explain the situation to you, without an audience around us, the events could have unfolded very differently." Charles was there, Hank was there, Logan, Trask, Stryker . . . far too many people in order for him to explain to her. He had done so later, when she had impressively tracked him down. "It brought me no pleasure to do what I attempted to," He added. Wanting and needing her to know that.
"I admit, that I feared for our future. And acted out on that fear." He seldom ever let emotions control him, though arguably ones such as anger, hate and fear were what fueled his actions. Still. As long as they were being honest, he would not withhold such admittances from her. She then asked of his own activities, what he had been doing, assuming he was recruiting, which she was absolutely correct about. "Indeed," he confirmed. "The Brotherhood is growing. New members join us every day in the fight against oppression and persecution. Mutants from all over the world have come, allowing us to grow stronger and more determined in our purpose." She knew about that all too well. She had once been in The Brotherhood, though he did not know where she stood now. After a few moments of silence, he had to ask his next question. "What will you do now?" Would she continue to hope from hotel to hotel? Did she have a long term plan in mind? He wanted to make sure she was well, for despite his actions -- though her understanding of them clearly revealed she held no ill will against him for it -- he did and would forever care about her and her well being.

When Magneto said that Mystique had been doing the right thing, she felt a boost of confidence. Not that she needed it, but it definitely helped her stay steered in the right direction. She was on the right path, and this was confirmation. Not to mention it was something that both Erik and Charles would agree on and those things were few and far between. She nodded solemnly when he spoke of how there were the two options of hiding or fighting, and it hit her like a blow to the stomach. It was the truth.. hiding or fighting. And even though she'd love for everyone to fight for the cause, there were some that were just too soft. Too young. They wouldn't be able to handle the fighting..and that was where Charles came in. It was those people who she directed to his school. She was deep in thought when she heard Magneto say he was proud of her. She lifted her chin slightly, and a smile formed on her lips. "Good to know." Even though she had a bit of nonchalance in her voice, confidence swelled within her.
When Mystique brought up the last time they had seen each other, and the events that had occurred, it made her feel relief to get it off of her chest. She had wanted to say it before, but she was too proud, and yet too ashamed to speak what was on her mind. She supposed that this was as good of a time as any to confess that she had acted on impulse and she let her anger get control of her. When Magneto also admitted that he too acted out of haste, it brought a smile to her lips. It was a strange thing to smile about, but in all honesty, it was strange how it all happened. "The past is where it belongs. Behind us. And look at us now.. walking, and talking, as old friends do." But they were more than old friends to each other. So much more. The two of them had a history, and a connection that even time, and pain couldn't completely sever. Much like that of her and Charles.. yet very, very different.
"I'm glad to hear that the Brotherhood is thriving, Magneto. I have no doubt in my mind that you'll lead them.. lead all of us to greatness one day. It's only a matter of time." One thing that always drew her to him was his passion about his beliefs. Beliefs that the two of them had shared. He was an inspiration to her, and she was sure that he'd have the same effect on any mutant that was strong willed enough to follow him. In fact, she had thought many times about coming back to join him.. but she wasn't sure that it was the right time for that, either. She needed to be on her own for awhile.
To his question of what she would do now, she inhaled slowly, and looked to the sky in thought. "I was thinking about going back to Germany. I have some things there that need to be handled before I really move on with my life." There were people she needed to confront. Namely, her parents. What she would do when she found them was still up for debate. Now that she knew that Charles had the school back up and running, and that Erik was doing what he did best as well, it was time for Mystique to take her future in to her own hands. "Where i'll go after that.. well, I guess I'll cross that bridge when I come to it."
She paused in her walking, and she turned to look at him. "I've been keeping it inside for a long time, Erik.. but I have to be honest. I missed you. I don't want you to think even once that I don't remember what we were able to share for that one year. I still remember it all, and I still..." She blinked. "I still think of you.. every day."

