Ashni ran a henna dipped finger down the balcony railing, she watched pensively as dusk fell on the Quarter, her eyes automatically catching and holding a tall dark hair man's, lips pulling into a beckoning smile. I know him...
Her eyes danced as she crooked a finger at him gesturing him to come in, she had seen the man in her dreams, and nightmares over the years. A savior and a terrible force all in one. Him she would not mind repaying in the oldest manner, she owed him her life of choice, and now perhaps she could show him how much she could give to him in return. She pulled her veil over her face coquettishly, "Welcome back."

Magneto did not often nor willingly frequent these places. But when there was an impending threat of humans against mutants, then he was the first one to appear. Despite his fugitive status, he was able to successfully enter the vicinity, using a hat and glass to further conceal his vision, while dressing in his usual sophisticated manner to allow him a refined look. What brought him to this place were whispers of humans coming to capture a mutant with certain gifts so that they could of course experiment on her. While that part was not confirmed, there was evidence to suggest and Magneto was not going to take any chances. He had publicly proclaimed himself as an active figure in this war between mutants and humans and he was not about to abandon his cause by allowing a group of homo sapiens to capture a mutant and unleash whatever torture and cruelty they planned to on her.
He had been keeping a careful eye on the woman. It wasn't until he saw her that he realized there was a chance he had crossed paths with her before . . . that she may have been someone he saw as a child. But that was not for certain. Yet, when she spoke to him and encouraged him to come closer to her, a slight smile formed on his lips, wondering if the connection he made with her, was indeed accurate. He walked toward her, a small smile in place as his eyes remained on her face. She was indeed an exotic beauty, clad in garments representative of where she was brought up, or at least in which culture. He wondered if she knew him because of the fact that he was a fugitive -- and the televised speech he had made -- or for another reason. He was leaning toward the latter, for she spoke to him with ease and without an ounce of trepidation, fear or uncertainty. "It almost sounds as if you were expecting me," he said in ever so slight teasing, an attempt to create a light air between them, though he still wondered if she was that same girl he once knew, for the profession remained and . . . once again, there was an odd familiarity about her.

Ashi smiled wider, he clearly did not recognize her, and why should he? Even if such a remarkable man remembered the events of 13 years ago that changed HER life, she was not the same sacred little girl. And she assumed his life was such that that day was just a blip to him.
"No, not expecting. But perhaps hoping." her English was softly accented. She gestured to the entrance below her. "Come in, have a drink."
He could easily be a frighting figure, but to her he was a solid presence, the years had been kind to him, he was still the tall hansom figure that had entranced her as a child.

She said that she had been hoping to see him, and that ever so slightly surprised him though he kept from revealing this surprise at her comment. Instead, he kept a small smile on his lips as she told him to enter, and have a drink. Little did she seem to know that she was the very reason he had come here. He planned on confronting those who wished to capture her yet in the meantime, her company was rather welcome. Besides, it was her that he had to keep an eye on anyway. "Only if you are able to grace me with the pleasure of your company," he told her upon her encouragement for him to enter and have a drink. What better way to keep an eye on her than to have her with him.
He motioned with his hand toward the entrance as further encouragement for her to join him. "Allow me to buy you a drink," he further offered. He was unsure if he would explain to her the reason for his being here, though he supposed soon enough, she would find out. Perhaps it better she was prepared. And of course on an entirely other note, he was rather intrigued by the gifts he had heard she was rumored to possessed. Like any other mutant, he was immensely interested to learn more about them, and that was a conversation that he hoped could easily be had over a drink.

Ashni laughed musically leading him into a fabric draped alcove. "That was my intention." she draped her hand on his arm tugging him gently. "What brings you to Lahore?" she pressed him softly into the couch, "Looking for company? Or simply having a vacation?" she waved a languid hand, a young boy set down a tray with a bottle of clear liquor and two small glasses. She did truly wonder why he had come back, but his motivation was less important then repaying her debt to him, Ashni poured the clear liquid expertly her movements precisely ritualistic.

