Lorna paused at the end of the sidewalk, looking both ways before she walked across the road in an unhurried pace. Let someone hit her, or try too. You'd not find her crying when she reviled who she was sooner rather then later. It might even save her some time. Lorna hated waiting. Hated pretending. Hated walking among them. It wasn't fear, or even hate of them. It was boredom. She wanted to play and the humans were just the toys she played with. You could break them and there would be so many more. All she had to do was pick one up and begin a new game.
Today the game was play along until the right moment. Dressed in a blonde wig, round rose colored sunglasses, a white flowing shirt, and flaring green skirt. She looked like one of the humanitarian humans who only wanted everyone to love each other. Blend in. Play along. Strike hard.
The vitamin turned drug company that hundreds were piling outside of today was unveiling something that was supposed to maybe help prevent mutants babies. Women took it before pregnancy, and it hindered whatever from whatever and MIGHT stop the humans from having little shameful brats. Lorna couldn't careless about the politics or what was happening. What she did care about was that this was a great place to play and practice. She had been building a name for herself, working to get known so that he might find her. The who who wanted the war. She could enjoy a good war. So many things to play with in war.
Pestilence they were calling her. Worst name ever, and clearly they were trying to belittle her. Ignorant gnats. Once she thought of something better then she'd make sure they never forgot her name.
Ever.

Magneto was currently making his way through the streets of the busy. Clad in civilian clothing, a hat and sunglasses, he looked like any average person -- despite being one of the most wanted men in the world. But today, was not about making a statement against humans; it was about doing his research. He stopped walking when he reached his destination: a building that would be administrating one of the most revolting and degrading creations. It was a drug that would supposedly prevent mutation in the unborn child, causing them to be born without the gene that makes them mutants. It was disgusting. To alter nature like that and rob a child of such an incredible gift. It was not a disease that needed to be cured yet that was precisely what humans were treating it as. If they weren't, then such a drug would never have even considered being produced, and now soon distributed. But Magneto would bring an end to that, which was what brought him here today. He was doing his research, gathering the necessary information he would need to attack and destroy any trace of the drug and all it's research.
But he would not do that today. If he intended to, he would be clad in his uniform that made him look more like Magneto rather than Erik. When he did destroy the drug, he would make it very public and ensure that everyone knew it was the Brotherhood that was behind it. That they were ones fighting for mutant rights. And they were not the only mutants who fought for freedom. Others out there were starting to oppose such oppression. One such mutant named Pestilence. Her name had caught Magneto's attention after having seen and read news reports about her. It was clear that her name was not her mutant one; it was not one chosen by her, but rather, one given to her by mutants. Who knows what name they would have given him had he not so quickly publicized one that he personally liked. But right now, he needed to focus. He blended in with the crowd, looking at the building, studying it from the outside as he eyed the guards and those in front of it, wanting to see if this was where the drug was actually being produced, or if there was another facility or lab. If it was the latter, it only meant that they would have more than one target to destroy.

The doctors came out and begin giving their speech about fighting back without needing to get their hands dirty. They would save the human race by breeding out the little unwanteds, would they? How quaint of them. Little humans trying little human things to play with the gods. It was like watching the disabled running around to kill their betters. Amusing but not a threat. IF the drug even worked and wasn't some human propaganda for money. Humans fighting humans. Humans fighting mutants. Mutants stepping on the little bugs. It was how the world worked.
She came to rest in the crowd and took note of everyone there. Near her was a mother and son. On the other side an older man with a funny hat. Others were crowding in, so she put out a small field around her to block them out from her. Lorna didn't like humans touching her. She was so much better then them, why let them touch someone they could revere?
She looked at the man that was a few feet from her, and noticed he wasn't waving to nodding in approval. Some humans believed in mutant power out of fear or want to be apart of them. How silly of them. "Not going to to wave a sign and praise the doctors?" she asked, her accent clear, but muted slightly. "So do you believe we are all God's children?"

Magneto was pulled from his thoughts when he heard someone comment about his lack of encouragement. He did not turn to look at her; not until she spoke of whether he believed they were all God's children. It was when he was able to actually look at her, and see the nature of the person behind the words that they actually made sense. He had absolutely on interest in interacting with a human. But he felt compelled to respond. He turned his head back to the building in front of him before doing so. "To go against nature and rob a child of its identify before it has entered the world is immoral, regardless of what your theological beliefs are." A sin. A crime. However one wished to phrase it; it was the epitome of what was so terribly wrong with this society, and what Magneto and the Brotherhood worked to alter.
He turned his head to look back at her. The possibility of her being a mutant was enough to cause the slightest intrigue in him. But not enough to completely deviate from his purpose of being here. "And is it your own theological beliefs that have brought you here today?" Did she believe that it was a sin to go against God's work . . . or that mutants were the work of the devil. If it was the latter, then this conversation would be even shorter than Magneto already intended for it to be.