She spoke of how the past was where it belongs, and he could not agree more. The only thing he disagreed upon, was her description of them. Old friends. He could understand her reason for using this term, but to him . . . he and Charles were old friends. He wasn't sure he had ever been, just friends with Mystique. For the moment they reached a mutual understanding and acceptance, there had been something between them. Ever since that night in Xavier's mansion on the couch, there had been something. Some may argue that a year was not a long time to have developed such a powerful relationship with someone, but they clearly did not understand that experience can often trump time. That they were connected, in ways that he did not usually connect with others. He had invested himself in them, again, not something he often did. And it had been worth it. For her greatly cared for her, more than he ever thought possible. He of course would not voice any of this, as they were his inner most thoughts. He just gave a bit of a smile and a short nod. "Indeed. Let us look toward a better future. For us, and mutantkind." Because it was easier to evade the subject of emotions, by using the subject of politics. Even if done in just slight mention.
Her next words caused his smile to remain. "I sincerely hope so," he stated, though felt proud that she spoke so highly of them, regardless of her unfortunate leaving of the group. Although, it hadn't been all too formal. He wished he could invite her back, tell her that it would thrive all the more with her in it. But he could not pressure her. He refused to do so to any mutant. If she was not ready to confront Charles, who was to stay she was ready to return to the Brotherhood? But if ever that time would come, well, perhaps that was a conversation for later. "The future that we were informed of was very grim and devastating for mutants. If anything, it has only strengthened my determination to prevent anything similar to that from occurring. Trask will not be the last to attempt a project that targets mutants." Of that, Magneto was certain. He then remained silent as she explained her next course of action; going to Germany. Part of him wanted to ask her what her plans involved, yet he knew that was none of his business. She was her own woman. "I wish you the best of luck in your business," he told her, genuine in his words. It was moments like this that he was greatly struggling in just blurting out the question of her return to the Brotherhood. His mentality was very, 'if you are out of the Brotherhood, you are out for good'.
He had said similar words to others. But Mystique had never willingly left. She had not changed sides and decided to join Charles or the humans. It had been a far more complicated circumstance than that. So despite everything, he still held trust for her. He wondered if the same could be said about her holding trust for him. She expressed her understanding, yet that was different than trust. It was almost as if she had seen into his mind without the power of telepathy, for her next words spoke of how she missed him. How she thought of him. How she remembered what they shared. All sentiments were mutual, for he felt the exact same way. Yet for him to voice his emotions had always been a difficult task. He had trusted those who knew him, would be able to sense how he felt through opening himself up to them. Yet, he also was fully aware that he had to give her something in return. "I have always greatly valued you, Mystique," he began to tell her. "Not just as a fellow mutant in the Brotherhood. But as someone far more." Otherwise, he would not have been with her. He would not have committed himself to her in that way. It had been an emotional investment for Magneto, one that he had caused him to struggle to speak of Mystique when Charles had asked about her on the jet.
"You have not been far from my mind either. So it is good to see you now, well, and as determined as ever." He looked at her, trying to conceal his own feelings as his mind recalled the time they were together. And how different the dynamic had become between them. He paused for a moment, trying to think of a topic to distract one from him asking her to return, for the temptation was great. "Where are you staying tonight?" He asked. If he could ignore all rationality, then he would willingly offer the headquarters. Yet his question was not much better in his attempt to ignore all that she caused to stir in him merely from being in her company once again. The ten years in prison had been difficult enough. He just needed to ensure he remained strong, and not let his own feelings for her cloud better judgment. But my, did she make it ever so difficult.

