Erik was unsure the discovery had fully processed. It had been prompted by one phrase, spoken by a boy whom he had never seen before. That was all it had taken. Erik had not over thought it for there had been far too much else that needed to be done. But once things had settled a little more, and he had the time to revisit this statement. After all, how many people in the world could there be who could control metal. Erik had not been shy in demonstrating his gift, especially in his younger years. Nor had he held himself back in expressing his needs as a man. Which was what created this situation that he was now unsure how to handle. He had looked into the boy's life, recognizing his other and knowing that his words led to a possibility that he had considered the moment he'd uttered them. So it was true: Erik had a son.
He had let this information settle in his mind for a few days, trying to understand what it meant; what the implications were; whether it would change anything. The boy had an exceptional gift. An incredible one that he clearly had expert control over. But . . . he was unsure he could embrace the role of fatherhood. He did not know what it was to be a father, which was why he had not embraced it before, when Magda had told him that she was with child. How could he embrace it now, over 15 years later when he barley knew the mother of his child, and when his son was mature and . . . possibly resentful. Erik didn't even know if this news should make any difference. Did it really change so much? Could he not just continue on with his life, in a world of denial? So many questions, ones that he deeply pondered over.
He did know that he would have to tell someone in particular before anyone else found out. He could not keep this from her. She deserved to hear the truth and he would rather it be from him, as oppose to a slip up later in the future. It would only worsen his position if she was aware that he'd known this far longer than he had let on. Besides, as previously established, he did not even know what he was going to do with this information. Maybe something. Maybe nothing. He walked to Magda's room, knocking on the door before going inside to see if she was there. This was not going to be an easy conversation, but nor would he show any signs of cowardice by hesitating to be upfront with her. Tag Magda

Magda was walking down the hall when she saw Erik knock on her door and push inside it. Such arrogance, she thought with a smile. Walking in without her telling him he could enter. Not that she minded, for she loved each visit from him. Just as she enjoyed his arrogance. Drawing up to her toes she walked on them to better gain silence as she tried to come up behind him.
Once she was at the door, her arm around around his middle, while she pressed into his back. "Look what I have caught. A rebel hero wondering about all by himself." She teased, walking around him while looking at her 'prize'. "I wonder what I shall do with him?" There was something off with his expression, but she couldn't place it. It wasn't different really, but there was something. In the way he held his body, the minute difference that you couldn't see with an eye, but could feel with your heart.

His eyes searched the room in attempt to find her but was only able to do so when she came up behind him and wrap her arms around him. Saying teasing words about what she she should do with him. Under any other circumstances, he would have welcomed the tease and even returned it. But he knew if he did, then he would not let himself tell her the news until after they found the bed and vigorously expressed their affections for one another. And that was not fair.
He could not do that to her. He watched her as she came around to face him, doing his best to conceal his emotions and act as if everything was ok. But she knew him well. Far too well. "I need to speak to you about something," he told her, wanting her to immediately be aware that this was not him coming to engage in acts of intimacy with her. He had a purpose for being here. And he needed to achieve it without getting distracted. "We should sit down," he added, pulling two chairs toward them with simply a raising of his hand, and waited for her to sit before he did the same.

His words confirmed what she had felt, and Magda wondered what had happened. When he told her they should sit, her back stiffened. Sitting meant it was not an attack by the humans, but something he feared would he hard for her to hear. She hated it when he asked her to sit, because it meant he was going to tell her something. He had asked her to sit when he told her that he could not be Ania's father. When he told her that he was a mutant and she was a human. There had never been a good memory of a conversation that started with Erik asking her to sit down so they could talk.
"Alright," Wishing she could be stubborn and refuse would only delay this, and even while she felt too nervous to sit, and felt stronger while standing, she would sit so he would talk. What could it be? Had someone died? Had something happened that he thought she needed to know about in a not public manner? Sitting, Magda crossed her legs, and folded her hands in her lap, giving Erik her full attention.

