Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION It was finally time to go back. Magneto had been gone for years, ever since fleeing to Poland with his wife and daughter. Their deaths, still fresh wounds that he doubted would ever truly heal. However, the path that Apocalypse set him upon was a dangerous one. One that he knew he would regret. But then, hadn't it always been the way? He would act in anger and rage whenever someone was taken from him? Fate seemed to be doing a good job of it . . . for now, there were very few people left that he loved.
His return was even more delayed when the government wished to speak to him. He knew it could be a trap, but more what did he have to lose at this point? They were relieving him of his charges of assassinating the President, and recognizing his part in saving the human race. No doubt, Charles had something to do with this when it came to convincing the authorities -- with or without his powers.
Nevertheless, Erik would not challenge these things. Furthermore, he was being given land, as his own home held far too many painful memories. Land that they could live on, that was rightfully theirs. It did seem like the start of a new chapter, and reminded Magneto that there were still mutants who suffered. And there were still mutants of the Brotherhood.
After being given the coordinates and more information, he made his leave, immediately returning to what was once the headquarters. It would now be a new place. A new home. A new start. He full well it would take some sorting out and wasn't even certain how many remained. Though, what he had not expected . . . was the sight he was about to walk into. He heard an unfamiliar voice urging another to shoot and once Magneto waved the door open, he entered the threshold just in time to see the bullet flee the gun, his hand raised to stop it.
Suddenly, all fell silent, and all eyes were upon him. He looked at the unfamiliar green haired woman. Without a word he let the bullet fall to the ground, the sound so strongly heard due to the intense silence that filled the room. Mangeto said nothing. He just looked at the green haired woman, his expression fixed upon her with the silent unspoken question of: what is going on here.

Most days it felt like she had to prove herself to everyone. Her parents didn't want her, no one ever really had. Even here she had like MAYBE one person she call a friend. As long as they weren't standing behind her, and stood where she could see them. She wanted friends, but most then that she wanted respect. And there was always one way to get it--you were the biggest dog in the fight.
"Do. It." Lorna said, her fingers twitching as she grinned in anticipation. Her powers were growing quicker, and using less effort to use the more then played around and after seeing other mutants stopping bullets--Lorna had a new goal for herself! Her thumb ran over her finger tips. "Do! It!" She demand, waiting for the crack of the gun. Finally they lifted it up and---They all went side ways! For a moment Lorna could feel the tug of her powers with her, before the moment was over. "Who the flying fuuu---" Well shit.
No one moved for a moment. They all knew who he was but for the moment no one here had actually met him. Deciding she would speak for the others, before they could, Lorna walked up slowly to Magneto. "I almost had that!" She had meant to explain they were training but his expression was all to familiar--he probably already disapproved. While her words were angry, she didn't like disapproval.

Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION Magneto watched the young woman as she angrily spoke of how she almost had it. He didn't know what her powers were yet he was confident in his next statement. "I'm sure you can do much better." Than trying to stop a bullet from a gun. Though, he could not deny the striking familiarity of the scene. For he too had done something very similar, though in his case, Charles had not been able to fire.
"You all can," he added on, his eyes moving over the other mutants in the room. Looking at them now, it was abundantly clear that they needed a safe haven. A sanctuary. The island would serve as that. As a home, where they didn't have to hide who they were nor live in fear. But right now, it was clear that this chaos of a training session was more about showing off.
He had spent enough time around teenage mutants to know that. His eyes fell back to the woman. The confidence in which she spoke to him with gave him some limited insight into her personality. "Who is responsible for this?" He question void of blame but rather, held blunt curiosity. Someone had to have arranged this. While it was chaos, it still required . . . planning -- so to speak.

Magneto was standing here, and telling her she could do better? It was like meeting your idol and them disapproving. Her brows bent and her arms crossed as she stiffed her back. Could do better?! She damn well almost had it! She was TRYING to do better! Wasn't that was this was all about! She wanted to stomp her foot and use her powers to throw something but knew better. He was powerful.
"I am!" She said proudly when he asked who was responsible for this. They needed training to be able to use their powers to fight the big fights! They were supposed to be a team. That was what she was doing! Making them follow her because they see how powerful she was! "I was training to stop bullets so the next time humans shoot at us!"

Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION She was. Why did that not surprise him. The way she spoke up. The way she stood. A confidence about her. The comment she made about stopping bullets made him wonder just what all her powers entailed. "There is more to survival, than stopping bullets." More to the fight. More to the threat. He had been where she stood, thinking that stopping bullets was the extent of it . . . but Charles had opened him up to a far more vast endless void of possibilities. He wanted to do the same for those of the Brotherhood. "The same goes for all of you," he announced to the crowd, now addressing them as a whole.
"The Brotherhood has remained dormant for too long. It is time we join together, train, aid those of our kin who are in danger from the real threat out there in the world." He knew that in Charles letting him go so that the authorities would not capture him, there was an unspoken trust that Magneto would not do anything too detrimental or threatening. He intended to keep that promise, until it became an impossibility. Right now, the most important thing was to reform, regroup, and re-establish the Brotherhood. "So I ask you my brothers, and sisters," the latter part prompting him to look at her specifically before his eyes surveyed the crowd once more. "Who will join me." So that the Brotherhood may live, and thrive.