She wasn't surprised that he didn't ask about her business that she had in Germany.. and maybe one day she'd tell him, but for now, she was glad that he didn't inquire about it. It probably wasn't the best idea to move in to the past, but she had to do it. She had to confront the people who first made her in to what she was now. Maybe she'd thank them...or maybe it would go in a much more violent direction. Who knew? "A better future," She mused. "It sounds like paradise." It was what they all dreamed of, really. It was the one thing that every mutant could agree on, even though they all had so many different beliefs and views. That..they could all unite on.
What he said about Trask was true, as well. Trask was just a small blip on the radar of threats that they could be facing in the future, and honestly, the events that occurred between she, Magneto, and Charles, could have been for the best. What would have happened if a bigger threat had come, and Mystique would have tried taking it on by herself? She could have likely gotten killed, and perhaps would have gotten those very few people she cared about hurt as well. That would have been unforgivable in her mind. "I agree.. Trask was likely the least that we'll have to worry about. There isn't a doubt in my mind that it will get so much worse before it gets better." It was a dark outlook, but even though it sounded pessimistic, it was very much realism. "And thank you.. I'll likely need all of the luck I can get."
In the year that they had a relationship, the two of them were practically inseparable, and yet they did their best to keep their personal feelings for each other hidden. Or, at least they tried to. It was hard for them to keep it hid completely. Only those who were blind, or didn't want to see it, weren't privy to the fact that the two of them were together. However, they never voiced their true feelings about each other. Never professed feelings of love, or anything like that. The time had never come.. they were always too busy fighting for the cause. Not like either one of them would have admitted it anyway. "I've always greatly valued you too, Magneto. In fact.. after I finish with my business in Germany.. Perhaps I'll come back one day. If you're still willing to have me fight at your side." If he'd have her, of course. She never wanted to presume that she'd be welcomed back... however, she had a feeling that he'd allow it.
When she voiced her confession of how much she had thought of him, he returned the sentiment with one of his own. It was as though he were talking about a colleague, but she could read between the lines. She always knew how to do that with him. It was a skill she had to acquire while they were trying to hide their relationship from everyone else. Instead of responding to him with words, she simply gave him a small smile. It was a rather knowing smile, whether he realized it or not. The smile then faded when he asked where she'd be staying that evening. "Another hotel, of course." She spoke with a small laugh. "I just can't get enough of those continental breakfasts." Her voice was dripping with sarcasm.. but it wasn't like she'd go in and ask Charles for a room..and she didn't want to impose on Magneto, either. Again..she never wanted to be presumptuous.

It did indeed, sound like paradise. A future better for mutants. It seemed so difficult, yet it surely had to be attainable. Magneto had now dedicated his life to it, wanting more than what this world offered their kind. He could not accept that it would happen with time. For each day they waited, meant the deaths of more mutants. That was not a sacrifice he was willing to make. And this was often where his and Charles views conflicted and sparked a heated debate. "A well deserved one, considering this hell our kind endures every day." This hell of a world. A world that humans believed were only created for them. How he loathed that mentality. The arrogance, the intolerance. Once again, he could not agree more with her. It would indeed get a lot worse for their kind. "Which is why it is imperative we fight, rather than be submissive." He wasn't lecturing her on politics or the political views of the Brotherhood. She of all people understood. He was merely stating a fact, making it known. Her gratitude for needing luck made him a little more curious, but he set the subject to rest when she spoke of how she hoped to return to the Brotherhood, at his side.
The words caused him to look at her carefully, taking in her expression while saying them. She had never given him reason to ever distrust her, so he could not doubt her words now. For she would not say them unless she meant them. "It would be a privilege, to have you at my side once more," he told her sincerely. Losing Mystique had been a heavy blow against The Brotherhood. Yet another one he blamed humans for. Because even if they had not been successful in stopping her, according to Logan, she would have been captured and tortured. Either way, he would have lost her. Though this re-instilled that hope of having her with him once more. She then responded to his question, stating that she would be in another hotel. How he wished he could offer the Brotherhood Headquarters as a place for her to remain before she departed on her international journey. However, he knew better than to do this. She would need time, and the fact that she was already now considering returning to him, was a rather massive relief. He would not pressure her further. "Would you permit me then to escort you to your hotel?" He asked, not wishing to force his company upon her if she preferred to be alone. But also hoped she agreed, if only to spend more time with her. Time that was inevitably limited.

