What the actual fuck?
It was like a nightmare... A really bad nightmare. Cause the invasion of the house wasn't bad enough... But then she had seen Piotr in action, shirtless... She was certain it was a dream. But then the men in the guns had shown up, along with a man who made Logan freeze where he stood.
They had escaped with Iceman and Pyro, only to drive through the night all the way to Bobby's house. She loved long trips on the road but this was not the road trip it could have been. How do you relax and enjoy the sights when half of your classmates are missing, possibly in custody of mad scientists and military men? And without communication between the staff, Logan was a little fidgety at the idea of being in charge for three ripe and hormonal teens.
So then the silver lining of being at the Drake house becomes a complete and utter disaster. Cops show up. Not one or two cars. All the cop cars the small town probably had to offer.
How about that part where Logan got a bullet in his head for a good thirty seconds? Well if she wasn't traumatized yet, she had been from that moment on. What ever happened to being a normal teenager? She wasn't even. Teenage mutant ninja anything because she wasn't being trained to be a warrior. She was just Rogue, a quiet and so sweat shy student who mostly hung out with Bobby and his social circle.
And Bobby was there with her... Until she fell out of the plane. So much for not having a fear of heights...
It couldn't get any worse.
Enter the man who almost cost her her life...
Rogue recollected the details of the last twenty four hours. Never a dull moment....
Her tent had been set up but honestly, she was never going to get to sleep. With all the events and chaos and anxiety of the situation, anyone would have thought Rogue would do a ninety degree angle face plant into her sleeping bag.
Instead, she wandered around the camp, bare footed and bare handed since it seemed everyone else was asleep for the night...

Anna Marie D'Ancanto
She goes by Rogue and she can get along with most anyone as long as they're not a racist and judgmental pig.. Face it, that's half of humanity!
In the movies, Rogue may have been a little quiet and a bit of a push over, but she's evolved and grown into a stubborn and sassy southern girl who can hold her own in a fight, isn't afraid to get down and dirty, and has the tongue of a viper.
She's done a bit of growing up and she's accepted her mutation for what it is. She knows that she needs to work hard in order to be useful to her team. It pushes her to be a better person and if she can't control her mutation, then she will be the best person she can be.
Although the mansion has been her home for years, Rogue misses home. The heat and the sounds of cicadas chirping at night will never be replaced. What she misses most isthe starry skies of Mississippi where she could point out every constellation and tell the story behind it. Nature is whimsical to her and she loves to be outdoors, especially if she can roast in the sun for a bit.
If you have any ideas for threads or just want to see where something goes, feel free to message me. I am open to just about anything.

'Stop crying your heart out.... Stop crying your heart out.'
The song played on repeat for hours now. She had never seen anybody die before... She never even had a family member or distant relative die before... So to see it happen from a window, to see those angry waves engulf one of her friends, one of her teachers, one of the people who had risked her life to rescue her from Ellis Island... It was devastating to Rogue. She was at an age where just about everything could milk a tear from her. This situation wrung her like a lime wedge and bled her of tears.
What now? Scott seemed destroyed. And Logan?... She sensed he had feelings for Jean. But this outcome? No one had seen this coming. No one. Not even The Professor... Rogue didn't want to cry... But it was only when she cried to certain songs that she actually felt better.
The teenager had been curled up in bed for hours while the song played. Her arms had wrapped around herself, for no one else's would. She couldn't ask Bobby to comfort her. She would only get angrier with the fates. If someone was going to hug her, she wanted a full on hug... Cheek to cheek, warmth on warmth... So what was the point?
Self soothing was very underrated. Yes, Rogue liked to be with her friends but in situations such as these, she preferred to be alone. Watching everyone hold each other and cry together while hands were held was only discouraging. In a time where a death hung over the school, she had enough to worry about than to be side tracked by her own pity party for her mutation.
Rogue's eyes remained wide open now. The flood gates had shut and she felt somewhat functional again.
They said the best way to get over a sadness or an aching void in your heart was to keep busy. Well, she wasn't going to get physical comfort so she might as well get something accomplished.
She had to peel herself off he bed and throw on an oversized hoody to cover up some bare skin on her arms and chest. Her room was really the only place she wore tank tops and no gloves.
