Character Basics
.:Name of Character: Ryan James
.:Species:. Mutant
.:Alias: Speedster, the.
.:Year Born/Timeline: 1998/Origiinal trilogy timeline.
.:Affiliation:. X-men
Appearance
.:Physical Appearance:. Ryan is a tall, debatably handsome youth. His height and an acute propensity for acquiring facial hair make him seem older than he is. He is rairly caught without an elvish grin under an unkempt mop of ginger hair. He is thin and reasonably fit, due to his x-men training.
.:Height:6'2"
.:Portrayed by: Ed Sheeran
Personality
.:Personality: Ryan is a speedster (mutant/meta-human with super speed) and has the temperament commonly asociated with this power: he can be quite impatient at times and has a painfully short attention span. An impressive level of emotional maturity can be coaxed out of him under the right circumstances, but he prefers to hide behind somewhat childish behavior and sarcastic remarks.
he has become eXtremely reliant on his power and uses it very liberally. He is more than comfortable with being a mutant and is round to call himself an X-man.
growing up reading comics, Ryan has based his life on the teachings of Characters like Spider-man and Superman. He holds himself just as morally accountable.
.:Powers/Abilities: As mentioned before, Ryan is a speedster. He can accelerate both his muscle movements and brain activity at will to an undiscovered limit. He does not, however, have the molecular control associated with the D.C. super hero, the Flash. He also has a significantly accelerated metabolism and must consume vast amounts of calories to keep his body running.
History
.:Birthplace: Portland, Oregon
.:Family: Carla James, mother, Homo Sapien, alive; Timothy James, father, Homo Sapien, alive.
.:Occupation: Full-time student at Charles Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters.
.:Current Location of Residence: 1407 Graymalkin Lane, North Salem, NY 10560 (or, whatever you consider to be the school's address. This is what Google gave me, and I didn't feel like doing real research).
.:History: Ryan was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. A city that hell-bent on being different naturally is one of the most accepting environments for a young mutant to grow up in. When his power manifested (at age thirteen), he didn't feel compelled to hide it like most mutants. Due to this, he has a fairly acute mastery of his power.
Ryan's parents always pushed him to be the best that he could be. Though neither of them are mutants themselves, they always supported Ryan in testing his power. Ryan also made many friends at school, humans and mutants alike. He enjoyed his childhood and loved his home town, so he didn't want to leave. However, he felt that becoming an X-man was his destiny and wanted to uphold the teams values of justice and equality.
Ryan has always used his powers quite liberally most frequently to stop bullying/crime. He has a strong sense of morality and lives by the idea that with great power comes great responsibility.
Sample Post
Ryan had been studying for almost ten minutes now, and he felt like he was going to explode! He just couldn't handle being cooped up, being forced to solve this endless succession of repetitive math problems.
He decided to go for a run.
He shut his eyes and he felt the familiar little tickle in the back of his mind. When he opened his eyes, the wind outside seemed to have stopped. He gently tossed his pencil into the air where it slowly continued its upward momentum after he let go.
I'll be back before it hits the ground. He thought to himself before zipping out his bedroom door.
He made it down the hallway, down the main stairs, and out the front door in a fraction of a second, grabbing his sunglasses just before exiting.
Once his feet hit the pavement, he really started to book it! All his neighbors could see was a blur racing through the hilly suburbs. Every time he came to the end of an incline, he would take off into a soaring jump; emitting euphoric yells as he flew.
It was impossible for him to describe the feeling. As he travelled, his eyes saw everything in slow motion, as if he were moving at normal speed and everything else conveniently slowed down for him. However, he was still aware of his speed, as the wind struck his face; and he could feel the power that his legs were producing each time they hit the ground, propelling him forward. To him, it was the best feeling in the world.
As he entered the heart of the city, he was fortunate enough to glimpse a mugging before running past it.
Three brawny boys in their late teens were attacking a chubby pre-teen. Two of the assailants were kicking the kid on the ground, while the third rummaged through his backpack. Ryan decided that he could take some time out of his run to help the kid out.
before one of the muggers could land his next kick, Ryan promptly turned him and aimed his foot at the groin of his partner. After doing the same with the second kicker, he picked the kid up. Ryan returned the kid's backpack and guided his hand toward the third bully's jaw, making a satisfying punch.
Before he left, Ryan couldn't help but notice a comic book sticking out of the kid's backpack. It was an issue of the Flash. Ryan couldn't resist the temptation to sign it as the scarlet speedster himself.
To my friend; I always got your back, kid.