"I couldn't agree more." With everything that he said. About how they deserved paradise, and about how they had to fight. To take a stand, rather than hiding away in the darkness. It was what the homo-sapiens wanted.. for them to be hidden, and away from their eyes. That wouldn't stand, though. Not for long. Hopefully, one day, they would be appreciated for what they could do, and not segregated and ostracized.
He spoke of being privileged to have her at his side, and it made her feel a rush of warmth. She knew she'd always have a home with Charles should she ever need it, but she wanted a home where she could keep true in her beliefs, and that just wasn't the case at Charles's school. She belonged in the Brotherhood, fighting for mutant's rights at Magneto's side. "Well then, in that case.. perhaps our paths will cross again one day.. and I'll be fighting at your side once more."
She wasn't expecting him to escort her to her hotel, but she wasn't going to turn him down. Being found by him that night was one of the happiest moments that she'd had in quite some time. "I'd like that." She told him honestly with a smile that formed on her lips. She took a turn, and started to walk in the direction of the hotel. While they had a little bit of time to talk, she decided to tell him the truth of what she wanted to do in Germany. "I'm going back home," She started, letting it just burst forth from her mouth instead of dancing around the subject. "When I was a young girl, before I met Charles, my parents.. they hated me once I came in to my powers. My father beat me, my mother went in to an asylum. I don't know if she ever came out.. but him. It's him I want to confront most of all. Show him exactly what his little girl turned out like."

She spoke of fighting at his side once more and he quite liked the thought of that. It was not just her powers that made her so irreplaceable in The Brotherhood; it was also her company that he had missed. And that was strictly more personal. It had nothing to do with his ability to lead The Brotherhood, and everything to do with succumbing to his personal desires to be with her. Something that he had promised himself he would never do again, but the thought was far too tempting to dismiss. Still. They would have to see where they stood when -- if -- she returned. That would be the time to explore such a thing. He simply gave a small nod, following her lead to the direction they were going in as he walked alongside her. Without having to ask, she revealed her reason for going to Germany. She was returning home. He remained silent as he listened, and felt a rush of anger within him upon hearing how her parents treated her. It seemed her father mostly. On the surface, he remained calm and composed. But internally, a familiar rage and anger built; one that often fueled his actions against humans.
He had been very fortunate in his early childhood, in the sense that his parents had both been loving and nurturing toward him. Which was why when they were pulled from him and killed, it had wounded him beyond repair. It was why he had become obsessed with hunting Shaw. Not to exact his own revenge for how Shaw had tortured him, but rather, to avenge the murder of his mother at Shaw's hands. It seemed that most mutants had a rather tragic past when it came to their family. In one way or another, they were punished for their powers; for things beyond their control. It had been happening for decades upon decades, and would most likely never change . . . unless they took action against it. He continued to remain silent, keeping himself completely composed when hearing her tragic story. He would have offered to go with her, but he also knew that this was something she would need to do herself. Still.
That instinct of protectiveness he felt for her and other mutants -- though stronger for her considering their past together -- was strong in his heart, even if he forced himself not to act on it. "I can only imagine the difficulty of confronting the source of your pain as a child," he began to say. "It takes a strong individual to be able to do so." He always knew she had strong; that she possessed an immense inner strength. This merely further reinforced that. "And keep that in mind. That you possess far more strength and capability than he can ever hope to have. That he no longer has any power over you." He wasn't sure what she planned to do upon the confrontation. If circumstances differed and he were to join her . . . well, the human would not have made it out unscathed. He just felt the need to remind her, to encourage her to remember who she was. A mutant. Mutant, and proud.

It wasn't very far fetched, but Mystique knew that Magneto would want to go with her. He didn't voice it, but she could see it in his eyes. She would have loved for him to go with her, so they could work as a team to exact revenge on those who forced her away from her home when she was young.. however, the two of them both knew that it was her fight, and she needed to handle it on her own, or else she would carry it with her for the rest of her days.
"Weakness is what drove me to run away, but it is indeed strength that is taking me back there. I can't say that i'm unhappy about how it worked out, though. It was what took me to Charles and what inevitably brought us all together. I can't say what's going to happen to my father.. but I think it will honestly depend on the condition my mother is in. I believe that she would have eventually come to terms with me being a mutant, but my father never would have." Was that the truth, though? She didn't know.. but in her mind, her father was her primary target, and until she saw differently, it wouldn't change.
As the hotel came in to view, she found herself not wanting him to leave her so soon. "But let's not talk about all of that. Not tonight." She paused for a moment, basking in the silence, and then she stopped, just as they reached the door to the hotel she was staying in. It was one of those motels, actually, that had little apartments that she was staying in for the night. "I don't know what's going to happen with us," She mused. It was something he had told her many years ago, when she had invited him in to her room for the night, after they had made love for the first time. "But if tonight is all we have.. I want to spend it with you." It wasn't exactly what he had said to her, but it was close enough to it that he'd likely know what she was talking about. She smiled up to him, and she took him by the hand. "Magneto... stay with me tonight. Let's push it all away like we did that night in the mansion.. Just one more night that it can be just you and I. A man and a woman who care about each other deeply.. Stay. Please."