So he was one of them was he? The everyone is equal and you shouldn't judge, blah blah blah. Disappointing. She had hoped he was one of the human gruopies that followed her kind around so she could show off then kill him to prove that mutants didn't giving a flying hell about what humans thought about them. They didn't need followers. They needed humans to accept their power and bow down. Even still, she knew she'd kill this one. Let him be set in his minds, and politics. See if it lasted when he was gasping for breath.
"Like I said, we are all God's children. He made us how he wanted." Bull shit. He made some better, and she was one of the few who understood that. They would all see soon enough. She was a breed above even the other mutants. Power came strong to her for whatever reason, and she was going to use it to be like HIM. Magneto. "It should be a reLOVEution and not one built on hate! Can't we all just get along and let out children be who they were choose to be?" The words were starting to hurt to even say. She used her powers to begin taking one of the plagues that she had in her and turning it. Soon it would be ready to infect the humans here. Soon it would kill them all slowly while she enjoyed the watching of it. "Free love, man!" Was an idiot's dream.

Had Magneto been a man more expressive of his emotions, he would have rolled his eyes. She was clearly young. Clearly inexperienced in the world. Otherwise, she would not be saying such naive things which reflected her naive state of mind. But it was such an era of those who preached love and peace, yet they had absolutely no understanding of the word. What did they do to obtain? Talking wasn't enough. It never would be. Action needed to be taken and this philosophy was exactly what separated him from Charles; Charles believed in talking to those with influence . . . Magneto believed in acting against those who were persecuting them. Which was what brought him to this place now. And that reason no where involved engaging with someone like this woman who held such foolish beliefs.
"Never has society accepted that which is different." The world was filled with oppression, whether it be based on sex, ethnicity, culture, religion, orientation, or in this case . . . mutation. It had always been oppressive in some way or another; not only in the present but in past generations too. "Do not expect them to suddenly accept mutants and expressing love and tolerance for them, just because they should." Her words were so . . . meaningless. And further revealed what was wrong with this society and the mindset that those within it had. It was so easy to preach peace, love, acceptance . . . but only those who acted on this preaching and fought for it, truly believed in it. And she did not seem like such a person. So Magneto knew he was wasting his time, yet still did not move away from her. He merely returned his attentions to the building in front of them, as the crowd began chanting mixed things, and the authorities attempting to control the growing group of both protesters and enablers.

"Never has society accepted that which is different." Oh hell, now he was going to preach. Lorna wanted to look away and ignore him, but she was trying to maintain her cover for just a smidgen longer. If she could. Things were already starting, and the longer she waited the more she had to stand here and hear their trite little shit about things she could not care less about.
Lorna pasted on a big smile, and held up a peace sign with her fingers, trying to hold in her boredom at being here and not showing off. "Do not expect them to suddenly accept mutants and express love and tolerance for them, just because they should." She'd give a high five to the man in the funny hat if she touched humans. However, she didn't, and she was still planning on killing him painfully, but maybe not as slowly as before.
After he spoke, her fingers slowly lowered to her palm, before he hand lowered a few inches. Rather then try to carry on this pointless conversation, she was just going to end it. She pulled the plague up from inside her, and began building it up. Lifting her two fingers once again, though this time together, she reached out toward him. Why not let this one be the first to get the sickness and pass it on. It would make it all the more amusing because of his words.
Before she could, however, she felt someone run into the field at her back, and bounce off it. Dropping her hand she rolled her eyes, before reaching up to pull the rose colored glasses from her face, thus reviling her slightly unnatural green eyes. "You know what, I couldn't agree with you more." Turning from him, she faced the young man who was getting off the ground, and watched as he pressed on the slightly round invisible wall between her and him. Then, suddenly, she removed her, letting him fall forward.
Lorna stepped forward to catch him, her hands glowing green when she did, but only long enough to touch his skin, before dropping him. There on his neck where her hand had touched was black and rotting. Boils began growing on his skin, and Lorna turned from him to begin walking toward the men on the stage, dismissing the both the funny hat man and the dying other.
When the man screamed in pain, the crowd began to panic, even more when she lifted her hand to pull the wig away, reviling her green hair. Pulling the shirt over her head, she tossed it aside, now wearing just the thank top that was under it. The skirt she pulled away too, only to untie it and wrap it around her shoulders. A cape. Like he had! "Go ahead! Run away! Say it was horrible! Spread the word! Tell a friend!" She called out tot he crowd while staring the doctors down. They'd die painfully. Publicly. "Heroes are over with! I win! Anarchy! That I run! It's my turn! You people all have to learn!" She spun around dramatically, to face the crowd. He had given a speech, and while she had not mastered the Muhahahaness of it, she enjoyed this part. "This world is going to burn!" And she was going to enjoy the burning of it down.
Just then guns begin firing, and Lorna ducked her head while flinging her arms up to cover it. Only they never touched her. Ducking was still instinct, but so was putting up her shield. Raising her head, and looking rather pissed at the cops that surrounded her. "You ruined my speech!" She bit out, before bunching her hands up at her shoulders and then extending them out quickly, as her shield moved out too, sending everything--cops, doctors, tables, chairs, and parts of the crowd flying backwards. "That was just rude!"

