It as what he was known by, but not what he was asking her to call him. It was his way of answering while telling her nothing. He went on to ask what name she went by. "Isabelle." She told him, "I wanted a name that couldn't be traced to my past or . . . or you." Because she was still afraid of the path he was on then, and what might happen if the men found her again and wanted to use her as his weakness.
"Isabelle Erikson." Magda had always tired to be as honest as she could with him, which was why she supplied the last name too. "Because apart of me was unwilling to let you go completely." So she had taken his name as her own, and gone into the world to hide from her powers, his path, and her history. But there would be no more hiding.
"You never told me which you prefer. Only what is used more often." She needed to know. Was her Magneto the general to her, or Erik the man.

She saved him there? It wasn't enough. She wanted to so ever so much more for him. Return the favor of risking his life for her own. "I only wish I had been braver, and could have done more." Like he had, by risking his life for the change that she might not die right then.
And to answer his later question, "Everywhere. I never stay still. There would be too many places to name." A night here, a night there. Keep moving, keep hiding, keep looking for him. "Still, there is much to see." Her fingers ran over his skin where they were still touching. "What about you? Gadjo aren't really known for being vagabonds. What do you do for a job? Where do you call home?"

"And I tired so very hard to give it to you," She teased him, keeping her voice down, "But you are a hard man to persuade." His need to hunt down his past, out weighted the need to stay in their bed. She knew that he wasn't indifferent toward her, but she also knew that he would never be swayed from his hunt.
"Bread! Yes! Let us find some bread with something baked in it." That sounded wonderful, "Perhaps some raisins, or nuts, or barriers!" Magda had spent too many years hungry to miss a chance to eat. She loved foods! She loved to try everything, and was always trying to make him feed her. Moving away from him she walked toward the stalls with the fresh breads and begin trying to pick which one. As she reached for one, the vender's hand came out to grasp her wrist, 'You sort better have money before coming by here.' He demanded in a harsh tone. Her sort. Gypsies. Magda pulled at her wrist once but he didn't let go, she she tugged harder and pulled free. "I want nothing from you."

As they walked through the halls he told of her Toad. She found it a fitting and an odd name still. However she understood that it wasn't his birth name but one he choose to go by. "Toad." She repeated, "Magneto." Again a name he choose to go by. Isabelle was who she had hid behind but it wasn't a name she would go by any longer. "Is that what I should call you now?" Magneto.
It was the name the world knew him by, the one they used the most even though his other name was common knowlage. Her name was not. The company who had her only knew her as Isabelle Erikson, and not by her real name. They could not have learned of her past. "It seems none of us call our selves by the old names any longer. It has been over ten years since anyone called me Magda."

No. He answered and then dismissed it as quickly as he had done so. It left her unable to decided what that meant. He offered to show her to her room, and turned away from her. Blinking, she turned to look over the bedroom and found that it was his. She had not overly thought about it until now. He had taken her here, rather then anywhere else in this large estate. Her eyes fell to the bed, and she wondered how many followers loved him enough to offer to join him there. He was handsome, brave, and was a force of nature that drew others toward him. It would be only natural for the ones drawn to him to want to join him here.
Standing she went with him toward the door. "Thank you." For giving her a place to stay, for helping her escape, for not giving up on her, not not hating her and casting her out, for her head. "For everything, Erik." She was sure it was a common feeling that many had toward him. "And I am sorry," For just as much as she was grateful for.
Not wanting to linger on things she tried to change the topic while they walked. "How many have joined you here?" How large was his army.

He declined her offer, but offered her money. She knew she should feel like a kept woman, but the fact that he stole from the gadjo made her enjoy helping him spend it--even if he was one of them himself. "I still have coin enough from yesterday." She told him, not wanting to take more then was needed. Her people tended to barter more then take money any how, as traveling between countries made money worthless after leaving.
As the lift came to the bottom, she exited and walked with him toward the door and began the short walk toward the market. Once there she paused at a stall to look over some cherries. "I am going to come back for some of them later. They looked good." But nor did she want to carry them all day. "What do you crave . . . for breakfast?" She asked him, leaving a double meaning in her tone.

