Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION Erik knew this day would eventually come. Despite his willingness to choose a life of peace, he was fully aware that his kind -- mutants -- would not have that same choice. He had been in touch with previous and existing members of the Brotherhood. Tensions were rising and mutants were in danger. Many wanted to fight back, wanted to join a cause to fight for their rights . . . but they were leaderless. So many mutants had died, so many still captured, and the Brotherhood was ready to make its return. It was a faction that Magneto had created yet one he had left behind so that he could be with his family. Yet, his conscience tugged at those in danger, and now, he knew he had to make that difficult choice.
He had spoken to Magda about it and he was well aware that a conversation was needed between him and his daughter too. They had protected Nina from his past. While she knew her father was a mutant; a man who controlled metal, she did not know the extent of it. And today, she was going to find out. Erik was currently standing in the kitchen, deep in thought when he heard the door open. Magda was going to give them the privacy to have a chat; truth was, he didn't even know how to broach this subject. He made his way over to Nina to greet her. "Nina," he said with a faint smile.

Nina bounced into the house and stopped, took a few steps back, and took off her shoes before bouncing deeper into the house. She walked to the refrigerator and pulled out a reusable water bottle before walking into the family room and sitting it down. Nina loved working outside and in the garden, and especially with the animals. She wasn't old enough to go to college yet but she already knew what she wanted and where she wanted to go!
Nina knew that with her gifts she could help make the world a better place one animal at a time. She wanted to work with animals and help make their lives better. She would go to school in america and become a vet. It was her plan, and even though it was a few years off she was trying her best to get ready. Right now that meant she was practicing her reading in English to make sure she could keep up with school in a few years.
Her father came in as she was about to get settled and she smiled up at him. "Hey, Papa," she greeted in Polish, moving to kiss his cheek. Nina could tell by his tone that he was going to day more, so she paused before trying to get comfortable to read a little. She loved her father, and her life. She would miss both dearly when she left but she knew she needed to do something with her powers to help create a world she saw in her heart.

Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION Erik adored his daughter's energy. Her pleasant nature. It was something she most definitely got from her mother. Knowing her routine and what she was about to do, he moved to sit next to her on the couch. This conversation was inevitable, having known that this life could not last forever. At least with him in it.
"Do you have a minute? I need to talk to you about something very important." He would often first ask about her day, get updated with all those she had spoken to, find out the goings on of their quaint home and small town. But, not this time. This time, he needed to get right to it since time was limited. And, there was a great deal to explain to her. The only question was: where to begin.

When Papa sat on the couch, Nina followed suit and turned her body so she was facing him with her legs drawn up on the seat she was in. They curled under her with her book on her lap, but her full attention was on her father. This was the type of family they were. They gave their whole self to each other, and she loved it! Not all families were like that, and that had been hard to understand when she was younger, but now that she was older she'd learned to value it.
Family was something her parents valued more then anything, so it was easy to learn. Family first. "Yes, go ahead," She told him, wondering what ti could be. She wondered if something had happened, but had her father's ability to wait to find out. Her mother was the type to want things to happen quicker, while her and Papa had this calming ability to wait for things. They both loved her mother's excitement though! Resting her hands casually in her lap, Nina let her father have the space to say what was on his mind. Something that was apparently very important, so she gave it her full attention.