Upon entering the hallways, a feeling of eerie silence filled the place. It was a school, a home for people who's families had sent them here or cast them off with nothing into the world... Silence always meant something negative... It didn't matter. Rogue made her way to see the man she wanted to see. Worst that could happen was he could tell her she wasn't needed for extra help.
Reaching the door, Rogue knocked gently, certain that he had his door closed for a reason. "Professor? Would ya have a minute tah talk? If not, ah could come back later..."

The world is an ugly place.
Well shit... That was an understatement. The world was frustrating and in so many ways. Humans and mutants were vying for dominance int the world instead of cohabitating and having mutual natural relationships with either species. Back when she was still a student, she learned the basics in biology and how the world got past being a single celled organism. Adaptation. Often times, nature even came together. Rogue felt like she was giving the world a science lesson, ruler in her hand as she stood at the blackboard.
Ok kids! Today we're gonna learn about mutual bonds. Basic example. Bird sits on hippo. Bird is protected from gators and gets to be on the water. Hippo gets benefit of bird picking the plant and micro organisms off its back that the hippo can't reach. Two different species making the best of a situation. Learn it.
Dear lord... It was a concept that even children understood. Children were more pure of heart. Add the negativity from the world and that child would grow up judgmental, scared, and bitter. Add the fact that bigots would condition that child to hate what they feared, and that's how the world ended up how it ended up. Rogue remembered the night her mutation first arose. She had been terrified. The last thing on her mind was trying to use her power to her selfish benefit. What she needed was comfort and words to give her strength. She had received none of that. The first mutant she met after that was detrimental. He's taught her friendship, family, and acceptance. Were it a different man, her life might have ended up a lot different. Overall, she had no regrets about the path she had taken. Marie had fallen into good hands to evolve into the stubborn and head strong young woman often referred to as Rogue.
It was odd indeed for Rogue to be chewing over something in her head that wasn't touch. Today, she wouldn't waste a thought on something she couldn't control. Literally. She had done therapy, meditation, breathing exercises, hypnosis, and it was all to no avail. She accepted it, as the prayer of serenity had advised. So what if she wasn't like the other mutants who could fly on ice shoots and control weather patterns... She was still one of them. She just had to work harder to be a valuable asset.
Tracing the wet rim of her class with her bare fingertip, she finally slid it forward to be refilled. "Can ah get another?" The bar keep didn't hesitate and quickly picked up a bottle and poured the amber contents out of the nozzle and into her glass. About to pick up the glass, a commotion drew her attention from the contents just in front of her. She didn't put too much weight into it. After all, bars were common places for liquor induced brawls to happen. It wasn't until another voice spoke that she slowly turned her head to take a gander at the scene unfolding in the establishment. Oh ya gotta be kiddin' me.
There was no one who wanted Magneto to get what he deserved more than Rogue. Unfortunately, there was a time and a place for that and it was anywhere innocent people might not get hurt. Pushing off the bar stool, she addressed the bar keep. "Ah'll be right back, sugah." First thing's first. Rogue dug into her back pocket and retrieved her gloves, yanking them on quickly before making her way over.
Part of her wanted to give him what he had coming. And just when she thought she might throw a mean left hook in his direction, she stopped behind the two men, hands on her hips as she addressed them loud enough. "Gentlemen, ah assure ya, he deserves whatever ya mean tah pull on him, but let me be honest with ya, he's gonna win, no matter what."
Rogue tsked and shook her head before slipping past both of them, patting their shoulders as she moved. When using feminine wiles to persuade the opposite sex, making a physical connection often sealed the deal. Rogue wasn't exactly the small flat teenager she use to be. The girl was curvaceous and not afraid to show it. "Save yaself the trouble and go get yourselves another beer, and put it on mah tab. Jimmy over there will take care of ya." Rogue pointed over to where she had been sitting and waved to her server, blowing a playful kiss in his direction.

That's actually great quality and tells some good story. Very nice. You and your band are very talented.
I wish I could play an instrument. I competed in choir when I was in college and high school so I'm aware of the basics like site reading, writing and harmonizing and dynamics but other than that, not much talent.
I use music to muse my posts. I love it when a song tells an untold story and I just fill it in in my head.