She sat and was giving him her full attention. Yet he did not know how to start the conversation. Still, he refused to become flustered or unsure. He had to be direct yet also understanding that this was not something he expected to say and then quickly move on from. He paused for a moment, formulating his thoughts so that they may come out in the form of cohesive and confident words. "Do you recall one of the mutants that broke me out of the Pentagon? He goes by the name of Peter Maximoff, his mutation allowing him to move at incredible speeds." Erik knew in order to explain that, he would have to explain the past, and would need to connect the two together. He was not going to drag this out. He needed to say it all at once.
"Shortly before you and I were reunited for the first time, I had relations with a woman and . . ." It had been for one night and he had never seen her again. However, little did he know what he had left behind. He did not talk about his past intimate encounters with other women for it was never necessary or relevant. But he had to explain to Magda, if she wasn't already connecting the dots, that this happened before he and her were reunited, before their relationship and . . . before Ania. Aware that his words were already creating the link, he decided to just come out and say it. "Magda, Peter is my son."

Erik began talking about the mutant who had aided him in escaping the prison. Magda hoped nothing had happened to the boy two helped him. Had the humans found him? If he was alive they'd be running to get him, not sitting talking. Magda feared she knew where this was going, but she would learn very soon that she was wrong. "Shortly before you and I were reunited for the first time, I had relations with a woman and . . ." Her body froze, and she watched him. Her mind knew before he spoke the words but she didn't want to believe. No. Please no. Don't say it! "Magda, Peter is my son." She couldn't move.
Magda did not even blink for a long moment. Then her eyes blinked once in a slow, almost dazed manner. Her breathing deepen and sped up at slightly at the same time. "I don't . . . . " She felt almost numb, but on the edge of a cliff, like she knew she was too close to the edge but she didn't feel enough to pull herself back. "I don't understand." Because he would have told her about a son before. No! No he was saying something else! The humans had taken his dna from the prison or something. Or . . . .or . . .
Her eyes fell from him as she begin to fully understand. Another woman. Another child. A child that wasn't her's. She had wanted so long to be a mother but Erik had never wanted children. Now he had a son? A son that he'd spoken highly of. A son who was breaking out of prison and . . . and . . . . was his mother a mutant? No, no Erik had said he thought he was alone. The only one of his kind. So she was human. He had a child with a human woman. Like he'd thought Magda was.
After a long moment she begin to feel again, and she wished she hadn't. "Oh." Why was he telling her now after waiting so long? Why come forward now? Had he left the son behind? Had he known? Her eyes looked at her arm, and she tried so very hard to keep any sign of pain, and panic from her face but she knew that in this moment she was back there again.

He carefully watched her reaction, seeing an array of emotions on her face. She seemed to be processing the information, firstly saying that she did not understand. But Magneto did not offer an explanation. Instead, he remained quiet as the words continued to register in her mind. He could see the way she changed, see the shock, to the slow recognition of what he was saying. There was no ambiguity in his words, and they held a strong meaning. Of that, he was entirely aware. She simply said 'Oh', for it seemed it was all she could say in this moment, and he did not blame her. He had told her something rather grand -- especially considering their past with Ania and how she spoke of wanting to be a mother. He had not wanted children, for he did not feel that fatherhood was a calling needed to be achieved in his life.
He too remained silent for several moments, thinking of what would be most relevant to say in this moment. He could not apologize for this, for what would an apology do? "I did not know," he said, finding those words to be the most important ones. When she had been pregnant, he had planned to find her people and ensure she was with others like her who could help take care of her and the child. He had been too obsessed with finding Shaw, and could not care for a child along the way. So he needed her now to know that he had been completely unaware of Peter's existence until recently. It was such a bizarre coincidence. Of all the mutants, of all the instances, it had to be Peter and it had to be him breaking Magneto out of prison. "I had never seen her again after that night. I just recently found out the truth about Peter." He was unsure if that made it better, but it certainly could not make it worse.