She gave a melodic laughter and led him to a more private area, as she spoke of how it was her intention to join him. It was evident that she had a very natural grace about her -- whether she was born with it or it was developed over time was unbeknown to him. It was also clear that she was an expert in this field of, what was it, escorting? Offering men her company? An alluring and captivating figure indeed. He could see how others would be easily entranced by her. She gently pushed him to the couch as she questioned his reason for being here. Truth was, he had been here to intercept the exchange of important information that was relevant for a larger operation. It had just been luck -- or perhaps fate -- that he had come across additional information about her being in danger. "Neither," he answered casually with a continued smile on his lips.
"I am here on business," he told her. He didn't need to go into details, not yet anyway. He watched her pour the liquor given to them, and thought for a moment. "I was here many years ago," he revealed. While he did not often offer details of his personal life, he wanted to resolve this feeling of familiarity. At least part of it. It had indeed been quite some time ago . . . back when he was hunting Shaw. Back when he was just Erik, not Magneto. "I wonder if I had made your acquaintance then?" He both asked and state. For part of him was going with his gut, and the other part of him unsure. Though if it was latter, he knew he could easily sway it to be a charming compliment rather than simply a mistake. It was that odd familiarity he had initially felt for the young girl that had given him the thought that it was the same woman who stood before him now. Besides, she had after all welcomed him back. He did not think the assumption was too far fetched.

Ah so he remembered the trip at least, she hid a smile behind her henna painted hand, "I remember you, but you made a formidable. Impression on me."It amused her to not answer his questions directly, even after witnessing his powers first hand could she find it in herself to truly fear him. She had known enough cruel men to gauge her safety, and she was no longer the terrified six year old watching brutally unmatched battle. Now if pressed she had her own strage luck to rely on. Who would win? I question I have no desire to experiment with.
Even sitting next to him she still felt tiny in comparison to his height, she leaned back on the sofa arm, Hands playing with on of her necklaces intentionally drawing his eyes to her body "An impression I sadly did not leave on you." she flirted at him. "What sort of business is a great man as your self in?"
Ashni ran her eyes up his body interest clear in them. "And can I help facilitate it?"

She spoke of how he had made quite the impression on her, and he was fairly certain that she was who had assumed her to be. For there was no one else that he had interacted with; no one that would have had such a similar position as she did. She then went on to say that she did not make an impression on him, and that caused his smile to turn slightly into one of amusement. Unless she was a mutant -- though he knew now she was -- seldom did humans leave an impression on him. Obviously, there were exceptions. But at the time, he had been focused and practically obsessed with finding Shaw. Now that that was set aside, he could focus on the current cause he fought for. He watched her, taking in her tone of voice and body language. Part of him wondered how much of an act this was for her to make the money she often did with this kind of behavior . . . and how much of this was genuine. She was obviously a woman with great appeal and undoubtedly knew how to successfully seduce a man. Either way, his purpose of being here was her. And this made it rather convenient. Even more so that she did not speak to him with any semblance of fear. "Then perhaps now is the time to rectify that," he told her with a smile as he picked up the glass which contained his drink, referring to her words of not having left an impression on him then.
He spoke to her as he spoke to most: with the attempt to hold their attention through the use of charm and charisma, as the conversation progressed to what he intended it to. Her question made it easier to introduce that subject as she questioned what business he had, and even flirtatiously offered to assist him. "Would you believe me if I were to tell you that my business here involves you?" He asked, expecting her to take that as she would. He would further elaborate though. He set the glass down, his eyes going to her necklace as he began to raise his hand and with his powers, began to raise her necklace. Not off of her neck, but merely gently pulling it from her grasp, and allowing it to float in the air. Luckily, there were metal parts in it which enabled him to utilize his powers. "If you remember me, then you remember what I can do," he began to say, making it obvious with what he did now, though expected her to recall his abilities from the past. If she remembered him, then surely that was why. He released his magnetic hold on her necklace, allowing it to fall back in its place. "And now, I am very much interested in seeing what you can do," he told her, continuing to smile. The suggestiveness in his voice was more geared toward her mutant powers. But again, she would take that as she would. He was indeed prepared to clarify if need be. His words were meant to show that he knew she was a mutant, and that was the reason he had come here.

