Erik's eyes slowly opened to the peeking sun through the window of the hotel room they had found shelter in. This was their life for the time being: remaining in a hotel room until they were able to find a permanent house. Something that they were searching for every day. Even today there were a few houses that they had lined up to see. He hoped one of them was it. While this kind of lifestyle was one Magda was accustomed to due to her people's nature, it was not one he was used to. He had grown up in a home with his mother and father. But the war had changed all that. It had changed their lives forever. But Magda had been his saving grace. The only positive aspect of his life. He slightly turned to look at her as she still slept, not wanting to move too much for he did not wish to wake her. It was still early enough that they had time before they planned to go see the first house of the day. He carefully moved his hand toward his watch, and without reaching it or touching it, brought it to him. Whatever powers he possessed could still not be explained, but what was important was that they did not frighten Magda, unlike how they had so many others. If anything, it was what brought them together for had Shaw not taken him as his personal lab rat . . . then perhaps he never would have met Magda.
But fate had brought them together during the darkest of circumstances. They had managed to escape together, and then were married a few years after. And now, they were -- or at least attempting to -- build a life together. It started with marriage, and now the next step was a home where they could raise a family. The only thing he would change about their life, was the fact that he wished his and her parents were in it. But since that was obviously an impossibility, he would honor his mother's memory the best way he knew how. Perhaps that was why despite his burning rage for Shaw, he had not gone after him. He had not hunted him down. Instead, he decided to find whatever semblance of peace this life had to offer, in the company of Magda. And it had worked. Glancing at the time, he moved his watch back on the side table and leaned toward his wife, lightly kissing her cheek before whispering words in her ear. "Good morning."Tag Magda

She was dreaming, and it was such a pleasant dream that when she felt her husband trying to wake her that she almost wanted to protest. Almost. "Good morning." Still, reality was better then any dream could be. Turning to her back, Magda looked up at him, blinking a few times before smiling brightly. "It's not morning," She whispered, "It is a evil trick placed by a trickster, and if we awaken now then he will win with power over us." Reaching up she ran her fingers through his hair.
Her other free hand drifted down to her belly, where it rested over their child that grew there. Magda stretched her legs, knowing he'd get her up no matter the protest--and she playfully protested every morning for Erik was an early riser. Fisting her fingers gently in his hair, she pulled him down for a better morning kiss, letting it softly linger before letting him go. "If you are letting him win, I hope you at least plan to feed me." She teased, as Magda was always hungry.
It had been almost a lifetime since they escaped the camps together, but since then they had become friends, and from friends came lovers, to this life they had now. As much as she loved it, Magda knew that he did not wish to raise a child this way; it was why she had suggested they settle someone. While the idea of foreign to her, she was excited to begin this life with him. Her only demands had been they had a garden. She wanted to be somewhere long enough to try and grow things. . . . besides children!

Erik gave a bit of a smile when she protested waking up. It did not surprise him, but it never failed to amuse him. His smile soon faded as his lips were met with hers, embracing the warm and tender kiss to start their morning off on a bright note. When the embrace reached it's inevitable end, he once again, gave a slight smile as she spoke of feeding her. Of course. Food. Magda quite enjoyed it, particularly since she was carrying a child within her. The thought was still terrifying to Erik. To know that he would be a father, unsure of what this actually involved. But he also knew that Magda had never been a mother before -- obviously. So together, surely they could embrace parenthood and be successful in this new journey that their lives would soon undergo.
"I would not dare think of depriving you of a good hardy breakfast," he told her teasingly. "Especially since you are eating for two," he added. It had only caused her appetite to grow, which was perfectly fine with him. So long as their baby was healthy and they were both doing everything they could to ensure this. He rose from the bed, slipping on his pants and he pulled open the curtains to reveal the bright morning sun. He hoped that today was the day they found a home. That they would not have to live like this, as guests in a hotel. They could not raise a child in this way, and while he may not be familiar with fatherhood, he knew it was his duty as a future father, and a current husband. He then turned to look at Magda once more. "What meal do you crave this morning?" He asked. So that he could plan where to take them.

