Life in Genosha was quiet, though there was always something to do. It was still developing, perhaps more rapidly with the number of mutants that came in. Luca couldn't help but the militant faction: the Brotherhood. It was up his ally far more than being a mere civilian. But, he knew better than to offer himself for such a position. He was not yet recovered; not yet healed. And he had to believe that one day, he would be. With limited -- to practically no -- use of his powers, his brain would surely heal. For he refused to end up like his father had. So remaining idle was not an option. He had instead, offered to aid in the construction of homes. He could move wood and lay brick. Another green haired woman was assisting in the task, through the use of her powers. Was it really so easy to use them without such severe repercussions as his own? A question he would dare not ask, for it would expose his weaknesses. So instead, he would just quietly work. Work and watch as she moved the objects with ease, aligning the structure as they stabilized it. He knew her name but not much more than that. A name was enough of a personal connection that Luca had often be void of for so many years. An identity. One he regained being on this island for he was no longer Black Swan. He was simply, Luca Sandoval. "Take a break!" He heard someone yell. Luca put down the last piece of wood before the crowd dispersed. He went to fill the small small of water from the pump, putting his hand on it and stopping for a moment. Staring at it, and hoping no one noticed. It was frustrating, to say the least. Especially when he was so aware of the delay. Proceeding to pump the water out he filled his cup though did not realize someone was behind him, and by the time he did, it was too late. He turned around, bumping into the very green haired woman he had been glancing at as the water spilled all over . . . well, her mostly. He looked down, belatedly realizing what had happened and it would take him several moments to absorb the sight enough to apologize. |