Everything had happened rather quickly. One moment she was standing there next to him, the next she had done something to a random person and then stepped forward to create more of a scene. While panic surrounded them, Magneto stood there calmly, grounded in place as he watched the scene before him. And my, was it a show. Magneto was one who could most certainly appreciate histrionics as he had a flare for the dramatics as well. It appeared that the woman who had once been standing alongside him, speaking of God's children, was not all she seemed to be. She was a mutant. Not only that, she was one who blatantly opposed humans. Magneto's eyes went to the suffering man before him, and then to her abilities as she attacked the authorities and surrounding objects. A slight smile crept on his lips and without saying her name, he knew precisely who it was: Pestilence. The opportunity to interact with her was far too tempting to resist. So rather than join the fleeing crowd, he maneuvered his way through it, moving closer to where she had taken the certain stage. Her speech was one that suggested she could quite suitably fit into the Brotherhood, and he never stopped recruiting for the cause. She would be an excellent addition, and witnessing her skills now and her words that revealed her beliefs, was all he needed to know in order to make her an offer . . . or at the very least, converse with her further.
Before he could get to her, everything was pushed back, nearly colliding into him. He raised his hand out in front of him, using his powers to pull off a hubcap from one of the police's vehicles, and expanding it, using it as a shield to block at the incoming objects and people. When it was over, he casually tossed it tot he side, looking unfazed as he continued to walk forward. His purpose had shifted from doing research on the facility, to now meeting the mutant they called Pestilence. She saw her strikingly beautiful green hair; a color that matched her equally vibrant eyes. He did not know the details of her power, but from her public display, he could make a few educated guesses. "I hear they call you Pestilence," he said, when he was close enough to her so that his voice could be hurt without him raising it in all this surrounding chaos. "An unfortunate name, for it does not suit the mutant who is evidently so much more than that." It may refer to destructive and evil, but Magneto saw far more in that. He saw a potential that was great, one that would be so beneficial to mutant kind.

Lorna had not noticed him put up a shield of his own, until she turned and saw him tossing it away. How wonderful. Instead of a trite human spouting annoying pro-life philosophies, he was a mutant who had come to join her. Or wait. Metal. Bending. Controlling. No. He'd come to let her join him. He called her that name, and she rolled her eyes dramatically, clearly disapproving. "If you leave a human to do something they are going to do it wrong. I assume they were thinking I was pesty then. I doubt they think so now." Meaning she was building a name as someone more then just an annoying mutant but a fighter!
"I had you human. I was about to kill you." Before he proved himself to be better. "Glad I didn't. It would have been such a waste . . . Magneto." Yes, she was smart enough to figure out who he was. Hidden under the human clothes she had not known him, but she knew of his powers. He strong he was. How nothing could keep him in a jail. He was unstoppable, and with her by his side he would be immortalized in history for the great things he was doing. "I've been looking for you. I was rather hoping these displays would gain your attention." It was why she made them so public, and made sure everyone knew who was doing this. She had no time or will for pretending, or sneaking. She wanted her name in BOLD and there for everyone to fear! "I'm your newest solider. I'm going to be your best."
"Would you like a demonstration?" Because she wasn't done impressing him.

