Why was she here? Lana stood off to the side, watching the protesters out side of a congressman's office. Some voting for a new law or order was happening and everyone wanted a say. On one side there was the anti mutants, and just a dozen or two feet the other way was the mutants.
She guessed she wanted to see it. To look at their faces and try to see why they hated mutants. Only here, now being so close, she felt more fear from the crowd then hate. Only this wasn't the bow down and run fear--it was the dangerous fear. The slightly violent need to protect and defend. A chilling reminder of how quickly a mob could go from this to an outbreak of a deadly riot.
Then she felt it. It started with an awareness up her spine. The rise of her pulse. The adrenaline beginning to drip in her veins. Someone felt something else. An eagerness. Anticipation. The edgy excitement of something about to happen. Lana backed away but couldn't make herself run. The tide was about to turn.

Pyro was not happy about this. As if 'the cure' hadn't caused enough damage, they still wanted to offer it to those who were willing. After everything that it had caused, all the destruction it had created... and of course, the immorality of it. The very name of it implied that they had something that needed curing, when what they had was a way to kill humans! That was something Pyro had learned and lived by during his time in the Brotherhood. While he still believed that the Brotherhood existed, somehow, he was currently in his own little gang of those who survived the battle. He was still looking for their leader, but as it seemed he was injected with the 'cure'... well, didn't look like they'd be getting Magneto back any time soon.
Still, Pyro had learned too much and done too much to just hide in a corner. Which was why he was here today, now. Wearing a flamethrower at each wrist, he stood in front of the building, protestors all around while the police were there trying to manage the enthusiastic crowd. Pyro turned to his lead and gave a little nod. A few mutants went that way. He turned to his right and did the same, a couple went that way. He wasn't going to stand here with lame ass signs and protest. He was going to make more of a statement. In one quick motion he flicked his flamethrower, creating a ball of fire in each hand which he immediately thrust forward, targeting and successfully hitting the building as the people began to cry and panic ensued, with them running in every which direction.
Now, they were talking. Now, this was really a protest.

Lana could not pin point the emotion in the crowd until she felt the fear jump. That was when she saw it! Fire! Not coming from any weapon but a boy! "Bloody hell!" She muttered taking a step backwards, as he set fire to the building! Everyone began to panic, and some panic was turning into a fear fueled rage--just as she knew it would happen. Her eyes looked on, wide with the fear she could not help but to feel with everyone so close.
Stepping closer, Lana held out her hand, and used her powers to help calm the rowdiest ones. The fire boy, the few with him, the humans who were about to start a fight back. Everyone began running away, and Lana tried to hold the emotions down--but with so many, and her own emotions hindering her, she knew that she could not stop it for long. She also knew that she would be noticed standing here like this.
