Clouds will race in, Rains will pour downMagda could feel herself waking up, and she took a deep breath, trying to hold on to the last few moments of rest. She wasn't ready to wake up. Not because she was tired, but because her dream was so good. But as they always did the dream faded into the morning. Stretching slowly she blinked awake and her eyes caught her husband. Smiling she lay there and watched him. Some things were worth waking up too.
Sliding closer and tucked herself into his side, enjoying this time when they could just be. Here they weren't trying to solve world problems. Here they were just. Just together. Just sleeping. Just happy. "I did not hear you come to bed last night," she whispered, knowing that either he had been awake her her moving and touching him had woken him up. Her words were not ones of complaint--she knew that his work was important. That he wanted to save his people, the way no one had saved theirs. Magda was supportive of him fight. In their youth she had not supported his need to hunt and kill Shaw at the cost of everything--but this, this is knew was important. She'd seen that would happen if no one did.
Turning her face she rubbed it over his skin, before looking up at him and smiling. "Good morning," she whispered, grateful that of the moment she felt well. She'd gone to the doctor's yesterday but had yet to speak to her husband about why. Right now she savored the anticipation of telling him.

Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION Erik had never slept well until the days he slept by Magda's side. It was only then that he felt true peace, true solace for it could always be found in her company. She may not be a mutant, but she held a power over him that was far more intense than any mutant capability. A reminder, that beautiful and seeming perfection could truly exist in this world. He felt her stir and slowly rose to an awakened state, his arm resting comfortably around her and moved with her as she nestled against his side, speaking of not hearing him come in last night.
"It was late," he admitted, opening his eyes to meet her gaze. "I didn't want to wake you." To have a home to call their own was incredible. To call the woman that he loved his wife. It somehow made it easier to bare the darkness of the world and the persecution of others. She gave him strength, in ways he could not explain to anyone. A smile spread across his lips as she greeted him into the new day.
"Morning," he responded, almost teasingly, as he solidified the greeting by lowering his head towards her in a light kiss. "Did you sleep well?" There were often times he hated leaving her, even if it was just for a day. Their marriage was far from a conventional one, but as long as he was with her, he didn't care about societal norms. He practically defied them just by breathing and engaging in the actions that he did.

Clouds will race in, Rains will pour downSeeing him smile, made her smile just as bright! She liked seeing him happy! She liked knowing he was happy here. It might be easy to think that she could be worried about his feelings on her being human; that their might be doubts in her mind since he was vocal about his feelings toward humans. And yet--there never was. There was only this feeling of trust and openness between them. "Morning," A feeling of happiness. One she knew was about to get more. "Did you sleep well?" She'd missed him.
"I woke up well," she teased, moving to him him again. His was light but hers lingered. Smiling as she broke the kiss, Magda brushed her hair back. "I missed you. Did you eat last night? Are you hungry now?" Or could they linger in bed together for a while? She wanted to just lay here with him for a while, but if he was hungry then she'd feed him. Magda didn't carry the weight of the war like Erik did. It came out in other ways. In the camps, she had been starving--and now hunger was something she never let herself be. Nor her husband.

Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION Erik couldn't help but smile as she told him she woke up well. Seeing her before he closed his eyes and as soon as he opened them, was true perfection. "I missed you too," he told her, meaning it. For each time his work pulled him away, he knew it was taking time away from them. And yet, Magda remained forever patient.
His smile remained when she asked if he wanted something to eat. Her desire to take care of him meant the world. He had spent majority of his life on his own, not depending on any other and yet in this time with her, having someone to care for and be cared by, was a feeling he never wanted to be absent of again. "I'm fine," he assured her. "Let's just stay like this for a little while," he added on. The perfect moments of starting a day.
"Is there anything I can get for you?" He asked. He knew she had been unwell for a little while, and while she seemed to be better, he was still worried. A physical attack he could protect her from. An internal one was a bit more difficult. While waiting for whatever he could get her, he decided to start with a glass of water. With a subtle wave of his hand, he turned the kettle on in the kitchen, in the event that she wished to start the day with a cup of tea to help settle her stomach if she was nauseous again.

Clouds will race in, Rains will pour downHe clearly did something! She knew how his powers worked, and when he waved his hand she knew that meant he'd used them. "I am alright. You need not worry over me." Though she knew that when she explain why she'd been ill that he might worry some. It was only natural. Her hand moved to touch her belly as she thought about the baby. Right now she didn't feel 'morning sickness' but later in the morning she knew she would.
"Erik, how do the mutant genes work?" She asked, moving to look at him and trying to keep her voice casual. "Your parents didn't have it. Yet you do." She smiled at him, "If . . . if we had children. Would they?" It was clear by her tone that she wouldn't mind. She'd love them any way they came to her. Yet she paused over the word children because it was the first time she had ever approached the idea with him. And she wanted to know how he felt about them--since he was about to get one. She wanted to be a mother--but she knew that Erik had so much happening in his life right now. She wasn't sure if he was ready for children, wanted them, or if he would be happy. She knew that he would be here for her and the baby no matter what--but she wanted him to want it! She wanted him to be happy.

Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION That was easier said than done. He could not help but worry for her. Her next question was . . . curious. More so because of the abrupt subject change. From her health, to the biology of mutants. "It is the curious of evolution," he began to explain. Research was still being done as to how those without the gene, passed it on. And unfortunately, it was done at the expense of mutant lives.
"There are those who possess what is called the X Gene, which causes these various abilities and powers among the race." He was not going to bore her with the technical science . . . and her next question really made him wonder, as she brought up the subject of children. They had never quite discussed it before, so he wondered what brought her mind to it now. Meeting her gaze, he knew the first thing he had to do was answer her question.
"There a strong likelihood of it," he answered as simply put. Two mutants with children it was almost guaranteed, but because Magda was human . . . there was no 100% certainty. "What brings about this curiosity?" He asked gently, not discouraging the topic but rather, inquiring more into her mindset that prompted it. "Do you want children?" It would be a lie to say the thought had not crossed his own mind.

Clouds will race in, Rains will pour downHe explained things that she knew she'd never understand the way he did. Erik had an intelligance in him that she didn't have. Magda wasn't unsmart, but her abilities were more earthly, rather then science. She understood enough though. The baby would mostly likely have his or her father's abilities--just as they might have Magda's hair or Eriks eyes.
She wanted to tell him about the baby, but his later question made her smile and she held off for just another moment. "I do." She admitted, "If they are yours." She wanted this baby, and was so excited to tell him. She liked the idea of telling him like this too. Laying in bed together just being here and being together. No fancy way to break the news, no dramatic cake or balloons. While that might fit another, this fit them. "Do you?" She returned his question. "Would you want to be a father?" Because in a way, he already was.
Magda moved to sit up and put her leg over his hips so she sat there looking down at him. Lacing her finger with his, she moved them to her belly. "Erik, you're going to be a father." She told him, a smile breaking out of her lips!

Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION Children. What a beautiful thought. It was not something undesired, but never something that he'd thought he'd have the privilege of having. Just like a wife. But much was different now. Magda made him want to truly settle and embrace all roles that he could engage in that came with being a family man. And the fact that she too wanted his children, meant the world to him. "I do," he answered, same words as she had responded with and matched sincerity. He watched her as she moved her position, looking down at him as he smiled up at her.
He was about to make a teasing remark about whether she was ready to try for one -- again -- but her words caused him to pause. And all thought to flee his mind. His hand that was on her stomach rested there, his fingers spanning over her petite belly. One that would grow with life. He closed his eyes, as if longing to feel that life inside of her. Still processing her words. Soaking in this moment, this feeling, the revelation. Their love had created a child. He opened his eyes, a single tear falling down his cheek as he moved to sit up, his lips resting on her forehead in a lingering embrace. "Thank you," was all he could managed to get out in a whisper, overwhelmed with emotion for the greatest gift she had given him: her love, and a child born of it.

Clouds will race in, Rains will pour downErik's fingers spread out over her belly, and Magda watched his face as he absorbed the information. She waited for his reaction, and saw the tear in his eyes. Erik leaned up to kiss her forehead. Magda's face broke into a bright smile as he thanked her, and she laughed softly unable to hold back her emotions any longer! "You did half of it, I should thank you." She teased, happier in this moment then she had been in a long time.
She brushed his hair back and smiled at him. Her hand tightens over his that was on her belly, and presses him there. "Which is why my curiosity. Because your son or daughter will have your magik too." She told him softly, wanting him to know that she would embrace their child no matter how they were--human, mutant, or whatever religion they choose. She was just glad to be a mother, and for Erik to be the father. She wanted the baby to have his stance and confidence, and his eyes. She wanted the the baby to have his eyes!

Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION Erik smiled with amusement when she told him he had done half of it. "I'm always happy to do my part," he said teasingly, as he looked at her, smile still in place. With the news sinking on, the tears faded -- for now -- and instead, left was only pure joy over the thought of having a child with the woman he loved. The way she spoke of the child, already embracing the strong likelihood that it too would possess powers, made his heart swell with emotion.
Even the first time they met and he told her who he was, he had never seen fear from her, even if he had feared himself at times. But never, had she looked at him with the same fear that others had. Nor had she looked at any mutant as such. "There is certainly a strong possibility of it," he said, with pride in his voice and on his face. "A child," he thought out loud, as if saying it himself would make it more real. "Our child," he added on, before kissing her again, letting the joy seep into the embrace.