She spoke of how weakness was what had driven her away, but strength that took her back. Yes. Indeed that was true. It was however disappointing to hear that her father never would have accepted her. That perhaps her mother would have. The fact that mutants had to wait to be accepted by their families -- consisting of those who should ideally love them unconditionally -- was tragic. They were fighting to be accepted in society; their own families could not accept them, how could some accept themselves? At least she saw the positive, in that she had met Charles and him through her ordeal. Besides, who knew how restricted and confined she would have been had she remained in such a toxic environment. It would have undoubtedly tore piece after piece from her, until there was no shred of a soul left. That was what he had believed Shaw had done to him. But after meeting Charles, her, the others, and finding his purpose in life . . . how wrong he had been. He thought over her words as they neared the motel which she was staying at. She dismissed the former conversation and he was not going to let it linger, especially since she spoke of not wanting to discuss it tonight.
That sounded like she was planning on prolonging their unexpected encounter. Perhaps it had been naive of his own self to believe that he merely planned to escort her here and then leave. He clearly wanted the same thing; to be with her. So when she voiced such words, it forced the denial he had to ebb away. He was using words he had once said to her, and the sentiment had not failed to register in him. It had been when she asked him to stay the night, and just as it was now, she had been voicing what he had wanted. He did not find it unsettling that she knew him so way. He rather enjoyed not having to vocalize his emotions; relying on the other to recognize them. He continued to remain silent and unmoved. When she smiled at him, when she took his hand. She was asking him to stay with her tonight. To once again ignore the world and just push everything aside so that they could enjoy the comfort they had found in one another's arms. That night, their first night together, had marked the beginning of what would be one of the few meaningful relationships in his life. How could he not want that? He had been imprisoned for ten years, often having thought of her. Only to be deprived of her when released.
And now, being with her here, hearing that she wanted this as well . . . was making it difficult to not succumb to his desires. No. Not difficult. Impossible. She was standing near the door, as he stood in front of her. He slightly raised his hand to the knob, a slight click of the metal unlocking as the door pushed open. Simultaneously, he stepped forward, causing her to step back as his body suddenly pressed against hers and his lips moving to hers in a sudden as well as intensely passionate kiss. He did not use words; he didn't need them. Not when actions could speak so much louder. Having practically pushed her inside, he waved the door closed behind them, hardly having to think or focus on locking it -- though he did so as well -- as his lips continued to move along hers. The sensation of her touch felt stronger after having been deprived of it for so long. He continued to step forward, causing her to step back until her back was pressed against the wall. The lacking control of his actions causing his glasses to fall off which was fine, for it gave him a better angle for the kiss as he continued to deepen it and bask in the pleasure that was coursing through his body . . . knowing, that it was just the beginning.

Mystique gasped quietly when Magneto pushed her and captured her lips with his. She had started to stumble back, almost falling through the door as he opened it with his abilities, but she caught herself by wrapping her arms over her shoulders. Actions always spoke louder than words, and Magneto had a talent with it. She heard the door click as she was pushed back against a wall inside of the room. His sunglasses had fallen between the two of them, but the two of them never broke their kiss. Luckily, the glasses ended up falling to the floor.
She jumped up slightly, and she wrapped her legs around Magneto's waist. She wasn't wasting any time. It was rather late, and so they didn't have a lot of time together.. that was the problem. There was never enough time. She pulled her lips away from his just long enough to kiss the side of his neck as her nails raked over the back of his shirt. She had missed him.. the way he smelled, the way he felt, the way he tasted. Everything about him had lingered in her mind. After ten years of wanting something so badly, and then finally having it, made her head positively spin.
Her fingers curled beneath the hem of his shirt, and she started to lift it up so that she could quickly take it off. She wasn't going to completely ruin his clothing this time.. after all, the next morning he'd have to go outside, and she didn't have a robe this time for him to steal. Still without words, once his shirt was off, she met his lips with her own again in a deep, passionate kiss. A kiss that would project her feelings for him, even if she couldn't bring herself to say the words.