Jack White, The Black Keys, The Lumineers, and Airborne Toxic Event are all on my Rogue playlists. I need one for each character I take up.
But I have always found that writhed a thread to The Lord Of The Rings soundtrack always produces epic results.

Flight. Because I love to travel and I want to see the world, preferably without getting stuck in a coach class flight.
Question: If you could make any fictional or mythological character a real person and meet them, who would it be?

Character Basics
.:Name of Character: Anna Marie D'Ancanto. .:Species: Mutant or HomoSuperior. .:Alias: Rogue. .:Year Born/Timeline: 1993 .:Affiliation: X-Men.
Appearance
.:Physical Appearance: Marie is no tall figure or even ominous looking. Rogue appears to be the average young person of her age range. She may be small but she is toned and packs a wallop. With with brown eyes that shine and a beautiful smile, Rogue can be quite charming, often giving off that aura of the sweet but mysterious girl next door since she grew up in the south. The Southern Belle is quite curvy and appealing, which makes her the perfect incarnation of forbidden fruit. Her long brown hair holds the signature identifier of the white streaks that appeared when she was first kidnapped by Mystique and Magneto when she was a teenager. .:Height:5'6. .:Portrayed by: Anna Paquin.
Personality
.:Personality: Rogue look sweet and she can be, but she has quite a temper. Not one to be walked all over, Rogue is more than happy to stand up for herself of make what's on her mind known.
Raised in a southern home, Rogue is polite and mindful of her manners. She will be tidy in the presence of others but behind closed doors, her things are what one might say in a state of beautiful chaos. Always a free spirit, Rogue does what she feels she needs to do and always follows her instincts. After meeting Logan on the road and absorbing a part of him, she takes a bit after him, and can be rowdy and rambunctious. She is fond of the outdoors, often enjoying a walk outside during warmer seasons barefoot. Although she doesn't particularly seek to be alone, she often is, and when she is, she exposed a little more skin, such as not wearing gloves or a long sleeved shirt.
Although Rogue considers herself attractive, she has little confidence with the opposite sex due to her mutation. Platonically, her relationships with men aren't a problem for her. She can often behave like just one of the guys with them and hold her own in rough play. Present her with a romantic situation and she might just get thrown off guard. She doesn't believe anyone would genuinely flirt with her and might even mistake it for pity on account of her mutation and its restrictions.
Not too exposed to the world, Rogue can be quite naive and is often too trusting but it doesn't stop her from typical nature to be curious and thirsty for knowledge and experience. Although she is young, Rogue is skilled at hand to hand combat and excels in agility. Since she is not very muscular and broad, she can move around the battlefield quickly, and focuses in improving her hand to hand combat since her mutation doesn't particularly aid her in the field. She might not have much confidence in other departments, but in battle and out on the field, she soars. Like any young person, she likes to have fun and participates in going out to see movies, have a drink or two, or even hang out to play pool, sing karaoke, and dance with her peers at the mansion. A hard worker committed to her classes and her goal of controlling her powers one day, Rogue can cut loose every once in a while. And just like any young woman, she might get herself into trouble once in a blue moon. .:Powers/Abilities: Rogue has the power of absorption, meaning any direct skin to skin contact will absorb life force from a human. In their life force, she draws out memories, information, and even personality traits. The process of absorption is very unpleasant, often bringing on dizzy and lightheadedness and strong headaches and migraines. If absorbed for too long, the human may fall comatose and even die. When Rogue absorbs mutants, the experience complete changes. Not only does she absorb memories, personality traits, and energy, but she also takes on their power for a short time. Depending on the power, it could be catastrophic
Skilled fighter and brawler: Although Rogue's powers aren't often used in the field for personal and safety reasons, she can be a valuable asset to any team. She is quick on her feet, stealthy, and focuses most of her training.
