.:Physical Appearance:. Aurelia has very unique features. She has tanned skin which is reflective of her cultural heritage. Her eyes are hazel brown and she has freckles sprinkled along her nose and upper cheeks. Her hair is black and falls well down her back, naturally wavy but she styles it in different ways. She has a slender figure and stands tall at 5"7'. When she is with her Romani people, she dresses in a very traditional way. It often consists of a simple dress with a scarf. She wears little to no make up when she is with them, being as natural as she can be. When she is performing, she dresses in more mainstream clothing which consists of form fitting dresses of a higher quality. She also wears make up, bright lipsticks and make up to emphasize her eyes. She often styles her hair in curls to up dos. Overall, her appearance as a performer is one of a sophisticated and elegant manner.

Personality

.:Personality:. Aurelia is a private woman, not often divulging a great deal about herself. As Mirela, she tends to be more withdrawn, keeping everything strictly business and avoiding from making any friends to creating ties from this more city centered life. She speaks minimally, though her passion comes out when she sings, able to easily capture a crowd with her voice. When she is with her people, as Aurelia, she is far more relaxed. She is able to joke around and be more at ease, though concern for her mother often overshadows most all else.
.:Powers/Abilities:. Aurelia possesses the power of casting illusions. This involves the ability to cause a person to see something that is not actually there or not see something that is. These hallucinations though false, can be very convincing and allow a person to actually believe that they are physically touching or experiencing the illusion. Her weakness is that is can be physically draining on her, and she is inexperienced with this power.

.:History:. Aurelia was born in Russia into a simple family of gypsies. Their lifestyle was a nomadic one as she often traveled with her band consisting of a few families. Her father passed away when she was extremely young due to illness, making her and her mother extremely close. She has no siblings, yet those within her traveling group are her family. They moved around quite a bit, making coin where they could. From an extremely young age, Aurelia quite enjoyed singing and worked on perfecting her voice which would allow them to make coin here and there to passerbys who shared appreciation for vocal abilities.

Life seemed wonderful and simple, however, as Aurelia grew older, she began to understand life and become less sheltered from it: they were in a time of war. When she was five, she and her band were captured and sent to a concentration camp, consequently Auschwitz as they were in Poland at the time. As all other children, she was separated from her mother and endured grueling and dark circumstances for the next two years. She could be considered fortunate as this was how long she spent in the camps compared to others. When the war ended, chaos ensued and she was once again fortunate to be reunited with her mother and a few of the other gypsies she had once called family.

As time went on, they continued to travel, unable to cover expenses for simple necessities such as food and clothing. It was also a little time following the war that Aurelia's powers began to manifest, however not in the best of ways. Because she was so close to her mother and spent a great deal of time with, her, she was unable to control her power of illusion and would unknowingly cast illusions before her mother's eyes. Her mother thus would see things that were not actually there, and soon, she began to be deemed insane. Because of the cultural implications, some believed that it was of a demonic nature, and that her mother was cursed. She began to become ostracized from the others due to this fear, though Aurelia stayed with her. Unfortunately, the more time Aurelia spent with her mother, the more her mother hallucinated.

They became isolated from the others, and her mother's health began to deteriorate. Aurelia knew that something had to be done to allow them back into the company and care for the others. She managed to convince them to travel to Europe and once there, she began to sing for coin. Once again, fortune returned to her for she became discovered and her popularity as a performer grew. She began singing at upper class clubs and other places throughout the continent. With this came money, and she was able to give it to her gypsy band, under the agreement that they would take care of her mother.

Aurelia used the stage name Mirela, and she, with her gypsy group, travel throughout Europe and America where she strengthens her career as a singer and gives the money she makes to help care for her people. She spends most days a week in the city and goes on weekends to the more rural areas where her family remain. Her mother's condition is also seemingly improving because as Aurelia spends less time with her, her mother hallucinates less. Aurelia still does not completely understand nor acknowledge her abilities. She knows that if she wills it, she can make a person see, or not see, what she wants them to. But she can not explain it. Nor has she told anyone about this.

Sample Post

Mirela ha just finished her show and was preparing to return back to where her band had made camp for the night. She was currently in her hotel room, taking off her jewelry and unpinning her hair. She then began to wipe off her make up and changed into less, fancy clothing. She had successfully transformed from Mirela, back to Aurelia, where she felt more comfortable. She felt more like herself now. Though she loved singing, she knew she had to create a certain image to be able to perform where she did. So she was always so grateful and relieved for these opportunities to return to her camp, where she could just be herself.

She pocketed most of the money she made for the day, and stopped off at a restaurant to order some food to take to them. She then took a cab halfway, walking the rest as they had set up camp deep into the woods, though she knew the way quite well. They had been here for some time, due to Aurelia's work as it now often centered around where she could perform, as that was how they were getting most of their money. Upon arriving, she saw a few people sitting around the fire while the rest were asleep. They greeted her, their eyes going to the food which she passed them, and then made a plate for her mother.

She saw her mother sitting off to the side with a blanket shrouded around her. She moved to sit next to her she passed her the plate which her mother immediately took. Aurelia glanced behind her, seeing that the others were distracted with the food. She then turned to her mother again, speaking in a very low and hushed voice. "Are they treating you well?" She asked, wanting to make sure they kept up with their agreement. "Yes," he mother answered. "Very." Aurelia felt a wave of relief wash over her.

"They stopped coming... the visions." Aurelia looked at her mother as she revealed this, once again, feeling relieved. Her mother's health was improving and she could not be more happy to know that. "Good," she answered softly, her lips curving into a smile. She then rested the side of her head on her mother's shoulder, closing her eyes and feeling that familiar maternal comfort that always exuding from her mother whenever she was with her.
