Character Basics
.:Name of Character: James Howlett .:Species:. Mutant .:Alias:.Logan // Wolverine .:Year Born/Timeline:. Late 1880s .:Affiliation:. Nomad/X-Men
Appearance
.:Physical Appearance:. Some may describe him as a rustic, mountain man with a lupine-like coif. Tall, rugged and pumped, Logan has his strict Army Regime to thank for his toned, muscled body. Though he may be slightly top heavy, there is no problem with his natural balance. Donning more often than not the classic jeans and leather jacket you'd see those motorists wear as they cruised down Route 66. If you happen to catch him in one of those 'private' moments, topless and dirtied up - please, try not to swoon; it would ruin the moment. Some more unique features include: Animal-like canine teeth, two sets of three, foot-long retractable bone claws stored in his forearm, mutton chop sideburns, unique hairstyle, hirsute physique, and scar on the right of his face which extends from the cheek to the forehead and passes through the eye. .:Height:. 6ft 2in .:Portrayed by:. Hugh Jackman
Personality
.:Personality:. Wolverine is a fierce and thus fiercely loyal man. He is brawny, cranky, and has a temper. In fact, when Wolverine is fighting, he sometimes has berserker rages that you may want to watch out for. His knowledge of pseudo-invincibility allows him to literally live on the edge of reason, and he's going to try and push you off the edge. That said, he also has a good heart and his loyalty to those who have managed to chip away at his stone cold ticker is limitless. He is the epiphany of the "bad boy" with a short fuse and a tender heart—the loner who longs to belong.
.:Powers/Abilities:.
* Healing * Superhumanly Acute Senses * Superhuman Strength * Insulated Weather Adaptation * Animal Empathy * Bone Claws - Now replaced with Adamantium * Adamantium Poisoning Immunity (Thanks to Hank!) * Master Tactician * Master Martial Artist * Expert Marksman * Expert Swordsman * Skilled Acrobat * Advanced Covert Ops Expert * Skilled Mechanic * Multi-lingual
.: Weakness:. Weakness
Adamantium Weapons - Wolverine's adamantium claws cannot penetrate or destroy other adamantium weapons unless they are somehow super-heated (as seen in Origins). Additionally, adamantium weapons are one of the few things that can harm him following the bonding of adamantium to his body.
Decapitation - If Wolverine's head was to be decapitated, he wouldn't be able to regenerate/heal himself and thus, would die. However, with the indestructible adamantium bonded to his skeletal structure, this task becomes far more difficult.
Brain Damage - Although Wolverine can heal from brain damage, if it's severe enough, he will lose his memory, as seen when Colonel Stryker shot him repeatedly in the head with adamantium bullets, causing him enough brain damage that he lost much of his memory. Over decades the damage to Wolverine's memory may heal itself as well as by The Wolverine, Wolverine is shown to have at least started to regain his memory.
Drained Healing Factor - After Yashida drained Wolverine's healing factor through his severed claws, he began to age rapidly. Following Yashida's death, Wolverine's healing factor returned him to his youthful appearance. However, by the time of Days of Future Past Wolverine's temples have begun to grey. After two hundred years of his healing factor keeping him in his prime, Yashida appears to have removed some of his longevity when he became young. With the timeline reset, it is presumed that since he never battled Yashida, his longevity is restored.
Drowning - As shown in Days of Future Past, Wolverine is able to drown since his healing factor couldn't keep up while submerged. However, when he emerged from the water, his healing factor started to work again despite being submerged for an extended amount of time.
History
.:Birthplace:.Alberta, Canada .:Family:. All Deceased bar Step brother Victor. .:Occupation:. Nomad .:Current Location of Residence:. Nomad .:History:.
This history of this man is both long and complicated. Over a hundred years carved into his past, James has played part in some of the most extraordinary events in history, with nothing but a scar and a line of tombstones to show for his trouble. Born in northwest Canada, James began his tragic journey, for it all to end in an unknown past, shifted under the weight of amnesia.
When James was just 13, his mutation was first revealed. Consequently, he commits his first murder - His biological father, Thomas Logan. James runs away after his mother Elizabeth is horrified by her son's mutation. As he is running, Victor catches up with him and vows that since they were brothers, they would look out for each other no matter what. Over the next 120 years, James and Victor fought, side by side, for the United States in numerous wars - including the American Civil War, World War I (on the Western Front), World War II (both participating in the D-Day Invasion), and the Vietnam War.
In 1945, James saves the life of Ichirō Yashida, a young officer in the Japanese Imperial Army. After saving his life, Yashida thanks him and offers a Japanese samurai sword as a token gratitude. James refuses, but says to hold onto it for him, promising to return for it in the future. Yashida will later become the grand father of the only woman James really learns to love, Mariko Yashida.
During the Vietnam war, Team X became a part of his life. After being shot, surviving and thus being imprisoned by the Vietnamese officers, it was the only way out of their prison after Victor killed a senior officer and got them in that mess! These events are as blurry as most in his mind, as Amnesia has been the shutter on his past for many years. But it is in this time that, in exchange for enacting revenge against his step brother, did Logan agree to take part in the Striders Experiment. -Adamantium was strapped to him bones. It took only a shot in the head by Stryker with adamantium bullets for Logan to fall to the ground, unconscious - damaging his brain and losing much of his long-term memory
The following years are a blank slate for this man - the past, the present and the future has yet to be transcripted. The only thing that is sure, is that there are many wars to be fought, and this man will be on the front line.

Logan was never really used to attention and he spent a good deal of time trying to avoid it, but it seemed that fate had decided that once upon a time he would have a certain responsibility towards the ones around him. As fate would have it, there was one particular child he felt a stronger sense of protection towards. She was probably one of the only people that could get him to smile or laugh at times. So he was not shocked when Rouge bounded into the kitchen, catching him off guard as he reached for the beers he'd stored at the back of the fridge. He grinned, he couldn’t help, she had that cute little gap toothed smile on her face already and in a moment she had crossed the room and pulled him into an awkward embrace. Awkwardness aside, he managed to cut through his tough guy routine and hug her back, one hand still grasped around the chilled bottle of beer. Rogues hair tickled his nose and he couldn't help but run his fingers through the white streak as he pulled back. It was a constant reminder of her ordeal, of his failure to protect her. Never again.
”Hey kid.” Logan responded, though she was hardly a kid anymore. He supposed he had just gotten used to calling her that since he met her. That fateful day, when he gave her a ride. He remembered her stuffing her face with jerky like it was a the best thing she had ever tasted. Now she was older and hardly that scared kid anymore. Soon she would be wearing one of their suits and being called one of the X-Men as well. They'd probably end up working together and going on missions. Although it made him proud, he was not sure he was ready to see her getting into more trouble or into another possible life o death situation.
”I haven't even had a chance to sit down and you're already in need? Is this about a boy? Or do you need money for even longer boots?” Logan teased looking down at her sense of style. She certainly stood out on her own and she had a tendency to wear clothes that protected her skin from accidentally being touched. He couldn't help but lose his smile slightly at his thoughts. Remembering what it felt like to be touched by Rogue wasn't the best memory he had, but it certainly wasn't the worst. He pondered why she had even come into his room - but he let it go. He was just glad to be back home. Home? Yes. Home.