Ashni's smile was slow and languid, his business involved her? She would happily repay her debit to him in the coin of his choosing , He is even more charming when I can understand him. She shivered with anticipation when he said he would rectify her impression, Ashni arched as he pulled her necklace away from her hands, she showed no fear only a slightly amused look as her lips pressed together. "Oh yes I remember." She said referencing his powers, she had been a terrified little girl, and he had been both a savior and demon to her. Even then she had known she was less then nothing to him, but it had not mattered to her because she Had been less then nothing. Show him what she could do? Ashni flowed upwards hand on his forearm "Tonight I will show you anything you wish." she whispered pressing her body against his. He had saved her innocence for another day, he had forced the house to restructure allowing the women to take over again. For that... "Let me take care of you." she kissed him, running a henna covered hand down the side of his face. She had no concept he was speaking about mutant powers, in the Market there were no TV's exept one. No news filtered down into their world, as far she knew she was simply...lucky, or unlucky as the case may be since others were gaining suspicions. Her powers were still only partially under her conscious control, so even if she had understood....it was even odds if she could produce on command.

Ashini smiled slow and languid, so he wanted to rectify her impression? He was more charming when she could understand him. He was here for her? So then for him it was no great chore. She arched when he pulled her necklace out of her fingers, oh yes she remembered. "I Remember..." she had been a terrified child then, and he had been a larger in the life figure, a cold harsh savior. But his actions unintentional though they might have been in regards to her life made it possible for the women to take control of the house, and for Ashni to retain her innocents for much longer. And for that...she would repay him in what ever coin he desired. Ashni pulled herself up in a single flowing movement her hand on his arm, the bangles at her ankles chiming. "What I can do?" she whispered pressing her body into his side, she reacted to his statement like she would any man, the idea that he was speaking about her powers never occurred to her, Ashni's powers were still not always under her conscious control. "Tonight I will do what ever you wish, show you what ever you desire." she said against his lips "Let me take care of you." she kissed him.

She remembered. Excellent. He would not have to explain it again. The fact that she did not even flinch when he used his powers was rather, helpful. For the fact that she did not fear him meant that he could further convince her of his true purpose in being here. And perhaps even discover more about her powers. Determine her interest in the Brotherhood's cause. He watched her as she rose to her feet and moved closer to him. It was clear that she had mastered the act of seduction. Or well, art of seduction rather. If he was not the man he was, perhaps he would have succumbed to it. But he was all too aware of everything. And had never been one to mix up his priorities. So despite his pleasure in her lacking fear of him, and even comfort she felt in his company, he was not going to mix business with pleasure. When she made her advances, whispering suggestive promises to him, and leaned to seal the distance between us, he turned abruptly turned his head to the side. Many, many years ago -- when he was a younger man -- he may entertain this. But not now. He was the leader of the Brotherhood. And not only that . . . but Magda was not far from his mind either. In the past he had entertained such intimacies with others -- Mystique and Lana just as examples -- but now, he could not and would not do that.
He kept his head to the side to make his stance known and slightly leaned back to break any distance between their faces. "I am not here for that," he stated, his tone still calm and composed, but filled with certainty. He was not going to change his mind about this. Besides, surely this was all because of her natural instinct. This was what she had worked as her entire life, so he should not be surprised that she continued to do so now. He merely wanted to make it clear where he stood; and make it understood that he had not come here to fulfill any sexual desires. "What I desire," he began to say, using the exact word she had. "Is for you to not show me what you can do as a woman, but rather, what you can do as a mutant." He was unsure as to whether she was familiar with this word or not, and hoped that it would spark enough intrigue or curiosity in her to question it. It had been his own fault for not being clear, perhaps even playing with his terminology to see how she would take it. But he knew that now was the time to explain himself . . . before his motive for being here was even more misconstrued.