"I owe you my life, Erik, and to me that is not nothing." It was the greatest thing she had. "And I did not ask to offer you a reward, I offered because there was once when you were the only friend I had, and even still today you mean the world to me. The memory of you, and your kindness, your bravery, was what help me over come a lot of things in my life. . . . and I want to return the favor."
He had also asked her what she would do next, but she didn't know. Right now she was not thinking of beyond the next hour, beyond the time stolen here with him in this room. "I do not know." Magda admitted, "Stay here for as long as you are. Try to see you some more if you have time. Then go wherever I feel like." Her tone turned teasing, "It's not in my blood to stand still too long. I want to see the world."

"I would like to stay here." She told him, "With you." Where she felt safe. "And the others, too of course. As apart of your Brotherhood." Magda wanted to learn to use her powers to help mutants, like Erik had twice helped her. Though she doubted in how much use she would be in a fight; today proved she wasn't helpless. "I want to learn. I want to learn to not be afraid. I want to feel strong, as I did once." When she was by his side. Before Anya died.
He had offered to help her, and said he could better keep her safe here. "Is there . . . is there no one here who would care I was here?" She asked, not caring if it made her sound weak. She needed to know if she should steal herself for a beloved wife to come in and kiss him. She could still stay here, but she wanted to know if she should prepare herself.
Never once had she forgotten him, or their daughter. Even when she hid, she did so with him in mind. Erikson. His name, taken as her own. Because while he could not be with her, she wanted to hold even something so small to her. She could not abandon the memories of their months together--even so very many years later.

Without moving he pulled a coin from his pocket and moved it to his hand, resting it in the palm, as a way of confirming his powers were still apart of him. He also confirmed that he had not let the past go, but was seeking it out. Seeking HIM out. Her hands tightened while not looking away from the coin. "I had hoped to hear of his death." She admitted, knowing that if he was alive he could be out there doing it to someone else right now.
Looking from the coin, and up to his face, Magda realized he was going to kill him. Apart of her wished to tell him not too, but she knew it wasn't her place. She was still a stronger to him in anyways, even if they shared a profound past. "Just do not let is destroy you in the process." She asked of him. "For I like to know that you are alive, and out in the world somewhere. That not everything precious dead in that evil place."
Using her hands to wrap his fingers around the coin, she lifted his hand up and kissed his knuckles. "I never did thank you for what you did for me, and please know if you ever need anything you can come to me. I will do whatever I can to help you."

She had known he would not come with her, for he was looking every day. Still she made sure to always phrase her words so he would know that while she welcomed his company, she did not expect him to drop everything and join her. Magda knew that if she ever put that pressure on him, then she might not like the outcome. She could lose him. Forever was a hard work for either of them to use, but she wanted to think this wasn't just something that would end soon.
"I will be waiting for you here." She promised, knowing that she could not offer to join him later. Walking out, she waited while he locked the door before walking with him to the lift. "I might take some of the clothes down to the wash, if I do not find anyone I know. Would like me to take yours as well?" Get him some thing clean.

He told her it was his pleasure, and kissed her. It left her smiling, as she pulled on her jacket, and boots. "I saw some wagons yesterday on my way back here. I want to try to find them. See if there is anyone I know with them." And there was more, but the only secret she kept from him was of the change that she might be like him--and she only kept that one because she didn't want to admit it to herself. "If they are people like me, I want to see what herbs they carry. See if I can find any ginger root." Good for an unset belly.
Magda ran her fingers through her hair to settle it, and waited for him to get ready. They so different. He dressed more formally, and she looked apart of her people. His clothes was clean, sharp and of the latest styles; while her clothing was worn, and bulky in places--and full of colors. "You do not have to help me, I will be find on my own . . . though I will not turn down the company if you wish to join me anyway."

