Pyro setting: the city timeline: post dark phoenix notes: none!
| Pyro could practically feel the tension with Lorna and his . . . date? He didn't even know what the hell to call him anymore. Pyro didn't exactly develop deep romantic relationships. But, this guy was the closest one he had in a long time. Since the school. Getting too close and potentially getting burned -- figuratively speaking -- was always in the back of Pyro's mind. But right now, he was enjoying his company, for the most part. The two had gone to play pool in what Pyro assumed was supposed to be a date, only Lorna came along which made it less of a date and more of friends hanging out. He could tell Jackson was not too pleased with that though.
The way his mood shifted, and the way he was short in conversation. Pyro knew this hadn't been the first time Lorna had . . . joined them. Pyro knew better than to say no to her. Besides, he wasn't even sure he wanted to. Pyro was taking a drink of his beer when Jackson walked up to him, saying that they needed to talk. Well, even Pyro wasn't that much of an idiot that he didn't know what it meant. "Sounds serious," he said jokingly, trying to play it off, but the other male's expression was unmoved. So Pyro tried to put his serious face on. "You wanna talk here or outside?" He asked, wondering just how serious and dramatic this was going to get.

She could play nice! She was playing nice right now! Lorna wasn't cheating at pool, and she was actually trying to not make the guy (whatever his name was) look like an idiot. She knew Pyro liked him, and she was trying not make an ass of herself. Pyro was her friend, and she reacted badly that once she walked in on them. She wasn't even jealous of the sex--just the idea that if he fell in love then he might leave her. She didn't like being alone. She wasn't ready to be alone again.
That was before the boy toy started pouting and then demanding to talk. She knew Pyro liked him, but she didn't like him. Not just because he took up time with her friend but because she wanted someone who was better for him. She knew of his past, and she wanted someone who wasn't as needy as her. Someone better then this guy. Someone who made him happy--and that didn't mind her being there all the time.
Lorna propped the pool stick on the ground and turned to look at them. She wasn't stupid. She knew were this was going. "Might as well say what you gonna say." she snapped out.
