The store was decently sized not to crowded and allowed several people to the in the front and main room. It's the room where all the business transactions took place. There was always one or two people in this room to assist customers as needed. It was, of course, nicely decorated and housed several different types of flowers. Most were plotted, a few were in glasses freshly cut, and they also had a few of their decorations they could make for nearly any occasion. They also had two fairly large greenhouses out back where they kept every type of flower they currently had in stock some that weren't even in the main room.
Maria's eyes were currently on the paper on the front counter trying to figure out what they needed for the following week. A small bell sounded when the door open and she was always quick to greet the customer and ask them if they needed any help. Most simply replied with 'just looking' or something to that degree. She was the only employee at front there were a couple tending to things in the back.
Upon being questioned her eyes instantly flickered the woman who had entered recently. She put down her pen standing up and walking toward the waterlilies were the woman stood. A smile graced her lips as she consider the woman's question coming to a stop a few feet away. "We can do large orders. Just how large were you thinking?" It could take a little while depending on just how many flowers this woman was wanting. While they had quite a few in the greenhouses it could still take time especially a reoccurring order. But reoccurring meant quite a lot of business and that was something any owner would want. "We can deliver it will cost a bit more but nothing to terrible I assure you." It mostly depended on the distances, after all, it did cost to transport. Something everyone would be able to understand.

It was a warm day and in a way Maria was grateful for that. Even if she had spent a couple years here in the northern part of the United States she was more accustom to the much warmer temperatures in the south. She could go back, sure, but she was rather content with her life here and had no intentions of moving at least for the time being. Despite the warmer temperatures she still wore long jeans that reached the top of her feet that had plain flip flops. She also wore a slightly loose short sleeved tan shirt. It had a few simple designs along the collar and ends of the sleeve but nothing more than that. She had a bright blue purse around her shoulder one hand gripping at the strap of it.
It was her day off and a common habit she had taken on such days was to simply enjoy the city or make the short trip to other larger cities. But on today she wanted to keep it simple, the simpler the better in her opinion. Her bright eyes scanned the sidewalk waving toward the few people she passed, though, they seemed to be in to much of a hurry chit chat which seemed a bit silly, but work she supposed wasn't something that would always wait. As Maria came closer to her detestation, the park, her eyes focused less on people and more on where she was walking. There was a bit more of a bounce to her walk as she stepped into the park it wasn't the largest one she had ever been in but more than adequate for what she wanted.
Her eyes looked over the several trees pleased that they seemed much as they were last time she was here. There was always something about plants that she felt connected to it was probably because of her so called special talent as she liked to call it. Something she seemed to rarely be able to use less anyone call her out on it. She had heard it a few times growing up and that was reason enough to not use and certainly not here where there seemed to be so many people.
Maria walked deeper into the park her eyes focused on a particular large tree sitting down beside the trunk of it. Her hand barely grazed the soft grass, that had clearly been taken well care of, moving it ever so slightly if anyone looked they would assume it was a simple breeze moving the small blades. After a couple minutes she pulled her bag onto her lap and pulled out a book she had placed inside. Reading was something she enjoyed and being able to read in what nature she could find was even better.

Character Basics
.:Name of Character:. Maria Bethany Coleman .:Species:. Mutant .:Alias:. Rose Trillium .:Year Born/Timeline:. First Class Timeline .:Affiliation:. Undecided
Appearance
.:Physical Appearance:. Maria has an average built body though, perhaps, a bit more on the slender and short side. She isn't particular muscular or very strong, physically at least, but can usually manage or find ways to lift what can be considered heavy things if necessary. Her eyes are between a light and medium shade of brown depending on the lighting rather inside a building or home, or if she's outside in the sun or if it's nighttime. Her hair is a bit similar to her eye color but a bit darker more a certain medium shade than anything. She tends either wear her down or up in some way rather it's a plain ponytail or a messy bun. She may wear light makeup but doesn't by any means go overboard with any of it. She does dress modestly, though, some of her clothing is a bit baggy particular shirts. She often wears jeans but on occasion may wear skirts or dresses. .:Height:. 5'3'' .:Portrayed by:. Crystal Reed
Personality
.:Personality:. Maria usually tries to be an optimistic person, though, there are times where she can be quite the opposite. Despite some prejudices she has noticed among people in general, particular toward mutants, it hasn't made her overly bitter. If anything the ordeal has made her more sympathetic even if she herself hasn't personally gone through the distastes of others since most people don't even know she has a secret talent as she likes to call it. But the few instances she has dealt with this has made her quite understanding of the subject. This, perhaps, has influenced her to at times have strong opinions and disagree with others, but she tends to keep her opinions to herself. This is more true if she thinks it'll cause any discord rather she's with friends or strangers.
She does generally try to be a kind and polite person something her mother raised her to be. And she is certainly a rather outgoing young lady and more likely to begin talking to others rather it's a simple inquire on the weather or just an introduction. Even with this as with every person she does have a not so kind side to her as well. It can take a lot to irritate her but if she is she does have her small ways to let that be known. And if something rubs against her the wrong way she can have a slight temper, though, she does try to keep her cool for the most part. She certainly would never want to hurt someone, physically or verbally, on purpose by any means, but that doesn't mean she may not says words she may regret later. .:Powers/Abilities:. Plant Control: Ability to manipulate and control plants. Currently, she only has about a fifteen foot radius of control of plants that are around her, though, with training she may be able to expand this. She is able to make plants grow in length and size. They will return to their orginal state if she steps to far from them or if she simply manipulates them to do so. If a plant is dead or too dehyrdated she can do very little and often, if dead at least, nothing at all with them. This does include dormant plants in the winter and plants without roots, such as those in bouquet for gifts, she can do nothing with them. She also can do very little with trees as they are very large and not as mobile and bendable as say flowers or vines.
