Lana was loving life at the moment. She had managed to become a rather successful little darling of the blackmarket. If you needed something done, Lana was becoming known as someone who 'could get it for you'. Even now she was only having to do half the work, as she was building a web of connections. Need someone who could steal a 1000 LBS stature--she knew a guy. Need someone who could break into a steal vault--she knew a guy.
She wasn't were she wanted to be yet, but she was getting there. Soon she wouldn't have to do work beyond making sure everything went smoothly. Well, that was the goal anyway.
She was dressed to impressed as she entered the bar. It was a great place to meet clients. As she walked to the back, Lana held up a cardboard box. Her client walked forward, looked in the small box and then handed her a thick brown envelope. She didn't bother to count it, she could tell when someone was cheating her. Tucking the money 'somewhere safe' Lana turned and all but skipped to the bar before hopping up on a stool and ordering a drink.

| There she was. The very woman he had been looking for. But not in any sort of romantic way. Hell no. This was strictly business of course. Normally, he would approach the woman, and considering her tiny size, he could just as easily throw her over his shoulder and carry her out. Like a ragdoll. Unfortunately, it was a bit more of a delicate situation because she was an empath. She could control his emotions which was... well, would be irritating as hell. He wasn't about to let some little girl control how he felt, when he already felt nothing for her. So he had to approach this with more caution. He wasn't exactly an overly reckless kind of guy. If he was, he wouldn't have survived in this business for as long as he had. So instead, he waited. And waited. And waited. And even waited some more, until the deal was done and she was sitting by herself on the bar stool. He was a few stools down, people in between them so he was not entirely visible to her. Not yet anyway.
He raised a finger to the bartender who came over to him. "Order a drink for that pretty lil' number down there," he said, making his intentions very obvious. The bartender gave a smile and nod, and proceeded to pour the drink. It helped that the girl was easy on the eyes, it would make his emotions seem more... authentic. He knew that he had to push away any hostility and put forth the feigned emotions he was projecting. Even though he cared nothing for her. Hell, he hoped she choked on the drink he just got for her. But having to play the role, he watched the bar tender pour the drink and pass it over to her. "Courtesy of the gentleman a few stools down," the bartender said as he put the drink in front of the young woman. Chayse slightly leaned forward, his head turned to look at her, so that he could see her reaction. It was what these dumb sons of bitches did anyway when buying a drink for a woman. And sadly, he had to play that role tonight.

Lana looked down at the drink before her before looking up at the barkeep. Once he explained she turned to look a few stools down. Her powers told her a lot about everyone, but in bars like this she normally put up a shield or mental block to keep from going mad. It was like being under water, she was aware of the emotions but they were muted and slow.
So when she got the drink the first thing she looked for was the normal tell tell signs that some dumb guy was either trying to drug her, or kill her. There was no strong levels of anticipation, just some smaller ones. A bit of lust. Some normal bar emotions of desperation, fear of being alone, and lust--there was a lot of lust here.
Which ones were coming from the drink buyer . . . and which one bought the drink? "Points for being forward, but it takes more then a drink to impress me." She said in a teasing tone, not a dismissive one. Like it was a playful challenge to step it up, or give it up now. Now the guy behind the short guy she was assuming had bought the drink--the massive sized tanned one that was rugged and . . . that was impressive.

| Great. She seemed to think that the other moron had brought the drink for her. He refrained from rolling his eyes, but more importantly, refrained from giving too much away in his emotions. He was trying to lure her to him. Not tip her off that his intentions weren't exactly what he was making them seem like. He didn't want to waste time engaging in this lame ass flirtation, so decided to cut to the chase. "Trust me, when I'm tryin' to impress you, you'll know it." He sounded like a damn pansy. But hey, it was all part of the job. That was what he had to keep reminding himself. That at the end of this, there was a pretty little cash wad just waiting to be tucked away in his pocket. Yeah. That would make all this worth it.
"Now are you gonna scoot down over here, or make me come over there?" He asked, in a... non threatening way. He had to save the hostility for when he had her where he wanted her. He turned to his other side. There was a guy sitting on the stool, and he needed to get rid of him. But being polite wasn't exactly one of Chayse's traits, so he just pushed the guy out of the stool, causing him to stumble to the ground. "What the hell man?" He demanded, but he seemed to realize he was outsized. Particularly when Chayse glared at him. The man then just left, shaking his head and mumbling something or another that Chayse didn't care enough to listen to. He then turned his head back toward the girl. "And would ya look at that. A seat just opened up right next to me and it has your name all over it."