"I did not know," He told her, and that explained more of what happened. Before he had met her, again, he had fallen in bed with a human woman and then never looked back. While she knew there had been others, and she'd not been hinderly jealous, find out that there was a child was different. It changed everything. The one question she wanted him to answer, he wasn't even hinting on. "oh." She said, just to see if he would continue, even while she only wanted to leave the room. Go somewhere she could be weak and cry.
"I had never seen her again after that night." She'd assumed, but Magda also knew how he'd react if he had known. He's still have walked away. She had dealt with her hurt over the past, and while it was a sore place in her heart; Erik's actions were not something that cause major in balance between them. Now however everything was different. Because he had the child she had wanted. He had it with another.
"I just recently found out the truth about Peter." Her lips parted wider when he said the name, and she could feel it. The ripping that broke her heart. His son had a name. Her hands shook, and Magda balled them into fists. Still she could not look at him, even when her vision blurred and she begin to feel the tears she could no longer hold back trail over her cheeks. The place on her arm that held her daughter's name burned. That woman's child had lived and her's had died. The human woman had everything Magda had wanted. Yet it was not bitterness toward the woman that she felt, it was only heart break for herself.
And still Erik had not hinted at any of the important questions. How he'd found out. How long he'd known. What did he plan to do now? In a way she wished he could read her mind, so she never had to ask the words allowed. Yet she was grateful he could not. There was only one question that would effect anything right now, the other two would only make it hurt more. "And now?" She could not say more. Even these two words were hard to get out of her lips without them trembling. Somehow, even with the tears on her cheeks, her voice had been steady.
And now what? What would he do? Bring his son here? Was he warning her that she would come face to face with him? Telling her so she would not react in public?

He could see the tears in Magda's eyes and he wished he could do something to comfort her. Yet he knew his words were not helpful. Yet they needed to be said. He often chose honestly over comfort in the sense that even if he knew the truth would hurt, it was better revealed than withholding it. This was one such instance. It did not mean he felt no sympathy for seeing her so saddened by his words. She then asked a question that was difficult to answer. And now. He was not sure. In fact, he had no idea what to do with this news. Could he live in ignorance, pretending that it changed nothing . . . that it meant nothing. Or did he embrace it, find Peter, and let himself be a part of the boy's life. "I am unsure," he admitted to her, unafraid to reveal that he had not mapped out his next course of action. While he was used to planning everything, this had completely thrown him off -- even though he had known about it for a few days now.
"My views on fatherhood have not drastically changed," he told her. Meaning, he still did not know what it was to be a father. It was not a role he could automatically assume. But at the same time, Peter was of a mature age. He had broke Magneto out of the prison that day for the thrill of it; to use his powers for something that created adventure. For he had nothing else to gain from it. Logan and Charles had not offered him monetary compensation; only the reward of adrenaline, danger, and thrill. That, could very well be something to entice him toward Magneto's cause. Yet he knew that was his more political oriented mind just shrouding the truth. Peter was his son, and he was unsure he would ever fully understand the magnitude of that. "I have no immediate plans of informing Peter or his mother about this." Informing Peter that he was his father, and Regina that Magneto knew he was the father. "What fills your mind?" He asked, wondering what she thought, how she felt about all this. Getting an idea of what else he could tell her to help make better this situation that he feared would cause a strain on their relationship.

"I am unsure," Which meant that there were options, and he was trying to take them all in. It meant that he could give her nothing but this torment, and not give her any idea about what would come next. Just this horrid unknown for her future. It was almost worst then him telling her that he planned to claim his child and bring him here. Almost. "My views on fatherhood have not drastically changed," But they had changed? So he might one day decide he could embrace his son?
But not his daughter? "I have no immediate plans of informing Peter or his mother about this." Which left the question of how he found out, but that wasn't one she was willing to ask right now. Because even speaking was hard. "What fills your mind?" Yet he would not even give her, her own silence as her shield. What was she thinking? She was thinking that she was here in this life clinging to a man who would never love her, and now he had what she wanted most, but with another.
Taking in a slow deep breath to make sure that her voice would be steady when she spoke, Magda tried to think about what to tell him. "I am thinking . . . " Pausing, Magda tried to think of something to say. Something that could give him an answer without putting more of herself out there for him to hurt. " . . . that whatever you decide to do, you know the Brotherhood will support your decision." Them, not her. Because she wasn't sure what this meant for her right now. "And that I need a drink." Pushing to her feet, Magda walked over to the trolly and pour her a small glass of Erik's scotch. Turning so she was looking back at him, "How did you gain this knowlage?"

