THE BROTHERHOOD
The Brotherhood was founded in 1962 but really flourished in 1973. It consists of mutants who are fighting for mutant rights and freeing their race of persecution and human oppression. They can be perceived as radical freedom fighters, led by Erik Lehnsherr or better known as, Magneto. The Brotherhood accepts only mutants who are willing to fight for the cause through any means necessary. Their missions include freeing imprisoned mutants (be it from experimental labs or medical facilities, anywhere they are being kept against their will) and protect their race, even if it requires killing humans in the process. Mutants within the group undergo intense training so that they can obtain full control of their powers and skills to be better effective in the fight for mutants. Over the years, the Brotherhood has gained a reputation for being a radical organization, known for their elaborate plans and dangerous methods of executing them, as their primary targets are humans. They fight to create a world where mutants are free from fear, discrimination, and oppression, and will do so at any cost.Locations:Initially, the Brotherhood Headquarters was in a top secret location. It was not found unless someone from the Brotherhood specifically brought them there and it was usually Magneto who made that decision. In order to have joined The Brotherhood, one must have made contact with another mutant who was part of it, and this was most frequently done through a network of communication. The Brotherhood can also be distrusting of outsiders, so once a mutant decides to leave the Brotherhood, then they are out for good. They will not be contacted or sought out as they can no longer be trusted and it poses as too great a risk for the current Brotherhood mutants. Those within the Brotherhood are highly resourceful and rely on only each other to collect information or assistance with anything and everything.
In the early 80's, Magneto was given an island by the government which he titled: Genosha. This serves as a safe haven for mutants to live on. It is reachable only by air or water and those residing on it are distrusting of outsiders. Genosha is not only a place for Brotherhood mutants, but rather, ALL mutants who wish to live separately from humans. It eventually turns into an extremely strong mutant nation, consisting of all sorts of trades (farmers, builders, tailors, cooks, etc) where there is a barter system and a flourishing society. The Brotherhood serves as a military force, training, patrolling and guarding the island in case an outside threat (primarily humans) dares to attack them.(For any questions, inquiries or clarifications about the Brotherhood, please contact Erik Lehnsherr )