Ashni raised her eyebrows as he rejected her advance was he perhaps one that favored men? She opened her mouth to offer to him that she could find someone more to his liking when he said Mutant. "Mutant?" she sounded offended drawing back. Ashni wiggled her nose, what was he saying? That she was defective somehow? She owed this man a lot but not so much that she would willingly take insults. Unless... "Is this a game?" She purred. pouring them both another glass. "If you do not like women there are other....things that can be done." she said slipping slowly.
Ashni had no experience with mutants beyond Erik and herself. She didnt even recognize that they both were of the same new species, as far as she knew he was a type of yogi, and she a natural witch. There was such a lack of communication or knowledge from outside the quarter that for her whole life these few block WERE her entire world. Visitors came and went, bringing a few hours or days of distraction of new thoughts, but they always left, she stayed behind waiting wondering, but ultimately ignorant.
Ashni curbed her flash of anger, knowing even more then a regular man this one had the power, literally to hurt her. "I do not know your full name." she muttered.

It was evident that he had offended her and while that was not his intention, she withdrew from him, questioning his choice of words. He imagined she did not get such rejection very often. Why and how would she? She was clearly very good at what she did. And had the physical attractiveness to support her actions. She then asked if this was a game, and further inquired as to whether he did not like women . . . hinting that he may like men. Magneto could have commented, but it was not about defending his sexual orientation. He would not bother doing so. Instead, a small smile returned to his lips, striving to regain that lack of tension between them. He knew he had to explain himself. "Erik Lehnsherr," he introduced, extending his hand to her as a formality; and out of respect. He was not here to take advantage of her beauty or profession. He wanted her to understand that and realize that he respected her as a mutant. Not as an object of desire.
"But most know me as Magneto." That was after all his real name; the name that was hunted and on the Most Wanted list worldwide. He knew what her name was, for he had done his research prior to coming here. He knew exactly who to look for, and had conveniently found her quite easy. "You are Ashni Bedi," he continued to say, not about to deceive her by withholding information from her. He valued honesty, which was perhaps why he had never lied to anyway. He would rather be brutally honest than conceal the truth. "And you, are a mutant," he said in a tone that made it sound like a praise and compliment. She had questioned the word, revealing her offense after wards and he wanted to clarify that he had not meant anything bad by it. The word itself was a praise, and he said it with pride and admiration. For any mutant deserved that. "Are you familiar with the term or its meaning?" He asked, deciding to see how much he knew so that he would not be redundant in case he told her information she was already familiar with. He would focus on what she may not know rather than what she may already be aware of.

Ashni smiled "Erik." she took his hand lightly more a caress then a shake, she could sense that he was oddly...respectful? Of her, why? And then why call her names? Ashni ran her fingertips up his wrist still attempting to gain some control over the situation in a way she was use to, that she knew the rules too. "You know my name." a confident smile lit up her face, if he had spent that much effort to know her name, even if he had forgotten her as a child meant that he came here looking for her. And men only came looking for her for one reason. Mutant, that word again, but his inflictions, the way it curled around his tongue made it sound like a praise and not a curse. "Mutant...deviant, unclean, unnatural." she tried to define the word, as he requested. She wasn't sure why he kept calling her that, and it did not please her at all. "Magneto?" she frowned deeper, the name was slightly familiar, perhaps a patron had mentioned it? "I would prefer not to be called such names." A tiny hint of her outrage bleeding though, her expression as she stepped back into his space looking up at him.