He waited eagerly to hear what was on her mind, and she spoke words that were . . . well, they were not quite what he had expected to hear. Though he wasn't even quite sure what he had expected her to say. She said that The Brotherhood would support his decision, and he did not dispute that, but nor was it his primary concern right now. "It is not the Brotherhood that I am telling this to," he told her. It was her. Because he valued her opinion. He valued her. He was not generalizing this, telling her because he trusted her. While he did, there were many other reasons that he was bringing this to her, before even considering revealing it to anyone else -- should he decide to do so. He watched her as she got up to get a drink, finding her words and actions slightly unfamiliar yet knowing that if he was in her place, he would have done the very same thing. He continued to look at her as she asked him how he gained this knowledge.
"While he was breaking me out, we had a moment on the elevator where he spoke words of his mother having known someone who could control metal." It was rather interesting, to know that Peter's mother spoke of Erik, enough for him to recall a person she knew who could control metal. "With all else happening at that time, I did not dwell on his words. But after everything had settled, I found myself curious about them, unable to ignore them." Because he had a feeling. A strange, nagging, indescribable feeling with him. And he had learned to trust his instinct. "I looked into Peter's life, and came to discover who his mother was." Having recognized her name, and done the math . . . "I knew then. I just, knew." How could he explain that? Was it a parental instinct, that one just knew when a child was theirs? Once again, he was not going to overly explain that part of it, for he did not want to hurt her at the reminder of the loss of their own child.

"It is not the Brotherhood that I am telling this to," Did he not plan to tell them? Any other time she'd be honored to be seen as someone better then them in his eyes but today she didn't care. She didn't care! She did care! She did and he was just sitting there all calm while her heart was breaking! Erik never gave more then that, unless it was in bed when he opened to her more. Yet when it came to his emotions he just sat there! Magda wanted the trow the drink at him but at the same time she knew she was lashing out.
"While he was breaking me out,..." What? "I knew then. I just, knew." Magda thought back over everything, slowly taking in everything that these words said. He'd had an idea, even if he'd not know for sure, for a while. He was only coming to her now. Turning from him, Magda tried to hold back what that meant, but instead her shoulders shook, as a sob came up from her.
He just knew. A father would just know! A father! He had known it was his son. Magda couldn't hold back a second body shaking cry at that thought, but then she sucked in a deep breath and held it, before slowly letting it go. Turning she faced him, "Such is the right of any parent. To know their child." One she had been denied.

She turned away from him, but as he was watching her intently, he could see a sob escape, strong enough to cause her shoulders to move. He had no idea what she was thinking, but he could imagine. She spoke of how such is the right of any parent to know their child. And while it was a right he may have, it was not necessarily the best thing to do. It would pose many complications, creating complex situations that Magneto was unsure he would be equipped to deal with. He could strategize against humans, counter and lead attacks . . . but this was his son. It changed the dynamic of, well, everything that would occur between him and the boy. The thought of contacting him had entered his mind after things had been settled, but before he knew Peter was of his own blood. It was what prompted him to delve into the boy's history, and find out more about him. Thus, making this discovery.
Erik rose to his feet, walking over to her until he was standing in front of her. He then moved his arms so that they wrapped around her, pulling her close to his chest. He was unsure if she would pull away from his touch, but this was all the comfort he could give her. All he knew how in such a situation. He was not overly expressive of his emotions. He tended to keep himself guarded. So he was seldom the one to initiate such a hug, unless it was made in a teasing way. This time however, he felt the need to do it. If not only for her, then for them both. He did not know what the future held, but he knew he wanted her in it. She was in his past, and he wanted to keep her in his present, and the future.

Erik said nothing. Nothing! Instead he stood and began walking toward her, even reaching for her. Magda took a half step back, and shook her head but Erik still pulled her toward him and embraced her in a hug. Erik never offered this sort of emotional support. He would protect her, show pride or disappointment. Even favoritism at times. Yet he never offered this type of emotional support.
It was also not lost on her that she had once yelled at him for not holding her when she needed it, and here over a decade later he was trying . . . yet if felt almost too late. Being with him was not easy. She loved a man who would never express his feelings or give her anything about the future between them. She'd had to take it on faith that he would be with her. And she had--she'd trusted him. Yet right now, with this news, Magda felt almost betrayed. By life. By fate, and eve in some small part by Erik, even though she knew this had happened before her and he'd no control.
She stood stiffly in his arms, wishing she could just hold him. WANTING to just hold him. The lights flickered from her emotional connection to her powers. Her shoulders shook as she silently tried not to cry. After a moment she reached up to put her hands on his ribs, and used them to push back gently from him; stepping back a few steps. She didn't look at him, her eyes lowered and to the side. She couldn't even look up toward him. "Please let me know any decisions that you make toward the boy." Her tone was distant, almost sounding like him at times. Formal. "I need time to think. If you could, please, shut the door on the way out."