History
.:Birthplace: Caldecott County, Mississippi. .:Family: Priscella and Owen D'Ancanto. .:Occupation: Teacher. .:Current Location of Residence: Charles Xavier's School For Gifted Youngsters. .:History: Raised in a southern environment, Rogue was always running around the fields and getting into some sort of mischief. At the end of the day, she was a good kid, just a little too curious. Raised by Owen and Priscella, Was the typical southern teenager. She went to school, enjoyed the company of school mates, and even had a crush in high school when her powers came into effect. It was her first kiss that brought on the emotional stress that made her powers first surface. At the age of sixteen, Rogue was afraid and had nowhere to turn to. Instead of being cast out by her parents, she took to the road on her own where she met Logan, realizing he was similar to her. Once in Logan's company, she looked up to him like a father and the two had been nearly inseparable. Being the only person she trusted, the two stayed at the school after being attacked by Sabretooth and it was there that she began to grow in her studies and as a young woman. With the affections of Bobby Drake, Rogue grew less self conscious about her powers until she was taken by Magneto for a terrorist plot that would have left her dead and half of the city turned into mutants. Once the plot was interrupted, she was brought back to the mansion to continue her studies and development with the students and staff while Logan went off in search of answers in regards to his past.
Months went by and Rogue devolved a steady relationship with Bobby Drake. It was a positive experience for her to know that someone was willing to overlook her mutation and try to be with her, even if things became hard when they wanted to be close with each other. The companionship was needed, and she meshed into the student body with the help of Bobby and his friends. Things seemed at peace until Stryker's forces infiltrated the school during a time that the nation was pushing registration in fear of mutant terrorists. Rogue and Logan barely escaped the raid of Xavier's with Bobby and John Allerdyce and met up with Storm and Jean, only to learn that Erik Lehnsherr was out of jail and aware of plans the involved the military scientist that raided the school the night before. With some students and Scott and The Professor in Stryker's custody, the group forged together to infiltrate the military base at Alkali Lake and take back their own, stop Stryker's plans and shut down Cerebro II. Once the two sides succeeded, the X-Men and Brotherhood went their separate ways. Upon escaping the collapsing base at the lake, the team lost Jean Grey, and proceeded to mourn her life on the journey home. It wasn't long after, that Worthington Labs developed a serum that was said to cure the mutant gene. Young, and desperate to be like other people, Rogue went on her way to receive the cure, only to be interrupted by a fight between Pyro and Iceman. It was on her journey that she missed the battle of Alcatraz and came home cured from her mutation.
But the cure was faulty, and Rogue's mutation came back, only to leave her discouraged and shut off from the idea of any relationship.
Sample Post There had been a time for flirtatious glances and the idea of hand holding, brief lip locks and subtle gestures of affection. But like anyone's life, there was also a time to let go of childish things and accept reality. The time to grow up had approached sooner than she had anticipated. Growing up... It was something that kids wanted from the beginning of life and here she was at the ripe age of twenty one and she regretted ever wanting to grow up.
She sat out in the garden of the school, blanket beneath her as she lay out in the sun. Just because she couldn't show her skin half the time didn't mean she wasn't well groomed. Rogue took pride in her appearance and hygiene, so the leg shaving and the waxing continued because even if she couldn't show off to land herself a man, she was still going to feel good about herself, dash the men. Dash the idea of a relationship. Her relationship had to be with herself and for now, that was fine. Laying back on her blanket in a green and white stripped bikini, the sun licked at her skin. A thin sheen of sweat layered on her skin from laying out so long. The heat was nothing for Rogue. Growing up in a southern home where you could practically breathe the water out of the air, Rogue was accustomed to humidity and heat. Dry heat was the best. She felt toasty out in the sun, wind kissing at her cheeks and her bare belly and thighs.
The garden spoke to her. Every rustle of flowers, cricket chirp, every bird that chirped was a message from earth, coaxing her to believe that just for a second, she might be back home in the comfort of Mississippi. Truth was, Rogue was a vagrant. Home was where the heart was, not a place. Right now, her friends were here, and that's what cemented her to the institute. Did she have a purpose? Just to learn control of her powers...
It was a fair goal... But there was no end in sight. "Home... Oh home... Home is wherever ah'm with you..." Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros.... That damn song was stuck in her head. It wasn't uncommon to hear Rogue randomly sing quiet lyrics to herself when she thought she was alone. It was part of her charm actually, and with a southern lilt and a sweet voice, her sounds were always so pretty. It was just a darn shame she wouldn't sing for anyone but herself...