Her nonverbal reaction to his facilitation greatly encouraged him. He was unsure if she had expected them to have a conversation that would eventually lead to this when initially inviting him in, but right now, he could not think of suppressing his need any longer. His body had craved her for far too long, and he no longer held the strength to deprive himself of her when she was right here. When she was willing to be with him. With her legs wrapped around his waist, it pushed against and placed pressure on his already sensitive region that already severely ached for her. He rather enjoyed how nimble and flexible she was, and it had indeed made for some rather vigorous nights during their year together. Right now, he was relying on it to keep her in place as she was right now. He pulled her hat off so that he could press her harder against the wall without the accessory to interfere. Quickly realizing the difference it made, he pulled his off as well, tossing both carelessly to the ground, uncaring of where they ended up. She pulled away from his lips, though immediately occupied them again as he felt her move along the side of his neck, her hands dragging along his clothed back. It felt incredible, and he found his breathing grow heavier for each action she did, made him need her more urgently. He then felt her hands move to the bottom of the first and start to lift it.
He encouraged this by ever so slightly moving his head back and as he lifted his arms to help pull it over his head as it joined the rest of their clothing. Pressing his lips against hers, he too deepened the kiss, allowing his desperate need to be well revealed in the way his lips occupied hers, exploring her, gaining his fill of her familiar taste, having almost -- almost -- forgotten what it had tasted like. This wasn't a reunion after a few days, months, or weeks. It had been years. A decade. And no longer could he think of control. His hands went to the bottom of coat, not wanting to pull away from her to remove it. Instead, he just hiked it up a little so that it was above her waist. He then used his powers to once again, undo his buckle, and quickly. He knew he should take her to the bed. That they should take advantage of the space. But he was far too consumed with need, and to scratch this painful itch. Satisfy this severe craving that was numbing all thought. Besides, they had all night long. A hand of his fell between them as he freed himself and guided himself to her and without waiting a single moment longer, pushed into her, pressing her harder against the wall as he heavily exhaled with intense pleasure. His other hand skimmed her leg, moving to her upper thigh, gripping her tightly, as he pushed deeper into her, again and again, not bothering to take the time to create a slow and steady rhythm. He could not do slow right now.

There could have been many words spoken, of that Mystique was sure. However, in this situation, under these circumstances, none were needed. Besides, words would force the two of them to stop kissing, and that definitely wasn't an option currently. She always loved the way he could undo his belt without his hands. That was always such an incredible turn on for her. And then finally those hats of theirs were off. It made the kissing much easier, and therefore much more intense. As Mystique's hands roamed over his back, then up to his neck, and finally tangling through his hair, she felt him hiking up her coat. It was only a moment longer until she finally felt the pressure of him thrusting inside of her. It sent her body soaring.. it was a touch she had been craving for so very long. Too long.
Sure, they could have gone to the bed.. but they would get to that at some point more than likely. For now, she was savoring the thrill of being taken by Magneto for the first time in a decade. She used one of her strong, agile legs to push his pants down the rest of the way so that she could feel his bare skin. She wanted to feel every inch of him. She missed what this felt like.. the way his muscles moved against her hands, and her legs as he moved against her. Her mouth opened slightly, so that his tongue could enter to search for her own. She wanted the kiss to be so much deeper.. she wanted to scream for him, but she thought it much better to just let the cries of pleasure flow in to his mouth.
No matter what happened that night, the two of them would at least have this.. one more night of pure passion. As he gripped her thigh, she moved slightly so that one of her legs was hooked around his arm while her other stayed wrapped easily around his waist. She was always incredibly flexible, and every time she moved in to a strange position, it always seemed to have a very positive effect on both her, and Magneto as well.