She spoke his name, and he ever so slightly smiled. He preferred Magneto now. For that was his true mutant name. That was the name he wished to be known by in the world; from both mutants and humans. She then stated how he knew her name and seemed rather pleased by this. He couldn't say he knew everything about her, but he knew her name and that she was a mutant. That was the only important information he need know. Oh, and of course the fact that she was in danger at the hands of humans. A small detail he had yet to reveal. For the time being, he would work on getting better acquainted with her, for she was not a child any more. And there was no longer the barrier of language, or even his own barrier of anger. She then repeated mutant and then listed words that she seemed to associate with the term. How wrong she was. None of those were accurate descriptions. They were all so, negative. So oppressive. And she went on to say how she preferred not to be called it. If only she knew what it meant to be a mutant.
But that was why he was here; to enlighten her to what she was if she may not already know. "No," he said, still calm, still composed. "Superior. Powerful. Exceptional." Just a few of the many words that could describe mutants. "Being called a mutant is not an insult; it is a privilege," he further clarified. "For in this world, exist two races: humans and mutants. Mutants such as you and I are the superior race, for we possess abilities that humans can not even begin to comprehend." There were even powers out there that Magneto were unaware of, until he met a mutant who possessed them. "Is there not something that you can do which you can not explain? You do not know how it happens or why it happens, only that there is an undeniable power within you that manifests in certain situations." Whether it was prompted by a strong emotion [fear, happiness, sorrow, etc] or if it just spontaneously happened. He was unsure if she was even aware of her gifts, so was slowly easing the conversation to them, to see how much she knew about what she could do.

"Erik." She ran a light finger down his face, still trying to regain control of the situation, "A privilege? Powerful, exceptional?" she smiled, her nail following the contours of his face. "I think you need a dictionary." her light laugh tinkled through the air. Why would he believe like that? She was willing to indulge him in this, if he wanted to redefine the world then she would smile and agree.
"Is there not something that you can do which you can not explain? You do not know how it happens or why it happens, only that there is an undeniable power within you that manifests in certain situations."
It was only her training in hiding her true emotions that stopped the fear from her expression, it could not how ever stop the slight paling of her features as the blood drained from her face. How could he know? How did he guess? Even though he flaunted his own abilities, she had learned to fear her own. Of course that very fear caused her mutation to try and push forward, the fingers running over his lips started to sparkle tiny flecks of red, mostly hidden by the henna designs. "I dont think I know what you mean." she smiled easily, the lie tripping of her tongue with out a hitch. "Except for my power as a woman." she licked her lips suggestively. He was not the first that tried to out her, and as yet she had not been caught.

Her actions were distracting. Not to him, but to herself. It seemed that she was trying to convince him to change his mind about what he had said; to alter his motive for coming here and be like all the other men who she had encountered. But he was not. Nor would he be so easily swayed, despite her efforts. A weaker man may succumb. But he as he had previously stated, he was not here for that. There seemed to be a glimmer of hope when he noticed her non verbal reaction to his words, and then denied them; stating that she did not know what he was referring to before she returned to her suggestive and flirtatious remarks. He raised his hand, using the metal that formed her bangles to control her wrist as he used his powers to wave her hand away from his face so that they were no longer in contact. It was not done aggressively, but rather, as a way to further attempt to discourage her actions.
"I think you do," he countered, challenging her statement of denial. She was continuing to use her femininity to deflect any acknowledgment for her mutation. He supposed it made sense. After all, this seemed to be far more natural for her than using her mutant powers. Releasing his magnetic hold on her wrist, he allowed her the freedom to move as he leaned forward to take another drink before leaning back in his seat. "Your powers as a woman will only take you so far. It is time you focus on your powers as a mutant, for they will give you far more strength than you could ever imagine." Regardless of what her power was, it would indeed be a remarkable one. Of that, he had no doubt whatsoever. "Besides, I did not come here to see your capabilities as a woman." He came to see her capabilities as a mutant. But he wished to reiterate that so that she was well aware of the fact that he had no expectations for . . . well, for whatever she was hired to do in this venue. He had come here to help her, not to have her.