Magda could tell that he did not wish to speak of his life, and the details of it. For it he only gave her the quick detainees story. Still she could understand for if anyone had asked her the same question he had done, then her answer would have been the same. She escaped with aid of another prisoner, and lived as best she could int he shadow of a war.
His words of losing his humanity hurt her, and she bit her lip to keep from showing just how much. Then he moved closer, and asked what she saw. Instead of looking at his hand, she wrapped both of her's around his, and looked into his eyes. "I do not need to read the lines of your palm to know that you've not escaped what he did to you. Nor do I need it to know that you are dead inside, Erik--" For she assumed that was what he meant with his words on losing his humanity. "--I could see that part is not true, because of how you look at me."
"You're alive." Letting his hand go, she moved her hands to his cheeks, wanting him to hear her words however much he would. "That is the first step to beating it, to stay alive. The rest you can gain with time." Her hands dropped back down to his, and after a few seconds she turned his palm to her gaze.
She traced his lifeline, the largest and deepest line of the palm. Looking back up at him she spoke again, "There is much anger here." She'd learn to read what a palm said about a person, and how to phrase things to make it seem like she could see their life there. Small cuts, how rough a palm might be or even how soft. All said something. Tracing toward his finger, leaving the lines behind she looked over the pad of his finger. "You've not let go." Looking up at him, she held his hand tighter, unwilling to loose the contact. "He wanted you because of your powers. Do you . . . are they . . . still apart of you?" His fingers did not look like he's spent his life working, toiling in manual labor. Which meant he could be using them still to keep from doing it on his own.

"No, I am not." Magda admitted, "We were not longer a people. Just a small group of us. Every now and then someone would leave or join us. We no longer traveled were their was work and money but ran in fear. When I was able I too left . . . and even among us there was darkness." Her words trailed off as she looked away and stared at the floor for a long few moments, then she shivered before pulling her arms around her. Evil was everywhere it seemed.
"I travel alone now mostly, sometimes join us with others going the same way. I will set up a booth sometimes to make money, reading palms, or telling the future--whatever the locals will foolishly believe I am telling--and when I find good herbs I can make some things to sell. It's not a perfect life, but I needed to do somethings before I could try to move on." Mainly find him, though looking for him had not controlled her life, it had dominated her decisions of where she went, and how long she stayed.
Looking at him, she knew her question would be a hard one. "What happened to you after I left?" She asked, before adding on, "I was so afraid I'd find that they'd killed you for helping me. I begged them to help you escape too but they just pulled me and ran with me."

When was he not? That was a very good question, but not one she lingered on because as it always did his kiss distracted her from thinking. It was almost hard to believe--their story. He had saved her from death, and then years later he had found her; and they had began whatever this was. Magda had fallen in love with him, and his sure he was. His charm and charismatic way of speaking about things passionately. He thought her human--NO! She was human! Which only made the softness toward her more meaningful, for she could tell that he did not like many that he saw as human.
He broke the kiss, and used one hand to have his pants come toward him. It was becoming easier to not pause or stare when he used them so casually before her. Sometimes she even enjoyed the sight, but it still reminded her of their past. What had been done to him because of that evil man knowing of his gifts. What could happen to him again.
Reaching up with her hand, Magda brushed his hand down, before stealing a kiss on his temple, and rising from the bed. Not bothering to cover herself she walked to where her skirt was, and wrapped it around her waist, binding it off so it stayed. "Will you join me for breakfast at least? We can go to that market down on third. Pick up some things, and part ways afterwards?" Pulling on her shirt, she watched him dress as well. Then she was going to see about some herbs to settle hr belly which still felt a bit unsteady.