The tall rugged man spoke up, proving that he was the one that had paid for her drink. Lana smiled as he looked at her, and he let herself taken in the sexy cut of his face and bloody hell that scar that cut through his brow only made him more perfect. Biting her lip, she decided then to just skill the empowered role and be an easy catch tonight. Not too easy, but he wasn't going to jump through hoops. She was doing well, she could afford a distraction--and when it looked like that, then bring it on.
Her smile faulted when he just pushed the guy away, but with luck the other guy just walked off without any aid of her. "You're really gonna make a girl hop off th's 'ere stool, and then climb up another?" She said in a flirty tone, her hands gesturing over herself as she was trying to draw attention towards her good assets. He could come to her easier, so she waited for him to do so. While she wanted, she introduced herself, "Name's Lana."

| Damn. She wasn't making this easy. He found his eyes following her hands, lingering over her body before meeting her face again. Despite her tiny size, she definitely was fully formed and mature. He knew he had to continue to engage in this kind of talk he was to get this done. "Don't see a vacant spot next to ya," he told her. "So either you come down here next to me. Or we find a way to share that stool of yours." And he could certainly think of a way or to, but deciding to continue to feign this kind of flirtatious, and a little too polite, talk of his... he went on. "Think I'll fit in your lap?" He asked jokingly. Obviously. Crushing her would make his job easier though... no no. He needed her alive and he needed her information.
And what he really needed to do was push aside any thoughts of the job that could cause the wrong kinda emotions to come through. She revealed her name and he gave a bit of a nod. "Jason," he said, giving a fake name. He wasn't about to reveal anything about himself. "We keep talkin' like this, you're gonna make my neck sore." From having to lean over to see past the idiots between them. He just wanted to get on with this and while this may be fun and playful for a normal person... it was hell for Chayse.

Lana rolled her eyes before hopping down and walking toward, Jason. The name seemed too normal for him, but she was willing to ignore the normal name for the larger then normal man. She had expected him to have some non-English name that fit him. She wasn't going to complain about the name though.
When she got to the stool, she climbed up and plopped down. "Alright, you got me here." She teased, having decided to not risk it and have him climb into her lap. As much as she was willing to bet he was teasing, she wasn't willing to find out. He look like a bolder to her pebble, and she wasn't getting crushed under the weight. "Now what are you going to do with me?"

| Good. Things were finally moving along. She came to sit next to him, the bar tender moving the drink closer to them as well. Step 1: Complete. She asked what he intended to do with her... and well, best not give an honest answer to that. "Lets see now... I got ya a drink. Broke the ice, got ya next to me." He withheld from thinking anything about the truth of why he wanted her close. "Guess the next step would be for me to see if ya came with anyone tonight." He had been watching her, so knew that she had come alone. But he obviously couldn't give that away. He needed to make it sound like he was picking her up. And that his question displayed his non existent morals and values.
"Or if you're plannin' on going home with anyone," he added suggestively, both as a 'legitimate' question and as a suggestion for her to go with him. Now this was Jason talking of course. Jason: the dude who picked up a girl at a bar. Not Chayse: the infamous bounty hunter who planned to extract information from her through any means necessary. Oh yeah. There was a significant difference between the two.

Laughing she answered him, "Do you often hit on girls and worry if they are alone later?" She asked, enjoying that he didn't care. While she wasn't pro-violence but the idea of someone wanting her enough to not care was thrilling. "But I happen to have come here along." For work but she wasn't going into that, "And while I was planning to leave alone, I don't think that will be happening for me tonight."
And because she liked to talk bigger then she was (that was a size pun, not a commentary that she couldn't give out) she added, "Though I warn you, I might be smaller but I don't come quietly." Little did she know just how many meanings her little dirty pun had, and would have when it came to their future together.

| His response to her first question: a smirk. "Nah. I see what I want, and I go for it." At least that much was true. He was just saying it with different implications. Acting as if he was saying it in a flirtatious way... rather than a 'I was hired to kill and/or capture you' kinda way. She then pointed out that she had come here alone. Something else he knew. But he couldn't exactly admit that, now could he? She was definitely right about the last part she said. She sure as hell wasn't leaving here alone, whether she wanted to or not. From the sounds of it though, she was gonna make his job a hell of a lot easier if she came willingly. And who knows. Maybe he could have some fun with her too. Which seemed all too tempting taking into account what she said next. He smirked and let out a slight chuckle. He leaned a little closer to her.
"I'll be the one to decide that," he stated, taking her words in the suggestive way that they sounded and responding to them in that way too. "See how loud you are. See what makes you come." Oh yeah. No shame in his words at all. Who said he couldn't mix a little business with pleasure anyhow. "Sounds like a good time," he added, raising his glass as if to cheers to that, keeping his gaze on her with a smirk and half smile playing on his face.