Ashni's eyes were wide as her bangles pulled her hand away from his face, seemingly of their own accord. "Why do you seem so sure I am a...mutant?" she said the word hesitantly. As soon as she felt the pull on her wrist end she just managed to avoid snatching it back turning the motion into a sweep to readjust her saree. She was attempting to tramp down on the fear, knowing that if she succumbed to it her powers.. mutation? would break the chains she had forged around them in half ignorance. Even with her intentional work to calm herself she felt the odd tightening, almost a contraction of mental muscles.
"Tell me about the power you say I have beyond my body." she raised an eyebrow, if he was telling the truth, and he knew what did he want from her? "What strength do you think I have?" He was clearly not interested in anything she had to offer physically, an oddity in of its self. She turned taking up the decanter, "You should know I am quite weak." she said with small smile filling his glass, The factory that had made the bottle had cut a tiny bit of time off the finishing, allowing a bubble in the glass near the base, the hard liquor inside of it had been slowly eating away at the structure, her faulty control of her mutation found and exploited that small chance of failure the decanter shattered in her hands.
Ashni was stunned for a second, tiny shards of glass mixing with the metal sheathing fell to the floor some catching in her saree. "Im sorry." she whispered pale. "I'll get a new one." she turned to leave.

For the firs time, she seemed to be entertaining the fact that she was a mutant. Whether she was simply humoring him, or said it with at least a little belief, had yet to be determined. "Had I not already known prior to coming here, then your reaction to my words would have solidified it." Her reaction to when he had spoke of unexplainable things happening; of incidents occurring that she could not control. The details of her powers was left unknown to him, but whatever they were, a group of humans had gotten wind of it and wished to capture her for them. He was about to answer her next question regarding him informing her of what powers he said she had . . . before the glass shattered. Magneto was unsure of precisely what had happened, but he saw her reaction. There was more to it than just broken glass. And this could be linked to her mutation. The slight possibility was enough to make him rather focused on the incident, and find out more about it. "There is no need," he told her calmly, not yet wanting her to depart for it would be an easy avoidance of what had just occurred.
As there was metal mixed in, he raised his hand to expand one of the pieces, creating it into a small square platform and used it to slide the broken shards of glass into a pile, and off to the corner of the room. He then refocused his attention on Ashni, a smile on his lips. "What just happened?" He asked her. "Something tells me there was more to what happened than what I just witnessed." A deeper meaning to it. Otherwise, she would not have reacted in such a pale that caused her complexion to pale. He slightly leaned forward, toward her but not suggestively. "You are far from weak, Ashni," he told her intently. "For you possess a power deep within you, just waiting to be unleashed." His words were no longer playing with suggestion as his tone grew slightly more serious rather than any semblance of playfulness. "So tell me, what is it that frightens you? What makes your complexion so pale when I speak of incidents that occur which you have no control over. Such what just happened." Her reaction to the glass reminded him of her reaction to his previous words. Surely, there was a correlation. His voice was sincere, as he genuinely wished to learn more of her abilities, and genuinely wished to help her however he could.

She made a sudden intuitive leap. "Metal..its only metal you can control isnt it?" she raised her eyes to him defiantly. Perhaps she could win if he threatened her. "Or you would have picked out all the glass, and not just used the filigree to contain it." She took another step back shaking of the last bits of glass, her saree stained with the contents of the decanter making a heady smell. "Why do you want to know? What will you do if I confide knowledge?" she moved her right hand behind her back fingers moving in a complex shape, her mind tumbling over more familiar paths as she allowed her power to humm and sing in her veins.
She trusted him more then anyother man, but that did not mean that she trusted him with her survival, there had to be a reason, one that a man like him needed a woman like her. And not for the usual tasks. "What will you do to me?"