"The only way for them to learn from the past, is to solidify our future." She wasn't sure how that worked, but she believed he knew better then her by this point. For she had hid from the world while he took it head on. "Do not hide anymore." She didn't have a choice. "There is no need to." The need was there, but her will was not. She'd not hide, even if she could. Magda was done letting history repeat.
"For our time is coming. In fact, it is already here. To unite, stand strong against persecution and oppression." Was it so simple? Yet she knew he was speaking of what could be another war, when the last one was horrible. Yet this proved that humans would say one thing, and do another when it came to them. Promote peace, fire Trask, but then let other companies do what he'd done.
"Whether you are Magda--" Her lips parted, as she inhaled a silent gasp at being called her real name. No one had called her that in so many years. More then ten. Hearing it now, made being here with him so much more real. He was speaking on her not hiding her self, but she had. Had hid everything for fear of everything. "Likewise, you should not deny your gifts. You should use them. Be proud of them. Accept them."
"Embrace them. Embrace who you are, Magda. And do not be afraid of what makes you stronger than any human could possibly be." After a lifetime of fear and hiding, how did she embrace what she hid from? Because she must. Because there was no other choice if she wished to be alive. Because silence and doing nothing only got others killed.
Looking away from him and at the floor, she lifted her hand and touched her head where he had used his own powers effortlessly to tend her. He could be strong enough to lift a stadium, but gentle enough to do it without hurting more then it already would. He had embraced everything about himself, while she'd hid it. Her tone was soft when she first spoke, "The only thing needed for the trump of evil, is the silence of good men." It was a quote, by someone's who's name she didn't know. Looking back at him, her tone was no longer soft and it sounded sure of what she was saying and what she wanted. "And I will be silent no longer."
Yet she did not know how to be strong like he was. "Might I stay here?" She asked, knowing she'd need help, "With your people." She clarified because suddenly for the first time since she saw it it hit her--Erik was before her. For the first time in years she was looking at his hansom face. His strength that had always made her feel safe was encasing her now. Yet she knew nothing about his life, on a personal nature. He could have a wife that might be displeased at his former lover staying under his roof. "Or back were you left the others." She added on, a bit more unsure at what would be expected from her now--as one of his followers.

Magda became aware that he was trying to escape their bed, and she blinked opened her eyes before a sleepy smile took over her face. "No," She moaned, tightening her arm around him before he could go further, though it was futile. "That is not the sun, it is but a bright street lamp trying to trick us." Teasing to make him stay for a little longer, though she knew he was an earlier riser, and that he would continue looking for the man he hated. He never would let it go. While she understood his inability to let it go, for she had seen what he had done; the idea of revenge was one she did not. Because she loved him, she did not try to stop him. And she did love him, though Magda never said the words to him, not sure how he'd feel about them.
She saw it as her job to remind him of the living, and how they were more important then his death mission. As he sat up, so dd she, moving over the bed so that when he sat on the edge, she knelt behind him, both her arms around him; pressing her front to his back, and her teeth nipping the skin just below his ear. She felt her belly roll, like it had over the past few days but thankfully this time it settled. Resting her chin on his shoulder she looked toward the window. "You have let the evil street lamp win." She teased in a quite sleepy voice, before giving him a light head budge with her own, "I hope you are pleased with yourself."