Clouds will race in, Rains will pour downSeeing Erik this happy, made Magda's heart even happiner. He needed happiness. There had been too much darkness in his life, and she couldn't wait for a baby to help bring him some more of that good feelings. "You look very pleased with yourself," She teased, knowing it wasn't that but the happiness of having a baby. Still, their relationship wasn't built just on the serious. They played and joked too. They were happy.
She kissed his cheek and forehead and both eyes before pulling back to smile brightly down at him. "It is why I have been sick. I fear I shall remain so for a few more months." Not the most comfortable, but for a baby--she'd take it! Their baby! A son for daughter that would be part her and part him! After a long moment of silence she whispered, "I think this is the happiest I've ever been in my life. Erik, you've made my life so perfect!" She laughed before kissing him again. She wasn't worried about their child growing up in this world with hr and Erik here to protect the baby. Maybe a little nervous with his the mutants were treated. But she knew they would be a team and everything would be alright!

Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION He let out a small breath of amusement at her tease. "I am," he returned. A child. A baby. They were going to have a baby. In all of Erik's years, he never thought such a thing to be possible. To have such a traditional life, where he married the woman he loved, and now they were going to bring a child into this world. He closed his eyes, basking in each kiss she granted him, speaking of this being the reason she was sick . . . and she would be more often. While he wished there was a way to ease it, he knew this was part of the process.
"Well then I will be here to take care of you," he promised her. They had their own home here but he knew he had to get better at being with her as much as possible, now that she was pregnant. Last night being a prime example of him not being present. She spoke of being happy and he smiled softly at her, affection evident in his gaze. His hand went to her cheek, gently caressing her soft skin with his thumb.
"As you made mine." She made his life perfect; far more than he thought possible. There were things that he wished he could change in regards to their circumstance . . . but they were happy. "I know the feeling. I don't think I knew what happiness was until I married you." Being with her made him happy, but marrying her . . . brought them together in a way that spoke of forever.

Clouds will race in, Rains will pour downHe admitted he was pleased with himself and Magda laughed a very happy laugh that took up her whole face. She was so glad that she'd just kept him in bed and told him this way. It made this moment so special! "Good, because I want this baby to have a happy life," She told him, knowing that it would be easy with them. Yet she did worry about the politics, but not enough to ruin this moment. Soon enough they'd have to talk about how this would work but for now . . .
"I fear your baby is growing hungry." She teased, and smiled at him. "Will you join us?" She'd make something to eat, and they could bask in this feeling for a while longer. Magda would never out grow her need for food! Taking his hand she rested it on her belly while letting him answer. She couldn't wait to swell big with the baby, and to hold the baby.
In fact the only thing she didn't like was the knowledge that she had not been able to take her husband's name, and the baby wouldn't be able too either. It was the only part of this she had ever disliked. Yet it wasn't enough to stop her from enjoying this.

Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION A happy life. Yes. He wanted that for their baby as well, just as much as he wanted it for Magda. "She or he will have that," he assured her. "Because they will be loved." Emphatically. Both by he and the baby's mother. Family was something they both strongly valued and he knew that once the baby came, keeping them safe, happy, and nurtured would be their top priority.
He smiled as he looked at his hand that she led to her stomach. Closing his eyes for a moment and just basking in the feeling that there was a life they had created inside of her. A life that would grow; a life that they would love unconditionally. Opening his eyes, his smile remained, leaning towards her to lightly kiss her on the lips. "Of course," he agreed, thinking of no where else he'd rather be. "But let me make it," he added on. It was all a part of taking care of her and while he was here with her, he wanted to make the most of it. "What would you two like?" He asked, moving to stand up from the bed and offering his hand to help her up as well.

Clouds will race in, Rains will pour down"Yes, they will be loved and see use in love!" Magda took his hand and let him help her up. She pulled on one of his shirts so she was better covered to walk around the kitchen, but didn't bother with adding pants. Laughing softly at his 'you two' she pretended to think. "Strawberries!" She said, knowing it was something they already had. "And pancakes!" Linking their fingers she walked with him toward the kitchen, and then let him go while she pulled out some orange juice. Pausing she looked back in. "And chocolate, and about a million things." She added.
Magda knew about how Erik found out about his powers. She knew it because she had been there--not there while it happened, but in the camp. After he'd killed the guards the others didn't want to go near him. So they'd "made" her do it. However she also knew that his happened while in extreme fear. While he begin cooking she asked more, "How old are most children when they find out about their powers?" Magda knew how they worked a little, but as a mother she needed some details on what to expect. Stepping closer to him she tucked her body against his while he worked--not that he needed both hands as more and more her kitchen wear (among other things in their house) were metal. "Am I going to have to hide the metal from the baby?" She teased.

Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION Love. Truly the most important ingredient in any family. In the years he had been with his parents before they were taken away, he felt loved. He'd been in a happy family, a humble one. Now, he felt a different kind of love from a family that they had created themselves. A wife. A child. When she told him what she wanted, he didn't waste any time, going to the kitchen and well, to put it simply . . . started to multitask.
A few waves of his hands prompted a knife in the air to start cutting strawberries after rinsing them, and the starting the stove while a whisk moved in circular motions in the bowl as he cracked the eggs and added flour, listening to her question. He felt her move closer, slightly leaning into her, enjoying the warmth of her body. "It varies," he answered honestly. "Some as young as 5. Others can be as old as 12 or more." There was still so much research being done about the mutant gene. He knew most of the information available from Charles, who had done extensive research on the subject and even had written a thesis on it.
"Some mutants have physical signs. A tail. Different colour skin. Those are usually more visible early on." He spoke of it casually, though knew that these were the mutants who sometimes struggled a great deal: their physical sign of mutation difficult to hide, and even more difficult for others to ignore. It subjected them to ridicule, mockery and ultimately, discrimination. A smile of amusement formed on his lips at the thought of moving all the metal. "There is a good chance our child will have different abilities than my own." The thrill of finding out what it could be excited Erik. To learn if their child had the gene and what powers they held.

Clouds will race in, Rains will pour downFive to 12 years! He then spoke of some mutants having colored skin and tails! While he spoke of it causally, Magda's slip parted in surprise. "My baby might have a tail?!" She asked, and then sighed, "That would take some creativity with diapers!" She was laughing, but she also knew the risks that if their baby did look different then they would have to protect them even more. Yet she knew that she would love them no less. Perhaps she might even love them even more.
Magda leaned more into him and pretended to pout. "I don't want to wait five years or more. I want to know now!" She teased, not afraid that her baby might be a mutant. For her she knew that it was as Erik said, the next step for humans. If Their baby was human or mutant, they would love and protect him or her just the same. "I know you'd love a boy and girl no matter what--but if you had to pick. Which would you want? A son or daughter?" Magda knew she would wish for a daughter, but a son would be simply wonderful too! A daughter however, she felt she could make clothes for easier, and do her hair. Even if they had a tail!

Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION While he knew Magda would hold no discrimination against a mutant who physically deviated from society's construct of "normal", hearing her first thought of what they would need to consider if their baby had a tail, made him let out a breathy chuckle, smiling with amusement. He loved how practical she was; how she thought of the details in such things. It was why she was so different from all other humans. Instead of them being irked and disgusted -- or afraid -- of a potential baby with a tail, Magda embraced it. Welcomed it. Considered it.
"I'm afraid we'll have to," Erik said, also sharing that same excitement and impatience to discover what their child's powers may be. "It's just one of the many things to look forward to when bringing a baby into this world." When she asked which he would want, he turned to face her, still smiling. "Either, truly," he said honestly. "The idea of being a father is not one I even considered until you came into my life . . . again." The latter part of his statement said in teasing as he wrapped an arm around her. "So I welcome either, and will love them as unconditionally as I love their mother." Her. Magda.

Clouds will race in, Rains will pour downMagda was smiling, even as she playfully moaned in 'disappointment' at the fact they had to wait to learn so much about their baby. In truth she knew they had to wait but loved teasing him, and when he had laughed at her little joke it made her feel good. She liked that she could catch him off guard and make him react in such a pleasant way,
He told her that he loved her unconditionally, and Magda looked up at him and smiled. She remembered when she had once told him she didn't want the fact that she was human to come between them. Hearing him admit that he still loved her like this always warmed her from the inside out. As he cooked she reached over to steal a few strawberries and snack. Magda even held on up to his lips. Feeding him was another mission of her's.
Magda smiled as he ate the strawberry, and she knew they needed to talk about one other thing. She could wait, but waiting wasn't like her. She rather get it in the open, and not let it linger between them. She hadn't been able to take her husband's name, and she knew--without asking she knew--that this baby wouldn't get his name either. It was something important to her, and the only regret she had between them--that she couldn't tell everyone she married this amazing man. "I wish the baby could have your name." She said softly, knowing he knew it was something she wished for herself.

Peace WAS NEVER AN OPTION Erik smiled as he took the offered strawberry between his lips, eating it. She truly took care of him in ways that he never thought anyone would. As he began to pour the batter on the pan, he took in her words, speaking of how she wished the baby could have his name.
He wasn't exactly an optimist. He knew he couldn't promise her that the day would come where their baby could have his last name. Where she could have his last name. "It's safer this way," he said softly. The last thing he wanted, was for the authorities to come after his daughter and wife for any reason, even if it was just to get to him. Turning to face her properly, he smiled once again. "Besides, Eisenhardt is a nice strong last name," he said in praise of it.
