Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION Erik ever wondered if he would stop feeling like this. As if his heart had been shattered into a million pieces. How many more loves lost would there be in this lifetime? Just when he set aside his vindictive and raging ways . . . something else happened. In this case, Mystique's death. He loved her, and though they had not been together in a very long time, she would always have a special place in his heart. A heart that was now broken, yet again.
He knew what had to be done, but he also needed a moment to regain his composure. He had been unable to hold back the tears when Hank told her of his death; allowing a single one to be shed. Now, there were two. Slowly trailing down his cheek in lament of Mystique's death. Despite his back to the entrance of his quarters he heard footsteps, and quickly brushed away the tears, hoping that it was Selene with news of Jean's whereabouts so that they could exact revenge. But it was Lorna. "Yes Lorna, what is it?" He asked, assuming she was here regarding something about the mission that they were to embark on soon. For the first time, in a long time, Magneto was ready to strike . . . and strike hard.

FINALLY! They were going to do something besides train! Lorna had missed the helicopter fight, but she was ready to be of use now! Magneto had been training her, and she was primed and loaded to kick some ass! The excitement of using her powers and joining in had her emotions on high but she was trying to pull them in! She bounced around Selene, and then others until she decided the best use of her energy was to go get Pryo. He was off the island on the mainland.
She bounced up the hill and then used her powers to float up toward Magneto's house--forgetting to knock in her haste. He called her Lorna, and she ignored it. Both names were used here, but she tended to go by Polaris with most people. Over the years however she'd come to respect and crave Magneto's approval. Sometimes it felt like he did not wrong util he ignored her! "I'm going to--" Her feet landed as she took a few steps toward him but then slowed.
Something was off here. She'd seen any looks on his face over the years--and many of them directed at her antics. Yet this one was new. Her emotions, which were bouncing and jumping slowed and she felt uncertain. "What happened?" Her voice was soft for her, and she tilted her head to better see his face. She knew his friend died, but she'd never seen them together so she wasn't sure what this was.

Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION What happened. It was such a simple question, yet it held so much weight. A reliving of losing the ones you love, as more and more of them faded from this earth. So he tried to regain his composure as best he could, yet knew this was how he had unwravelled countless times before. "A fellow mutant is dead," he said, trying to keep the words steady.
Mystique was far more than just a mutant, but he wasn't about to get into the emotionalde tails. Mutants died every day but and here he was, isolated from society. Yet this particular situation was complicated. "And now we must hunt another." The last mutant he had hunted with such a vengeance was Shaw, not even aware that the man was a mutant. "It is hardly cause for celebration." For he knew she and Pyro were excited about the confrontation and inevitable usage of their powers in such a spectacle.

Yeah yeah, no celebrating for them. She got it, SHE DID but she couldn't help but to be excited to go on a mission and kick some ass! She could stand by him and prove once and for all that she was would be the next Magneto! He would be proud of her and then they'd rule here! Well, it would be the first step into that direction! She could be begin proving herself!
Lorna noticed too, that there was something more then him just being somber. There was a sadness to his face? Maybe. She wasn't sure. She knew sadness. Lorna struggled with mental illness, and she could see that something was off with Magneto. Something more then mourning a random death and not wanting to hunt down another. Polaris watched him for a moment as her brows bent. "You don't look angry." She said, realizing that was why he was off. "You look upset."

Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION She was right. There was a difference between the two. He supposed he was both, but anger had been the most common emotion he'd lived with all his life. The only one he had ever know. With pain and loss, came the anger because for that time spent in the camps, it was the emotion that Shaw had unlocked in him to link to his power.
The anger he felt consistently brought out his mutant abilities. Conditioned to feel it if he wanted to use his powers. He'd held on to that emotion for so long, until discovering the true key to it; the true depth to which he could use it. The place between serenity and rage.
Yet anger was a stage of the mourning process and he was still grieving. Magneto did far more damage in this process for however the stage lasted. This was no exception. "I knew her well," Magneto answered, knowing that could be interpreted in many ways. "She was among the first mutants who joined The Brotherhood." Though his relationship had been so much deeper than that.

That made since. He was sad cause his friend died. She had not had a lot of friends until the past few years when she'd come here. She knew though that Mangeto had a lot of value in them. She knew that he had lost his fam, and that it had made him go a little crazy and try to destroy the Earth. She hadn't seen him loose anyone close to him before but she knew crazy. Lorna struggled with crazy herself. Though outwardly she hated that word, and refused to use it--she was good friends with crazy.
What did one say when someone told you they lost someone? Polaris looked around trying to figure it out. Was she supposed to be all soft and pat him on the back? Yeah, that was how you did it! Lorna reached out to hesitantly touch his shoulder and give it a short four circle rub before dropping it back. She should leave now!
Yet Magneto was one of the new people she new it would be hard for her to loose. Him (and though she'd never admit it out loud, she'd miss Pryo too). She didn't like the idea of knowing he was sitting here hurting and no one was around. And she hated that she didn't like it and it made her want to stay. Shifting her feet, and giving an inward sigh of annoyance with herself, she moved to sit beside him. "I've never, ya know, lost anyone. My parents wanted nothing to do with me, and I've been alone most of my life." She'd run away at 15 and been on her own since. "But since coming coming here I get it. What it must be like. To loose someone. I bet it sucks. Just don't forget we're here too. So like you're not alone." Suddenly she knew what she needed to say, but it hung in her chest unable to come out. The fear of saying it and being rejected so strong that no other words would come out either.