He didn't react to her words, only tended her wound while leaving the silence hanging. "You should have told me." Yet she knew that should have and would have were two of life's biggest mistakes. "Why did you not?" Magda wanted to wait for him to finish before speak, knowing the silence was worse then her answer but not wishing to have this conversation while he wasn't looking at her--yet he had asked, and she owed him an answer.
"I was afraid." She had seen what they did to him, and was afraid. "I can--" She took a slow deep breath, never having said these words out loud. "I can control electronic things. Which is ironic for who I am." Or who she was, for she was no longer that girl. Or no longer wished to be her. "When we met again, you were the only other I knew who had powers. I didn't even know for sure that was what I had. Just odd things happening. Radio turning off before I could reach for the nob. The lights going brighter as we . . . . " Enjoyed being young.
"It wasn't until. . . . " Reaching up she pulled his hand from his work, not wanting him to injure her because of her next words. "It wasn't until Anya died that they were more then small things." Anya, their would be daughter who had been taken from them. "I had lied to my self until then. Said it wasn't me. Made excuses. I wanted it to be over. I didn't . . . " Her eyes watered, and she paused to keep her voice clear. To keep it strong. "I didn't want to live in fear. If no one knew . . . if I never said it out loud then what happened to you could never happen to me."
She looked at him, not knowing if he hated her for the lies. Or if he could ever understand. "When I became pregnant I was afraid. I didn't wish this on my daughter, and when she died . . . " the tears fell. "I felt guilty for my thoughts. I hated myself for failing her. I was so angry that my powers came in stronger."
"I could have came to you then. Admitted what happened but you were set on finding . . . him." If she'd told him he might have asked her to go with him. Worse she might have said yes. Her tone went from saddened to angry, though not at him. For them. For their race and his life and what had been done to everyone. "I wanted to hide and never think of this again. I went to America, took a new name to protect me from my past. Lived a small life, did everything I was supposed too . . . but it didn't matter! They still found me! It's still happening again, no matter how far I run or hide!"
The killing, the hate, the testing on innocent people just to understand what was different. "I wanted to hate you for not being able to let the past go. I wanted too! I saw you on tv and they made you look the villain but you knew. You knew better then the rest of us. That they would not learn from the past. They would only repeat it!"

Magda waited for her mind to steady, and rubbed her palms on her shirt covered thighs to try to steady herself for thinking of these things. "My mother died earlier in our . . . . in the camp." Shifting in the chair she couldn't look at him while she spoke, "That last day, my father was among the first to be lined up and shot." She could still his his body jerk and fall. "So one of the men who was his friend pulled me out after you stopped the bullet. There was chaos, and confusion. We managed to get out."
She wondered if he had seen her begging her own people to get him too. "They couldn't even get the others out. Only use few." Because they were close enough to make a run for it. "We hid. Left the country, and hid. Never stayed in one place. We were always afraid. Always hungry."
But she was moving on to better times, and her body relaxed some. "I left when I was able, as many did. I went back." Her eyes lifted to his, "But when I got there my people were just names on a wall, and you and all traces of what they were doing to you and the others were gone. So whenever I hear of another wall, or list of new names; I go looking for you. Always praying that I would find something."
"Instead you found me."

Erik pulled her hand away, and she looked into his face while he looked over her. What was going on in his head? She didn't think he'd be upset over her asking him too kill, but the rest of it. The rest of it was sure he would be angry over. She'd lied to him, of sorts. Kept so much from him during their time together and . . . and after.
He lead her to a bedroom, one she wondered if it was his. Magda moved to sit down, but her eyes didn't look away from him. "Erik," She said his name softly, but not weakly. Waiting until he looked at her, making eye contact before she spoke again. "Thank you for saving my life, yet again." It was really the first thing she'd really said to him in years. So many years.

A few weeks! That was wonderful! Perhaps she could ask him to spend some of that time with her? She could stay here that long, and get a glimpse into his life, however much he let her. "Perhaps some of that time can . . . we could see each other again while you're here if you are not busy." He might be here for work, and he might not have much time.
His next words made her forget about however much time they did or didn't have together. "You stole the words right from my head, Erik." For she too could not think of what to say. "I always imagined finding you and asking you so very many things. Yet now here, with you . . . I find my self forgetting every question I wished to ask."
Glancing around the room, her eyes came back to his. "And to be honest . . . some I am afraid to ask." Because she knew the memories would not be ones they wanted to think about. They were dark and cold. The only light in her memories was of him. "Perhaps I should start by telling you of what happened after you saved my life." It would encourage him to talk too. Glancing at the chair, she gestured toward the other one so they could get comfortable. She was used to the outside warmer air, so when she sat, her arms pulled closer to her from the slight cool she felt.