She felt chastised and Lorna didn't like it. She'd built up this ideal of him and in that ideal he had favored her, and thought her amazing--and now the real thing was telling her that what she was doing what wrong. Shifting her feet she rolled her eyes at his speech, but it was very subtle. Not blatantly disrespectful but enough to show she wasn't quit ready to let it go.
Everyone started agreeing and rushing up to agree to follow him and do his bidding. Lorna realized she's lost her power the moment he walked in. The mutant she wanted to be like, and now----well this sucked!
Lorna stood there and waited for everyone to finish. As the conversation died down she put her hands on her hips and spoke up again. "So you disappear for like a dozen years--" clearly she was exaggerating "--and suddenly come back to save the world in Egypt and we're supposed to what?" She wanted to know what she was signing up for, before she joined him. At that point a few others looked between them. Lorna knew they'd follow him if forced to pick, but she was making a play to keep what power she had over them.
Lorna shifted on her feet again, and looked up at him. "The real threat? We've been fighting that. Where have you been?" She knew the story. Married a human. Went soft and left. Her voice wasn't angry, but it wasn't soft either. It was clear that there was more under her words then defiance. She was bristled, and maybe even hurt that the mutant she had once thought the ideal way to be . . . . was more human then she had thought him.

Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION After the brief conversations, the mutant who had first spoke up, spoke again. It held an air of authority which was evident in the way she positioned herself, and what -- as well as how -- she spoke. He knew that his life was no secret. From the moment he had been exposed, rumours had spread throughout the mutant community -- and even human one. But he was not here for sympathy. In fact, he had no intention of getting into the details of falling in love with a woman and trying to live a normal life. A happy life.
"Some mutants believe in integration," Magneto began to say, his mind specifically thinking of Charles. That was the belief he and the X-Men had, the ones who tried to support humans. "But the truth is, we can't. We will instead, be forced to assimilate." Which is what he had done. And what society had forced upon others in the past. "Give up what makes us mutants so that society accepts us." Conform to the masses. Relinquish their power. Hide among others. Dye one's hair to be deemed what society dictates as normal. Change ones skins to deem what society perceives as beautiful.
"This is where I was," he continued, trying to remain in the moment, but his mind thinking of when he held his wife and daughter in his arms. "Trying to prove myself wrong." Trying to live Charles' way. Snapping back into reality he continued."Society will never accept us, so we form our own." He was now addressing the crowd. Words he had said earlier on, but now with the granted land, he planned to truly fulfil it.
"A sanctuary for mutants to live, to thrive, whilst helping our brothers and sisters who are left at the hands of the human race." For Magneto had no intention of abandoning them. Looking back at the woman, he went on. "This is a choice for you to make." He would not force anyone. He was here to offer everyone the same thing: safety, protection, a safe haven. And for those who wished it . . . a chance to fight against those who would persecute them.

Lorna might have been ready for a fight but Magneto wasn't. It was clear she wouldn't verbally bait him into it. It annoyed her even more! The others glances between them and so Lorna decided her best play was to go with them. With him. See what he offered. She didn't want to end up here alone. She was used to no one wanting her around, and she wasn't about to give up on not being alone right now. She folded her arms over her chest and waited for him to finish talking.
His last words were to her, and him speaking directly to her eased some of her ruffled feathers. "There is a safe place?" She asked, hesitant to believe it but willing to go anyway. It wasn't like it could be worse then here. Besides, she knew of his powers and how they were similar to her own. She wanted to learn from him. Wanting to hold on to her power she spoke up, "Where is there such a place?"
She couldn't imagine a place where they were safe. All her life she'd been kicked down and brushed off and sent away for what she was. She'd long learned to embrace it. Embrace the idea that there never would be a home or safe place.

Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION Magneto looked at the young mutant as she inquired about the place. It was a fair question, as he knew that there were not many safe places for mutants. The skepticism was understandable, and even Magneto knew that eventually, the humans would still come.
But the difference was, they would be ready for them. They would train. They would defend and protect their own. It was a place for them to thrive without constant threads. "An island, granted to us by the government." A place that they owned, for it was a deal he had struck when being exonerated for his crimes. "Pack your things and meet back here. We leave in an hour." Dismissing the group, he looked towards the woman, curious about who she was. While he had a feeling she would join them, he was still interested in her. "What's your name?" He asked.

Lorna watched the other break up to get the few things they had to their names, so they were ready when it was time to go. She didn't like not giving the order but she held her lips shut so that she didn't make it worse. The last thing she wanted was to make everyone pick between her and their hero. She knew who'd they pick, and she wasn't sure she could handle loosing that.
He asked who she was, and having his whole attention soothed the rest of her feathers. "Polaris," She told him, giving him her mutant name. Wasn't it he who introduced himself and encouraged others to use mutant names? She she didn't give him Lorna right now. Though she hadn't really gotten used to the new name. She wanted too through! Lorna was the weak kick who got kicked around by her father. Polaris was a force of nature!

Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION Magneto gave a slight smile as she gave him her name. Her mutant name. That was certainly something he approved of. He extended his hand for her to take. "A pleasure," he said, meaning it. He did not wish to be at odds with this woman. "Mutants here needed someone to lead them," he began to say.
"I take it you helped with that." Something about her demeanour and of course her questions, tipped him off to that fact. "And I hope you will continue to do so." Meaning, he did not wish to dismiss the efforts she had clearly put forth thus far. But . . . she was young. Lacked experience in the world. Never the less, there was something about her indeed. Something that he hoped to properly train and see flourish.

He offered her his hand and told her it was a pleasure. It was a little old school but she liked where he was coming from. She took the offered hand, and his next words brought her chin up and she found herself smiling. Yes, she had done that and it was nice to have him notice! She felt empowered and she liked it.
"I've been here about five years now. Made sure the humans stayed off our backs and everyone was safe." She told him, which basically meant to bossed them around and kept them working on their powers like she thought was best--for better or worse, she'd done it. She knew they needed to get stronger before they could stand up to the humans in anyway they could. Right now she could push or pull things around, and move basic things. Once when she was really pissed off she floated! Just a foot off the ground but DAMN! She could float! "Everyone who was anyone back when you were here has left us. Humans treat us like freaks, and most of us don't exactly fit in a rich prep-schools where they just want to sing kumbaya. So we stayed and waited." Meaning there had been no one else.

Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION Erik understood, more than anyone. It was why he never could stay with Charles. His disagreement with his ideaologies and philosophies of how mutants should integrate into society, prevented him from being a part of his friend's mission. He would always respect him, but not enough to be a part of whatever he hoped to achieve. And that was just it: hope. Magneto lacked that faith in humanity, which was why he would not wait around while more of their people were slaughtered for a day that may not -- and probably would not -- come.
"We won't have to worry about that anymore," he assured her. "We will train. Learn how to protect ourselves and others like us." He had a vision, and planned to bring it to life. Just as he always did. "No more waiting. No more hiding." Just, living amongst each other in an environment void of that constant fear.

Lorna liked this! This idea of having a place to train and be ready! Yes! Her fingertips tingled as she wiggled them in excitment! Running the same fingers through her hair, Lorna smiled at the idea. Not so much for the idea of protecting mutants as a place for her to not hide! While she would defend other mutants there was always a feeling of thrill at using her powers to show how bad ass she was!
"Then I choose to go with you." Lorna said, and walked backwards. After a few steps she turned to go get her back. She wanted to be some of the first back. After stuffing her backpack with all she owned and some food she pulled one strap over her shoulder and began walking back. She'd not been gone long, and as she approached him again she decided to try and impress him with her powers. Not looking anyone but at him, she walked with long strides toward him and held her hand out. A thin green plasma formed around her fingers as the knives along the side of the wall floated up and toward her. They moved to stop beside her as she came to a rest near him. Speaking to him she began putting them in her bag one at a time, while the others floated there. "So where are we going?"

Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION Magneto nodded as she spoke of going with him, and he was glad of it. He saw potential in her, in all those here. If she was able to . . . 'lead' these other mutants in his absence, then there was certainly something in her that could be polished to take that leadership to the next level. Whatever her 'leading' had entailed, he was uncertain. But he imagined he would find out soon enough as he spoke to her more.
She was the first to return, and did not waste any time as a green plasma appeared from her finger tips, prompting the knives to float near them. Magneto gave a slight smile. "Impressive." Knowing that was why she had done it. For the same reason she had wanted to stop the bullets being shot at her. He had no issue in feeding into that. Mutants should be proud of their gifts and his words were sincere. Though he wondered the specifics of her abilities. It was not telekinesis, but rather, something else that prompted the items to move. But instead of inquiring further, he answered her question.
"Genosha," he answered, revealing the name. "It's a few miles from the coast of the eastern seaboard." And as it was an island, was only accessible with an aircraft. He had already seen it, already starting building upon it from metal found from the depths of the water around them. "What brought you to the Brotherhood?" He asked, trying to learn more about it, as was his intention with any new member of the cause.

Damn right she was impressive! Though that was all he seemed to say about her display of power. Which annoyed her, but she hid it down since she still had his attention. He talked about where they were going, which she realized she didn't care about as much as she thought she did. Lorna was really here to be with the people she could impress and if that was here or there it didn't matter. Still, and island was fun! Maybe there was a beach or something! Islands were like all beach right? A fancy hotel they could take over! How bad could it be?
What brought her here? Lorna shifted her weight from one foot to the other as she tried to find a answer. She was tired of being alone. No where else to go. The kids here were weak and she was strong so she could easily fit in by leading them. She had been scared as mutants were hunted and didn't want to be the kid alone in the streets. Shrugging her shoulders she avoid the answers that could strike pity and instead gave a half truth. "The cause. I'm here to my part in the fight." That sounded good right? She knew her voice wasn't as confidant in her answer, but that was because it was a half truth.