Her suggestion of nearly killing him almost made him smile, but he remained in his current expression. Her confidence further demonstrated how well suited she would be in the Brotherhood. But when she said that she had been looking for him, doing all this to seek his attention, and then state that she was his newest soldier . . . well, that made things far easier. For it meant he would not have to try and convince her. Her mind was already made up. It was enough to make him quite pleased for she was clearly quite powerful. And someone who embraced her powers rather than try to reject or deny them. Perfect qualities for a Brotherhood mutant. "I can already see that you are well suited for the Brotherhood." Fighting against humans, fighting for the cause, it was all connected. The cause was to create a world where humans were accepted and free from persecution.
That would inevitably result on attacks against humans as well. She offered another demonstration, and Magneto was never opposed to mutants showing their powers, especially in a society that condemned them for it -- which was what he obviously sought to change. Besides, it was not rare for Magneto to stroke the ego of a mutant. It was far too seldom in todays world where mutants were praised for their gifts. "Far be it from me to cease the natural progression of your public statement and display." Meaning, he wanted her to do what she would ordinarily, as if he was not here to witness it. "Humans do not often learn the first time," he told her. They were rather, unintelligent. He had been placed in multiple holding cells before they realized they needed a non metal facility . . . not that he had enjoyed that time in his life.

"I can already see that you are well suited for the Brotherhood." Lorna gave a self satisfied grin at his words and all buy gave a dramatic bow. Already suited! Already perfect for his army, and soon enough he would see that not only would she be perfect but she would topple the ones who stood in his way! She would bring this stupid war to the end it needed--chaos! Mutant power over the ants who once crawled too freely. "Far be it from me to cease the natural progression of your public statement and display." Rolling her shoulders, she moved a field around them, "Humans do not often learn the first time." "And like our single cell beginnings, they are no longer needed."
The new evolution was here. Pulling her field closer, she used it to nudge him closer to her so that she could be more showy with the things around her. "I can shield myself from anything." Which he was seeing with her invisible shield now. "Gravitation fields." Holding her hands out, everything within 20 feet of her shield begin to float up mindlessly to be 4 feet from the ground. Then she expanded her shield quickly, pushing it out to make everything be pushed away and crashing into the crowd, buildings, and making chaos fill the streets.
Laughing to herself, Lorna turned to look at Magneto. "Then there is the sickness. I never get ill, but I can share any illness I find and adapt it. Make it do what I want. Spread how I want." Lifting her hand, it glowed green as she wiggled her fingers.

It seemed that Magneto did not need to speak of his politics to convince her, nor ask her about her powers . . . she seemed all too pleased to express her views and demonstrate -- as well as tell him -- about her abilities. And that was, of course, perfectly fine with him. It made everything all the easier. She proved to be a mutant who was not afraid of their powers; who was willing to show it and oppose humans when they sought to persecute mutantkind. Yes. She was a rather perfect addition to the Brotherhood. Especially considering her powers as she further showed him and elaborated. He watched her build the invisible shield around them, using it to lift all surroundings things . . . before she forced it all back, causing it to destruct as the buildings crashed to the ground. The already panicked streets of the city intensified, as people screamed and ran amok. Sirens were heard in the near distance as they would soon approach. But that hardly posed as a threat. Magneto probably wouldn't even have to lift a finger, for she seemed perfectly capable of taking care of herself. Gravitation fields. Very interesting indeed. And his intrigue only grew when she went on to explain her secondary power, which explained the ill man that she had left in her path before departing from his company.
"Remarkable," he stated in a genuine tone of voice, filled with praise over her abilities. Mutants were seldom praised for their gifts and this was something that Magneto often sought to rectify. "Utterly magnificent," he added as he continued to watch the green pigment glow from her contrasting natural skin. "I can only imagine the potential you possess; the endless possibilities that your powers could bring upon this earth." Though he was complimenting her, his words were also sincere. He would not offer false praise; there was no point to that. He now knew that he no longer needed to see her abilities, but rather, hear about them. Hearing the sound of helicopters circulating them up in the air, Magneto raised his head, extending his hand, taking control of them all. He moved them so that all but one would collide into one another, creating a massive explosion. The one remaining, he forced down in a less than smooth landing, causing the pilot inside to fall to his death. When it was grounded not too far from them, he turned to the woman. "Allow me to formally extend you an invitation to the Brotherhood of Mutants. Will you accept?" For now the time had come for her to make a decision, and he sincerely hoped she did accept . . . though based on her words and actions, he was fairly confident in her answer.

