Every New Friend is a New Adventure,
Magda owned a little tea shop. It was hard for her to believe that she would eventually let roots grow under her feet, but as she grew older she began to want to stay in one place. To build something with meaning. To do something that mattered. So, she found a warm place in the world, not too hot, not too cold--and began making it home.
Over the years she made a made for herself in the local communities for giving palm readings, and tea leave readings to guest. The old women liked it, and it made her fell welcome. Her shop was small, but perfect for it. For now. As over the years she became known, on much more private level, for something else--a safe place for mutants to hide. She only asked one thing of them--no violence inside her shop. They'd come in in all shapes. Sometimes running from their parents, sometimes from out of town and passing by, sometimes sick with their powers affected, sometimes injured; and she'd help them. She knew all too well what it was like to be hunted and afraid. She had thought Erik was the only one, but with so may now . . . she knew what was coming. They would be blamed, feared, and eventually . . . worse.
They always seemed surprised she was human, but she assured them they were safe.
Hearing the chimes out front in her shop she called up, "I'll be right there," in the local language but her voice still help her Polish accent. She lifted a heavy box of new flavored teas in fancy tins, and carried it through the beads that served as a wall from the store room to the shop. Without looking at her guest she spoke as she paid attention, instead, to the counter so she could sit it there. "I'll be right with you." She lifted the box to the counter and pushed it back. Looking down she brushed off the dust from her shirt before turning to greet the new customer. She was expecting someone, but wasn't sure if this was her.

Get in, save the mutants, burn the place down. A simple mission, really. At least, once you broke it down in that way. However, the shapeshifter was benched from going on and helping in this mission. It was important though, one with many lives on the line. So much so that Erik had actually picked up the slack and went himself. Raven didn't know at first, too busy trying to talk her brother into letting her do something! Just because she had gotten shot in the shoulder did not mean she was suddenly helpless. She could still pull her own weight and then some! There was no need for her to waste her time and let mutants die. She could be out there. She had to be doing something! Before Raven could go insane by being trapped inside all the time, a new mission was given to her. May it be given to her due to how she was moping, or just by chance that she was the one most trusted to do this. It was hard to tell, it could easily be both. But even with the fact that she was currently meant to be recovering, Charles himself mentioned it and gave his sister a chance. An opening to go out there. To not spend all day fiddling her thumbs! It was relatively easy when things came down to it. The mission had a lot less risk, and it just happened to be one that Charles was confident his sister wouldn't get into more trouble on. Well, on purpose, anyways. Keeping her injured arm close to her side, the mutant stepped inside the little teashop. It was quite sweet, being in such a place like this! The smell was homely, the company pleasant. Was this why Charles didn't think twice about giving her this task? This woman did not seem like the type who would prompt violence out of others. Something was calming about her, something that made the shapeshifter understand why Erik would even ask for help in the first place. "I heard you did palm readings," She spoke, stepping on over to where Magda sat. Currently, the shapeshifter looked, and sounded, like a local. At least, a local that lived within easy travelling distance. Raven didn't bother to make herself look like she was from this very town, but one nearby? That was a safer bet. One which she was using now as she mapped out every little detail of the building in her mind. Escape routes were flagged, items that could be used as weapons were marked down. No one would break in and get the upper hand on them. // Magda Eisenhardt

Every New Friend is a New Adventure,
Judging by the voice, Magda guessed they were local, and she smiled warmly over at the woman. "I heard you did palm readings," they asked, and Magda lifted her hand to brush back her hair. "Yes, I do. Would you like one?" Her voice was warm, as was her shop. The colors and mood fit great her family's culture before they had died in the camps. Instead of hard fake-wooden tables that had become popular, there was brightly colored table clothes and warm lighting in the place to make it feel welcoming.
Unlike most palm reading places, Magda didn't relay on darken windows and building a feeling of mystery to help her. When she read a palm or read the cards to find someone's destiny it would be her skill, and company that she used--not musty settings. Moving closer to the counter she held out her hand in greeting, "Magda Eisenhardt." Magda--even after seeing the worst the world could offer--still had an open way about her, and didn't look at shadows and think there was something there. She assumed that people would be good until they weren't. She knew not everyone was, and that there were monsters out in world; she just didn't assume the new people she met were monsters until they proved it.
Noticing that the woman was injured, Magda knew a tea to help with any pain, and prompt healing. She liked to think that she could guess anyone's drink after a few minutes of conversation. It was her hidden talent. One she never spoke up but enjoyed using to her advantage. "Would you like some Chamomile tea with a splash of gin?" Se offered, knowing the tea would help make any swelling go down, and the gin would give it a welcome kick which she would guess appeal to the woman based on her strong walk, and the way she held her body, even while injured.

Chamomile tea was good for a lot of things. Not only was it relaxing, but it was also a pleasant thing to drink when one was aching, which, Raven was doing a lot of right now. Sure she had pain killers in her system, but sometimes they weren't enough for the jolt of pain she felt when hitting her arm in a way it didn't want to go. She wasn't going to lie and act her way out of her discomfort. "Yes, thank you. That would be much appreciated. I was a fool and pulled a muscle last night," She chuckled, managing to pull out a wallet and some money for the tea and palm reading. Poor Erik, to have someone with such a keen eye! There was no way he would have been able to get out of hiding the fact he was upset with anything. It was nice for him to have a person like Magda in his life, but being just as stubborn as him, Raven understand how the care could ruffle one's feathers. "I'm Ewa, by the way. I don't believe you can read my name in my palm," She laughed lightly at her own joke, the coins she owed being placed on the counter. // Magda Eisenhardt

Every New Friend is a New Adventure,
To say shed learned anything from the hell of her childhood that was good to use today was bitter sweet, but it was the best way she could figure out how to explain the fact that somethings she knew, without having a reason to know it. Such as how one held their body when hurt, or how different injuries tented different body positions. Seeing people beat, and tormented hourly was something one didn't simply walk away from. It was how she had been able to tell that the woman was injured. It was also how she knew it was more then a pulled muscle. "Well, we shall let you rest it a while here. And the tea will help ease some of the ache." She told her, not voicing how she knew that it was more. Maybe a recent surgery or perhaps even she'd dislocated it? Magda wasn't sure, but she wasn't going to pry.
"Ewa?" She asked in surprise. "Are you Polish?" They were speaking in the local language but Magda was from Poland and had left after the war to escape the memories of her family no longer being there. It was surprising to find someone with a Polish name this far south. Not unheard of, as many had left to escape memories, but it was a pleasant surprise!
Taking the money, Magda finished the exchange and then poured some hot water into a tea cup. She made a second cup of oolong tea for herself. Lifting the two cups, Magda carried them to one of the tables, and sat there. Putting the one tea on the other side for Ewa. "Palm readings aren't as detailed as that," she laughed since Ewa had said that Magda wouldn't be able to get her name from the reading. "It can tell more about your past, and offer guidance toward your future. More suggestions for what could be. Card reading is a lot more specific, tough still open to interpretation." Depending on how much you believed them, and what you were trying to get out of the reading.