"I would not dare think of depriving you of a good hardy breakfast," Good! Because she needed food or she felt horrid! Magda rubbed her hands on her belly, and just kept smiling. Being pregnant suited her! Feeling their child grow, having Erik near by. Magda did not even want to think about what might have happened had Erik not escaped with her that day, and he was not in her life. "Especially since you are eating for two," She laughed, "What is the word for two? Two babies at the same time run in my family. You might want to prepare." She teased, even though she knew she'd be bigger then so surely this was only one.
"What meal do you crave this morning?" The same one she craved every morning! Or at least the first of many! "Cherries!" They were her favorite, "Then maybe something with meat, yes?" Moving slowly she walked without dressing to the washing room, and the light came on just moments before she got to the door. Pausing for a moment, she turned to look at Erik, before disappearing into the room. Her powers were still new to her, having come stronger while she was with child.
Washing her face, tending her needs, and walking out, Magda wore a sundress. Moving over to Erik who was facing away from her at the moment, she wrapped her hands around his middle and placed a kiss at his back. "I love the smell of you in the morning."

She presented the possibility of it being twins. Well that, was a lot to process. And not something he chose to do unless it became the reality of their lives. Not that he would love the children any less. He and Magda would find a way to make it work. Though it only reinforced the need to find a home to raise their child -- or children -- in that was suitable. Remaining silent on the matter as he was deep in thought until she answered his next question about wanting cherries. It brought a smile to his lips. Of course she wanted cherries; that was hardly a surprise. He should have known better than to ask. He knew her this well by now. "Cherries and meat; sounds to be a rather enticing combination," he said teasingly to her, though he knew what she meant. He could easily find a place that served both for breakfast. He found his gaze lingering over her as she made her way to the washroom, giving a slight nod when she looked back at him as she used her powers mildly.
The fact that she was like in him that she too possessed rare powers, was rather incredible. It made him believe that they were truly fated to find each other. When she went to freshen up, he reached for a new shirt and pulled it over his head, as well as changing his pants. It did not take her long to emerge from the washroom though without looking at her join him, he felt her wrap her arms around him from behind, stating that she liked the smell of him in the morning. He smiled, turning his head to look at her. "And I love the fact that yours is the first face I see in the morning, and the last I see before I close my eyes." For seeing her before he drifted in a slumber helped ease the nightmares, and awakening to her in the morning was incentive to start the day.

"And I love the fact that yours is the first face I see in the morning, and the last I see before I close my eyes." He told her, leaving Magda laughing softly because she felt the same, and in moments like these she was too pleased with life to not laugh out loud. "Soon you will have another face to see." She teased, "And perhaps even another place to see it in." For they would be looking at homes today. Which was odd and exciting at the same time.
To be in one place, but to know he was always there. Roots. A life. Friends. Letting him go, she sat on the bed and pulled on her boots, while watching him. "Where do we plan on looking today?" She'd leave the home picking mostly to him when it came to where and how strong he felt the house was. She more looked at gardens, and how pretty things were. Which was why Magda followed his lead.
Perhaps they would find something today. If she had to pick where she'd like a home then Magda would pick something near the water, the blue water, not the cold grey lakes of the north. The sea. Bright and beautiful. Far enough from people they would not have to hide their powers, but close enough that they could drive to the city for a day.

Erik smiled at her words. Another face to see. The thought of developing a family, of bringing a life into this world . . . was both exciting and terrifying. But Erik was not one to allow the latter to affect his judgment. Surely, this was how every new parent felt? Still, he could not help but consider how different it would have been, had they both had their own parents to guide them. To instruct them. For his mother and father were the true essence of caring and nurturing companions. Just as Magda's own parents were. "According to you, maybe two more faces," he teased, referencing her former words about potentially having twins. She then asked where the house was.
They had discussed what they both wanted from the home, and Magda had emphasized her desire for a garden. He also wanted privacy, rather than being in the city for should their child have unique gifts . . . he wanted to give him or her the freedom to express it. Rather than be confined by society's standards of 'normal'. "It is a place outside of the city. From what I was told, it has a large front lawn and a backyard." He paused for a moment, a smile forming on his lips. "And yes, a garden," he added, assuming it was a silent question in his mind. It was not a large home, but they did not need one. It would be quaint. Homey. After all, neither of them had ever lived a life of extravagance and Erik did not wish to start now.