"Remarkable," Lorna grinned, "Thank you," "Utterly magnificent," "I know." Why lie about it, she knew she was good, and better then most others. She was bold where they backed down, and free when they still were sheep. Now that she had found the other other like her, she could show him that she was changing the game, and soon he would recognize her as the best of the best! Other mutants were weak compared to her, and she would not lie and pretend other wise. "I can only imagine the potential you possess; the endless possibilities that your powers could bring upon this earth." Lorna also knew she still had much to learn, for even now she was learning how to do more and more, growing stronger and pushing herself to be greater. "I intend to rule it one day, a kingdom of mutants, and the only time the word human is spoken is in the same context as caveman. In the past."
"Allow me to formally extend you an invitation to the Brotherhood of Mutants. Will you accept?" Excellent. This is what she wanted, and even though she had told him already that she was joining he still asked her now. Her hands faded from the green glow to flesh colored, while she pulled the virus back so not to hurt him. Extending her hand out she took his in her grasp to shake it once. "Lorna Dane, a human name but I refuse to use the name the humans branded me with, and have yet to think of something that is worthy of me." Until then she was forced to use the name that was given to her at birth, rather then a name of freedom and power. "Do you want to stay and deal with what is coming, or shall we leave?" The humans were coming in numbers, and while she would love to stay and fight, she also knew that he was a wanted man and if they radioed in for more that like ants they would out number them to a great extend.

She intended to rule it. Interesting. It made him wonder if she wanted the ultimate power over humans by being the sole leader in this world . . . or if she wanted to fight against them to save the race of mutants. Magneto knew that a person's intentions were often quite relevant. Those within the Brotherhood wanted to help mutants, and often despised humans, but they were looking for someone to lead them. He pondered if it would be a source of conflict for her to be under the command of another. But, that was something that only time would tell. And despite the vast powers she possessed, he did not feel threatened by her. Perhaps it was arrogance, or immense confidence . . . or most likely, a mix of both. "Lorna," he repeated, slightly giving a nod of his head in acknowledgment. Pestilence was clearly one that she disliked, for it seemed to focus more on her second power rather than encompass all she could do.
"We will find a more fitting name for you," he promised her. After all, to give themselves a mutant name was integral when establishing their identities as mutants. To fully embrace their mutations and show the world that they were unafraid of doing so. She asked whether they should stay to deal with more of the authorities, or if they should depart. "You have made your mark here. One that will not be forgotten so soon." He may not know her, but he knew of her, and knew that this is what she enjoyed doing. "Let us go to the Brotherhood so that you may settle in your new home." For that was what the Brotherhood was; a home for those who displayed the courage, determination and strength to fight against persecution and oppression. With that, he went toward the helicopter that he had brought to them and extended his hand to her to help her inside before he followed suit.

"Lorna," A human name for a human girl. The name wasn't befitting her, and the second she could find a replacement then she would dismiss even that one. "We will find a more fitting name for you," "Perfect, because they both insult everything I stand for, and belittle me before the humans." She was no pest, nor human. She wanted to be something more. A goddess before them, feared and obeyed. Let the ants scramble around while she picked which one to squash one by one. Pestilence they had called her. No. She'd not let them give her such a name. She'd kill all who dare try to utter it toward her.
"Let us go to the Brotherhood so that you may settle in your new home." Yes, this was what she wanted. In with the brotherhood. Then she wanted to be the one by his side who command them and made them into the army that could take over the world. Following him to the copter, she missed his offered hand, assuming he was gesturing her to climb in, and just her powers to make the jump in like a step. She looked out at the humans, the dead and dying from her sickness, as the copter lifted up and began taking them from the battle. A few humans lifted their guns, and fired but Lorna put a shield around them until they were out of range. Then she moved to sit the the seat near him. "Today has gone better then planned. I had hoped to get your attention, and instead I get you."

Magneto could of course understand her disapproval over the appointed name that the humans had given her. The very fact that it was the humans who gave his name was enough of an issue. A mutant name should be chosen by the mutant themselves. Or at least approved by them. What right did humans have to refer to them by a name of their choice? They were already targeted in so many ways. And this was just their further attempt to control mutants. "Such will not be the case much longer," he assured her. For now she was part of the Brotherhood. And they did not tolerate any sort of belittling from humans.
They countered it; acted against them. Strategically and purposefully. He gave a slight smile when she moved to sit next to him, saying that she had hoped to gain his attention and instead, encountered him. "It was my intention to find you as well," he told her truthfully. "I knew the moment I heard of you that you would be well suited in the Brotherhood." The reports, and accounts of her powers. "I merely underestimated just how perfect your position here was. A mistake I hope is now rectified." For he had found her, and she was clearly eager to join. And well, she was now officially part of their group of mutant freedom fighters.