History
.:Birthplace:. Macon, Georgia .:Family:. Mother: Laura Coleman, Father: Christopher Coleman, Brother: Aaron Coleman .:Occupation:. Florist .:Current Location of Residence:. New York .:History:. Maria was born and raised, for most of her young childhood, in a fairly large city right in the middle of Georgia. She was a young child until the age of ten when her mother gave birth to a baby boy they named Aaron. Her mother took the traditional role of a housewife and stayed at home with her children and the family would be consider normal from the outside at least. Maria's father was a businessman and it was not uncommon for him to work long hours at the office. Though, he did make sure to take at least one weekend of the month where he could fully spend time with his family and at least two weeks in the summer for a vacation of sorts. They normally remained in their home state for these vacations but every now and then Maria's father would save up enough money to travel to other locations as well. Even staying with family on such occasions.
The family lived on the outskirts of the large city in a nice suburb and had a fairly decent sized backyard where her mother had planted a few flowers. It was in the backyard at a young age, before her brother's birth, that Maria discovered that she had a gift of sorts she was able to make the flowers grow a bit larger, though, she was quick to realize when she was to far away from them they regenerated back to their original state. Her mother would always tell her she had an over active imagination. At some point after this discovery the young girl pleaded with her mother to simply watch what she could do. Even with her mother seeing with her own eyes her ability she refused to believe her daughter could do such a thing and often scolded her and telling her to grow up. This was mostly out of a fear of the unknown and something she perceived as being impossible and to some extent frighten her. Her mother also told her to not tell her father about this matter much to the girl's chagrin she did as she was told.
As Maria became a teenager she often stayed away from home preferring to spend time with her friends rather than her mother and younger brother. She would also sneak out at night, not particular far sometimes just the backyard or a nearby park, and experiment with this ability she had. She had grown quite an interest in plants because of this and read up quite a bit on them from books she borrowed from the library, though she would read more than just about plants often fiction as well since reading is something she enjoys very much, even visiting a couple greenhouses on the weekends, well the weekends her father was busy. She tended to keep her secret talent a secret from post people she had learned early on that her friends simply would not tolerate her talent. The first and only friend she had told wanted nothing more to do with her essentially labeling her as a 'freak' because of what she could do.
Once she graduated high school she decided to attend college more with her father pressuring her than anything. He, naturally, wanted her to study business despite the fact she had no interest in it. She chose a college in New York having fond memories of a vacation she had with her family to New York City being one reason as well as being far from her family and hopefully able to somewhat choose what she did. She chose a smaller city than the Macon, but also one that was a reasonable drive the best known city in New York as she was use to having a large variety of stores and such and did not want to quite let that go. Her father gave her enough money to live in a fairly small apartment until she found a job but also wanted her to focus more on school than anything. She did often write to her younger brother ever so often as he was the one person she'd miss more than any other. The same went with a couple of her friends.
After only two short years of college she decided to quit not finding it something she really enjoyed and she had found a part time job in the meantime. It was working as a florist that also had a greenhouse so she was able to easily work with something she enjoyed and with her secret talent as well. It was not long after this decision to quit that she began to hear news about mutants something that came to be a great surprise to herself. She hadn't been sure if there were others with abilities or talents like herself. Though, for the time being she is uncertain if she wants to seek them out or not. In a way she is still simply accepting the news allowing it to be absorb and simply needs time.
Sample Post
Maria hadn't really checked that morning to see what kind of weather to expect, but judging from the cloudy dark sky and the light breeze starting to form it was no doubt about to rain. A slight sigh escaped her lips as her hands played with her the strap of her purse on her shoulder not entirely wanting to get drenched. She had hoped for a nice day out but it was clear she'd either have to get soak taking a nice walk or head somewhere. Perhaps it would be a quick storm that seemed more appealing than anything to her at the moment. She tended to enjoy sunshine more than anything when it was cloudy, or gloomy she just wasn't as perky as she normally would be.
It always interested her how lively everything could become in the sunshine, well, as long as it wasn't too hot. Which living where she did was nothing like her hometown. It was a nice break to be in a cooler climate but at times it could feel too cold. One reason she tended to wear long pants or jeans. Today she had chosen to wear jeans and boots along with a comfy short sleeved purple shirt. She was more for comfort than anything her hair was also tossed almost carelessly into a bun on her head. It was her day off, after all, she could afford to relax even if she was simply walking around the city.
Her bright eyes scanned the surrounding buildings judging her choices. There was a cafe close it may be a good choice she'd keep it in mind. Her eyes scanned the others mostly small stores selling various things. Clothing, jewelry, and a few other stores that just didn't catch her attention at the moment. Though, it seemed her time was up feeling a few drops of rain her eyes focused on the cafe making her way through the street passing only a couple people as she rushed to the doors. The moment she stepped into the warmed up cafe rain started pouring. A small smirk played on her lips seemed she had good timing for that one.
